Iron Cloak and Dagger Fist. What
Date of Scene: 19 May 2020
Location: Hell's Kitchen
Synopsis: First appearance for the Darklight Duo. Scared the pee out of a drug dealer, met Iron Fist.
Cast of Characters: Tyrone Johnson, Tandy Bowen, Danny Rand

Tyrone Johnson has posed:
Hell's Kitchen is.. well, Hell's Kitchen. The name says it all. The neighborhood is rough, not like a war torn area so much as a city district teetering on the edge of violence and degradation. Drugs are sold on street corners brazenly, because the dealers think they are protected by their own bosses, who are protected by -their- bosses.
They didn't count on the duo of Cloak and Dagger who have recently decided to wage war on the evils of the city. To be there for the innocents on the streets who can't turn to anyone else. Freshly juiced up (Okay, so that means having absorbed enough of Dagger's light so that he's not dangerously starving.)... Cloak suddenly exists in the shadows of a nearby alleyway. Silently slipping into reality as he peers towards the drug pusher fifteen feet or so from his emergence location. Softly, he murmurs, "Are you certain that he should not merely vanish into the darkness, never to return?" to Dagger, whom he transported with him.

Tandy Bowen has posed:
Not many in the world can travel with their own private cloaking device, especially not an animate one. And a friend. That's what he has become in a remarkably short time.

Light fills the darkness as Tandy steps out from under the sheltering wings of the cloak. It fills the alley, highlighting dented trashcans and an overflowing dumpster. Something scuttles away from the sudden intrusion on its dark world. The drug pusher, if he were wise, should do the same thing. Tandy glows with an inner light that forms an aura around her like a lantern uncovered on a foggy night.

"Warn first, then bite!"

Tyrone Johnson has posed:
A pregnant pause happens while Cloak considers Dagger's words. Then he nods and remarks, "So be it. First, we shall show him true darkness so that your light means even more to him." And with that said, Cloak moves forward, towards the dealer.
To claim that he is walking would be... not quite correct. He is flowing. His movements make no sound whatsoever, and his cloak passes -through- trash cans, a dumpster, and then he peels himself off of the wall behind the dealer and his deep resonant voice can be heard, "YOU PREY UPON THE INNOCENT. ALLOW ME TO SHOW YOU THE DARKNESS IN YOUR OWN SOUL..." It's not yelled so much as just... stated in all caps. Yep. And that is the moment when darkness flares up. It encompasses the dealer like a desperate lover, smothering him in numbing cold ... before it abates to allow Dagger to... 'do her thang'.. so to speak.

Danny Rand has posed:
Drugs in this city? Not a chance.

Daredevil was busy, so Iron Fist stepped up to the plate. He had leapt between buildings with parkour and gynmastic maneuvers with a little bit of Bruce Lee style noises with each effort made. But, when he arrives on the scene, he notices Cloak and Dagger apparently making their plans. He tilts his head a moment when he hears the rather brutal words granted by Cloak as they move in for the kill.

He stays where he is though, watching and waiting for the proper moment to strike, but also to see what these guys can do in case they are...well, hostile to him as well.

Tandy Bowen has posed:
The changes that Cloak has manifested over the last months strike Tandy more than her own sometimes. She might look like Galadriel on a dark elven night but she still retains her Ohio accent and the young timbre of her voice. Cloak on the other hand has become otherworldly. His voice reverberates in the alley filling it the way her light does.

Unaware that they have an audience, Dagger steps forward, a crystalline dagger solidifying in her right hand. She holds it up so it can be clearly seen. "Let's put this another way. Leave here. Stop what you're doing or you won't like it. Really."

Tyrone Johnson has posed:
As the shadows fade, and the angel of light stands there in all her glory, Cloak collapses in upon himself. And then vanishes without a sound, only to appear behind Dagger... a looming presence used to silently back up her words and her threat with... more darkness and threats.
No words need be said. This drug dealer is a terrified young man whose hand doesn't even twitch towards the pistol he wears in his belt. He's heard the rumors of the demonic guardian of the streets and his angel partner. He didn't believe they were true, but.. now he is a believer. He stares.. and for a long moment nothing happens. But then a wet stain appears in his crotch, and he turns to run screaming. Mission accomplished.
But Cloak's voice says in his soft, yet resonant tone that carries farther than intended. "He will return to this life when he has had enough intoxicants to try to forget us. We will see him again. You should have let me merely remove him from the world."

Tandy Bowen has posed:
@emit

"We don't know that, do we? I mean." Tandy makes a frustrated gesture as she searches for her words. The lightness of her voice a contrast to the authority of the light that surrounds her.

"It's the end. He'd never be able to find himself. Change. You know what Father Lantom says." Her voice drops to a whisper. "About redemption and having a chance to be someone new. Even if we don't believe in all the other stuff, I hope that people can change. Like we have."

Danny Rand has posed:
Danny continues to watch as Tandy and Tyrone seem to be effectively threatening this poor drug dealer. He does like the theatrics and the good cop, bad cop kind of routine they have going on. Matt would probably like them. All the same, Iron Fist narrows his eyes when the drug dealer runs off in terror.

"That probably wouldn't have been smart."

Wait, who said that?

Danny leaps off of the rooftop and lands firmly on his feet in front of the terrifying duo. "After all, if you kill someone like that, you'll end up on a killing spree before you know it, and they call someone like me to take you down. Who are you?"

Tyrone Johnson has posed:
The sound of the voice makes the darkness-laden cloak flare and grow a bit. Cloak himself turns his head towards the source of the voice. "They prey upon children. They kill the innocent, and I cannot accept your wisdom. It may work for you...." But the light emanating from Dagger helps to... diffuse his hunger and rage.
It's almost like the light flows into his cloak and vanishes, absorbed there while at the same time.. that floating cloak has curled somewhat around Dagger, as if he is prepared to defend her. "Redemption must be sought. It will not find one due to terror. Only true desire to change." he says to her more softly.

Tandy Bowen has posed:
The light in the alley flares as a man leaps off the roof to land in front of them. Dagger seems to grow in height, her aura dancing around her as she listens, all too aware of the menace the comes from Cloak. "He is the voice of judgment. Don't you go judging us so easily. We let him go, didn't we? I want him to have another chance."

Moving back into the shelter of Cloak's presence, her voice softens as if trying to comfort him. She half turns to him, saying, "We have to give some people a chance to change. But, we can't do it for them. Can we?"

Danny Rand has posed:
Danny narrows his eyes at both of them as they each give their rather...rigid opinions on justice. "True, but you two should know better than anybody that fear never permanently works, nor is it actually viable. Its temporary. They'll say or do anything to get you off their tail while trying to do it in the shadows."

He smirks.

"You want to spark change? Try throwing them in jail or rehab."

But now there's a standstill....and it was as if time itself was standing still between them as tensions grew thick in the air.
