The Seas be Dangerous...
Date of Scene: 23 February 2024
Location: Off the Coast of Norway
Synopsis: Seahorses vanquished, Angela and Namor will meet up to take care of AIM next...
Cast of Characters: Aldrif Odinsdottir, Namor

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela lands on the beach with a thud, the evening descending on the quiet area. She looks down at the beach which isn't much more than a bunch of rocks, rather than sand and a calm breeze. In fact, the waves seem much lividlier than usual and she frowns as the sound of the crashing waves makes it harder to hear much else.

Without pause, Angela draws her overly sized-for-no-reason sword, and eyes the gurgling ocean. She dismisses what she was going to do to begin with as a giant SEA HORSE erupts from the waves and starts for her, and it looks really pissed off, so it's not hard to assume it's out for evil intent!

"Ha! I knew it! But I see you now, evil creature! Come!" Angela says, as if tauting and bidding the monster to come froward. The tall Sea Horse is joined by his pal! Uh oh!

Namor has posed:
It's not every day that genetically mutated hippocampi are seen running amok in the ocean. Today though, is that rare day. Namor -- who has been alerted to the danger of the seahorses has spent the last couple of hours traversing the water to get to the coast. He pops his head above the waves for a moment, and then spots the woman -- a very tall, scantily clad woman -- starting to engage the monsters.

"Be aware! These are no normal sea horses. They have escaped from an AIM laboratory! It is unclear what powers they may have!" He shouts to the woman who has decided, perhaps foolishly, to take on the creatures. For the moment, Namor does not approach, as he seems to be sizing up the pair of them, considering the best way to tackle this particular problem.

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
With another frown, Angela holds her overly large sword with both hands and says, "Ha! Tis typical...but it matters not!" she yells out sarcastically, "Who are you, wizard? Have you sent these vile creatures against me?" she asks. The two sea horses seem really interested in going after this Angela lady and pay Namor no mind so it's maybe easy to assume Namor's their buddy.

The two Sea Horses are discolored and kinda ugly so the genetic manipulation isn't all that good but Angela is busy staring down the oncoming giants. One of the monsters is leading and doesn't really care about zooming through the shallows where Angela is standing, bowing it's head to swipe at her. Angela leaps to the side but soon the other Sea Horse is closing in from the other side to corner her! Uh oh!

Namor has posed:
"Wizard? No, I am Namor, King of Atlantis!" Namor declares, before he smirks a bit at how Angela seems to be faring against the seahorses. "Bring them out into the water, my...friends cannot go to such shallow depths safely." He calls to Angela, before he draws forth his trident, and glides through the water quickly. He throws the trident, and it sinks into the creature's flank. This seems to have gotten its attention, as it wheels about and starts to close on Namor himself.

The King of Atlantis just smiles as the giant comes crashing through the waves at him, and suddenly he lifts off out of the water, flying by the power of his wings on his ankles, as he taunts the seahorse deeper and deeper into the water.

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela turns and runs further into the water, "I am not a fish!" she announces, as if that weren't obvious. The first Sea Horse is distracted by Angela and she wheels about as the other comes at her, but she's ready for the attack this time. She launches herself up into the air, some glittering silver ribbons cascading around her shoulders. The Sea Horse dares lunge for her and she chops it's massive head clean off in one smooth, massive stroke, like she's straight out of a storybook. She splooshes back down in the water as the rest of the Sea Horse topples over. She picks herself up and turns to see where Namor has gone. She wades further out into the water, but frowns as she doesn't seem to like this idea.

Namor has posed:
Well, with the decapitation of one seahorse -- which apparently Namor didn't think the woman quite capable of considering how he watches how it plays out -- the job just got easier. Especially for the school of sharks that have descended on the half submerged creature. They make quick work of the seahorse. Seems if one of your natural defenses is being small enough not to really be noticed by larger predators, you might not have defenses against those larger predators when you get turned into a giant shark-feeding buffet. Namor stays out of the water, and advises, "I would return to shore, if I were you. The sharks won't actively harm you, but in a feeding frenzy...mistakes get made."

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela stops in the cold water and frowns, "I have no objection," she says as she watches Namor's buddies go to work on the Sea Horse. Her silver, glittering ribbons splash in the water, as if having a mind of their own. She could fly over there actually and she pauses as she considers it, but Namor and his pals go to work more quickly than she thought so she turns back. She walks to shore and plants her large sword in the ground, "Who is this AIM? Tell me immediately!" she yells at Namor, "Come! These wizards will pay for sending evil against me."

Namor has posed:
"You will have a hard time of it, they are a...nebulous group at the best of times. But, ultimately they are scientists who like to tinker with things to...various nefarious ends," Namor explains, "I am sure once my people analyze the bodies of the beasts we'll find some new form of growth hormone that they are working on to cause some havoc. But for now, it is impossible to know where these creatures came from." He lands lightly on the shore, and for a moment his eyes glance over Angela's figure, before he asks, "Who, may I ask, do I have the pleasure of meeting?"

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela turns to Namor as he approaches, "Impossible? I doubt this. But very well, I will destroy them later," she mutters.

Angela fingers the hilt of her sword as if reconsidering it but then says, "I am simply Angela," she states and raises her chin to regard Namor again, "Who are you again? The King of Midgard? I thought Midgard had no King," she wonders.

Namor has posed:
Midgard? Oh...an Asgardian, that explains it. Namor smiles just a little bit at the question, "I am the King of Atlantis. You will find, on Midgard, that even in this enlightened age, there are many monarchs left rattling about, even here in Norway. King Harald is...almost as good as a land person can be, when it comes to matters of the sea. Though I would ask that he reduce his fishing of my waters a bit more." This seems to be a point of contention that the Atlantean doesn't wish to get into, as he waves it away, "Either way, welcome to Earth as we call it now. Not Midgard."

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela picks up her sword again and replaces it in the scabard, "Oh yes, that's right, this land has many Kings," she comments dubiously. She listens to Namor's story and nods slowly, "Very well. Before you go, we should be after these evil scientists soon. None of these of Midgard can accomplish this. They have been hiding in the sea, it seems," she explains, "You agree?" she asks.

Namor has posed:
"Of course, as soon as my people discover the origin of this particular mutagen, we will be destroying the lab that created them. I suspect it is somewhere under the ocean, AIM has been moving in that direction for some time, and there are a few likely sites that we will be looking into." Namor replies, before he adds, "I will reach out to you when we are ready to take care of this."

Aldrif Odinsdottir has posed:
Angela nods again to what Namor says, "Good," she comments simply. She doesn't have much more to say about it so she turns away and flies off to go on her original task nearby.
