Kyle Rayner has posed:
Kyle Rayner invited Yaretzi Acama to pizza. They knew each other, yes. However, it's only recently that he knew -her- outside of the mask. Did he understand her reasoning? A thousand times yes. But he wanted to make sure that she felt the secret was safe. So, Kyle was going out of his way to comfort his friend. That's why he invited her to pizza, his treat.

it was chance that he heard about Patsy's Pizzeria (affectionately called Patsy's to locals and fans). Honestly, it's the mixture of ingredients and sauce that reminded him of pizzas back in Europe. They really cornered that market in a few ways. This place was a close second, or third, so it would do.

Pizza pallets aside, Kyle figured the food is universal. Something everything liked, albeit in different ways thanks to toppings. And he waited there for her. Dressed in a pair of medium blue jeans, a blue t-shirt with white images of game controllers with text underneath that read, "Choose your Weapon" and a dark green winter coat. A little on the nose, but t was comfortable. So, he didn't have the heart to exchange the coat. He'll actually wait outside for her before he considered going in. It's a kindness, but if she went in super early then Kyle waited for nothing.

Yaretzi Acama has posed:
It's within a minute of the previously-arranged time that Yaretzi arrives outside the pizzeria. Without preamble, she says, "Let's get inside. Hace chingos de frio!", as she walks right past Kyle to the door, which she pulls open to get inside. His ring would helpfully translate the Spanish as, "(colloquialism, perjorative) It's very cold!"

Once inside, she pulls off her gloves and unzips the jacket she's wearing as she approaches the register. The Patsy's staff member who's there says, "Hi. Your usual?", to her, and gets a nod in response. "Oh... and he's with me, too", is the girl's reply, thumbing back at Kyle, assuming her followed her in... and only then looks back to see if he actually did.

Kyle Rayner has posed:
A smile pulls at his lips seeing Yaretzi and Kyle slips inside. Yes, the ring did translate for him. However, he knew those words before that, too. Moving into the place, he smirked then paused since she had a usual. Jade colored eyes gazed at her, "What's your usual?" he asked with some confusion and amusement that wove between his words. He looked over the menu. Kyle had a usual, too. However, he may have been as regular as Yaretzi. 'I wouldn't mind paying for us," Kyle pointed out. He waited a moment to hear about her usual.

Yaretzi Acama has posed:
"A slice of pepperoni and Dr Pepper is what I usually get", is Yaretzi's reply... then she grins as Kyle offers to pay and steps aside to give him to order, and leave him in front of the register. She's not at all shy about accepting such an offer! Stuffing her gloves into the inner pockets of her jacket, she pulls off the knitted beanie she wears on her head and does the same to it, shaking her hair loose from how it'd been wound up into the beanie.

Kyle Rayner has posed:
"Two slices. Bacon and onion. Diet Doctor Pepper," Kyle smirked and went to pay. He was amused by her sudden move. After it was all paid for, Kyle looked back to her, "Find us a spot. We'll have a good lunch and go from there?" Kyle offered a little bit, letting her take lead a lttle bit. Again, it was all about her comfort.

Yaretzi Acama has posed:
Yaretzi nods and simply takes a few steps to the nearest table, where she sits herself down. Patsy's isn't busy... at least not in the restaurant proper; their delivery business is doing good today, though, as most folks are choosing to stay home and have their pizza brought to them -- probably because of the colder weather.

"What made you decide to invite me out for pizza, anyway?", she asks.

Kyle Rayner has posed:
"Well, I know who you are. So, pizza to show things haven't changed and you can trust me," Kyle said honestly about that question once he at down. Jade colored eyes slip from her toward the kitchen area for a second. "You took a big risk the last time we were together. I'm trying to show you that risk wasn't in vain." Kyle leaned back in his chair a moment. "I just don't want you giving me the side-eye wondering if I betrayed you. That would never be the case, and I understood why you kept that secret close to the chest."

Yaretzi Acama has posed:
Nodding her head, Yaretzi kinda side-eyes towards the counter. Thankfully, there's no one there as they've all headed to the back to work on the orders they have at hand. "I hafta protect who I hafta protect", she says in a tone that awknowledges what Kyle's said. "I didn't expect you to pick a place so close to where I actually live, though!", she adds.

Kyle Rayner has posed:
"Trust me, I understand," Kyle held that secret close from several people still. So, he understood it well. Then he paused that comment. "Close to? I happened upon it a bit ago. It kind of tastes like the pizzas in Europe. So, I will go out of my way to come here," he admitted. A small chuckle rumbled from his lips. "The rest was coincidental, honest," and he even hld his hand up in a Scout's salute.

Yaretzi Acama has posed:
Yaretzi gives a narrow-eye glare at Kyle, though it's clearly a mocking sort of glare and not done in earnest.

"Two slices of bacon and onion, one slice pepperoni, two drinks!", is called as the order's being placed on the counter.

Yaretzi's getting to her feet even as the words are being spoken, and reaching for the tray on which the food and drinks are placed. "I grew up with Patsy's as the nearest pizza place, so it's my favorite pizza anyway. I've always heard it was better that most, and now that I've had a chance to try others, I kinda hafta agree", she says as she puts the tray down on the table and sits back down.

Kyle Rayner has posed:
Kyle smirked and went to grab th drinks and slices, no ring requred. He moved back to their place. "Everyone's going to have favorites. Most of the time it's what you grew up on," Kyle admitted. Although he bucked at that rule since he set up shop here.

"It is good," he admitted. "So, tll me about yourself. Whatever you want to trust me with. I shared a bit about myself here and there, your turn when you're ready," he grinned at her. At least he was going to be in good company today.

Yaretzi Acama has posed:
"You already know more than most do", Yaretzi admits as she reaches for the shakers on the table, to sprinkle red pepper flakes and parmesan cheese onto her slice of pizza. "... it's just me and my mom and dad", she adds. "And it's been kinda hard working... the gig you know about around my schoolwork."

Kyle Rayner has posed:
Snagging the red pepper flakes, he began to sprinkle it. "Our social club," he waited for a moment to make sure the coded language sank in. "They might have connections on the school front that could help you. Maybe offer a reputable alternative that would work with your schedule. A place that encouraged a self-paced environment," he offered as an alternative. He didn't want to see her flounder a bit. So, Kyle tried to figure out an alternative for her.

Yaretzi Acama has posed:
Yaretzi nods. "I'd... hafta figure out a way to explain that to my parents. They worked real hard to be able to afford my classes already, and the grants and scholarships I've gotten along the way helped a *ton*, too. It'd almost be a slap in their face if I just suddenly started doing something different...", she says, solemnly, before lifting her slice two-handed for her first bite.

Kyle Rayner has posed:
Kyle nodded as he heard the story. Everything about how the schooling came due to hardwork by family and herself. All of those grants and scholarships that were there. "You could see if your program has that at your university," he was doubtful. Yet the optimist in him did not want to give up. So, he kept just trying to find the "Everyone's happy" option. Taking a bite of the pizza after it was done, Kyle gave a satisified nod. "How do you balance a personal life with everything you do?" he asks honestly wondering if the answer changed thanks to new details he knew.

Yaretzi Acama has posed:
Yaretzi chuckles, taking a sip of her soda through the straw. She names a small, local community college. "It's not a big-name university... I checked, too, and they just don't have those kinds of programs. I'd need to, at least, finish out the semester and hope credits will transfer to wherever else I end up at, if I decide to try your idea", she says. She takes another bite of her pizza, and Kyle asks another question. As she chews, she shrugs her shoulders, and mumbles something around her food that sound like, "I dunno!"

Kyle Rayner has posed:
Sipping at his own soda, Kyle listened. Thn a potental olutiontaartd to show itself. Yaretzi mentioned th magical word "Transfer." And that was the other thing. "You could always ask your advisor. They can talk to you about the scholarships and grants, if they transfer with th credits, too," Kyle offered. He was fresh out of college. So, Kyle still thought like a student ometimes. Had various ins and outs due to everything being in the recent past than distant past.

Yaretzi Acama has posed:
"I can't really -afford- to go any place else, tho", Yaretzi says, as she continues to eat. "Even if someone can help me find a place that has that kinda program, and would let my credits transfer, I can't afford those kinda places. I know, 'cause I've looked for 'em", she says, pouty.

Kyle Rayner has posed:
Kyle's own face pouts a little bit when he hars that phrase. "Well, whatevr i can do to hlp. Ask," he offers as a consolation prize. it's not as good as being able to give her funding to afford a place like thaat. However, he would do what he could to make sure her efforts would not be wastd if he could help it smehow. that was his hope.

Yaretzi Acama has posed:
"Well, like I said... I've looked. I can't afford those kinda places without lots more scholarships and stuff like that. I didn't get a lot in the way of financial aid, too, so... yeah, I couldn't do that kinda thing", Yaretzi says.

Kyle Rayner has posed:
"Well," Kyle tried to pivot and savlage the conversation, "What are fun things you do when you're not being social with schmucks like me and school? You gotta have some small sliver of a life. Tell me more about that?" he paused for a moment knoewng some of his habits couldn't be explained within earshots of people. jadde eye looked at her as he was curious. he'll bring th pizza up to his lps to taake the next few bites.

Yaretzi Acama has posed:
"I play video games online. I have a few games through Steam, but not any of the newer, expensive ones, yet. I mostly play free to play stuff", Yaretzi says. After another side-eye towards the counter, making sure no one's listening, she adds, "... and my side gig, these days, can be kinda fun in its own way, too."
