Mark Grayson has posed:
It had been a couple of days since the disaster in the Tailor Shoppe. Mark has ended up remaining behind to deal with things, to try to reason with his father, to try to figure out why he felt the way he did.

And then there was a rescue in Hawai'i that he was late for and that's a whole other set of awkward that Mark will have to deal with at some point. But finally, he made his way back to New York.

There had been text and calls, but he was still feeling uneasy as he hugged his mom and left for home.

As he raced towards Bunny's apartment, part of his mind was already imagining it -- all of his stuff packed up neatly, waiting for him to pick up. No, if Bunny had told her friends about what happened, his stuff would already all be in the dumpster.

On his way, he had grabbed a dozen red roses, and just... he shows up at her place, and before he puts in the code, he stops. What if she changed it?

Tenatively, he uses his free hand to knock. "Bunny?"

Bunny Macleod has posed:
There's no answer to the door. The apartment itself is half-dark. It's not a normal Bunny patrol night. His stuff isn't in the dumpster. There had been texts and calls, though Bunny's were short and quick, often with the sounds of Rain Beau's in the background in the evening or training during the day. Her texts had been abnormally short and lacking the insane amount of emojis she was known for.

And it wasn't that she seemed angry... she seemed scared. Permissive even.
RTWhatever you want to do. Whatever you think is best. Be safe in Hawai'i.

Mark Grayson has posed:
A breath is drawn in and Mark reaches up.

0-8-2-4

It's the date of their first date that he puts on the keypad and he waits to see if the light flashes green and allows him back into Bunny's life.

Or stays red for him to stay away.

Bunny Macleod has posed:
The flight flashes green; the Burrow allows Mark in with no trouble.

It's dark. There's a take-out container that really should be trashed. It appears to be developing culture.

Beeper geeps from his pen happily. His water bottle is good and even has a couple of ice cubes in it still from being filled.

All else is partially lit, almost creepy. A couple of stubby candles were recently blown out. The smell of smoke and charr in the air hangs about them.

And then, in the creepy, dark apartment, the toilet can be heard flushing, the sink running, and then the bathroom door opening to show Bunny, looking a little haggard, hair all over the place, her eyes half closed, wearing a different one of Mark's sweatshirts and a pair of pajama shorts.

Mark Grayson has posed:
Green light. Go.

Into a world he doesn't understand. Usually the apartment is bright, lit up. There would be music on. And Bunny's presence would be heavily felt.

It's almost as if he's stepped into his own wake. And when Bunny steps into the main area, he clears his up. "Hey, sweetheart." he offers quietly.

His hand swings around from behind his back to offer her the dozen lovely red roses he bought her.

They're shredded. Half of them are no more. Three of them are broken, swinging uselessly on their stems. The other two are sheared in half. Only one, barely a bud, has remained intact.

"I...uh...got these for you." he starts haltingly. "I..." he's trying to find the next words to say.

Bunny Macleod has posed:
Bunny pauses, and she looks up at Mark, biting the corner of her lower lip. Her eyes dart from Mark's face to his hand, to the roses that maybe could have made it if he hadn't sped through the air, and then she looks back up to Mark's expression. She takes it all in for a moment, and he begins to talk.

TAnd as he stammers,

"-- you are *not* responsibe for your dad." is the first thing out of Bunny's mouth, as she wakes up a bit more and smooths out her hair, her shoulders drawing up. She takes a deep breath, closes her eyes, before she throws her arms around Mark's chest (because short as she is, she can't really throw her arms around his shoulders unless she jumps up), but she breathes out.

"Your dad put his own foot in his mouth. It's OK. That's not your fault." she whispers.

Mark Grayson has posed:
As soon as she grabs him, it's over. Mark drops the flowers, pulling Bunny into an embrace that may cause her back and ribs to pop as he squeezes her. "I don't know what he was thinking!" he breathes, his face buried in Bunny's blonde locks.

Blonde hair she allowed to turn blonde to try to impress his parents. It only makes him angrier at his father.

"I'm sorry he made you feel that way. I'm sorry I didn't shut him down immediately. I'm sorry that he made you that uncomfortable." he manages, a gasp of a breath as he kisses the crown of her head and draws in her scent.

"I love you. I always will." he promises her as he starts to release her into a less crushing embrace. "Oh god, Bunny, I was so scared."

Bunny Macleod has posed:
Yes. There is a bunch of cracks and pops. Bunny doesn't seem to mind this.

The pink hair she'd given up on to give a good presentation to his parents. The gentle Bunny keeps her arms around Mark's chest as she breathes out.

"It's. Not. Your. Fault." she repeats "Your dad could have just not said anything. He clearly has a prefernce. But you do too. Your preference is me. Not that Sunny's not amazing but I think I've got her beat." she whispers quietly.

Mark Grayson has posed:
"I made my choice. When I asked you out." Mark responds. He is not letting her go. Not anytime soon. His hands move up and down her back and he nods his head. "You were my first. In a lot of things." he admits quietly to her.

And then she brings up Sunny. "We need to talk about Sunny. Not tonight. But soon." he says quietly, honestly to her. "Because right now, all I want to do is make sure that the connection between us is stronger than ever." And with that, he leans down, and presses a kiss, longing and deep, to his lover's mouth.

Bunny Macleod has posed:
Bunny gives a small smile, ad she goes up to her tip-toes, curling her fingers against Mark's shoulders as he leans down. Her eyes close, her fingers brush over his arms and she presses back, sweet and soft in his embrace.

"You're not losing me, Mark. I told you, you're stuck with me."
