Synopsis: Mary Jane leads Frigga exploring New York, and Caleb helps her explain the majesty of food carts.
Cast of Characters: Mary Jane Watson, Frigga, Caleb Dykstra

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
It's a quiet winter day. Mary Jane has on a long jacket and is walking through the streets of New YOrk, a scarf on her face, and a warm hat on her head that has the symbol of the Mets on it. She's given the advise to Frigga to be about in something more fitting for Midgard, but the All-Mother may have not taken it. But the idea is to explore the city that Loki and Thor in particular have taken a heavy fondness for.. So it's just wandering about. She's taking Frigga towards some of the food carts at the moment.

Frigga has posed:
Illusions are a wonderful thing, they really are. Particularly when casting them and holding them is almost as natural as breathing. Taking //some// of the advice of MJ (and Thor, and others that have had the courage to speak up regarding Frigga's manner of dress), the All-Mother appears as if she wears winter clothing, that is, a cape that is vaguely reminiscent of parts Scandinavian, a long skirt with boots, and a bulky scarf that hangs loosely upon her neck. Blonde hair is coiled away from her face and hangs behind her, hidden by the clothing.

As the pair approach the area that she particularly recognizes, that is, the park in which the giant ice palace resides, those clear blue eyes sparkle, the affection and pride evident. "I don't think I shall ever grow tired of seeing that," Frigga gestures in the direction where spires can be espied.

Thus distracted, Frigga pulls her attention away, and her tones are soft and warm, "So, I have not been beyond its walls. Tell me, has he picked a fine location for the creation? Food of all types, you'd said?"

Caleb Dykstra has posed:
Caleb is also walking through the city, mulling over words Cap recently told him at the WWII event.

'Big shoes to fill'.

That said from the First Avenger himself, it means a lot. But he's no hero, just a regular guy. But, aren't heroes people who put their lives on the line for others every day? And how many times has he, regular guy that he is, stepped up into doing something to stop a crisis? Even Sheila has told him, 'maybe you're not a hero... but you're my hero'.

He chuckles to himself - at least he's doing something right.

Looking about, he notices the nearby hot-dog stand, and approaches. (Deep thinking is always best with food, right?) As he makes his way to it, he finds MJ and... A woman dressed in some Scandinavian form of clothing.

"Hello, Michelle", he addresses the redhead by the name she gave him. To Frigga, he says casually but with a smile, "Ma'am..."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would smile over, "Hey there Caleb. How's Sheila doing?" Her remembering the name of his sister - met in passing or just mentioned. She would keep her hands over in her pockets and wandering about, going to look about. "This is my.." Glancing over at the very large woman next to her. "... Cousin. Her first time in the city, and I'm showing her around." Her keeping things rather vauge. This was letting Frigga see the city, and not having to worry too much about the details! Her hands were over in her pockets to stay warm over.

"We're heading to the food carts. And.." Glancing over at the Ice Palace. "I'm not sure if they let tourists in or not." Well, if Loki did. MJ may or may not have actually been in there, but it wasn't necessarily something that she'd do of her own will unless summoned or asked by the All-Mother.

Frigga has posed:
"Food... carts," Frigga repeats, before she nods her head, "Like a supply caravan." There are little things that it's obvious there is a little bit of a culture difference. Okay, more than a little, but the All-Mother is learning! The more she knows, the more of an aid she can be between her sons and their Father.

"They're not cooked over a kitchen fire." Something obviously more portable, then!

The approach of Caleb has Frigga turning, her posture straight but not stiff, regal but not unapproachable. She exudes an air of warmth and calm.

"Greetings." The word seems to land both in his ears and perhaps into his mind both, a side effect perhaps of the 'All speech'.

With MJ's introduction of 'cousin', however, brows rise in askance but she says nothing. After all, Sonja is her sword-maiden, and they together are the one(s) tasked with accompanying the Queen of Asgard. (There are no other maids present!)

Caleb Dykstra has posed:
"Oh, the little rascal's doing just fine. Keeping her out of trouble's the hard part, but I manage", he answers. Then, he looks back to Frigga, and exclaims. "A cousin...!" Intriguing. "From across the ocean, if I may be so bold as to ask? Scandinavia, perhaps?" Her garments have not gone unnoticed. "Well, pleased to meet you, Ma'am. I'm Caleb Dykstra."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would look at Frigga with a 'play along' expression on her face. Frigga would hopefully hvae enough experience from having raised three boys (well all right all three of them were probably Loki) to get it and join MJ in her goings-about. She would keep her hands over in her pockets.

"Taking her over to some food carts. Figure that we misht as well start with the most open things in the city. Sure, you can sit down and eat anywhere but it's not until that you've had a hot dog lathered wtih everything and pretzels that you can really get a feel for it."

Frigga has posed:
Play along? Absolutely she could do such a thing! Playing at being mortal, or rather, a human? That is taking a little more effort as Frigga doesn't have near enough //recent// experience; not like said sons.

"A distant shore, yes." Not lying. Is this where Loki gets it? "It seems a great deal more distant than I thought it would." Perhaps there's a hint of wistfulness in those dulcet, warm tones.

"A pleasure, Caleb." As Frigga says it, her tones underscore the genuineness of the expression, "I am.." Frigga glances to MJ before her attention returns to Caleb, "I am Frigga. We are well met under the skies of New York City."

MJ's suggestion of the food carts also springs to mind that she'd mentioned the Ice Palace, and 'visitors'. There is a soft but sly smile that creeps to her face and she leans, "Once we gain our food, I do know ways of entrance, if you wish to see inside. It is lovely, the way the lights sparkle."

Caleb Dykstra has posed:
"Frigga...", Caleb commits to memory, "Like the wife of Odin, mother of Thor?" Someone has done their homework (and you can blame Sheila for it, buff as she is over heroes).

But, what would the odds be, right? That a veritable goddess would be here? Certainly there are more Friggas by name on Midgard...

"Well, it sounds lovely", he says, "...If I'm allowed to accompany, of course."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
There's mischievousness up in MJ's eyes now as she sees that Frigga will play along. Not out of any sense of wanting to mess with anyone, but just to help Frigga keep on enjoying the city from the ground's eye view as she would gesture. "Feel free to come along with us if you'd like. We're just wandering through the city, nowhere really in mind that we're going. Just going to head around in any direction an dsee what grabs her attention. Best way to get an idea of things. No clue if she wants to see the touristy stuff or not." She would smile over at Frigga as the group would head to the food carts.

"My treat." Gesturing over at Caleb. "So what do you want?" No, she would not let Frigga buy as the woman would probably do something like pay in Asgardian gold.

Frigga has posed:
"Yes, that's right," Frigga acknowledges. "Very good. Someone remembers." It's something that she'd been concerned about; how much was lost in the nearly 2 thousand years? Of course Thor is in the fore of people's minds as he is a member of a group. Odin, it seems, is a name that shall never be forgotten, and that is how it should be. The All-Father.

Of //course// there are lots of Frigga, right? Particularly hailing from Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland, though she hasn't claimed residence from any of them. Simply the assumption from 'across the sea' and 'from a distant shore'.

"Please do, Caleb. Your presence would be a pleasure."

As MJ explains, Frigga's clear, kind blue eyes land upon her as she explains their path, or lack thereof, and she nods her head in agreement. "I promise to repay you for the food, MJ," she adds, undoubtedly with that underscored understanding. She does only have her gold coin, which, yes.. would be near impossible to change. "I am interested in that 'dog' you were talking about. And pretzel?"

Caleb Dykstra has posed:
"Oh... a loaded hot-dog, please! With all it can get. Fries on the side, and a coke!", he looks at MJ grinning.

He'd might say more, but the way Frigga goes about the 'remembering' catches his attention - and the 'dog' when hot-dogs are mentioned.

He goes quizzical mode, "What... No hot-dogs back in... Where you from, exactly, Ma'am?"

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would smile over at Frigga, "It's all right. I enjoy getting to do things with friends and family." She was technically an adopted sword maiden, so that was probably close enough that Frigga wouldn't mind stretching it out that far. Nodding over at Frigga and going to gesture over. "Go ahead and try a few things. And I don't know in particular about Scandinavia, but I bet they tend to like thier indulgent food a litlte more thoroughly cooked and prepared. You eat these when you're out.." gesturing at hot dogs..

"For the quickness you can get them. It's really cold.." In Scandinavia. "So you'r eprobably a bit less prone to throw in something to the microwave to heat it up quickly to have it. YOu want something warm and a bit more filling." Accurate or not, it's a cultural presumption.

Frigga has posed:
Frigga waits for her companions before she begins her path towards the carts, the heat of their food bringing up a delicious steam from the trays. "One like his, if you please." When in doubt, get what another person is getting, then it can't be all bad, right? As she waits, her head cants and her lips press softly into a 'hmmm' in response to his question. "I have spent time in what is called Norway. Before and after, I do enjoy travel, when I can." She offers a hint of a smile before finishing, "It is a little different since I've lived there. Everything changes." Certainly that's something everyone can agree with, yes?

MJ's words brings a light smile, and even a laugh sounds in her throat. "We do believe in filling meals. These small carts could not feed my family, even for a single sitting." Is there a gleam in those eyes of hers?

"Oh, that does look good..."

Caleb Dykstra has posed:
Caleb will get a hot-dog just like he ordered, and lte's face it, it's a big, filled one. Mouth is watering.

Still, he's not so taken in by the food that he gives up on hit throught process. "You've spent time in.. Norway. So, by what you're saying, you're not from there. So, where you from exactly?"

He looks at the hot-dog. "And, you're telling me one like these isn't filling...?"

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane Watson would smile over at Frigga, "Yup. You're from somewhere temperate that most of us poor folks who like the warm could never last long in. But you thrive there. Means you're all the stronger for it." And she keeps on having the mental image of Asgardians over on the beach and starting to melt like the Wicked WItch that she will never share.

"And these are snacks, not meals! Just get what you want to try." Gesturing over at Frigga and Caleb to pick out what they feel like.

Frigga has posed:
While it's a large order, it doesn't look daunting in front of the regal blonde. Frigga is able to maneuver it, holding the fries and all the fillings effectively enough, and remarkably doesn't look a mess when the first bites are taken. "Oh, this is.." Different!

Well, it is true that gods and heroes walk Midgard, as well as aliens and mutants. From the tales told within the courts, is she that different than some? (Of course she is, but...!)

"Asgard. It is lovely there. The seasons are breathtaking in their vibrancy. Very much like Norway," She pronounces it with a hint of a lilt, more 'Northweg', in the old tongue.

Frigga's attention turns to MJ, and there is that impish smile, "Then we will find more to try. This is our first, not our last." Can Asgardians truly get full?!

Caleb Dykstra has posed:
"Ah", Caleb nods, now the hints and pieces making a little more sense. "So... Frigga, daughter of Frey...?" Yes, Sheila has made him acquire a bunch of (not-so-)useless tidbits about heroes, and in the case of Asgardians, the bloodline of Thor. And, now that it's all out the window, just exactly how many Asgardian women would bear the name 'Frigga'? Still, asking for confirmation can't hurt.

He looks at MJ, "I'd hardly consider Norway a country with temperate weather. 'Fjords', and all that, you know...?" He chuckles at Frigga saying these snacks are only the first ones. "I hope you got deep pockets, girl..." Shit-eating grin.
