Cast of Characters: Joshua Foley, Sara Pezzini

Joshua Foley has posed:
He'd never admit to how tired healing someone with complex wounds makes him. After the incident at Josie's, Joshua hung around after Sara made him stop healing before he burned himself out. He remained with her until she was done with the paperwork that was needed, before coming home. He agreed to leave his bike and hold onto her on the way back - they can get his later.

Once in the house, he heads into the kitchen, beelining there really as he opens the fridge and roots around. And a fond smile touches his face as he grabs a metal pan. "Well, you must have let Aunt Ruth know I was home." he comments, taking the small tray of ziti and meatballs, heading to the table after grabbing a takeout plastic spork from the drawer.

There's no want to reheat it, instead, he pulls back the foil and digs into the cold pasta and meat sauce, closing his eyes as he savors taste. "Oh my god, I missed this almost as much as I missed you!" he admits, devouring a few more bites to work on recovering his strength. He hasn't even bothered shrugging out of his jacket yet. At least he had the sense to wash the blood off his hands at the scene of the fight. With vodka.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Paperwork was easy, took all of thirty minutes. Next was grabbign clothing from the saddle bags on her bike. Witchblade may not have destroyed her jacket and shirt, but her pants were gone.

After that is was a quick trip to McDonald's then over to Luca's apartment to let Rig's take a nightly walk and to feed him a Big Mac. Once the dog was taken care of, Sara headed home with Josh.

No, she didn't know for sure that he was overly tired from healing, she just new that any healing tired him out and made him hungry. She knew that had she not stopped him, he would have kept going until he passed out, which is why she stopped him when she did.

Once home, she hangs her oddly not destroyed jacket by the door, then heads to the kitchen with Josh to make coffee. "I called her this morning and let her know," she comments, noting that the fridge had been stocked sometimes between that phone call and now. How the woman did that she would never know, but she was glad for it.

"You need to learn when enough is enough my dear," she commented as she poured herself a cup of the fresh coffee. A dash of cream, two sugars and she was sipping at it while leaning against the counter. "You don't have to heal people completely, you merely need to get them to 'not dieing' and then let medicine take over from there."

Joshua Foley has posed:
Even at McDonald's, Josh had two Big Macs and a sugary pop. Sara's seen him pack away calories, but always seems to burn them off. Another bite of ziti is shoved into his mouth to chew on. As she comes into the kitchen, he glances over at the jacket she just hung up. His Christmas present to her. "So. That's new."

His biggest worry was that he would buy her something nice to wear and the Witchblade would shred it. The fact that it didn't has not been missed by the young mutant as he leans back and lets out a sigh of breath. The food was hitting the spot, judging by the satisfied noise that he is making.

"Love, has anyone ever asked you to do anything half-assed?" he asks her, a lift of his brow towards Sara. "I'd rather know that someone is completely out of the woods and going to be fine than try to figure out what a good 'stopping' point is. I do not have that much of a finite control over my powers." That's a lie. She's seen him wield his powers with the percision of a suregon. He just perfers to spam the heal than try to take it slow.

But now that they are talking about it, he broaches the subject. "So... the guy tonight." Luca. "I mean. Obviously know each other. But... you know..." How? Ah, not all of that self-confidence got chased off while he was overseas. But he has gotten better - he's not trying to skirt his thoughts and just accept it. "You two were close?"

Sara Pezzini has posed:
"He won't tell me why he didn't destroy it," Sara says plainly, taking another sip of her coffee. "He just laughs."

Stepping away from the counter, she walks over to hook her arm around his waist and guide him into the living room to the couch. Once they are both sitting down, she sets the coffee on the table. "Yes, people have told me to things half-assed, and of course I refuse." She offers with a shrug. "But I tend to do things smarter, not harder. You on the other hand, can lie about your control all you want. You wanted that guys wrist broken, and you broke it... that's control, even in your anger. You have to find a mid-way point and stop, so you can help more people live."

Reaching over she runs her fingers tip across his cheek. "Here's a scenario. A bus crashes into an eighteen wheeler. There are fifteen wounded people on the ground, several are dying. If you use up all of your energy completely healing those with the worst wounds, you never make it to the others."

Offering a smile she continues, "However, if you heal those who are wounded the most just to the point they won't die, you can move on to the next more quickly and still have the energy to get through them all."

Once she finishes with that the coffee is picked up again for a drink, and she tilts her head. "Luca Bandoni," she says with a chuckle. "We are in fact very close, but not in the way your little brain is panicking is the case." She winks at him.

"We grew up together," she then continues after a pause. "His father and mine were partners forever, up to his father's death in fact. Partners in the force are like brother's, so we did everything together as one huge family. He's like a brother."

Joshua Foley has posed:
For a moment, when Sara hooks his waist, it almost seems like Josh is going to grab the ziti pan to bring with him into the living room. But he relents, allowing her to tug him along. "Who knows, maybe he approves of you in leather. I know I do." A small smirk at that, before they end up on the couch.

Flopping into the cushions, he immediately leans into her, desiring the close contact that they haven't had in a bit. "There's a difference between fifteen people that need tio be triaged, and one person with serious injuries, and a few others that were not so bad. Plus, it seemed that if I didn't take care of Roscoe, I was going to be in for grevious harm." There's a small sigh. She's trying to make a point, and he looks up at her. "I can't improve if I don't push myself to a breaking point and beyond, and set that bar just a little higher." he points out to her.

"If I play it safe, I can never go beyond." His hand rests on her chest, feeling her heartbeat so easily when she touches his cheek. "I want to be able to just do this someday..." A light push. "And immediatly know what's wrong and heal it." It's a big dream. But she's already seen him pull off some strange feats.

"I don't like hurting people. I know it's required. But I'd rather cause specific, quick harm to settle a situation, rather than take the time to cause further harm. Too much work." As if he's lazy.

As she touches his cheek, he leans further into the touch as she explains the relationship between herself and Luca. And he ohs softly. "I mean. Not gonna lie. I'm a guy into a very hot girlfriend, and even I thought he was attractive." That said with a smirk as he takes in the rest of the story.

"Oh. I see." It's almost offered as an apology as he blows out a breath. "I get it now." There's an understanding there, but at least it's nice that Joshua was showing just a touch of possessiveness?

Sara Pezzini has posed:
A smile threatens the corners of Sara's lips, her green eyes sparkling as it finally breaks free with a soft laugh. She wasn't used to a possessive boyfriend, most thought they were all that and more, but Josh was different. She knew he lacked confidence, that he was always in fear of someone coming along and taking her away from him. In his mind she knew he couldn't fathom that that wasn't an option, that it couldn't and wouldn't happen. To him, every attractive man was a hidden threat waiting to steal her.

"Luca is a very good looking man," she admits with that chuckle. "He could have any woman in the world based on his looks, probably any man too." Again she winks at him. "But he won't be having me. I'm in a relationship with a very charming young man with a golden hue to him, and so long as I am in a relationship with you, no other man or woman has a chance with me no matter how attractive they might me."

Wrapping her arm around him, she leans in and places a soft kiss on his lips. "I may be a person who has been poly in the past, but you never have to worry about me cheating on you, or someone else taking me away, alright?"

Snuggling in against him, she rests her head against his. "You have to push yourself to improve your abilities, I get that, but you need to not push /past/ the line as you are known to do."

Joshua Foley has posed:
"I'm not really into guys. And I'm not really into that, either." Joshua admits. "I have a relationship with a woman that makes me feel wanted. And supported. And while we may disagree on some things, she has done nothing but offered me the best of what I could ask for, of her and myself. It wouldn't be fair or right of me to remove part of myself to share with someone else when she has offered me no less than everything."

With that he retort, he leans up and presses a firm kiss to Sara's mouth, ready or not. He holds there for several seconds, deepening the kiss a few degrees before he pulls away and presses against her anew. He doesn't need to tell her how he feels. She's perfectly aware of how much she's secured him and that he's happy being around her finger.

As he rests his head against hers and meets her eyes, he considers his words, "I push past the line because I want to catch up to you and the others." he admits. "I want to be the best healer that you have ever seen, Sara. I'm pretty driven on that. So I'm going to keep pushing. Because it's the only way I can improve."

Though now, there's a small smirk offered to her as he leans back, a gentle tug on her shirt to pull her towards him. "Though if you need to drive the point of any of this conversation home, I have no complaints being shown as well as told."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
The kiss is welcomed and returned. Sara had missed him the past two weeks, more than she realized she would. In the past, when a boyfriend went wandering or off to 'work', she'd accepted the departure with the thinking they may or may not come back and she got on with her life. This time was different, this time each day that passed she felt the void inside herself that his presence filled getting larger and larger.

"It's alright that you are mine and only mine," she offers when the kiss ends. "It's one of the reasons you need to learn control, because I need you to stay around for a long, long time. You'll catch up to the rest of us, but if you push too hard you might not."

As he pulls on her shirt she leans in to him, kissing his cheek, then his neck lightly, "You need me to drive this point home?" she whispers, another kiss to his neck. "How's this then..." One more small kiss, a little nibble. "I love you."

Joshua Foley has posed:
"I need to be stronger so I'm not a burden." Joshua starts to protest. This is an argument that they could go in circles around for days if they tried hard enough. And he can see Sara's side in it. He just hopes she sees his.

But whatever else he was about to say is suddenly gone when Sara leans in, kisses him and admits to three words that Joshua isn't quite sure he heard the first time. His golden cheeks warm. And his smile turns soft, his eyes darkening with his feelings for her in return.

His hand releases her shirt, moving to caress the side of her face, committing this moment to his memory. He had wondered if things would be weird if he came home. He was actually scared she'd kicked him to the curb. Because she's right, she could have pretty much her choice.

That she cements that she's picking him, he laughs softly, a soft 'Wow' escaping his lips. "I love you too, Sara." he confesses quietly. But she never needed to be a detective to know that.
