Date of Scene: 13 February 2024
Location: Greenwich Village
Synopsis: a brief moment of meeting a fiery redheaded clone!
Cast of Characters: Rogue, Madelyne Pryor

Rogue has posed:
Just outside of Washington Square Park a crime scene was being wrapped up. A local hero known as 'Mighty Woman' chased down a man who'd fired a gun on the subway. She'd flown down above him, and dropped him with little to no effort, subsequently leaving him for the NYPD to come and place under arrest. Here, and now, the scene was wrapping up, with even a few news outlets having interviewed those present, Mighty Woman included.

She wasn't normally known for giving interviews, usually flying off before such things could take place, but tonight... she seemed to have change her tune a bit.

Dressed in a green and black super suit, trimmed with white lines around the edges, and a dark grey shoulder cape that hangs over her left shoulder, the young woman is a sight to behold and one that has a minor amount of celebrity status amongst hero watchers in the New York area.

With her dark brown hair tied up in to a bun on the crown of her head, and white bangs loosely waving around the sides of her pretty face, the young hero comes with a lot of visible powers that help catapult her mass appeal. Flying? Check. Super strength? Check. Super durability? Check. She's a super hero of classical appeal in powers, and looks.

But she's still a minor super hero celebrity when it comes to those able to be seen around Manhattan. The Avengers? Members of the Justice League? They're the big timers, after all.

In the moment, Mighty Woman had just finished talking to a few 'fans' who had her signing autographs, as the Police had already left the scene again. Anna-marie was happily greeting people, and seemingly about to leave herself.

Madelyne Pryor has posed:
Super hero? Little known? Possibly corr...errr...convincible to the Goblin Queen's ideas of right and wrong? Well, that's like catnip to Madelyne. She has hung back towards the edge of the crowd since she heard of the escapade -- news travels quick for those who know what to listen for -- and when she spots Mighty Woman, she has to bite her lower lip to keep from laughing. She KNOWS that woman. She waits until the crowd disperses a little more, and then slides up to her and says, "Fancy meeting you here, Mighty Woman." There is just a tinge of humor under the tone of her voice.

Rogue has posed:
With one last wave, and a smile sent to the parting family, Rogue was about to depart when someone almost literally materialized in front of her. Someone she did not expect to see randomly show up here, let alone dressed like that. Rogue's dark lashes flutter for a second, before she stares with a shocked expression toward Maddie. She tilts her head then, and grins at who she believes is Jean Grey.

"Well heya. You goin' to some kinda Convention that ya didn't tell me about?" She asks, stepping toward the other woman to offer an embrace. It's not secret around Xaviers School that Rogue and Jean are close, having come to rely on each other through rather dramatic moments in the past several years. Thus, when a random appearance of Jean comes, Rogue is clearly encouraged to reach out and offer a hug, having no idea of any nefarious alternatives at-play here!

The evening foot traffic is thinning out as the lights around the edge of the park have come on to help provide illumination on this chilly February evening.

Madelyne Pryor has posed:
The hug is perhaps a bit of a surprise to Madelyne, though she accepts it, as she replies, "I think you may be suffering a bout of mistaken identity, but...no, not going to a convention," she replies, before she pulls back slowly, "Madelyne Pryor, though I get confused for Ms. Grey quite often, so don't be ashamed. It happens. A. Lot." She IS a clone of the woman after all.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue was in full on 'Hug Jean' mode when the realization hit her that this wasn't Jean. That, and Madelyn telling her that she wasn't Jean too, of course. She quickly pulled back, her hands coming back away as though she'd just touched a hot stove. "Oh, shit. I'm sorry." She says in her thick southern accented voice. Her gloved right hand goes up to the white bangs on the right side of her face, quickly stroking them back out of her eyes and tucking the strands of hair back behind her ear. She looks Maddie over, and a smirk grows across her pink painted lips.

"Yeah, I don't really think Jean would strut around Greenwich Village in that outfit..." She jests, before her green eyes go back to Maddie's own. "Not to say it isn't great, cause it is. But, damn. You're puttin' on a show out here, lady." She states, now grinning toward Maddie.

She offers her right hand, gloved in a green glove that extends all the way up past her elbow, toward the short sleeve of that leather-like black and green jacket garment she's wearing as part of her Mighty Woman persona uniform.

"I'm Marie. Or Rogue. Or Mighty Woman..." She introduces herself.

Madelyne Pryor has posed:
"If you think this is a show, we should go somewhere private," Madelyne replies with a wink, before she takes the offered hand and gives it a shake, "A pleasure, Rogue," she replies, and then asks, "Off to the Mansion, or have a bit to wander the Village?" This question is followed by perhaps just the lightest touch on her mind, as if to gauge the other woman's reaction to her. She's...not usually out and about like this, so it's generally good to check.

Rogue has posed:
The quip fired back at her has Rogue tilting her head in curiosity toward the redhead in front of her. She just grins at it, taking it as a simple joke from a clearly complicated woman. "I'll take your word for that." She quietly replies as she glances around at some of the people strolling about the edges of the park. When the question is asked, Rogue looks back to Maddie, and simply offers a pair of light nods. "I'm in no rush." She tells her, as she turns to walk with the other, glancing over at her. "I take it the chilly weather doesn't effect you, sorta like Jean can power through it too?" She asks. "I've heard of you before. But, obviously not a lot..." She adds,, as her white locks of hair flow around her face in the wind around them. "Have you managed to find something to preoccupy yourself with here in the city? A job, or somethin'?" the Southern Belle inquires of the other.

Madelyne Pryor has posed:
"I've...a few things to occupy my time," Madelyne replies, as she leads Jean off from where she was acting as Mighty Woman. She then chuckles at Rogue's question, "No, the cold doesn't bother me so much. Nor the heat. I've always been able to sort of shrug it off.." As she walks she seems to be considering something, but, eventually she just asks, "How about you, aside from saving the hoi polloi of New York City, what is it you're up to these days?" She brushes aside the 'heard about you' comment. Not going to get into what people have heard about her!

Rogue has posed:
Rogue is quick to let out a light laugh at the other's casual take on her ability to ignore the uncomfortable temperatures. "I should hope so, dressin' like that in public places." She says, motioning toward the other's outfit. Her own is a little revealing, but meant to be a fun super hero suit, with just a mild amount of cleavage shown, and a high level of accentuating her fit form within, but otherwise it's just a good look, overall.

She glances away toward where they are headed to now, down one of the park side paths. "I'm teachin' at Xaviers. Poetry teacher. Might start up a French language course here soon too. Beyond that, when I get bored... well. I throw this on, an' fly out here to Manhattan, t'see what kinda trouble I can get myself inta. I like helpin' people, afterall. Makes me smile to know I prevented someone's day from going from bad to worse, if not outright makin' their day a lot more bright by just offering a helping hand. Not enough'a those goin' around these days, as is anyway." She says, shooting a smile over to Madelyn.

"You been by Xaviers before, right? I'm sure Jean would enjoy havin' you over some time, to catch up and see how everything is goin'."

Madelyne Pryor has posed:
"If I've got it, I figure I should let the world see, don't you think?" Madelyne replies to that comment, before she hmms quietly at the question about Xavier's. "I've been by..." she says a bit cagily, before the comment about 'Jean enjoying having her over' seems to...spook the woman? She shakes her head, "No...no I don't think I'll be doing that. Sorry. You're lovely Rogue, but...no, thank you." And then, she seems to shimmer out of existence as she turns on her telepathic camouflage and slips away. SOMETHING seems to have spooked her!
