Cupcake Delivery
Date of Scene: 23 May 2020
Location: Kaminari's Penthouse
Synopsis: Sally, Heidi and Kaminari have cupcakes. They are delicious. Also, Heidi is gonna be Kaminari's bodyguard. This won't end in disaster at all.
Cast of Characters: Sally Houki, Kaminari, Heidi Ingerdottir

Sally Houki has posed:
Kaminari got a text message!

Sally is coming by and she is bringing Heidi with her! They totally did something they want to share with her. Of course, given that Sally has Kaminari's number, that is to say an ACTUAL way to get in touch with her, the message will in fact actually be received.

Gotta bribe Goddess' on occasion, you know, and it's more difficult when you don't have a mountain of blow for them.

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari pulls out her phone when the message comes in. It is a wonderfully high tech contraption, the best that money can buy, and a present from Sally after she accidentally used too much lightning charging her previous phone and it exploded.

Reading the message Kaminari takes a moment to wipe the traces of white powder away from her nose, before picking up another phone and letting the front desk know that she is expecting visitors.

With that done Kaminari rises from her chair and fetches three antique sakazuki drinking vessels from her collection of dishware and retrieves an expensive bottle of specially imported Junmai Daiginjo Japanese rice wine from the chiller, setting it in a bucket of ice.

With that done, she fills her kiseru and lights it, lounging in a large plush armchair as she awaits the arrival of her guests.

Heidi Ingerdottir has posed:
Heidi is not entirely sure what to expect after the elevator takes them to the penthouse level of the building. "These buildings are much taller than the ones on Asgard... they tend to be more sprawling, take up more land. I am not sure I like being so high up without a pegasus." She's leading the way, despite not exactly knowing what she's doing or where she's going, and she stops outside the door to the penthouse. She doesn't ring the bell. She knocks. /Loudly/.

Sally Houki has posed:
Sally steps off the elevator with the confidence of those who've been here before and knows where they're going. She nods towards the door that Heidi strides up to and knocks onm so loudly, a reflexitive wince at the noise. Carefully held in her hands is a cardboard box.

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari likely knew they were there before the knock. Few sounds seem to escape the attention of the Goddess of Noise. One of the great inconveniences of the modern world though is that Kaminari cannot open doors with a gust of wind anymore, what with all of the autolocking mechanisms and deadbolts and other such things. Though such measures have unfortunately proved very necessary after several incidents involving overly zealous fans that somehow managed to track down where she was living at the time.

Rising from her chair, Kaminari takes a moment to fill the three sakazuki on the table with chilled sake and then saunters across the room to open the door before it is removed from its hinges.

There is a series of clicks and clacks as the various security measures are undone before the door finally swings open and there stands a somewhat energized looking Kaminari taking a pull off of her kiseru, though the high of the cocaine already seems to be fading based on her expression, it never lasts with divine physiology.

"Welcome, both of you. To what do I owe this surprise?"

Sally Houki has posed:
"I was bored so I made you something! Heidi helped a lot becasue I have no idea what I am doing most of the time." Also, without someone to mind her while cooking, she'd burn her house down halfway through the process.

It's happened before.

She holds the box out towards Kaminari. "These are totally for you!" She smiles cheerfully.

There are cupcakes inside. A couple dozen, actually. She was busy for a long while.

Heidi Ingerdottir has posed:
"I think we did an excellent job and they will taste absolutely delightful and I did not try one on the way over while friend Sally was not looking." Heidi couldn't help herself, and she grins. "But we had fun and made a mess but I am pretty sure Sally's sister agreed to clean."

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari accepts the box and steps back to let the others through the door into the entryway. "Why thank you. These look like wonderful little cakes." she smiles after accepting the box and having a look inside.

Leading the way she crosses the interior space of the Penthouse to the sitting room area once more and sets the box of cupcakes on the table next to the three sakazuki. It will no doubt be a fascinating pairing, homemade cupcakes and some of the best high quality sake that money can buy.

Into her chair she sinks once more, exhaling a long stream of smoke as she does, "Please make yourselves comfortable, you should drink that before it warms up. The chill brings out the subtler notes of the flavor." Gesturing to the three sakazuki.

Sally Houki has posed:
"We did do an excellent job. Who knew Heidi was a master cupcake maker?" suggests Sally, putting her hands together behind her back and looking off into sapce for a moment. She takes a seat, though. The cupcakes are super sugary and delicately frosted from the look of them. Heidi probably did some of that. Sally's lack of attention to detail probably precluded it.

"They're so cute!" She points at the sakazuki. Then she's getting ready to drink one.

Heidi Ingerdottir has posed:
Heidi is a bit of an artist when it comes down to it. While poetry is her professed art, she apparently has found some skill with frosting. "Perhaps I will take up baking as a hobby while I am here. I wonder if people would pay money for these..." And thus, a terrible scheme was born. She settles herself down, reaching for a sakazuki as she seems delighted to try something new.

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari seems slightly fascinated by the cupcakes in the box, one might almost guess that she has never been introduced to the concept of cupcakes before. Out of necessity her kiseru is momentarily set aside in an ashtray, left to trail smoke into the air, as she takes up a cupcake in one hand and a sakazuki in the other. "To wonderful friends!" she holds up her drinking vessel in a toast before taking a drink.

Following up the drink with a bite of the cupcake her eyes light up, "This is just like a cake, but smaller, and so sweet, and I love this frosting on top, you really are quite talented at this." The cupcake is quickly consumed. There's probably still a bit of cocaine in her system.

Once she has made her first cupcake disappear, she rises to fetch the chilled bottle and refill everyone's sakazuki.

Sally Houki has posed:
"Ooh that's a good idea! You can totally make money with cupcakes! It worked on 'Two Broke Girls'." It totally didn't work on Two Broke Girls, but you know, no one should expect Sally to pay enough attention to know that.

"I can forsee this going very well," she adds. Then she has a drink. Not her first time having sake, that's for sure.

Heidi Ingerdottir has posed:
"I can make a stand." Heidi is picturing it quite vividly in her head, though it's quite hard to see it from the outside. "I shall have to research. And I will have to find wood to build a stand." Clearly she plans on constructing it herself. Does she even have any carpentry experience?

Kaminari has posed:
"If you need supplies to build your stand, I am sure that shouldn't be hard to arrange, I have more human currency than I know what to do with. Just tell my Agent what you need and that I said to give it to you." she rummages through her purse for a few moments and comes out with one of the business cards of her poor and long suffering agent, before handing it over to Heidi.

Sally Houki has posed:
"...build your stand?" says Sally, blinking her eyes at Hedi. Then she covers her mouth and laughs, before she leans forward and adds to Kami, "Oh, Kami. You have frosting on your nose."

It's not frosting.

Heidi Ingerdottir has posed:
"Oh, that sounds wonderful. I have only a tiny portion of Midgardian currency as people are less willing to just give it to me. Perhaps I have worn my welcome out." Heidi doesn't seem /too/ disappointed though, and takes the offered card. "Perhaps I will put it in the park," she muses. "And shout very loudly to get people to purchase my wares."

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari shakes her head smiling at Heidi, one hand absently wiping the 'frosting' from her nose again, "It's not that they just give it to me, initially I sold a few relics, hopefully Amaterasu won't miss them. But usually people give you money for things like coming to concerts or buying copies of your music, or in this case selling them cupcakes. You could probably also make books of your stories and have those published for all of the humans to read if they buy your book. I'm sure my agent could put you in contact with a publicist." she gestures to the same card for her long suffering agent that she already handed to Heidi. "Just do what you're good at and you'll probably do it better than most humans so they'll pay you money for it."

Sally Houki has posed:
When Kaminari acknowledges selling relics, Sally just sort of doubletakes at her. 'Hopefully Amaterasu won't miss them', she mouths to herself, silently, as if she's making sure she got that right.

Then she turns her attention back to Heidi, adding, "You know, I could just give you the money." She has lots of it. This isn't a problem.

"Consider it... an investment. You can totally pay me back with extra cupcakes."

Heidi Ingerdottir has posed:
Selling relics sounds like a bad thing and Heidi briefly makes a skeptical face, but it's rapidly forgotten when Kami explains just how getting money on Midgard works. Do what you're good at? She blinks for a moment. "Midgardians will pay you not to be an asshole?" She's certainly confused as to how /that/ will work. "I do not think they are interested in me being a warrior or using a bow, I am not letting people take 'pony rides' on a royal asgardian pegasus, and I have rarely seen a poem worth ruminating over in all of Midgard." She sighs.

The offer of money from Sally is noted--both of them have offered her money now, but Sally's the first to make it more than charity. She studies Sally as if trying to find an ulterior motive. "How /many/ extra cupcakes?" She asks carefully.

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari leans back into her comfy plush chair savoring the bite she takes out of her second cupcake, "That's a marvelous idea Heidi, you're good at being a Warrior and I like you, why don't you become my bodyguard? All you have to do is protect me from overly zealous fans or anyone else that wants to hurt me and I pay you lots of human currency. How about that?" she goes in for another bite of cupcake, "And you can make all of the cupcakes you want, too. And have your stand when I don't need you for events and things?" she gives Sally a little shrug noting her reaction, like no big deal.

Sally Houki has posed:
"Well, like... a few dozen at least over time," suggests Sally to Heidi, smiling in her direction.

When Kami suggests Heidi as a bodyguard, she doubletakes at her. "That like... wouldn't cause some kind of pantheon dispute, would it?" she asks since, you know, Heidi is an ASgardian.

Heidi Ingerdottir has posed:
Heidi's gaze ping-pongs between Kami and Sally like some kind of volley in a championship match. "I... had never thought of the bodyguard thing. I suppose it is not beneath me as Kami /is/ a goddess, so I would consider it a very honorable thing. However, obviously my loyalty is to Asgard... but I could certainly defend her. And you would pay me in Midgardian currency for this? It seems an awfully easy task and I am surprised that one as strong as yourself would even need someone to..." She makes a shooing motion, or perhaps one that looks like someone swatting a fly. Either way the sentiment is the same.

She does glance back to Sally, giving a shrug. Bodyguarding /is/ a tempting offer...

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari finishes her second cupcake sucking the last bits off of the ends of her fingers as she lounges, "It's not that I really /need/ it per se, but it frees me up to be able to do other things. You also enjoy fighting more than I do. Usually I just do it when I'm angry about something. I saw you in that cage though, you were superb and your joy was clear. Everyone should do what they like. You should definitely pursue this cupcake thing also, because these are amazing. I am not asking you to do anything against Asgard, except maybe help me get some more of that mead... or an adventurous visit, I know where your loyalties are and that's fine. We can have many loyalties and priorities. Bodyguards acting officially also get some special privilages under the human law, above and beyond what I would be entitled to just defending myself."

She glances in Sally's direction when she expresses concern, "I don't see where the dispute is, it's just a job like any other."

She crosses her legs lightning up her kiseru again, "Well, it's up to you. It just seems like a useful option for all concerned."

Sally Houki has posed:
"Well, I mean, she can pay you a lot more than I can and is way more likely to get you into the kind of trouble that can prove yourself to Asgard, so take *her* job," says Sally, "Of course, Kaminari would never do anything that would put you in a bad position intentionally," she adds, nodding.

Then she finishes off a cupcake.

Heidi Ingerdottir has posed:
"Well, I don't particularly feel as if it is a bad option." Heidi muses. "Alright, I will do it if you need me to." Well, maybe not /need/, but she likes to at least feel like she has a sense of importance. She turns to Sally. "I will also make you cupcakes because you seemed excited about them."

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari smiles blowing out a long trail of scented smoke, though she is still eyeing the box of cupcakes as if contemplating a third. "Wonderful, I will have my agent get the necessary paperwork together? Do you have a bank account or will we need to set one up for you?"

She nods to Sally, "Of course I wouldn't, I like Heidi." leaving unsaid what she might do to those she doesn't like. "And I mean just look at her, any overzealous fan will think twice about harassing me when confronted with a warrior like Heidi."

A moment later her resistance crumbles and she is reaching for a third cupcake.

Sally Houki has posed:
"I knew she'd like the cupcakes," says Sally, absently, eyes flickering closed for a moment.

"They're delicious. You really do make a mean cupcake, Heidi!" She is ignoring her own contributions in cupcake crafting for the time being. For one, she's feeling something akin to dread. Just a concern, but then it's absently brushed away.

"I'm sure everyhing will work out, especially in time for the concert," she adds.

"Oh, that's right! The concert!" She'd almost forgotten and just reminded... herself, really.

Heidi Ingerdottir has posed:
"I do not have a bank account," Heidi seems a little confused about the process. "I just keep it in a jar in my home." It's the most convenient location for cash, after all. "You are right, friend Sally, the cupcakes are alluring to all. I shall certainly have to make more of them for others." She looks over between the two of them. "Ah, the concert. I assume then I can help for that."

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari looks between Heidi and Sally studying her latest cupcake for a moment, "You had a hand in these too, didn't you Sally? Are both your talents not necessary to produce more?"

She nods to Heidi, "It makes it easier to transfer larger amounts of currency. We should probably also get you a debit card, so you can spend money without having to withdraw it. Really human technology is quite convenient. I can use a little card to spend as much money as would fill an entire room in a matter of moments. They are so innovative with their uses of captured lightning. As for the concert, yes definitely. It would be scandalous if someone were able to sneak into my dressing room after all. And there is a party my agent put in my event schedule after the first concert that you should accompany me too also. Because parties are fun but you never know what could happen. So you should come and have fun, too."

Her attention shifts back in Sally's direction again, "Will you be going to that? Tony Stork's birthday, I think it is?"

Sally Houki has posed:
"I can help you with a bank account later, Heidi," oh no, someone save Heidi from Sally tryiong to help her with a bank account. That wonm't go well.

Then she fixes her eyes on Kaminari when she asks about the birthday party. "Who? Oh. Tony Stork! Right. Uh... no? Probably not? I mean, why would I have an invitation?" Maybe she missed the news about the birthday bash because it's obvious she doesn't think it's somewhere she'd be invited.

Heidi Ingerdottir has posed:
Everyone's being so nice and trying to help her! Heidi does seem relieved. "Midgard is so confusing sometimes. As long as someone can explain how to use the card I am certain things will be just fine." Money's just an inconvenience. She blinks in surprise. "Stork! Oh, he is the one with the Avengers, yes? That would make him friends with Prince Thor."

Kaminari has posed:
"I think so?" Kaminari doesn't seem incredibly familiar, "I may have heard something like that. Anyway he's apparently throwing a big party, the sort of thing where all the beautiful people are there and my agent added it to my schedule. Perhaps I will finally get a chance to meet Prince Thor then."

She looks curiously at Sally, "Don't you usually get invited to high society events? I know you're not exactly hurting for money. I mean if you want to come to I can probably have Hanako work something out. That woman is a saint, I don't know what I would do without her. And there's no need to trouble yourself, she can help Heidi set up a bank account while they are taking care of the other paperwork."

Sally Houki has posed:
"...nnnnnnnnnnno? I mean, I've got plenty of moeny but, you know, I don't exactly make it in high society. Besides! I should probably keep a low profile. I don't wanna get in the papers." She puts a finger over her lips.

"Nobody really knows me so I don't go to things like that!" She kicks back, hadns together behind her head. "You're actually like the most famous person I know! Conventionally famous. And you're the only ASgardian I've ever met, Heidi, and it's SO COOL."

Heidi Ingerdottir has posed:
"Being an Asgardian is a great thing, but it does not certainly mean I'm anywhere near the level of an event such as that. Prince Thor certainly makes sense to attend, he has friends that might be there," Heidi shrugs a little. "But I imagine it is fun to pretend you belong for a while." She grins slightly. "You could wear a disguise, friend Sally."

Kaminari has posed:
Sally gets a knowing nod as Kaminari takes another bite of cupcake, she's really quite taken with them, appropriate offering indeed. "It's fine Heidi," she says with a wink, "As my bodyguard, you get to go wherever I go. To keep me safe, and also enjoy the party."

Sally Houki has posed:
"It's true! THat's a perk. You are gonna see *so* many cool things, Heidi," says Sally, warmly, to her.

"I mean, cool things of Kaminari's," she adds, gesturing at the Goddess who's penthouse she's visiting.

".. more cool things. I mean, not that Asgard isn't AMAZING. It has pegasus, but I mean, cool Midgardian things!"

She nods, a big old smile on her face.

Heidi Ingerdottir has posed:
"Ah, it would be nice to see places that not many people get to go to," Heidi does like the idea of seeing /all/ aspects of Midgard and she's not exactly high-society on Asgard. Her proximity to Sif is about as good as it gets. She looks over towards Sally after a moment. "I am certain you will eventually get to see cool Asgardian things."

Sally Houki has posed:
"I've already seen a cool Asgardian thing," chirps Sally, happily. There's a brief pause before she elaborates, "That pegasus is SO cool," she tells Heidi.

She she snatches another cupcake, gets frosting on her nsoe, and eats it.

"I really should do a better job keeping a low profile, though. I feel exposed lately." She muses aloud. Then her phone dings. She ignores it completely.

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari gives Sally a momentary curious look but doesn't press her on the whole need to keep a low profile thing. "I should like to see a Pegasus myself one day. We have many creatures in the Japanese isles and Takamagahara, but winged worses are not among them. I have heard they are beautiful and then there's that /mead/. We really should go on that adventure to Asgard, I am sure you can show me many amazing sights as well." She's been eating as she's been talking and soon the third cupcake has vanished as well.

Heidi Ingerdottir has posed:
Heidi is not eating the cupcakes. She has snuck many already during the baking process and now she does not want to lessen the supply. Plus Sally and Kami are both enjoying them! "I will see if I can arrange a trip to Asgard, hopefully it won't be too much of a challenge." She pauses. "But I can certainly bring Eira by. She is the pegasus I am training as my own, for when I am a valkyrie."

Sally Houki has posed:
"You make the best cupcakes, Heidi," says Sally, warmly, to her. Then she nods to Kaminari. "She gave me a ride on it. It was amazing! I missed the first one but I definitely saw the second," she explains. She reaches over and puts a hand on Heidi's arm. "We should get going. We're keeping Kaminari from important, like, Godly business."
