Diana Prince has posed:
Diana is one to try and keep up with those she enjoys. As such, Mercy had gotten an invite to join her for dinner at the Themysciran Embassy tonight. Nothing official, nothing overly fancy. Just an evening in for food and drinks, non-alcoholic options of course available!

When Mercy had arrived, she'd been escorted to the recreation room where Diana was waiting by the kitchen and bar area inside the recreation room. Dressed casually in a loose fitting white sweater, with red slacks and dark red ankle boots, the Princess of Themyscira has her dark hair tied back in a loose ponytail, and is in the process of sorting some items on the island countertop, a selection of finger-foods to share this evening.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy has been out and about, and even did a bit of a road trip not long ago. So when she gets a call for dinner with Diana she's more then happy to show up and be there. She makes sure to clean up and scrub hard. She put on some of her nicer clothes going with a pair of black jeans that ride well on her hips along with a deep blue top that has three quarter sleeves. AS she shows up on time with a fresh baked fruit pie in hands.
"Hello Diana," giving her a warm smile as she steps into the area with the tall woman. "You somehow make 'casual' look runway," laughing as she compliments the outfit Diana chose to wear. "I come bearing pie and an offer to help if you need it." She will set the pie down somewhere open and out of the way.

Diana is quick to move to greet Mercy, motioning for her to set the delivered pie down upon the counter of the rec room's little kitchen area. "Oh, that looks delicious." She'd said with a sincerity to her naturally husky hued voice. Her eyes went over to the other then, at the compliment of her dress, which causes her to glance down at herself. She has a grin on her visage when she looks back up toward the other. "Thank you." She notes, glancing Mercy over. "You look good too!" She adds as she offers a light hug. "Glad to see you again too."

When she pulls back, she shows a light smile for Mercy as her hands come together in front of her lap. "Oh, I'm not preparing the food. Ferdinand is handling that." She informs, motioning toward the bar. "Would you like a drink? We have just about everything. Dinner should be ready soon." She says as she steps back around the counter then, her left hand motioning to the various finger foods sitting out. "We have this to tide us over in the meaning time." She says in a happy tone.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
"You're being too kind," but she hugs back. Mercy is subtle but she takes a slow breath as she reminds herself of Diana's scent. "It's been some time. I'm glad we got to meet up like this. Thank you for the invite." Letting that breath out after her words with a smile. "I trust you and yours are doing well enough?"

"I'll take some tea or juice if you got it. That or sparkling. Not since college do I drink. Too easy to say the wrong thing." She will snack some of the finger food as soon as it is offered, "Thanks. I worked through lunch today and I got a hell of an appetite. Don't worry I'll still be hungry for whatever fine meal Ferdinand gives us."

Diana Prince has posed:
When Mercy speaks of drink options, Diana moves to the little fridge built in to one of the cabinets, and reaches for a glass pitcher filled with a deep amber hued tea. She grins faintly at the talk of alcohol causing loose judgement on words. "It has many negative side effects, for most." She notes as she prepares a glass of ice tea for her. When she returns to the island counter she offers her the glass on a coaster atop the polished granite countertop. "For me, it takes so much alcohol to even get me tipsy that I have not often experienced the negatives like that..." She motions toward a glass of red wine she'd already had out for herself, and smirks back. "Sometimes I have been challenged to drinking contests by those who don't believe me on that. Rarely does it go well, for them." She smiles softly, as her hand wraps around the base of the wine glass.

"Everyone here is doing quite well, all things considered. Donna isn't here, I believe Cassie is up in her room, but she rarely wants to socialize in a face to face fashion with others. She's more of an online socializer... Kids, and all."

A little grin lingers upon her red hued lips as she takes a sip from her glass, then lowers it once more to the counter before her. "How is business? My car is still running perfectly smooth, so I haven't had an excuse to stop by."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
"I guess you got a lot more tolerance then most. My first time drinking and being back in the 'real' world is when I slipped bout ghosts to my roommate." The tea is taken with a nod of thanks as she sips it some, making sure to put the glass back on the coaster. "Well if you choose to tap into the 'good stuff' or whatever it does it for you, I promise to keep your secrets and even hold your hair back." Winking at the other woman joining in the laugh at the idea of someone drinking Diana under the table.

"Kids can be great though, and have you tried to game with her online. Could be fun. But any time you want to hang out I am always game for that." Mercy looks a bit rueful, "Truth be told I like to be alone but there are times I miss others all around." She grew up around a werewolf back.

"Business is going alright. Lots of work in the fall and early winter. I still got the nice windfall from doing that job with Sprite. Glad to hear your beemer is doing well. I recently had an out of state person ask me to do up a baja bug for them that was a bit fun. I try to take all the work I can this time of year."

Diana Prince has posed:
A light laugh comes from Diana at the suggestion of gaming together with Cassie. She gently shakes her head, as her eyes venture upward as though she were looking at the bedrooms on the floor above. "I am not sure she games, at all... Some of the others who have stayed here did, but Cassie I believe just gets in to the social media elements. Her 'fans' as it were." Diana says with a growing grin creeping across her facial features.

She then nods softly a pair of times at the talk of Mercy's work. "I have tried to nudge people toward your garage, but I am never sure if they take my word seriously with regard to your talents." A soft headshake follows after she states those things. "I'll keep pushing though. I cannot have you struggling, after the work you did for me, and that rather impressive job you did for that one customer. What became of them and their AI driven vehicle?" She asks.

Her right hand motions toward a plate of Mini-Quiches, as she reaches for one herself. "Sun dried tomatoes, mushrooms and feta. Ferdi calls them 'Olympian Quiche.'" She says with a little grin as she pops one in to her mouth.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
Mercy gives a knowing 'ah' to the explanation about Cassie. "I can see how you can have a hard time with that. You strike me as a woman after my own heart, and someone who likes her privacy. Always good to keep that little wall up so we have a quiet place of our own as it were." Mercy sips her own tea from time to time.

"Business has stepped up some, and I appreciate you sharing the word around. Places like mine live and die by word of mouth. Some have trouble trusting a female mechanic for some reason. But that's fine. I am happy to let my work stand for itself."

The topic of Sprite's car makes her smile. "Oh she's taking very good care of that car and seems to really value it. She looked good when I saw her a bit ago, both the woman and the car. Just so it is clear which 'her' that I mean." With another motion Mercy will nibble on it while chuckling about the name. "Well they are good. No matter you call them. You know, I should take you to some of my older stomping grounds sometime. Do a weekend camping or something. I get you are busy, but just an offer to try to get to happen sometime."

Diana Prince has posed:
Another light laugh comes from diana at the topic of Cassie and the social media addiction. "Oh, I have all the standard accounts too, I simply do not dwell upon them. We have a social media manager here at the Embassy who handles most of them. I do enjoy sharing images though, and seeing some of the responses. But not to the level that our dear young Wonder girl does." She can't help but grin again at that before she leans forward against the counter's edge, and takes another sip of her dark red wine.

A pair of nods follow, as she hears the suggestion of a camping out scenario. "I would enjoy that, as a matter of fact. It has been a long time since I had the opportunity, and a excuse to actually camp out in the traditional sense."

"A month ago, I was wandering around in the woods in northern New York state, looking for a few missing persons. We were able to find them, thankfully they were all safe too, but that was the closest to a camping trip I have had the chance to go on for ... years now."

She smiles then. "I am glad to hear about Sprite and her car. Let them both know that I hope they're doing well, should you see them again soon."

The Princess reaches out to another dish, pulling a napkin off from atop it that had been artfully folded to keep it warm. She pushes the dish toward Mercy now. "Themysciran Artichoke Cups. A must have." She says with a continued little grin. "Spinach and artichoke dip, bite sized phyllo cups. I grew up on these little delights."

"What is your ideal time of year to go in to the great outdoors?" She asks then.

Mercy Thompson has posed:
"I promise I won't ask you to camp the way I really do some times. Pretty sure you can't quiet pull that off." Mercy is amused about the idea however. Mercy says, "I got a tent I use at times too and make it all work for the times I get someone to go with me." She hears the news about the search and rescue and Mercy frowns, "If you ever need a tracker. I hope you keep my number in mind on stuff like that."

Mercy pops another hour derv into her mouth and chews on it a bit and nods along attentively as Diana talks. "I will definitely pass that along to Sprite. She shared with me some historical recipes I'll have to bring over sometime for you." When the new dish is revealed, Mercy holds her braid back and leans int to sniff all along it. "Oh that smells delightful. Such a treat for me. Thanks!" She goes to nibble away at them savoring each bite and smelling at it to really dial in her senses to the experience. "I like the heat. Late spring and early summer are great. My fur goes great in the fall in some places too so I can blend in. Makes hunting those fattening up rabbits fun as well."

Diana Prince has posed:
After enjoying one of the spinach cups herself, Diana dabs at the edges of her mouth with one of the cloth napkins folded up in a wooden box in the middle of the island counter. She smiles at what the other says, as she softly nods her head along to Mercy's words. "I am a pretty fair tracker, but I will keep that in mind. I would be curious to see you in action in that role, admittedly. After I found out what you are capable of in that regard, needless to say it piqued my interest in what the effects are of that... transformation. Your senses, that is, and how heightened they become when in your differing forms... Of course, that is me assuming there is a difference at all."

The Princess indulges in another sip of her wine before she smiles softly once more upon lowering it back to the polished countertop surface with a little click of glass upon granite. "The autumn season is what I would choose for camping. Though it might be a little past the ideal time for that now. Just seeing the leaves change... it is ... magical." She grins once more before gently shaking her head and glancing down for a second.

"I assume you take very little with you when you go on your own, especially when hunting rabbits." She says in a soft voice, smiling more when she puts her eyes back upon the other's own.

"You said you were not from this area originally, yes? I assume your home is where you most prefer to hunt, and live off the land, so to speak."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
"Well I imagine you're a good tracker but you don't have my nose. I'd always be happy to show off sometime." Mercy shrugs and says, "To my friends I try to be a less closed book and I hate telling lies." She will demure and deflect but Mercy almost never lies. She taps at her nose and says, "My sense are a bit better when I change but I know I am better then human all the time. Why I have to be carefulin some places. Too much stimuli and all that."

Clearly a fan of the most recent offering Mercy will help herself to a few more bites as she savors them and nibbles away happily washing it down with her tea. "You can really see them in the trees through Montana. There are a lot of places where you can go and forget civilization is. "Sometimes when I go on my own I park with extra stuff in the car. Hide my keys and just go on a run for a day or two. Not often, but I have. Usually I do shorter runs to clear my head."

Mercy motions to herself. "I was born on the west coast but mom was too young for a kid... especially when she found a coyote cub in the crib. She reached out for help and I got handed over to a werewolf pack. I grew up there with foster parents until college and that's sort of when I got with the 'real' world. Took me a long time to learn how to deal with humans honestly."

Diana Prince has posed:
The bit about her nose, and the sense that it provides her, has Diana once more grinning toward Mercy, light and soft, but still clearly amused by her words. "Do not ask Donna about my nose. she will say something terribly rude, to try and smooth over her own insecurities." She initially responds, ever needing to get in that little jab at her sister, just incase she were eaves dropping somehow! "I would say that my sight and hearing is stronger than my sense of smell, but I know that my sense of smell is better than most as well, to be sure... But, I'm willing to guess you outdo me on it even."

Another smile is sent to Mercy as Diana reaches to another small plate of cheese cubes speared with toothpicks, the cubes containing a tastey dip inside of them.

"I have been dealing with the Humans of the mortal world for over a hundred years now, and I am not sure that I even understand them most of the time..." She says in a slightly quieter tone, but it's clear she is being a bit silly with that statement, as she shows another soft smile toward Mercy then.

"I would say that it seems you went through a lot, growing up, but that you have come out on the otherside better for it." She compliments Mercy, or attempts to, a warm expression accompanying her words.

There comes a clearing of a throat off to the side of the room, in the double doors leading in to the dining room. There stands a rather imposing figure of the Kithotaur head chef, Ferdinand, even dressed in a white Chef's outfit, impecably clean and well kept. "Ladies. Dinner is ready for your indulgence." The deep-voiced Chef says as he offers a light bow to them both.

"Thank you, Ferdi." She responds as she motions to Mercy. "This is Mercy, our guest for this evening."

"Madam." Ferdinand replies, "It is an honor to meet another friend of the Princess'. I hope that you enjoy the meal tonight."

Mercy Thompson has posed:
"There is not much I would try to claim I can 'outdo' you in, Diana." Mercy laughing as she sets her glass down after a sip of it. "Fixing cars, being an animal, and tracking are about it. Well that and online gaming maybe." Circling back to one of the earlier comments of their meal.

She'll try a bit of the cheese, and uses the toothpick to point at the other woman, "We should swap stories sometime. Though I always have to remind myself how little people pay attention to body language. Had a guy try to make 'meaningful eye contact' on a date. It took everything I could to not growl at him and tell him to quit it."

"I imagine you have some 'younger day stories' too. Though for me it was more the pack alpha's mate trying kill me." She grins wide showing a bit of her mean side, "though I got the best of her so many times."

"Hello Ferdi, this is delicious so far. Thank you." She nods to the pie, "I made a pie and brought it over. I'm sure I will greatly enjoy the meal, just as much as I am enjoying the company." Flickering a wink at Diana there.

Diana Prince has posed:
diana gathers up the pie plate that Mercy had brought. She's met half way by the lumbering Ferdinand who accepts it with a slight bow of his head. "I shall have it served at the end of the meal, Miss Mercy." He says, with his version of a smile touching his bulky facial features.

As the Chef starts toward the dining room, he continues past the table toward the kitchen, while Diana gathers up her glass and one of the small plates of appetizers, loading it with a few quick grabs from each plate before she grins toward Mercy. "I shall have to tell you about my most recent dating experience, with a lovely man from a nearby Fire Department. I keep having to run out on him on our dates due to Justice League demands, or other such emergencies... He is quite patient with me, though." She says as she offers her right elbow to Mercy, carrying that small plate and her glass in her hands.

"Maybe we could double-date some time. I would love to hear about your experiences with people doubting your mechanic abilities, simply because of your gender." She says with a grin. "Such things are only good to laugh at, in my experience."

diana will lead Mercy to the dining room through the double doors archway, where Ferdinand is already bringing out their meal for the evening, all prepared with the quality of the finest Manhattan restaurants.

"Ferdinand knows how it is to be judged solely by his apearance." Diana notes as they stride on in.

"Do I ever!" The large Chef says as he finishes setting up their places at the dark wood dining table. "I would be happy to regail you both with stories near the end of the dinner tonight!" He says in a booming, friendly, tone.
