Namor The Sub-Mariner is a child of two worlds, but clearly chose one over the other. An Atlantean patriot, there is nothing that Namor would not do for the safety and Prosperity of Atlantis. He is the Emperor of the Deep and Lord of the Seven Seas, but he is also a hero and villain both, depending on the circumstances. Though some of his decisions may be questionable, Namor is determined to make his mark on the world by any means necessary and bring Atlantis into a brighter horizon.

Timeline:
1921 - A hybrid son, half Atlantean and human respectively, born between the union of Princess Fen of Atlantis and a fisherman named Leonard McKenzie. Leonard is presumed dead when Atlanteans attack his ship to reclaim Princess Fen. At his birth, the son is named Namor, which means 'Avenging Son'. However, due to his mixed heritage, he is not in line for the throne.
1930 - Namor enjoys his childhood with his Atlantean cousins Namora and Dorma, as well as his close friend Meranno. However, an oil spill on the surface gathers his attention and he rushes to save the engineers who fell in the water. While he saves them, he is called a freak and attacked by a panicking engineer whom Namor defeats and spares. Ever since, he possesses a distrust of humankind.
1935 - Atlantis begins feeling effects from the surface world war known as World War II and Namor rises from the depths and fights against the Axis powers.
1946 - Namor learns the identity of his father, and takes the surname of McKenzie to honor him. At the same time, Namor discovers that he is a mutant, having grown bird-like wings on his ankles that allow him to fly.
1950 - In an effort to gain recognition for himself, Namor traverses to the surface world once again and performs superheroics. However, actions by multiple humans reaffirms Namor's distrust of them and he swears off ever associating himself with 'mongrel' humans.
1975 - Namor is struck with amnesia and lives among the surface world for a time.
1980 - Queen Atlanna begins her rule of Atlantis bringing on a golden age.
1989 - Queen Atlanna secretly has a son on the surface she spends time raising. Namor had been a supporter of her rule but knows she has many enemies who linger in the shadows who know of her child on the surface.
1995 - Queen Atlanna is killed after having returned fully in 1993. In anger over Atlantis's shock and indecision, Namor takes an aggressive stance and usurps the throne, seizing the Trident of Neptune and declaring himself the rightful ruler of Atlantis after declaring his mother to be Princess Fen. Namor quickly earns the loyalty of Atlantis, and his enemies are swiftly put down.
1995-2011: Namor continues his rule. Atlantis is slowly beginning to come out of Altantis's solitary existence. During this time, he meets the Fantastic Four and have hostile relationships.
2011 - Arthur Curry comes to Atlantis and proclaims his lineage. More than a few Atlanteans are untrusting of the surface world or of Namor, or believe Arthur has the true claim to the throne. They begin to collate and form a resistance loosely dubbed the Loyalists, as they see Namor as the Usurper. Arthur recovers the fabled Trident of Poseidon, but rather than see violence erupt, publicly accepts Namor's rule.
2011-2018 - Namor continues his rule while the loyalist resistance grows in numbers. Arthur spends most of his time with the surface world in hopes of defusing the situation back home.
2018 - Atlantis's existence becomes public knowledge and Atlantis claims a seat for itself in the United Nations. When Loki attacks New York, Namor rises from the depths to assist the many heroes who fight, knowing that Atlantis would be threatened. However, as teams rise and fall, Namor joins neither and returns to Atlantis. Violent acts begin from the more radical members of the resistance to Namor.
2019 - Atlantis gains an Embassy on U.S. soil. The growing unrest within Atlantis becomes more public. Namor starts punishing loyalists, making an example of them. Arthur returns and quietly assumes a role of leadership with the resistance.

Personality

Caring:
It might not be seen very much, But Namor does have a soft side to him. He cares about his friends and allies very deeply, as much as his own people. There are a select few that he considers among his own who are not Atlantean and Atlantean both and he would die to defend them.

Honorable:
Namor is a man of honor and tradition, where respect is earned, it is difficult to lose. It has gained the admiration of many under Namor's rule.

King:
Namor is a King pure and simple. He knows every decision he makes is one of gravity, but he carries himself like a King. He does not take to disrespect and he does NOT tolerate insubordination of his goals. He holds his head high and he walks tall through every situation he finds himself in and carries himself with a noble composure.

At least until someone pisses him off.

Temper:
Namor gets angry very easily and tends to be short-tempered. While at times he can manage his rage, there have been times where he's perhaps walked a little bit too far over the edge. if someone screams at him, you can very much so bet that Namor will scream at them back.

Character Sheet

Powers

Aquatic Telepathy:
Namor possesses a unique skill among Atlanteans of a Royal Bloodline: Telepathy. Namor is able to communicate with all forms of marine life (both earthly and alien) and persuade or coerce them to do his bidding. Granted, most forms of marine life already want to do Namor's bidding, considering he's the King of Atlantis. But, Namor has incredible range with this unique form of telepathy, able to call upon a school of sharks or some monsterosity from the darkest depths of the sea or even a large army of sea creatures. However, some aquatic life have a powerful will and can resist him if they try hard enough. But as King, Namor has a powerful incentive to give just about any sea creature reason to obey.

Electrolocation:
Like certain fish in the ocean, Namor can navigate the seas by sensing faint electrical currents in the water.

Enhanced Senses:
Namor possesses enhanced senses much like all Atlanteans do, but thanks to his physiology they are far more enhanced. His hearing for example is extremely potent, able to hear a long distance away both in the water and on land, superior to what a human can perceive. Even in the deepest depths of the ocean, where there is no light, Namor can see with perfect clarity and 'count the grains of sand' while in flight.

Flight:
Yes, the wings on Namor's ankles actually work. As a result of a spontaneous mutation in Namor's human DNA, he sprouted a pair of dove-like wings on either side of both of his ankles that allows him to take flight. While one might assume that the wings are too small to carry Namor's weight, you would be wrong. Namor can actually fly fast enough to outrun military aircrafts and perform intense aerial maneuvers and start/stop on a dime.

Hybrid Physiology:
Due to being a Human and Atlantean, one of the few examples of the races crossbreeding in existence, Namor is a specimen of both cultures in a way that is beyond Superhuman. However, he does bear racial traits that belong to both species, such as being able to breathe underwater (via gills behind his ears) and air indefinitely whereas most Atlanteans can only breathe air for a couple of minutes before suffocating.

Indomitable Willpower:
Namor's willpower matches the stars. Of course, much of Namor's willpower comes from his own arrogance and pride, that level of mental fortitude provides him a proper defense against all but the greatest of mental influences. Even if he were mentally dominated, he would fight like his life depended on it to break free and make even experienced telepaths struggle to hold him.

Invulnerability:
Namor possesses an extremely potent durability that makes him an extremely dangerous combatant. He's impervious to most forms of physical damage, including blunt force trauma, temperature extremes, piercing and slashing....Namor's skin is incredibly difficult to breach. On a regular basis, he survives the crushing depths of the deepest parts of the ocean with no issue at all, even molten lava doesn't really affect him at all. He is effectively bulletproof with no man-made gun being able to pierce his skin (even those of a .50 caliber variety). Missiles hurt, but they don't leave a mark on the King of the Seas.

Furthermore, even high energy outputs hurt him, but they can't leave any mark on his skin. So far one of his greatest displays of durability was him falling from orbit to earth and being unharmed. Namor is unphased by damage unless its given by some of the best and even then, Namor can get back up for more.

Longevity:
Atlanteans are extremely long-lived, especially the royal bloodline. Due to Namor's hybrid physiology, Namor will have a very long life. For example, he looks to be about in his 30's, when he's actually 99 years old. Namor is considered to be in the prime of his life by other Atlanteans and will likely live for another century by natural life span.

Radiation Absorption:
Uniquely, Namor's body can take in radiation to strengthen himself. How much radiation is unknown in theory, but the more radiation Namor takes in, the stronger, faster, tougher, etc. he will become. However, those who can control radiation (like take radiation for themselves) can use this to -weaken- Namor instead.

Super Reflexes:
Namor's reaction time is impressive, to say the least. Whether its a biproduct of experience or just his senses being so finely tuned that he literally sees it coming, Namor is very quick on his feet when he needs to get out of the way. He can dodge bullets at point blank range, blitz a room full of heavily armed gunmen before they can even pull the trigger, and catch missiles in such a way that they don't explode from the contact. However, Namor is not a speedster by any means as anyone with access to the Speed Force far surpasses what Namor can react to -- but he can anticipate things that he is not faster than, such as a laser, so long as he knows its point of origin and that the weapon is pointed at him, but even that is no guarantee.

Super Speed:
Thanks to his Super Strength, Namor is extremely quick on his feet. On Land, Namor can outrun missiles for a maximum speed of 7,500 mph (Mach 13). In water, Namor is one of the fastest, if not -the- fastest swimmer alive, capable of swimming so fast as to create whirlpools and swim faster than what intense ocean-based storms can hold. He can swim up to hypersonic speeds in the water, often creating a 'sonic boom' before he -truly- starts to swim.

Super Strength:
While all Atlanteans bear a measure of incredible physical strength, Namor is a cut above the rest of his species. In truth, Namor is an ungodly level of strong even for an Altantean, Human, and Mutant all, having entered tests of strength with even the strongest of heroes and holding them to a standstill or even winning! He can lift thousands upon thousands of tons without effort, far surpassing the Class 100 mark and has even lifted whole islands and tectonic plates at times of great need. Even on land, Namor can pick up buildings over his head and swing it like a basebal bat. Namor is essentially a physical specimen among both Humans and Atlanteans, capable of holding his own in a physical contest against the strongest there is.

Superhuman Stamina:
Namor can exert himself at peak capacity for twenty-four hours straight before fatigue starts to settle in and he begins to tire. Namor can keep going for a long time.

Water Healing:
If Namor is severly injured, he will heal faster in the water. What could take a normal human years to heal, he will recover in the span of a few hours to a week, depending on the scale of the injury. If he is dehydrated, a single drop of -clean- water will restore him.

Skills

Business Management:
Finances, Economics, and business management come very easily to Namor. Even on the surface world, he is able to navigate the minutias and complexities of money and how to make everybody happy with that money whilst making himself more successful.

Leadership:
When one is the ruler of your entire nation and are responsible for the entirety of an empire, one learns that leadership in all of its charisma and enigmatics is very needed. Thankfully, Namor is not lacking in leadership...in fact, he already thinks he should be in charge in any given situation unless one has earned his respect. Nonetheless, he is a leader tried and true who is very skilled at rallying his people and leading with a paradoxically iron fist, yet benevolent open hand. He is, for exmaple, beloved by the Atlantean people, even if some Earth governments would rather have him taken off the board.

Master Combatant:
Namor has been alive for a very long time and has endured numerous conflicts. In the seas, Namor has wrestled giant monsters, some of Atlantis's best warriors, and pretenders to his throne that is his by birthright. On Land, Namor has fought in humanity's older wars (starting from World War II) and beyond to more current conflicts. Namor is a masterful combatant in Atlantean and surface-world martial arts styles. Though Namor prefers to fight with his bare hands, he has very few equals when he has a spear or trident in his hands.

Multilingual:
Though Namor prefers speaking in Atlantean and English, he is fluent in nearly every human language on the planet with the exception of the extremely rare and mystical ones.

Sculpting:
Namor will never admit it, but he is a very skilled sculptor. He has made replicas of people he's known throughout his lifetime and immortalized them in stone. In fact, in the most recent years of Atlantis's history and Namor's rule, he has crafted many of the statues of heroes fallen and living himself.

Tactics:
As a man who often prefers action to talking, Namor is a skilled tactician. While his main expertise comes from war and battle, he just knows how to coordinate the actions of others towards a common goal.

Resources

Imperius Rex:
Namor is the King of Atlantis, Emperor of the Deep, Prince of the Blood, Lord of the Seven Seas, and the Avenging Son. He has as many titles among his people as there are waves, as much influence as the tides themselves. In Atlantis, Namor's word is law and anybody who challenges Namor's rule have been put down immediately. Under Namor's rule, Atlantis has become a Utopia. He is beloved by his people, who consider him a great and mighty King who holds their best interests at heart. As the ruler of Atlantis, Namor has complete control over the Nation's military and finances, his to do with as he chooses. While he does possess a council to advise him of certain matters, Namor's rule in Atlantis is absolute.

Rich:
Namor is ridiculously wealthy both from his enterprises on the surface world and all the treasure he has from all of the ocean's bounties. Namor's coffers will likely never run empty, for he is one of the richest men in the world who can afford pretty much anything he needs and then some. Money is no object.

Trident of Neptune:
The Trident of Neptune is the heirloom weapon of the Kings of Atlantis, supposedly given by Neptune himself. Ironically, the trident is one of two given to the Atlanteans by Neptune, also known as Poseidon, with the sister trident having long been lost. The Trident itself is rarely used in actual combat, being more a symbol of the right to rule rather than a weapon meant for battle. However, the weapon is crafted -for- battle should the need call for it. The trident is made out of nigh-unbreakable metal, Adamantine, and possesses a few abilities of its own due to the numerous enchantments placed upon it.

Mystic Beams: from the three-prongued points of the Trident, it can fire off beams of magical energy that can be used for multiple purposes aside from just causing destruction. These mystic beams can heal individuals of even grievous injuries, grant Atlantean-based abilities to other individuals, cast high-end (but not unbreakable) curses, and of course, just plain laser beam for destroying things in the most rudimentary manner of things.

Mystic Formation: A sense of transmutation is granted here, with the wielder of the Trident able to essentially transform something into something else, whether it be inanimate objects or willing subjects to a desired form. Usually this comes in the form of undersea animals, like massive warbeasts (for living creatures) or actual weapons (inanimate objects).

Hydrokinesis: With the Trident, Namor can control any body of water. He can speed up ships or creatures, create fog, conjure storms that only occur at sea (thunderstorms, hurricanes, typhoons, maelstroms, etc.), summon waves of water to increase his own speed, and create earthquakes of varying intensity.

Weaknesses

Atlantis:
Atlantis is Namor's home. His people.

There is nothing Namor would not do for his people. If he had to choose between saving the surface world or saving Atlantis, he'd save Atlantis without hesitation. He tends to hold Atlantean lives over the lives of others (with very few exceptions). All the same, Namor will always rise to defend his home.

Dehydration:
The bane of all Atlanteans is dehydration. While Namor can spend a long period of time outside of water, the longer he's out of the water he will gradually lose his strength until he's at the level of about the average Atlantean. While it will take a long time (about two days) for Namor to begin losing his abilities on land, its still something that could cause him immense misfortune.

Heavy Is the Head:
...That wears the crown. Namor is a King tried and true, with every decision he makes having consequences of any variety. Currently Namor is experiencing a loyalist faction within his empire that seek to depose him of the throne and he does not have many friends due to his position. Its all politics and laws, but Namor loves being the King.

Honor:
Despite some of Namor's failings, he is a man of honor. He will always keep his word and he will never break his promises. He demands respect because he has earned respect, and respect earned is not so easily cast aside in his book. He has spared many an enemy because of this one trait, which allows his enemies to strike again.

Mutant:
Namor is a mutant. Which means at any point, whether Namor is trying to live normally on the surface world or he is in his Kingly regalia, mutant-detecting technologies will discover him and mutant-hating factions will consider him their enemy. Not to mention, Namor is sympathetic to the mutant cause, so he is often liable to help them even when its unfavorable.

Oxygen Imbalance:
Namor essentially needs to split his time between the land and the sea or he will suffer manic mood swings and other mentally damaging symptons (migraines, emotional, etc.) A few examples of him suffering from an Oxygen Imbalance is shown below.

Bipolar: At times, Namor's personality can shift like a coin flip if he's suffering from an imbalance. One moment he could be reasonable and logical, and the next he could be filled with an unreasonable rage where he cannot be logically convinced to do anything but what he wants to do. Lately, he's been using mystical methods to keep this in check, but sometimes it happens anyway.

Neck Weakness: Namor suffers a weak spot, specifically just above his thoracic vertebrae, that when struck just right, it could knock him out immediately. This weakness is ONLY in effect when he's suffering from an Oxygen Imbalance.

Pollution:
If Namor finds himself in polluted waters, it can have negative effects on his physical health and his actual powers as they will weaken as he does. When exposed to clean water, he'll be fine, but he will eventually become deathly ill in polluted waters if he remains there for too long.

Temper:
To say that Namor has a temper is....well, a severe understatement.

Despite being a King, Namor is often short-tempered and quick to fury, never hesitating to prove he's right by a shouting contest or by throwing an enraged temper tantrum. Its not his best quality, but he has absolutely killed people because they stoked the fires of his rage. When angry, Namor tends to think irrationally and its extremely hard to douse the flames once they've been roused.

Its just...probably best not to piss Namor off.

Wings:
If Namor's wings are destroyed, he will be incapable of flight. While the wings will regrow if they are damaged or destroyed, it will take about three days for them to fully heal and during that time, Namor is grounded.
