Date of Scene: 19 November 2023
Location: Pezzini House
Synopsis: Sara returns home from offing a major demon, shared some of her regrets with Joshua over coffee and spends the night on the couch.
Cast of Characters: Sara Pezzini, Joshua Foley

Sara Pezzini has posed:
It was late, much later than Sara usually comes home. She had sent a text message to Joshua that was lacking in details, it merely read: Got called into action.

Now as the clock struck one in the morning, she slipped quietly into the house, expecting him to be in bed. If he was awake, he'd heard the motorcycle pull up and into the garage, the repaired back door unlock, and her enter the kitchen.

Joshua Foley has posed:
Joshua had curled up on the couch with a blanket. The bed doesn't feel the same without her there, his feet tucked beneath him. The show he was watching had long sense ended, the screen on the screen saver.

It's the sound that stirs him awake. A mrphle of a noise and Joshua unfolds from beneath the blanket, holding it like a shawl as he tucks his feet into his slippers as he moves towards the kitchen. "Babe?" he asks quietly. Just to make sure it's her.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
After the Impling attack, Sara had purchased a new coffee pot that had even more bells and whistles. She'd even explained it as the perfect reason to upgrade. Upon entering the kitchen it is clicked on before she leans against the counter.

Hearing Joshua call out, she calls back softly, "Yeah, I'm home, just making coffee."

When he reaches the kitchen he can see her leaning there, several bruises on her face and neck. "Where you asleep?"

Joshua Foley has posed:
"Just napping. Was trying to stay awake til you got home, didn't want to fight the new coffee pot." A small smirk, but there is concern in those grey eyes as he gives her a once-over. Some would see it as him leering at her, but he's studying her to make sure there's no injuries to her. Making note of the ones on her face and neck, he sucks in a breath and immediately starts to approach her.

"If you don't mind, I'll take a cup as well and if you can, you can tell me what kept you out late?" he asks in concern as he moves to stand in front of her. "May I?" he asks. "I know you can heal on your own, but if I can speed it up? Especially on your ribs. What happened?"

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara had seen him look at others with 'leering' eyes, so she had a pretty good idea what he was doing... which makes her chuckle. Gesturing to the coffee pot she says, "Brewing a whole pot."

When he reaches her, the expression on her face shifts slightly and for one second her eyes glaze over. He's seen it before, when Witchblade fully demands her attention and she can't completely block him doing it.

"He's not keen to the idea," she says when her eyes return to normal. "He doesn't want you to wear yourself out... so you need to realize two things from this. First, he's actually being concerned about your well being, and that's a major step forward." She grins at this.

"Secondly, if you do heal something you can't wear yourself out or he'll get ticked off," she continues. "Deal? Now, as for what happened... let me have coffee and I'll try to explain it."

Joshua Foley has posed:
"I'm flattered, but in the scheme of things, your injuries are light. I can do them without getting worn out, and the coffee will perk me right up." And before she can protest him further, Joshua steps into Sara for an embrace and a kiss. Because really, lip to lip contact is the fastest and best way to deliver healing that she needs.

Not that anyone else is going to get this treatment for such light wounds. She's special. His hands slip to her waist, finding bare skin to touch and heal that way as well. Once he's satisified, he steps out of the embrace and closes his eyes. Deep breathe and he's fine.

And with that, he moves to get down a couple of mugs for the pair of them. "I assume this is tied to what happened at the shoppe." he comments quietly. "I arrived after Nettie went missing. Did you find her?"

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara returns the kiss, letting her left arm move to to wrap around him a hug, then caress his back lightly. When he steps away, she has to shake her head to clear it from the healing and Witchblade's words.

"It did, and yes, we found her and brought her back," she finally says, going to the fridge to get the cream out. "She was in a realm of Hell, being held prisoner by... Demogorgoose." Just saying the name made her want to laugh, but the fact that she'd killed it came fresh to her mind.

"Hannigan, Stadler, Gutierrez, and I went through a vortex into the realm to get her. It wasn't a realm that demon should have been in."

Joshua Foley has posed:
"She's okay then?" Joshua brightens. It's not like he wasn't already in a good mood because Sara was okay, because he was. But knowing that mom was okay makes him feel more at ease.

"Demogorgoose?" he asks, his lips twisting in thought and confusion. "What, like a pokemon? Is it what the Goosifier evolving?" comes the thoughtful frown. "Everyone is alright? And what real was that?"

Sara Pezzini has posed:
That was the last straw, calling the Demogorgoose a pokemon, and Sara busts up for a moment. He wasn't wrong in the concept, just not something you shove in a ball. "Oh gods," she manages to breath out, almost doubling over before she regains herself.

"Demogorgoose is the parent demon of the others," she explains, stepping over with the cream to stare at the pot still brewing. "Yes, everyone is alright. I think Nettie will require time to regain her strength, but no one was hurt. The others went for Nettie while I dealt with the demon."

The second the pot was done, she pulled it out to full both cups. "As for the realm, that's a little more difficult to explain. Most Christians believe there is only one hell, where Satan reigns as king, but there are actually numerous hells. Some believe nine levels of hell, other's say thirteen... Witchblade hasn't told me the exact number, but they /all/ have demonic life of some kind."

Joshua Foley has posed:
"I mean, I was raised Christian with the traditional idea of hell. But I've also read Dante's 'Inferno' and understand that concept as well. But there's more than that? I shouldn't be surprised." When Sara brings over the mugs, he moves over in case she wants to sit next to him instead of across from.

"So did you deak with it?" he asks her, because she's here now and alive. And she doesn't stink of goose fat and sulfur otherwise, she'd not gotten a kiss at all. Cause gross.

But at least she was laughing and that puts him in a better mood to see her in good spirits. Things went well is how he's translating it.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sitting down beside Joshua, she takes a sip of her coffee. "Yes," she states bluntly and he can see something painful flicker in her eyes for the briefest of moment. "It won't be bothering anyone again."

Shaking it off, she offers a smile. "I feel for Belinda though, cause that place was just horrible sticky, scent, awful... I think she'll be showering for a least a week."

Joshua Foley has posed:
"Good." Joshua responds, his arm going around her side to hold her tightly. He missed that moment of... something and didn't recognize it as he listens to the rest of it.

"I can imagine. It was not kind to us when the pair of us were cleaning the shop after the attack. I'll bring her some treats when I get a chance." he promises as squeezes her and then lets go.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara falls silent as she sips at her coffee, leaning into Joshua with her body when he wraps his arm around her. Her mind wanders off a moment, remembering the last words of the Demogorgoose before she has to shakes herself out of it again.

"If it's kin returns to this realm, Witchblade will deal with them," she says quietly. "He has sworn it, and thus it will occur, but..." she glances over at him. "I don't like killing. I'd prefer a more reasonable approach, sending them back to their own realms, but it's not an option."

She sighs softly as he moves away, "There are aspects to this... joining, that I don't talk about that often, but with you, I have to. To understand me and love me, is to understand that I don't always get a say in what happens in a fight."

Joshua Foley has posed:
Josh's hands trace random little patterns on Sara as he holds her. He knows he has nowhere near the experience that she has when it comes to dealing with the supernatural, but he can understand one thing she feels. "I don't like that my options with my abilities are heal... or kill. There's no inbetween. When I want to hurt someone, to stop them, it becomes all in. There's no just hurt. It's kill."

He blows out a breath and nuzzles in against her as he draws in his breath. "But yeah... I get the idea that maybe I'm having to share you. Which is fine. I know your calling is the Witchblade and I'm just the guy in your life. The Witchblade is forever and..." he releases one of his hands and smirks. "You may decide you want something better next week." he teases lightly. "Or you know, I get crushed by a giant angry goose."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara was just starting to relax a little, he could feel the tension starting to release in her body and then he once again managed to degrade himself. Pulling a deep breath into her chest, she lets it out slowly and decides to address what he said one thing at a time.

"You are still new to your abilities, and have had no training with them," she starts, staying close and caressing his arm lightly. "It is possible that you will be able to learn to find a middle ground between heal and kill."

First part addressed, she caresses her hand up and very lightly smacks him in the back of the head again. "Stop insulting yourself," she states plainly with the Gibb's smack. "I know you are trying to tease, but you also believe it, so it's not a joke. Now, the get crushed by a giant angry goose part, that's a joke because I've taken care of that risk."

She takes another breath in and once again attempts to relax. "I didn't get to choose this life, it was chosen for me by him. He claims my blood matches a long line or something like that, but it doesn't entirely make me overjoyed by the fact that this is my life." She pauses a moment, clearly having to listen to Witchblade about something.

"This is the part where he tells me that there is no other on the planet, that I'm the only one, that I should feel blessed," she snorts softly with a laugh. "It was much harder for me in the beginning, but it's gotten better. We've been through a lot together."

Joshua Foley has posed:
"Guess what." Josh grumbles slightly after the smack, but it's not in anger. Instead he leans in and kisses her at the base of her throat before pulling back. "If anyone's blessed here, it's me, because you chose me. And we are going to get through a lot together. And I'll learn and adapt to me abilities." he comments in firm resolution.

As she relaxes, he holds her again, with that slight caress of his hands before he clears his throat. "And it is harder. But only because..." a blush and cough. "...you make me that way."

With that, he goes after his coffee before Sara catches on. Innocent siiiiip, his eyes visible above the mug twinkling with mischief.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara enjoys the kiss to her neck, perhaps a little too much because if she could purr, she would. "We are blessed together," she states plainly. "And there is going to be a lot that happens along the way that we will face together."

As for catching on, she does so instantly because the minute he says it, she is laughing. "Oh poor baby," she laughs, making a fake pouty lip. "Does I make it harder... how hard? Should I hang a towel off it, or more like several coat hangers?"

She grabs her own coffee for a sip, then nudges him lightly before laying back against him. "It's my job to make it harder, and more challenging, and perhaps add some difficulty to the mix."

Joshua Foley has posed:
"Well there you go!" Joshua apparently never gets to make the coffee, because well, Sara is more than enough attention. There's a playful nip of her lower lip when she pouts and a tug on her robe to loosen it.

"You can maybe hang one hanger off it." he mutters as he twists to start to push her back down against the furniture. "You are the more nimble of the two of us." he points out with a warm breath against her ear, and his voice darkens as he husks.

"Show me how much harder you can make it."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sometimes right after you kill a Demogorgoose, you have to go home, confess your soul to your boyfriend over coffee and then spend the night on the couch. For Sara, this wasn't entirely a new thing but it was so much better when it was with someone you really, really cared about... and Joshua, she really, really cared about him.
