Date of Scene: 13 March 2024
Location: Metropolis University
Synopsis: Jon and Megan share lunch on the quad and make plans for a date!
Cast of Characters: M'gann M'orzz, Jon Kent

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
Classes have been ramping up at the college, though Megan and Jon still try to find time to spend together as much as possible, sometimes that means getting creative! They both have a free period around noon, agreeing to grab lunch and meet up on the quad. Megan manages to arrive first by coincidence, carrying a to-go bag from a small Greek deli next to the university.

Arriving at the quad, she grabs them one of the stone tables with the curved benches, setting her backpack at her feet and placing the to-go bag carefully on the table. She's looking as Megan as ever with the shoulder-length auburn hair that's been pulled up into a ponytail and a sweep of sidebangs across her forehead, the peaches'n'cream complexion with the light dusting of freckles over her cheeks. She's in a white long-sleeved tee under a light green jacket, hiphugger jeans, and some comfortable looking sneakers.

Checking her phone, Megan starts to pull items from the bag. A large plastic container of what looks like lemon chicken soup, a large Greek salad, and a small container of tzatziki to go with the salad.

Jon Kent has posed:
The boy grins widely when he spots her across the quad, and he breaks into a light job. He's dressed in a pair of jeans with red Converse, along with a Fleetwood Mac shirt under a jean jacket. His backpack is over one shoulder, and he's carrying a bag from Big Belly Burger.

He slides down to sit beside her, before leaning over to place a soft kiss on her cheek. "Hey! Ooooh, Greek. Good choice. Smarter then mine, that's for sure." He takes a sip of his soda before he folds open the bag and withdraws some fries and a wrapped burger.

"So, how's your morning been?," he asks, glancing up at her with those striking blues of his.

Smiling at the sight of his approach, Megan scoots a little to make room for him, returning the cheek kiss and chuckling, "I've gotten addicted to the food from that little Greek deli next to the campus. They make some of the *best* food. And, you're in luck." She pulls two smaller, empty to-go bowls from the bag and starts pouring out the soup. "I got the large soup, so we can share!"

Setting the bowl near him, she smiles, "It's been good so far! We're going over languages that were created for fictional stories in linguistics, so I'm getting to learn some really interesting things about how people cobble together different bits and pieces to create a new language. And I got an A- on my Econ test, which is really better than I expected to do, it was a tough one!" Megan turns a smile towards him as she opens the container of tzatziki and spoons some out onto the salad, "How has yours been?"

She hands him a spoon for the soup and sips on a water bottle produced from her backpack.

Jon Kent has posed:
He beams when she pours some soup for him. "Aw, that's sweet of you. Thank you! You can have some of my fries. Not the same, but...they're dang tasty." He sets the container between them and picks up the container of soup. "That sounds really cool. My dad has a crazy head for languages, but it's something that didn't really pass down to me, sadly. But hey, I least I got his...uh. Dashing looks?," he asks, trying to find something he can say out loud.

He starts into the soup, making little sounds of appreciation as he does so. "Oh, this IS really good." Jon considers her question about his day as he mouths another spoonful. "Mn. Pretty good. We've been covering some pretty rough stuff in World History, so a nice breather is appreciated right now."

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
"You're welcome! I thought you might like it, it's like chicken and rice soup, but they use a pasta called orzo and they add lemon to it, and use shredded roasted chicken. It's *so* good." She grins briefly before reaching to take a couple fries, swiping them through the tzatziki before popping them into her mouth with a close-lipped smile as she chews. "I love good fries."

Chuckling, she gives a nod, "I have a good head for languages myself, I can pick them up really quickly." Megan looks sidelong at him and smiles, "You definitely have dashing good looks. And a big heart. And a number of other amazing qualities that I adore about you."

When he enjoys the soup, she looks pleased, enjoying some of her own before mentioning, "I asked for the recipe, but apparently each family makes it a little differently, and they are closely guarded secrets. So I think I'll have to start experimenting in the kitchen!" Turning solemn at the mention of World History, Megan gives a nod and lays a gentle hand on his arm, squeezing softly, "I know what you mean. I have it on Thursdays, so I always make sure to get myself a little treat after... it's a.. kind of depressing class."

Jon Kent has posed:
Her compliments make him blush. Most guys who look like Jon don't have a penchant for blushing or getting bashful, but he sure does. He brushes his fingers back through his dark hair and chuckles. "Thanks. I can name quite a few things I love about you, too. Your brilliance. Your kindness. Your quick wit. The way you smile at me."

He works on the food idly throughout the conversation. "Makes sense. They need you coming back to the shop and not just making it at home. I get it." He noms some fries and sips his soda. He begins to unwrap his burger. Her hand squeezes, finding that firm muscle there, under his jacket.

"Well, time with you is treat enough. Oh, speaking of: How about dinner tonight? Or tomorrow? Sometime soon? I could use a night out with my girlfriend, if you can pull yourself away from whatever for it. No pressure."

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
Megan's smile softens at the blush. His modesty. Another of his endearing qualities! Leaning in, she kisses his cheek and smiles at him, "The smile is all you. You do and say the nicest, sweetest things and I just can't stop smiling at you." Straightening, she pokes her fork through her salad, spearing up a good mouthful before she extolls his virtues a little too much. Not that he'll get a big head over it, but she will most certainly embarrass herself by listing them all!

She also manages to get through her food between the conversation, chuckling lightly as she nods, "And I will continue to go to them! I just want to know how to make it so I can if I'm not in Metropolis. I'm very much in favor of supporting small business owners." She spoons a little more tzatziki over the salad and takes a few more bites interspersed with sips of water.

A warm smile blooms at his question, "For you, I am free both nights. I would love to spend more time with you off-campus as well. It feels like we've been so taken with school and extra-curriculars that it's been hard to spend as much time together as I'd like." Pausing, Megan is quick to add, "Not that I don't think you've been putting in enough effort! You've been wonderful." She smiles, "I'd just like to spend more personal time with my boyfriend."

Jon Kent has posed:
"I get it, don't worry." He grins at her and finishes his burger off. He folds the wrapper up and tucks it back into the Big Belly Burger bag, before wiping his fingers and mouth with a napkin. "I'm up for whatever, but I saw this cool little cafe in the art district where they show movies on some nights. I don't have Lit. today so I can get there early to snag us a table. I think they're showing Casablanca tonight or something. Either way, it sounds kind of romantic."

He sits back a bit to watch her, smiling. "If that's not your thing, we can go for a walk in the park, or mabye check out this art gallery showing one of my Professor's was mentioning."

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
"No, the cafe sounds perfect! We can do a walk in the park or the art gallery on the weekend. For an evening date, I think a cafe and an old movie sounds great," Megan leans in and gives him a quick hug, looking excited for tonight. She finishes up the last of her salad and starts packing everything into the bag to be properly disposed of.

She shifts in her seat to smile at him, "If you want, after, you could walk me home and we could have dessert at my place? I have some ice cream and fixings, we could make sundaes." There's a bit of a blush on her cheeks at the offer. Not that he hasn't been to her place before (okay, once), but this is different. She's never asked him over AFTER the date.

Jon Kent has posed:
He hugs her back, and then as she begins to pull away he gives her a brief, soft kiss on the lips. "Awesome! Swing by anytime between six and seven, then. I'll snag us a good table."

He begins packing up his own things as well, and soon everything is in the Big Belly Burger bag. He turns and hefts it, tossing it towards a nearby trashcan. He purposefully makes it bounce off the rim and sighs, hopping to his feet. He walks over and scoops it up, dropping it in. "THIS close." He turns back towards the girl. He blinks at the offer and blushes again. "Y-yeah, for sure. That sounds great. Ice cream. Cool."

M'gann M'orzz has posed:
The kiss both surprises and pleases her. It also heats up the blush on her cheeks even as she returns it, smiling as he pulls away. "Between six and seven. I'll be there. I get done with Sociology a little after five, that should give me plenty of time to run home and drop stuff off before heading to the cafe."

Standing from the table, Megan shoulders the backpack and picks up her to-go bag, carrying it towards the trashcan and dropping it in before smiling up at Jon and leaning in to kiss his cheek, "You'll get there. I believe in you." Stepping back, she smiles again, "See you at six-ish then?"

Jon Kent has posed:
He grins and waves to her. "Awesome. I'll see you then." His heart is racing as he turns to make his way off towards his next class. More then once he glances back at Megan, though, to catch another glimpse of her before he finally turns the corner.
