Location:	The Waterin' Hole - Somewhere Between NYC and Westchester
Synopsis:	Dancing and drinking was done, and Sam destroyed a condemned building to Izzy's delight!

Isabel Kane has posed:
It's been a few days since the impromptu run-in at Harry's and Isabel reaches out to Sam to see if he's game for another date. This time she suggests a 'downhome' little dive bar honkytonk where there's still peanut shells on the floor, cheap beer in the pitchers, and live country music to dance to. They can meet at the bar and have a few drinks, do a little dancing.

Izzy shows up promptly on time, and dressed for the occasion! Her brown hair has just a bit of curl to it under the worn Stetson on her head, an off the shoulder peasant blouse, a brown suede fringed skirt that ends at mid-thigh, and worn brown cowboy boots. All under a long ranch coat that helps protect her at least a bit from the cold.

Standing just outside, she ignores the whistles and catcalls as she waits for Sam to arrive.

Sam Guthrie shows up in his truck and parks off to one side. He steps out of the truck and he actually has a pair of black cowboy boots on with silver accents at the tips. A pair of jeans with a black belt and silver buckle to match the boots. A black t-shirt with a blue flannel with a wool interior. He pulls a hat off his head and looks in the side view mirror making sure his hair is ok, before tossing his hat back in the truck. He then turns looking about and when he sees Izzy he starts to walk over to her with a smile.

Isabel Kane has posed:
Looking up when she hears the crunch of footsteps, Izzy can't help but smile at the sight of Sam, straightening from her lean on the wall and taking in his appearance with a glance. "Well, Hell. Proper country boy, ain'tcha?" Leaning up, she brushes a kiss across his cheek and pulls back, still smiling, "Missed ya this past week, ya look great."

Turning, she offers her hand and smiles up at him, "Let's go shake th' rafters an' cut loose, cowboy." Izzy moves to hold the door open for him.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie smiles and gives a slow whistle as he takes her in, not the cat call, but a soft appreciation of her look. "Sounds like a good idea, and am glad to see you too." He lets her lead the way and says "Hope you have had a good week."

Isabel Kane has posed:
Isabel shrugs out of her coat once they're inside, tucking it behind the bar with a wink for one of the female bartenders before turning to draw Sam towards a small table that's along the wall but near the dance floor. "It was long, but mostly quiet. Got somethin' big comin' up this weekend, so I'm really glad y'all could come out tonight. So. Pitcher first, or dancin' first? I checked up on this band, they do some great covers of newer an' classic songs, but they also toss in a couple of their own tunes, so should be some great music."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods his head a bit listening to her, and hmmms softly for a moment and says "We can order the beer, and hit the floor while they get it here, so it is back before we get done." He offers he removes his jacket and puts it on the back of his chair.

Isabel Kane has posed:
"Sounds like a plan to me," Izzy grins at him, glancing around as Sam hangs up his coat, flagging down a waitress. "Pitcher of Bud, two mugs. We're gonna hit th' floor, here's my card t' start a tab." She hands over a credit card to the waitress and gives her name for the tab, then grabs Sam by the hand with a smile, "Let's go, I can't wait t' see yer moves."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie is beat to the tab, but lets her without a fight. He grins a bit and says "Well, if you want, Ah will try not to step on your feet." He tells her, but as they get out on the floor, Sam seems to have pretty good rhythm. He watches the others for just a moment, and picks up the dance they are doing pretty quick.

Isabel Kane has posed:
Izzy grins at him, "Ya picked up th' tab on th' first date.. my turn now." Then they're hitting the floor and Sam's proving to have some rhythm! Izzy has some moves herself, this is definitely not her first time on the dance floor. She moves with him, twisting and twirling, quick-stepping and turning with him. "Yer good!"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie smirks a bit and says "Ah try." He offers. The fact Sam used to be very self conscious on the dance floor is hard to tell. Classes with Stevie and then actually going out dancing at times has helped that. He leads her along, and says "Your pretty good yourself." He offers in compliment.

Isabel Kane has posed:
"Thanks! Ain't done this in a hot minute, wasn't sure I'd remember how..." Izzy laughs lightly and lets him twirl her out, then back in. Pressing close, she moves with him and grins, "So how was yer week, Sam? Anythin' interestin' come 'cross yer desk?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie shakes his head and says "Not a lot, but Ah been making sure Paige has been getting settles in again, wanting to make sure everything is ok with her." He offers a smile and says "Big brother habits run deep." He tells her

Isabel Kane has posed:
"Aw, now see, that's sweet." Isabel smiles warmly at him, squeezing his hand lightly. She cants her head to one side and lifts both brows, "She okay with us? Like.. no problems with us datin'?" Because family is important, and he's got a big one!

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie says, "Well she has just met ya and did not mention any problems she had. Ah think she thinks your ok, your probably the person Ah have dated she can see herself hanging out with the most to be honest." He while turning her in a spin."

Isabel Kane has posed:
"Oh good... ya mentioned makin' sure everythin's okay with her, wanted t' make sure there weren't no problems with us," Izzy offers a quick smile towards him before going into the spin, then coming back in against him with a delighted laugh. "Hey, I'd be happy t' take her out fer lunch an' some shoppin'. Dunno bout her, but my first winter up here was crazy, an' I thought I'd be good with what I had from Iowa but ohhhhhhhhhhh no.. weather here is nuts."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods, and says "Well Ah think she was a bit more ok with it here, than Ah was to be honest. Ah liked it here, but Ah felt guilty not being back home and all. We got snow a decent amount being up in the mountains, Ah think that helped too."

Isabel Kane has posed:
Chuckling, Izzy gives a nod and grins towards Sam, "We had snow in Iowa too, but those icy winds comin' off th' ocean... that's new. An' all th' slush from all th' traffic... that's new too. It can be difficult t' maneuver. Ices over fast." She glances towards the stage as the song winds down and back to Sam, "Want t' pause for a drink or keep goin'?"

Sam Guthrie nods and will lead her back to the table. He seems in good shape as they dancing has not phased him. He holds her chair out for her, and says "Ah'll pour for you." He offers as he has experience pouring beers.

Izzy moves back tothe table with him, smiling at his offer and giving a nod, "Thanks.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie smiles and once his and her drinks are poured, he will have a seat looking over to her with a smile.

Taking the drink offered, Izzy smiles back at him and leans forward over the table to speak a little more easily, "So tell me somethin'... y'all grew up in a big family.. did ya do any gardenin' or farmin' t' help feed all the mouths?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods his head a bit and says "Yea, we always had a garden, Ma would can stuff during the fall. Sometimes, we would head over to neighbor's place, and help them pick stuff as it was coming in, if they had a big enough place needed the help.

Isabel Kane has posed:
"Well, so... I'm wonderin'... how many kids are still at home, an' are y'all still needin' some help t' get by? Cause, well.. I got the' farm up in Iowa.. an' there's a nice lil farmhouse what goes with it... could use a good foreman for th' farm if any of yer siblings would be amenable. Comes with a salary, room'n'board.. fresh food.." Isabel offers with a faint smile, "Would be doin' me a huge favor, too. Make sure I got someone I can trust watchin' over th' place."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks over and says "Well, right now, the ones who are old enough are either here or taking some college classes back home. "He starts counting them off Joshua, Joelle, Elizabeth, Paige, Melody, Jebediah, and the twins Lewis and Cissie. Then there is Ray, he is our foster brother, but he is family now." If there is another sister he names her as well, but comics are still not sure on if there is one more.

Isabel Kane has posed:
Nodding, Izzy smiles at him, "Well, if ya wanna spread th' word amongst th' siblings... if any of 'em are in school for agriculture, they'd be welcome t' run th' farmstead up in Iowa. Got some good field hands out there, but I could use a good foreman t' make sure everythin's run smooth." She takes a swallow of her beer before asking, "Who's Ray?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods, and says "Will keep it in mind. Ray was a friend of Jeb, and turned out his dad and ma had feelings towards one another. Then there was an incident where his dad was killed and Ma took Ray in as one of us."

Isabel Kane has posed:
"Aw... that's so nice! I'm glad y'all got that sorted, an' that Ray got a home with ya," Izzy smiles at Sam and glances down into her mug, then takes a swallow. The smile fades a little as she murmurs, "I miss grampa an' mom somethin' fierce. I always had family around growin' up, y'know? An' then suddenly I didn't have any."

Sam Guthrie nods a bit to this and reaches over putting a hand on her free hand and says "Ah know it is not the same when Pa passed Ah still had the rest of the family, but Ah think Ah understand just a little bit." He offers her, squeezing her hand softly.

Isabel Kane has posed:
Izzy smiles softly at the squeeze to her hand and gives a nod, "Thanks Sam. I do alright most of th' time, then somethin' silly will remind me an' it hits all over again..." She lets out a breath and brightens her smile towards him, "C'mon, lets finish these drinks an' get back on that dance floor."

Sam Guthrie nods and leads her back out to the dance floor. He leads her through a nice quick dance, and then a slower one plays and he gently holds her close to him. "Well, know ya got a friend around now." He offers her.

Isabel Kane has posed:
Isabel moves with him on the dance floor, able to keep up with him through the quick dance, then smiling as they settle into the slower one. Swaying around the floor, her arms around his shoulders, she smiles up at him, "I do, an' it's great. I really missed this.. gettin' t' know someone.." She doesn't look away, enjoying focusing on him, "Do you still stay at the school, or somewhere in the city?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks over and says "Ah stay at the school most of the time, Ah have a place Ah can stay in town, but it has some attachments, Ah am so-so about reminding myself of." He admits.

Isabel Kane has posed:
"Hmmmmm.. well, I could visit you at th school sometime, then? Maybe meet some of your friends. I don't think Miss Grey will mind. I'm trying to show that I can be helpful, friendly. I know not all the Shi'ar are that.. y'know.. personable." Izzy smiles at him and lifts a shrug, "We could shoot some pool or just hang out somewhere." The mention of attachments to his place int he city has her nodding, "That's fair. If you want.. I mean, when you're ready.. you can always come over to my place. I cook a mean stew.. we could have a barbecue cook-off?" She offers a quick smile.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks over and says "Yea, we can play some pool and hang out, Ah would suggest the pool, but it is a wee bit late in the year for that one." He offers with a smile.

Isabel Kane has posed:
Laughing lightly, Izzy gives a nod, "Unless y'all have an indoor pool, we'll have to wait til it warms up for me to bust out the bikini. Or, you know, go south for a weekend." She reaches up and brushes a touch across his cheek, "You're real cute, you know that, right?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie hmmms and says "Ah am not sure on how cute Ah am, but Ah have been told Ah can be fun to hang out with some at least." He tells her. He rubs his hand on her back as they dance "And if we are going for the attractive, your the more attractive one."

Isabel Kane has posed:
"Very cute. Just for the record," Izzy assures him of his attractiveness, sidling in a little closer. "You are a blast and a half, Sam Guthrie. I loved flying with you, by the way. That was a ton of fun." Smiling softly, she leans up to kiss his cheek, "I wasn't trying to fish for compliments but.. thank you. You know how to make a girl feel all warm and fuzzy inside."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie grins and says "Wait till I show ya the special trick with my blastin" He says to her "Well pretty sure you never have to fish for compliments, they come pretty easily."

Isabel Kane has posed:
"Okay, now you got me all curious and interested.. will you show me after we leave here?" Izzy grins right back at him and chuckles. "Wouldn't know, I'm not usually in a place where compliments are encouraged.. at least, not about looks, anyways."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie says, "Well it depends, we have to find the right place for it, Ah can do it most places, but it would be frowned at in a lot of places." He offers."

Isabel Kane has posed:
Isabel grins at him, "I can get us somewhere out of the way if that would work better?" Chuckling, she shakes her head, "You've got me all curious now, so now I gotta see it."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie says, "Ah will look around and see if Ah can find the proper place, sure Ah can find something someone does not care about much.""

Isabel Kane has posed:
"Sounds good to me," Isabel chuckles and presses in a little closer. "But maybe after we finish the dance. I'm liking having your arms around me and guiding me around the floor."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie smiles a bit more at that, and says "So, you have an idea what Ah can do, give me a clue on what you can do when your on duty?

Isabel Kane has posed:
Izzy chuckles and gives a nod, "Alright, fair 'nough. When I'm suited up.. I fly, got super strength, durability, ability t' survive in dangerous or even deadly environments.. an' I can do a sorta upgrade thing too, though only one at a time. I can ramp up th' strength or resistance, get super speed, different types of vision, an' energy beams that come from th' goggles that'll cut through damn near anythin'..." SHe lifts a shrug and smiles at him, "An' that's just what I got so far. There's more powers I could potentially download into th' spex, but I gotta go up in level t' access 'em. Uh, in th' Guard, I mean. I gotta rank up."

Sam Guthrie hmmms and says "Interesting, mine Ah have to figure out and work things. Believe it or not, when Ah was first learning Ah could barely turn, but am a lot better at that these days.

Isabel Kane has posed:
"To be fair, mine all come from th' spex... I ain't got no powers normally.. I like t' think I keep in good shape, but obviously it ain't like.. lift a car over my head kinda shape," Isabel smiles up at him and gives a nod. "Now fer th' really important question.. what's yer favorite barbecue?"

Sam Guthrie hmms "Well Ah like pork a lot, mutton is always a bit of a taste of home, but for a regular, Ah would say pork. Normally with a white cole slaw."

Isabel Kane has posed:
Izzy grins at him, "Oh good, I was afraid ya were gonna say beef an' then we'd have t' fight." Winking at him, teasing lightly, she nods, "Got a preference on dry rub or sauce?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie hmmms and says "Well there is a vinegar sauce, Ah like, Carolina is decent as well." He says and smiles "Ah can do beef, got friends, who like it, and it can be ok." He tells her, and as the song finishes he leads her back to the table.

Isabel Kane has posed:
"I'm an Iowa girl.. pork ribs all th' way," Izzy chuckles before giving a nod to Sam, "Me, I like doing a lil mix of both. I put a rub on th' ribs an' let 'em sit overnight, then cook 'em up th' next day an' slather on th' sauce towards th' end. OH, an' I tend towards Kansas City style sauce, but I do like a good Carolina Gold." She'll follow him back to the table to pour out another round of beers for them, sipping on her own with a smile for Sam. "I can do beef barbecue, just won't ever be my favorite."

Sam Guthrie nods, and says "We do a thin slice from the shoulder back home, but there is an occasional whole pig or whole mutton done now and again. And then like Ah said, am used to a lot more different stuff these days. Brazilian is probably the thing Ah have ate the most.

"There's an Irish pub near my place, also dangerous. They love their gravy, on everythin'. An' whiskey. All things whiskey. It's all potatoes, cheese, an' gravy, with a bunch of whiskey this'n'that."

Sam Guthrie nods a bit and says "Ah have done more Scottish than Irish, but Ah know what ya mean. Then if your back home, Whiskey or Shine are the drinks of choice."

"Yeah, we do plenty of whiskeys in Iowa too, but they're mostly all corn-based. I like a good bourbon, which I know is more a subset of whiskey.. but I think it separates itself enough from whiskey t' deserve distinction." Izzy grins at him and gives a nod. "Also beer. SO much beer."

Sam Guthrie chuckles a bit "Ah remember the first time Ah got drunk, Ah was under age, and my pa found me, and held me under a cold shower, kicking the sober and hang over into over drive."

"Ooooo, ouch.. yeah, my first time tyin' one on, I was with friends. Still had th' hangover in th' mornin', but at least my mom an' granddad weren't there t' make it worse." Chuckling, Izzy adds, "My granddad used t' slip me sips of his rye whiskey sometimes. Said it was good t' help be build up a tolerance a lil, so when I went out an' drank, it wouldn't hit me so hard."

Sam Guthrie nods, a bit and says "Think my uncle would have done that, but ma would have skinned him alive if she caught him." He chuckles abit and sips his beer. "Wonder if they have snacks here."

Isabel Kane has posed:
Izzy grins and nods, "So would've ma, which is prob'ly why he sneaked it to me." She glances around the bar, then shakes her head, "Looks like just th' bowls of peanuts." Looking back to him, she smiles, "Wanna head out an' find some real food?"

Sam Guthrie nods a bit and says "Sounds like a plan." He will pull out some money to pay the bill and leave a tip for the waitress. "So what you in the mood for?"

Isabel Kane has posed:
Reaching out to take his hand after he's paid, Isabel smiles at him and grins, "How bout burgers, fries, maybe a shake? There's one of them all night diners round here somewhere."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods, his head a bit and says "Sounds like a plan." He leads her outside, and once they are near the truck he is pulling out his goggles again.

Isabel Kane has posed:
Izzy smiles, "Alright. Burger joint it is." THey head outside and she glances over when he pulls out the goggles, chuckling, "Should I be suitin' up?"

Sam Guthrie says, "Well you can or a pair of sunglasses or something will work, you won't be hurt as long as Ah got ya.""

Isabel Kane has posed:
Izzy grins and pulls on her 'spex, leaving them in sunglasses mode for the moment. Moving in close to him, she slips her arms around his shoulders and looks up at him with a smile, "Girl could get used to travellin' like this..."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie scoops her up and up and off they go at speed. "So, how fast you fly?" He asks her as they are going along. He is zooming along at speed and he is looking over the landscape.

Isabel Kane has posed:
"Without th' super speed.. bout 700 mph. With it, I go damn near th' speed of light." Izzy grins at him and shrugs, "Shi'ar tech is pretty damn advanced."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods and says "Well with the boost ya may have me, but Ah think Ah got ya normal." He sees a building and says "Ok, see that old building there?" He motions at a building set to be demolished.

Isabel Kane has posed:
Grinning, she glances at him, "Wanna race sometime an' find out? Winner gets t' pick th' next date?" Then Izzy looks where he's pointing and she gives a nod, "Yeah, just a sec let me check fer..." Setting the Exospex to a telescopic x-ray vision, she makes a quick sweep to make sure nobody and nothing living has decided to make it a temporary home. Nodding, she grins, "All clear."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods his head a bit to this and heads towards the building, but he does not go through a window, or veer away. No Sam crashes through the building, with no damage to them. He will take a few turns and soon the building is falling in and they are above it.

Isabel Kane has posed:
Laughing as they go crashing through the building, Izzy grins at him once they're out and above it, then watches the building collapse, "Okay, that was pretty cool. I'm sure I could smash it down, but that seemed... different. Not super strength but more just... force ratio?"

Sam Guthrie nods a bit and says "My codename is Cannonball, cause Ah am like one. While Ah am blasting Ah am neigh invulnerable. When my power first came out, ah blasted out of a mine through a mountain

"Damn, man... ya get more'n'more impressive with each date," Izzy smiles at him, her arms around his shoulders, the pair of them hovering in the sky over the wreckage of the building. "So.. wanna go get some burgers now? Or should I start testin' your concentration?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie smirks a bit and says "Well am always training, but might be best to test concentration over some water or something." He heads to the closest waffle house.

Isabel Kane has posed:
"Mmmmmm, I'd catch ya if ya fell.." Izzy chuckles lightly, then tucks in close while he flies them towards an all night diner. Also because she just enjoys being close to him.
