Cast of Characters: Alfred Pennyworth, Talia al Ghul, Kenesha
Tinyplot: The Monocaine Conspiracy

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
Alfred thought that the idea was too good to be true at first. The idea that someone else had planted knowledge about the plant was....nice but odd. As he began digging into the details, however, there was a substantial difference in the hand written notes he had taken checking each item, and the digital record. And he began digging. As he began looking at the video, he found...oddities. He decided to invite Kenesha and Talia as a sanity check since they'd been right about the situation in the first place; rather than widen the circle until he is sure. He is in a sophisticated Wayne lab, unsure if Batman would approve of inviting Kenesha to the batcave (though goodness knows Alfred would hardly be the least egregious violator of protocol there) and wanting its specialized tools to examine it. Its after hours around 6pm and he used his advaned access to get into the facility and arrange for the two women to get access.

Talia al Ghul has posed:
Even worse than Kenesha to the Batcave would be Talia. So as she sits over then and crosses her fingers thoughtfully, she muses, "Have you made any outreach to the Kryptonians?" She goes to look somewhat irritable. Ever so annoying all powerful entities. Her hands would be held together over. "And xeno-botany is far from a field I have any fluency in, or extra-galactic politics. So I'll defer to your summations on the subjects and see what I can add from my father's narrative."

Kenesha has posed:
Receiving the call from Alfred puts a smile on Kenesha's face. After all, this means he's gotten himself out of the 'blame myself for everything' phase and is moving onto 'find out why this is happening' phase. And that's progress! Whether she would be impressed with the Batcave or not, she's more than happy to meet up at some other lab to help analyze footage and look for clues among the notes. Showing up promptly, there's some amusement at going through the signing in, getting a badge, etc. Smiling at Talia, she gives a nod, "Yes, I've spoken to both Power Girl and Superman. I've tried to aid them in their fight against the Hegemony. And sometime soon I need to reach back to Superman to try and share a little more of the Kheran culture with him and find out more of the Kryptonian culture." As far as the flower goes, she chuckles, "Well, thankfully, I'm old enough that I've 'dabbled' in almost everything at one point or another. And if needed, I can access most systems to dig up additional information. So lets see what we can find. Alfred?"

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
Alfred Pennyworth says, "Mistress Talia, I'm afraid that I am hardly an expert on those things either and if I am not bothering the Bat Family, I certainly wont bother people whose cultural I might have turned into a weapon of death unless sure; keeping the circle small, but here are my hand made notes" he shows the exhibition items and a checklist with notes, and on the screen, he shows logs, "And here is the log; no signature at all. No breach, which tells me the hardware in the museum was corrupted. Rather than go down that rabbit hole, I began a video analysis. I wanted a second opion though first. I do admit Kheran culture would be a fascintating follow up exhibition to the Kryptonian one which is proving insanely popular with museums around the world, many are booking years in advance. I'm authorizing none of it unless we can solve this little dust up though."

Talia al Ghul has posed:
Talia al Ghul would fold her hands together, "Well, if this is something from thier world that is a matter of extermination if utilized.." Well, she's just as happy to not have them be involved either. They tend to make everything problematic. "And no offense, but almost any location in this city has easily bypassed and corrupted security. It's all done rather piecemeal due to the rather unfortunate constant state of damage such locations incur."

Kenesha has posed:
"It isn't *just* from Krypton, though. My people have had it as well. As I said before, it's entirely possible that my people are responsible for the flower being here initially. To be quite honest, in the chaos of the battle and subsequent crash landing, I'm not sure anyone would have given any thought to if the flower survived and began seeding itself." Kenesha lifts a small shrug and looks to Alfred with a nod. "Alright, lets take a look at the analysis and see if we can concur, or if we spot anything different." A pause and then a shake of her head, "Nobody should ever celebrate Kheran culture. And certainly not here."

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
"I might imagine that except for this and the reason you're both here..." he puts up the screen showing the event and there is a moment where someone spills a drink, and there is something off about the splash. He slows down the frame, again and replays it. Its hard to make out but it appears to be a hand shape for just a moment before moving off the table, "Are my eyes deceiving me or is this actually what it looks like to either of you? I know what the AI says but I want a second opinion...or third in this case..." he sipts his tea. "And if so then I have a request on some additional analysis before altering a wider circle...."

Talia al Ghul has posed:
Talia al Ghul would go to fold her hands together and frown at this. "It does appear to be what you think itis." She moves over softly and then glances at it. "The question is given the smoothness of which this operation has been done so far was it a mistake or an intentional display?"

Kenesha has posed:
Kenesha watches the video, brows drawing together as they go through in real time, then drawing together further as it's slowed to show the hand shape. "I concur. That certainly seems to be a hand, an invisible hand, briefly made visible through the liquid." Letting out a breath, she shakes her head, "I have to think this is intentional. If they wanted to continue simply existing without being found out, they wouldn't have changed the display in the first place. They want it known." She looks to Alfred, "Someone is calling you out."

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
Alfred Pennyworth says, "I thought so....and I thought it might be a deliberate act, but it wasnt..." he shows a finger print, "I had them leave as much of teh area undistributed as possible and pulled prints. This is the only one unaccounted for...this is the other reason I wanted you here; and why I havent put the word out....I thought it might be deliberate...." he shows a finger print, then another much older. "The one on the right is the one I took from the table, the one on the left...its.....does it bear a resemblance?" There are many but not exact resemblances, but to either of them (given their intellgeince and memories) its the fingerprint of the son of the Invisible Man. He's clearly implying there might be a family resamblance."

Talia al Ghul has posed:
While she might have heard of the man, or perhaps even encountered him, telling such a specific reference was well beyond Talia's ken. Something her father could manage - or likely Damian, with his far broader scope of knwoledge. But she would just look at it and frown. "They do seem similar. Where is the first one from?"

Kenesha has posed:
Lifting a brow when he pulls out the side by side comparison of the prints, Kenesha looks back and forth between them for a few moments, then reaches into her satchel and pulls out her 'phone', which is really just a smartphone shaped piece of crystal that she uses to screen both prints. Setting the crystal down, she lets a holographic display pop up that will overlay the two prints and matches in the ridges and whorls will light up while they watch. At the end, the comparison shows a 72% compatibility. "I would say that's more than coincidence. Likely a direct family member."

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
Alfred Pennyworth says, "So...I'm not insane. And that means I'll share all the other things I've found about this....here's the thing...final immediate clue you were right and I was wrong about deliberate...." he points to a picture of the server, "I have not done a total analysis but we upgraded the servers in anticipation of supervillains attacking the event..we had everything upgraded, and ....well, the log is spotless but if you look at backup images on unconnected servers....the mention of Monocaine was removed..and they deliberately put it back. I dont think the hand was deliberate...I think so because of how quickyl it went under the table, but its almost like they wanted an excuseto let it be known publicly so it couldnt be traced back to them. Its baffling."

Talia al Ghul has posed:
Talia al Ghul would muse softly, "Well, then what is the sum totality of all these theatrics? Denial to give htemselves an excuse? Misdirection to take attention away from themselves?" She would tap at her chin. "There's no forensics evidence otherwise so this could be overlooked." She's thoughtful. Very, very thoughtful. Then she goes to slowly grin like a cheshire cat.
"All this for a little sleight of hand." Hopefully a Tim level snark might break Alfred somewhat out of his mental exhaustion.

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
Alfred Pennyworth shrugs, "I admit I dont know. I am baffled and have a family of insanely good detectives on it but since the two of you helped me climb down off the walls the other night I thought I'd check my sanity before potentailly looking foolish. Whoever this is, I think they've got balls of steel. Upsetting Kryptonians is never a good idea and now I wonder if somehow he found out who my employer is.

Talia al Ghul has posed:
Talia al Ghul would nod at Alfred, "Quite. So we have that it's likely been something in storage for nearly a century or something in someone's basket from offworld. I don't know about how many of your kind there are here that would have access to this and would want to bring it here.." A gesture is given to Kenesha as indication. "But the list of those on Earth that have connections to those who used it is necessary for review. That include some of those that assisted in destroying it. They wouldn't have kept it for personal use but to research it further in case it was used again, or in the hopes better technology would find a way to completely stop it."

Kenesha has posed:
"I can reach out to the Kyrptonians about it... but I can still pretty much guarantee that it was not the Kryptonians that brought it here originally, and I don't know that any of the Kryptonians here would even know what it is." Kenesha lifts a small shrug and glances up from where she's trying to run footage through her own systems remotely to try and pull out any additional information they might have. "I can also help supply a list of anyone that might have or had access to Monocain after the mass destruction of it."

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
Alfred Pennyworth says, "Evidence of the plant goes back thousands of years...if it was Kryptonians it was a long long long time ago. Given what Kenesha has told me of her people they sound more viable but it could have been many many ancient sources. Not my area of expertise. And that list would be helpful Kenosha. There are no KNOWN public descendants of that family; for that DNA would be flagged in any database in the world. Any descendants owuld have been monitored for obvious reasons. I think the game is afoot and we shall see what we can find on this person; there is a reason anyone who understands it doesnt study it; it brings madness and death. Every time."

Talia al Ghul has posed:
Talia al Ghul would nod over, "Well, there's politics to consider. This was made as a very public statement /about/ the Kryptonians. Why have it in storage and concealed for so long only to bring it out at an exhibit about them? That's where your primary incentive is going to be. So someone's patient with it for however long on Earth, or a descendent that has a hatred of them." What would they call him? Invisible Lad? Invisiboy?

Kenesha has posed:
"It may not be connected to the Kryptonians at all, in that respect. The exhibition could just have made for a convenient platform for the reveal, especially if the intent was to make sure that Alfred saw it." Kenesha lifts a small shrug, then nods to Alfred and turns back to the computer, typing in a few commands. "You should have the list printing out at the local printer to this machine within three minutes." Looking back to Talia, "Given that the original Invisible Man was from around the time of World War I, we'd be looking at a descendent, or the flower had some EXTREMELY unexpected side effects as far as longevity. But the difference in the prints also suggests a descendant, so I would say we're looking at a son or grandson of the original Invisible Man."

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
Alfred Pennyworth goes over and looks at the list, "More than I like but less than it could be. I'll spread this among the Bats and see what shakes out. If any take interest there is little they cannot collectively discover. I do agree that their motives are unkown....they might or might not have something in it for me personally. Longevity? In humans?" That seems to concern him most of all. People would do almost anything for invisibility, for longevity.....

Talia al Ghul has posed:
Talia al Ghul would nod at Kenesha, "You have a point. I'm projecting too much onto one possibility without evidence, and then grasping for a connection and self-perpetuating it." Faulting her own analysis. She would tap at her wrist thoughtfully. "A century or so? At the point of the war, do you have a rough estimate for his age? Place of birth?"

Kenesha has posed:
"To be fair, nearly each country that made up the Allied Forces had a stake and had at least one scientist that was allowed a clipping for research purposes... and equally unfortunately, many of those countries were later taken over by Nazi Germany and lost their clippings and research to Hitler and the SS. Some were retrieved and returned after the war but.. some quietly disappeared along with those members of the SS that were never found." Kenesha lifts a small shrug and frowns, "Too many governments were too cagey to let us handle the recovery." She turns a smile towards Talia, "He would have been in his early thirties around the time the monocaine was destroyed. If I remember correctly, he was a British man from around Sussex, maybe... Iping? Though I believe he lived in London by the time of the experiments."

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
Alfred Pennyworth says, ""Well he is certainly suspect number one and if invisbile it would explain how they got enough monocaine to do the conversion. The clippinngs were deliberately kept small enough not to allow madness or a person to turn themseles invisible...thats WHY it was allowed."

Talia al Ghul has posed:
Talia al Ghul would muse, "All right. The life expectancy of someone in England.. Let's presume born in roughly eightteen eighty or eightteen ninety? Would be about fourty to forty five years, give or take. So.. Great grandchild. Possibly further." She taps at her cheek. "Unless the age was extended quite a bit."

Kenesha has posed:
"True, but, and I believe I raised this objection at the time... anyone that was able to get enough of the clippings, or who had a good enough botanist.. could potentially start a new crop from the clippings that were provided. And if the SS had multiple of those clippings for, what, the better part of a decade? Longer? They absolutely had the opportunity to grow an entirely new crop either during or after the war. Especially if it's one of those former SS scientists that just.. slipped away. They've had access to some of the most advanced technology, magic, *and* the clippings. All at the same time." Kenesha shakes her head and sighs, "At this point, I think we need to mark off anyone of the list that still *has* their clippings... and then we can start tracing what happened to anyone that doesn't." She nods to Talia, "There's the possibility of it being the son or grandson. Remember, the second World War brought about the super soldier serum. An extended lifespan for humans is not outside the realm of possibility. And that's not even touching on anyone that might have accessed your father's means of.. rejuvenation."

Alfred Pennyworth has posed:
Alfred Pennyworth says, "Its a wide net to be sure, lets spread the clues but keep this tight. We have no idea what theperson is capble of though we should randomize our actions a bit more since with invisible people...." he looks around. "A good time to learn a dash of paranoia."
