Sara is a young, NYC born, rookie detective in the NYPD who aspired to be on the force since she was a child. During an investigation, in which she lost her first detective partner, a powerful artifact of power known as the Witchblade selected her as its next bearer, giving her superpowers.

Altruistic:
A desire to work for the greater good motivated her joining the police force. It helps her balance the great power the Witchblade brings and not tip over into its darker aspects.
Ambitious:
Sara is never satisfied with the status quo. She's already the youngest the youngest detective on the force.
Determined:
Tenacious, might be another way of framing this quality in her. Once on the trail of a clue or a criminal, she doesn't let go to the detriment of sleep, food and good sense, at times.
Independent:
Unafraid of making decisions on her own, Sara is willing to strike out on the less taken path.
Perceptive:
She has a keen sense of what motivates people, a useful trait when on the trail of a criminal.
Resilient:
Sara holds up under the stress of change, even radical change with a sense of humor and a perspective oriented towards helping other. It keeps her sane in the face of the supernatural powers the Witchblade brings into her life.

Adaptive Armor Generation:
The Witchblade's most recognizable powers is its ability to cover its host in protective armor, that adapts depending on how much damage the user is receiving. Because of the sharp surface of the armor, it always shreds the wielders clothes. The armor itself is incredibly strong and is impervious to all manner of firearms, explosives and even energy blasts and can also form wings allowing flight.
Digitabulum Connection:
Because Digitabulum began her existence as a piece of Witchblade's soul, the two Artifacts are forever connected. No matter the distance between them, or their location in this universe or another, the two Artifacts are capable of communicating with one another. If they desire, they are also able to draw upon each other's abilities and powers.
This connection permits the Wielders to know the location of each other, how healthy they are, and if the Artifacts permit, to even communicate with one another.
Dreams:
In Sara's dreams she relives the experiences of all the past wielders of The Witchblade. She has no control over which dreams she will be shown, or when they will happen. Often these dreams are offered as a way to learn about powers the gauntlet is capable of, but also as a means for learning more about The Witchblade himself.
Endurance:
The Witchblade channels energy to its wielder giving her superhuman endurance.
Healing:
Witchblade always protects his Wielder from death by healing fatal wounds instantly, and can grant a form of immortality, such as with his previous wielder Maitea (1288, Yucatan) who lived for over 2000 years before disappearing. Through the touch of the Gauntlet, he can heal others of minor wounds, simple broken bones and lessor illnesses.
Spirit Interaction:
The Witchblade allows Sara to see and interact with ghosts, spirits and other incorporeal entities. In some cases, the spirits of the dead can be called and spoken to, but what they share is up to them.
Superhuman Strength:
The Gauntlet confers enough strength on the wielder to overpower humans as well as supernatural creatures.
Weapon Generation:
The Gauntlet can summon unbreakable knives, daggers, swords, whips, spears and numerous other bladed hand to hand and melee weapons of extreme power.
Witchblade Flight:
The wings formed by the Adaptive Armor use magic to generate their thrust energy. Maximum speeds of 500mph can be achieved quickly, with the ability to fly for several hours before Witchblade requires a rest of several hours to recover. The user is able to levitate in place in the air and the wings offer extremely agile maneuverability. The wings can function in vacuum and thin atmospheres, but absent the presence of thermals and air currents, the wearer tires more quickly and has less agility.

Hand-To-Hand Combat:
Acquired through kendo and judo classes as well as skills taught at the police academy, she is a capable street fighter.
Marksmanship:
Police academy training polished off her already competent skills with a gun. Her father started her on the firing range at sixteen.
Physically Fit:
High school and college martial arts and running have kept her in great shape.

Agent of Shield:
Having joined S.H.I.E.L.D, Agent Sara Pezzini is generously paid for her services and has gained access to tech and items linked to her clearance level.
Avengers:
Sara has become one of the select few to serve with the Avengers as a member of the team. This gives her access to numerous forms of tech and financing.
Nypd:
The New York Police Department, despite all its faults, is her main resource. Stationed at the Bushwick NYPD precinct, she is the head of the Special Investigations Unit, which makes her responsible for hiring and maintaining officers to investigate the supernatual, mystic, and other worldly things that happen in New York.
Witchblade:
The Witchblade is a sentient ancient weapon with magical powers. One of thirteen mystical artifacts, the male aspect gauntlet serves as a balance between the primal forces of Endless Destruction and Gaia. He was conceived of a consummation between the primal forces in their attempt to avoid mutual destruction.
The Witchblade's modern origins began in Greece where he was found by Kenneth Irons, though his history went back long before that. In his resting form, Witchblade assumes the shape of a decorative wide band silver bracelet with a one inch fire opal red gem in the center. When deployed, he takes the form of a silver Gauntlet with sharp blades that covers the wielder's hand and arm to the elbow. On the back of the hand is a two inch fire opal red gem with a half inch lapis blue gem below it.
When wielded by an unworthy user, the person will lose their arm. The male Witchblade always selects a female host, and a worthy one can hear the Witchblade and form a symbiotic relationship with him. See the Powers section for a full list of Witchblade's powers.
Weaknesses

Enemies:
Sara has a ruthless enemy in Kenneth Irons who covets the Witchblade and its wielder. Jackie Estacado, a mob hitman, possessed by the Darkness stalks her, drawn by the power of the Witchblade.
Judgmental:
A tendency to see the world in absolute terms making her implacable toward someone she judges to fall on the side of evil.
Psychometry:
The Witchblade can sense events of great trauma or violence in an area. It will force visions or empathic feelings onto the wielder to show them what violence occurred. This rarely occurs at convenient or opportune moments.
Regular Human:
Without the glove Sara is vulnerable as any human with police training.
Tactless, Short Tempered:
Sara doesn't suffer fools or corruption easily. To many she often seems recklessness in how she acts, and has a certain lack of tact... she is too blunt and to the point. This sort of attitude often hinders professional relationships and general socialization.
