HH Game Night: April 2024
Date of Scene: 12 April 2024
Location: Library - HHCC
Synopsis: Game night goes off without...no, that's a pretty big hitch!
Cast of Characters: Morrigan MacIntyre, Michael Hannigan, Hank Pym

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Game Night for Happy Harbor schools is being hosted in the library at the Community College this evening. And like most times there is food that has been ordered along with drinks and desserts. Tonight it was pizza, but it was very expensive pizza. There are toppings for everyone and including those with special diets.

Current students, past students and teachers are getting games set up or out since the college has a vast board game library. Tyler, Declan and Delia are set up with some of the other college freshman and going over rules on a game.

Everyone had grown.

The science fair had passed with little incident and that meant that it was nearing the end of school year and terms. Some of the faculty are still healing from incidents last week. Morrigan herself is keeping a low profile and seated at one of the large chairs with her laptop and working on hospital paperwork. Her hands are still bandaged given she beat someone to death not less than a week ago. Her face still holds traces of the wounds inflicted, but she'll be fine!

Duncan is manning the door and the food tables this evening and doing greetings to all that enter.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Not just pizza. But EXPENSIVE pizza. Considering the general audience the game nights are meant to attract, this may seem like an unnecessary expense. What college student is going to be so picky as to turn down free cheap pizza? More so the High school students who make the trek over.

Mike, has fared better than some of the faculty. He had only gotten pulled into one incident involving the UN. And he wasn't really privy to the connection at the time. As for the craziness that occurred the past week?

Uh. Well. Up until the day of the science fair, Mike had been traveling. Promoting the muisical movie that was going through the overseas release.

Jet lag is a much different type of fatigue.

Perhaps that is why he's recovered a bit more than others. He only looks slightly tired and he's been pretty helpful getting the games set up to their respective tables. Guillotine was pretty easy. Two decks, one prop guillotine. Done.

Hank Pym has posed:
Somehow, a boxed pizza disappears. One moment it is there, the next, gone.

Unless someone was watching it, they wouldn't notice it of course. Change blindness. Superheroes depend on change blindness at times, as do some insects, living quiet, fierce lives among the living mountains of humanity.

The pizza is being enjoyed greatly.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"Thank you for helping with things, Mister Hannigan." intones Duncan with a smile to Michael. "Did you need anything this evening? Apparently the grocery store in town heard that we were having a game night and has some food on standby if we need." he chuckles.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
"No problem." Mike responds to the thanks, moving over to the game stack to pick up a green box with golden lettering upon the top. He pauses as there's mention of food on standby. Chuckling, he glances over to the pizza. "I think. Dr. MacIntyre has us covered with t-"

The Carcassonne box lowers as the musician looks over to the food tables. The uneveness of one of the stacks gives him pause. "...I thought we got an even number of pizzas."

Hank Pym has posed:
They did. They don't anymore. He looks at the green box, tries to read the huge letters. He used to be much better at this. A flowing length of red draws his eyes. Is that?

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Duncan looks completely perplexed, "Yeah we did. Let me go ask Morrigan..." the man states. He makes quick work of it given Morrigan isn't that far from the group really, just not in direct view of folks.

"We got an even number, yes. Maybe someone made off with one? Either way, it probably won't hurt...unless it's a gremlin." the Irish woman muses before she lets Duncan go back to his pizza and door guarding.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
With a plausible explanation to the disappearing pizza given. And being that Mike wasn't the one paying for the pizza, the musician gives a shrug. "Oh well. Better eaten than thrown out because no one touched it."

Box lifted up, Mike moves over to another table to get the heavy set squares and figures in place, "Although I didn't see anyone near there."

Hank Pym has posed:
The Man-Ant laughs at that. Gremlin! Ha. Ha.

He looks up at the redhead, then calls his ride over. Bo was walking across a pizza box when, another mountain raised his hand to slap him off. Bo lifts his wings to flutter away and the person snatches at him, only to find his wrist grabbed.

"Please don't do that. He only wanted something to eat." He releases the wrist as Bo lands on his shoulder.

Hank looks around the room, suddenly a mountain himself for the first time in a while. He rubs a healthy growth of beard and shakes hair out of his eyes.

His suit looks patched and repaired repeatedly. His helmet is mostly missing, The communication gear exposed.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Duncan is as confused as anyone really, "Is that a big ant?" he asks. Then there is a man in some sort of outfit with a bad need of a shave.

Morrigan's not been in sight, but she can hear. She calmly settles her laptop down on the table that was next to the chair and puts her sunglasses on before rounding a corner to see Hank and Bo near the pizza table. "Doctor." she states in a plain greeting. "Are you in need of some assistance?" she asks.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Clatter. Ping!

A couple of the titles for Carcassonne end up falling, banging against the metal of one of the library chairs in its downwards motion. As for the cause of those fallen pieces, he is staring over to the food tables. In particular, his attention is fixated upon the rather worse for wear scientist now standing in the room.

The dumb look upon Mike's face shifts, lips turning to a smile. "Hank! Welcome back!"

Box abandoned to the tabletop with a slight mental note to attend to it later, he moves over towards the newly arrived doctor. The transition does allow for him to do a bit of math. "...By any chance was that missing pizza you?"

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym turns at the familiar voice. He tilts his head a little, his forehead wrinkling with thought as he looks at Morrigan. "Emma, no, not Emma. Mo... Doctor... Morrigan MacIntyre. Hello. No I don't need assistance. though it is a fair question for me. I just didn't want this student to swat my friend..."

Hank flinches at the yell from Mike. He throws his hands up, stiffened for strikes or blocks. He relaxes after a tense mminute.

"Welcome back to what? I can pay for the pizza. It hand pineapple." He takes the ant and places it near a tiny white rectangle.

"Humans have so much... ants do so much and ask so little." He covers the ant with a cup.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan does not smile. She stands there with her sunglasses on while Hank speaks. And he calls her Emma. Could be worse. He could have called her Janet.

"You don't need to pay for the pizza." she states.

She then takes a step back as Mike heads toward Hank.

Duncan looks to Morrigan and she nods to something before Duncan gives a smile, "I can give the ants some pizza if that will help? It was probably just a shock since students here haven't came across them." he points out.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike's steps slow to a halt, eyes widening to Hank's reaction. "Sorry- I-" He pauses. The musician pauses, "Hank it's fine you had the pizza. I just was curious where it went..."

The smile fades. "Sorry. I didn't mean to startle you. I'm just glad to see you again."

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym turns back to Morrigan and says, "I remember... I was an ass to you when I left. You were smoking I think. My father said... in fifteen minutes I could make the Buddha a chainsmoker in fifteen minutes... I was an idiot to you a few times. I'm sorry. Very sorry. I can say this now."

He turns back to Mike and explains, "I was living with the ants, with no reason to come back. It... centered me some. But mmmmmmy communicator got damaged fighting a spider. I became human to repair it and I thought I'd come to see the Science Show. I was late for it but you has pizza."

"You can give the winged ant pizza. He's my friend... there are some more coming who are strangers and will kill him. I'm sending THOSE AWAY. Now."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan just grits her teeth, "An ass doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of it, Doctor Pym." she tells him. She then moves to pack up her laptop and shove it into her bag.

"If anyone needs me just text my phone. Duncan will handle the rest of things here if you need anything." the beaten up woman states as she heads for the doors out.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike looks in the direction of Declan and back to Hank. "Is it Bo?" He wonders. "...Don't you have a spare communicator back at one of the labs? I know you had at least one..."

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym hangs his head at Morrigan's reaction. He looks at Declan and Delilah... no Delia. "You've grown." He turns to Mike, "I'm jittery after the great spider invasion. I guess I still don't do people very well. As the saying goes, 'You may be done with the past, but it's not done with you. Could you please tell Dr. MacIntyre I am leaving and she may return to her game night. I guess... back to the lab and it's many little worlds." He turns to go.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"Doctor MacIntyre has had a rough week. I can imagine you have as well, why don't you have a seat and some food and catch up with people?" Duncan offers Hank.

Declan and Delia give a wave to the man. "I think she's done for the night." Tyler adds.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike nods in confirmation of Duncan's explanation, looking over to Hank. "Please stay, Hank." Mike adds in, "It's been too long since we last saw you. It'd be nice to catch up.."

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym shakes his head. "You have no idea what catching up would entail. I lost Foss and Cozette and many others without names. I pondered all the broken dreams of my life, all my bad decisions. I'll spare you my self pity... I thought... we had some GOOD times. Once a waitress thought I was her son. I am going home with Bo. I'll be around. I just need to get being human right... thank you." With that he removes the cup and shrinks, seeming the vanish. A winged ant with a tiny rider wings away.
