Yacht Party
Date of Scene: 08 June 2024
Location: Level 4 - Recreation - The Roost
Synopsis: The Outsiders fight off Gila and the Hunter-Killers and manage to capture some criminals. The submarine-yacht blows up, but they can have the party in the batplane, so nothing important is lost.
Cast of Characters: Conner Kent, Rose Wilson, Kiden Nixon, Laura Kinney, Tim Drake
Tinyplot: Outlaw Island Gamorra

Conner Kent has posed:
"It is rude to come uninvited," states Gila, barely glancing to Carrie and Kiden. "That goes for you too," he adds for Nina. "I sent a message first," replies the woman. "Besides, I am sure you can handle American superheroes, they are way over my pay grade." She is sliding aside, apparently not liking the idea of standing on the way of dangerous women with just two bullets in her pistol.

Then there is an impact. That is the motorboat hitting the side of the yacht and getting very, very destroyed. They are not made for ramming, really. Laura manages to land on the deck, rolling and rolling almost to fall on the other side. Rose? Hopefully she jumped before the crash.

Then there is a second impact. That is Superboy landing on the front of the boat and cracking the fake wood deck. "Nice yacht-submarine-thing. We don't see this kind of super-villain contraption much nowadays." He grins, and folds his arms over the red S in his chest. "Wanna surrender now?" He asks Gila.

The gaunt man was barely fazed by both events, and turns to Conner. "Why? Because you can fly? Really..." he pulls a hand from under the poncho, holding a small box he opens up. "I have this space rock that says you are dead, boy."

Conner staggers as he sees something crystalline, green and glowy in the box. And quick as a viper Gila brings the other hand from under the poncho, this one with a huge handgun. BLAM.

The bullet puts a huge hole in the middle of Conner chest and sends him flying off the yacht.

Gila turns. "Ladies. Shall we dance?"

Four black-clad men crawl off hatches in the deck. They are obvious cyborgs, with gothic leanings, decorated firearms and curved, serrated bladed weapons, shark teeth, crazy grins. Skin pale, greenish, smelling a like gunpowder and rotten meat.

Hunter-Killers from Gamorra.

Rose Wilson has posed:
'Not a real yacht' -- "What do you /mean/ it's not real?!" ... "I'm still ramming it!"

Not unlike Laura, Rose preps for impact. Both swords are at the ready but with the plan of flipping sideways toward the notyacht since running while recovering from a pair of gunshot wounds isn't fun. Neither is leaping sideways, though it does amount to fewer motions overall.

Is the yacht real? Is it fake? Do the two collide with a 1980's action movie style explosion? What probably matters more is that Carrie and Kiden still have a functional means for them all to get back to shore when they're done because there's no way Rose's boat is going anywhere but straight down after this.

Somewhere following the sounds of collision comes a rattled Ravager rolling across the fake deck until she can jam her blades into the structure and come to an abrupt stop. She's not comfy, she's not well, but it's the sort of bold and reckless entrance she can get behind.

Conner shows up at the perfect opportunity! While he's making his grand entrance she's peeling herself off the deck and wobbling back onto her feet aaand Conner just got shot. CRUD. And--and there's cyber-nasties to fight now, and Rose LOVES fighting things and Conner's somebody else's problem now, and--

And she's having a pang of guilt. Wait /is/ that guilt? It's /some/ kind of emotional reaction... Frankly, she isn't enjoying the experience!

Oh, /gooood./ If someone else (and more capable) doesn't go for the guy then she'll have to do it. Damn this whole 'having feelings' bull!

Kiden Nixon has posed:
Kiden is already on board, she and Carrie had this great plan to grab the gold-mask guy and toss his ass overboard. Only then... Conner shows up.. and gets shot. Fucking Kryptonite! Before he can even fall more than a few feet, she's in No Time and racing for the edge of the fake yacht. And diving over the edge.

This is going to get interesting. Kiden's never tested this aspect of her power in water. She hits the water right as Conner does, popping out of No Time long enough to grab him, then retreating back into the safety of No Time with Conner in tow. It should look fairly interesting to anyone that sees it! Kiden disappears, Conner hits the water, and so does Kiden! Then both of them disappear again.

Thankfully, there's no need to breathe in No Time. No pain. No getting hurt. So while Conner is shot, he can see the hole, feel it, he can't feel the pain of it. At least for now.

Kiden gets him into a rescue hold and starts swimming them towards the speedboat she can Carrie left idling near the yacht when they grapple-gunned aboard. Hauling him along until they can get into the boat. She looks at him, smiles, and gives him a quick kiss. "It's gonna hurt when you leave No Time.. but this should give you time to get rid of that pesky bullet and heal up in the sun. We got this."

Laura Kinney has posed:
What does Laura mean by not a real yacht? Mostly that there is an underwater submarine and the yacht is probably just an elaborate ruse to allow the submarine part a way to take on supplies without anyone knowing. But she doesn't really have the time needed to explain all of this. Because by the time Rose is done asking it's time to jump off.

Her landing might bring her close to the other side of the boat. But that's exactly where she intended to be.

Or at least it's not crushed between the yacht and the boat. Or in the sea. So basically close enough.

Sadly because she was geared up for a stealth mission and they got ambushed by cyborg zombies X-23 is down to a single handgun (not her own) with no bullets. And a length of rope with a sharpened metal spike on the end (formerly an anchor).

"Dance?" she blinks. "If you're going to try and kill us could you please do it without the cliches?" The rope gets uncoiled and whirled around in an arc. "Or at least wait until someone who engages in quipping is on board."

There's no waiting around though. She speeds up the whirling of the improvised rope dart and hurls the jagged metal weight at one of the Hunter Killers.

Tim Drake has posed:
Those with some of those intense and incredible senses may be able to hear the arrival of a familiar tech based jet. Maybe even can feel the shift in the winds changing as the most black with dark red accents of said jet soars into the skies above. It is only there for a moment before something falls out of it.

<< "Sorry, I'm late." >>

That voice of sneaks right into comms of the rest of the Outsiders. There's a bit of his classic sarcasm and dry wit applied to these words. << "Traffic." >>

For the communications to be so clear, that must mean that Red Robin has arrived on the scene. Or, well, is arriving on the scene considering the fact that the thing that was dropped out of that arriving flying vehicle of Gothamite Justice is the skydiving body of Red Robin! His arms are pressed to his sides as he tears through the open air, divebombing like a hawk or something, in the direction of that Yacht.

IIt pays to keep track(er cough) of your team even when not accompanying them personally.

Red Robin's eyes narrow behind the lenses of his mask and he opens his arms wide as he approaches the Yacht from above. The wings of his suit opening to reveal the gliding capabilities that make this particular suit something a bit more worthy of attention. If not the suit? Then maybe the handful of Red Robin symboled explosive discs raining down upon the Hunter-Killers from above. Each of them ready to put a little bang in their vicinity.

It also helps with giving Red Robin a stylish landing in which he can make his presence more visually known. Especially with the way his boots hit the ship and he offers, in his best Ewan McGregor: "Hello there."

Conner Kent has posed:
Conner has feelings about Kryptonite, and choice words too! Which he can't express because, well, he thinks one of his lungs just got obliterated. Possibly with a chunk of his heart. He really hopes solar energy can supply the need of oxygen and circulation for an hour or so.

"Great, love you," he says to Kiden, or vocalizes. "Two bit gangsters shouldn't have kryptonite, be careful."

Meanwhile, at the boat. Gila tsks. "Speedster? One not in the records. Annoying." He shoots a couple times in Kiden general direction on the general idea it is better to keep the speedster dodging, and not attacking. They tend to hit hard.

And then Robin arrives. The Hunter-Killer Laura was targeting was able to grab the rope, and was aiming a submachine gun at the brunette when the discs fall among the cyborgs. They attempt to dodge and mostly manage - they are quick, and look like veterans. But one of them loses a leg, and goes overboard, sinking like a rock. No worries, probably he didn't need to breathe anyway.

The leaves them somewhat vulnerable, though, just as Rose was standing up.

Rose Wilson has posed:
Suddenly: A wild Robin has appeared. < I swear to god if you put a tracker in my swords again... > Rose warns. (Oh, and nice to see you!)

Kiden's got Conner. Tim's offering distractions. Laura's leading the assault. And Rose...is eager. Most notably on the one with an SMG who tried to shoot Laura, even though they all know she's highly likely to survive such an encounter. Doesn't matter. Rose is kinda fond of Laura.

Thus with the blades still hooked into the largely trashed notyacht deck she launches herself forward, existing injuries be damned! Scrappers gonna scrap, she'll just toss herself right at the collection of enemies and Start Swingin.' Whatever happens happens, but she's plenty motivated and riding on a solid adrenaline rush.

The others can cover the quips, humor, and elaborate introductions. Ravager just wants to see cybernetic body parts fly.

Kiden Nixon has posed:
"Love you, too. Now rest and heal. We got this." She drops a kiss to his forehead, then releases Conner from No Time while she dives back into the water, this time using the same net/ladder that Gila had tossed out for the chick Rose had chased down that lead to the speedboat chase in the first place.

Kiden hops back aboard the yacht, taking in the scene, the chaos. She grabs up one of those flotation rings kept around in case someone goes overboard, keeping the rope wrapped around her wrist as she starts to move through the Hunter-Killers, past her friends and teammates. She has a mission. Take the Kryptonite from the man in the mask... and shove it somewhere SUPER uncomfortable.

The nice thing about being mistaken for a speedster? They never see her coming. There's no contrail, no dust cloud, no whirring sound of a body moving at speeds it was never meant to. She's just... suddenly THERE. Or, well, she will be. Soon.

Laura Kinney has posed:
X-23 doesn't mind if the Hunter Killer grabs the rope. It just means that when the explosions go off she can yank back on it. Pulling the jagged metal remains of the anchor into it's hands. It's not much. But she didn't expect to be doing serious damage with an improvised weapon she made during a speed boat chase.

It's just enough of an annoyance to cover her while she charges across the deck.

Hand and foot claws pop with that distinctive SNIKT.

Assuming that one submachine gun wasn't the sole arsenal available she's already tracking angles of fire with her enhanced senses. Twisting and dodging so she'll be difficult to aim at. Her hand claws ready to cut bullets from the air while her foot claws dig into the deck to prevent slippage.

It won't take long for her to cover the distance. And when she's up close? Well those claws will cut limbs as easily as they slice bullets.

Tim Drake has posed:
"Superboy! You better be alive!"

Red Robin just needs to hear Conner's voice for security because that's one of his best friends and he's going to go insane on these people if they have killed him. So if he can just get confirmation, that's all he needs.

Red Robin comes off his utility belt with a handful of smoke pellets to toss in the direction of the Hunter-Killers (and maybe even Gila. It's all to help the others, who are more equipped for ruining their collective days (violently) be able to put them to bed with ease. Everyone on this particular field op is primed and capable of fighting through smoke screens. Do you know how many training sessions Red Robin has scheduled on this alone?! /He's/ the only one that needs his Bat-Lenses to see.

"Gonna' try something." Red Robin pulls to the side, hopefully using some of the smoke to keep him hidden while the powerhouses... powerhouse. "Gonna' try something." He flips up his gauntlet computer and tries to get a lock on the Hunter-Killers. If he can maybe hack into the cyborg parts of them, maybe he can do some damage in a way more suited to his Nerd Robin Styles.

If not, the rest of the team will make them no longer alive.

Conner Kent has posed:
The cyborgs do indeed have more weapons, some integrated and some hand-wielded, curved blades with serrated edges. They curse in some dialect that sounds like Japanese, they grin like berserks, and they meet the women's blades matching them in speed and determination, willing even to get stabbed or lose limbs if they can do the same to them.

Meanwhile Nina Cruz seems to be trying to sneak off the fighting, and maybe down into the ship, and Gila seems to be considering if he is going to shot her in the back or what. He doesn't look worried about the fight in front of him.

Robin finds the cyborgs. Well, yeah, they are communicating through wifi, but not the usual frequencies, also, the data is all gibberish. Those are bizarre communication protocols, as Carrie already found out. It doesn't feel alien, but it is for all effects.

And the third cyborg breaks through the smoke, thanks to his IR-equipped bionic eyes, and comes charging towards Tim. Serrated cutlass in his right hand, and a gothic-themed revolver in his left, shooting at the young man.

Rose Wilson has posed:
Again with the smoke -- "Always with the smoke!" Rose gripes. Can she fight without her remaining eye? Sure! Does she LIKE to? Nope! And worst of all, any precog ability she has is all the more diminished when she can't see her opponent(s). There's several all surrounding her now (because she was an idiot and put herself there) so it's impossible to stay purely focused on any one of them. It's a proper disadvantage!

The first solution is to get OUT of the middle and tackle these cyber-weirdos from the side but to do THAT without getting pincushioned by blades she needs an opening and they're not seeming too fond of providing one.

There's a lot of clanging and clashing, yelling and swearing, but as she gives in to the rush of battle she's slowly losing both blood and ground.

Still not finding her window she instead makes one by force, sacrificing a few more solid cuts to her person as she bursts back out onto the deck looking like she just had a serious motorcycle wipeout on the Autobahn.

"Screw these guys!"

Strength waning, Rose winds up for a 'done messing around' decapitation. Bounce back from THAT, ugly!

Kiden Nixon has posed:
Kiden wants to hit Gila. She wants to hit him so hard it cracks that stupid mask on his stupid face. But there's something more important that she has to do first. Approaching Gila, she moves carefully, not touching the man himself, just checking his pockets for... ah. Kryptonite. There it is. She pulls it into No Time with her, tucking it into a pocket of her shorts.

Then she steps back and looks him over, looking for anything that might be harmful if left on him. The gun is about to not matter at all, so she dismisses that. Seeing nothing else that immediately jumps out, Kiden smiles. A grim, unpleasant smile.

The safety ring gets tossed, angled and tossed just so that it SHOULD catch Gila... though obviously, the math can only go so far.

Then she steps up and mule kicks the man in the diaphragm. It breaks her out of No Time. But Gila is about to take a short but painful trip.

Laura Kinney has posed:
"Who needs eyes to see?" Laura calls out in response to Rose complaining. "Just click your tongue and echo locate." Is she joking? Possibly not. But then with her enhanced senses Laura can track by scent, sound, probably even using some martial arts technique to track enemies based on the movement of the wind against her skin.

The Hunter Killers she's fighting don't care about taking a hit if it means they can hit her back. It's like they're playing from Laura's sheet music. No need to parry when her claws can simply slice through any incoming weapons. And dodging. Well that's for people who don't heal.

Or who are worried about specific super deadly ammunition. Probably Tim is going to insist Conner does some extra 'dodge bullets' practise.

Leaping and whirling. It's only a matter of time before she's cut her opponent into pieces. Adamantium makes a mockery of even the best conventional armour. And if she takes a cut here or there? She trusts healing factor will deal with it. The downside is between her, Rose, and the Hunter Killers the deck is probably slippery as heck with blood and chemicals.

Tim Drake has posed:
"Always when I'm hacking..."

Red Robin pushes 'Enter' on his program to see if it can't start trying to sledgehammer its way into the cyborg systems and implant this virus that Tim has whipped up for these kind of occasions: 3Stooges.exe

But that's no longer his concern because he's not twirling and extending that staff to aim for that gothic-revolver carrying hand that's firing a shot at him, while also trying to bend backwards and out of the way. There's now a hole in his glider cape that could've been in, well, him. "Rude." There's a cutlass nearby as well so he's going to have to prepare to dodge that too but it's always a lot to keep track of in these kind of situations.

"Agreed. We should probably put them down now. Or soon. Whatever you all prefer." Another quip from Red Robin as he flicks a flashbang at the face of the cyborg that's trying to put him into this thing called a grave.

That should give someone with some blades time to obliterate this other cyborg.

Conner Kent has posed:
As Kiden can attest, Gila is also a cyborg. Kicking him is like kicking a concrete wall. Fortunately, Kiden can kick a concrete wall and put a dent on it when she drops from no-time like that.

Now, he is an old cyborg, he has been around for decades, and he is one of Gamorra's best, with enough super-tech on his body he could give Victor Stone a run for his money. He even had speed-force countermeasures, which fail to activate to Kiden's temporal powers.

The final result is similar to being hit by a speeding truck. The exoskeleton absorbs much of the kinetic force, although there are some minor fractures, and he goes flying over the bow of the yacht. Surprised for an instant, then he attempt to shoot Kiden before hitting the water with his back. He sinks, of course.

Meanwhile the two cybogs fighting Rose and Laura are making a mess. Rose's precognition saves her from being eviscerated, and gives her the edge to obtain that fatal decapitation, but she is going to need stitches, so many stitches.

Laura didn't even bother about the evisceration bit. Good workout for the healing factor, or something. Her dance partner stops moving after being stabbed with adamantion like 20 times in 20 places a normal human would have found deadly. Looks like number 20 -was- deadly. Or at least, he stopped stabbing. Maybe he can be fixed, but for now he is dead-ish.

And Robin dodges like bats do, countering superior strength and agility with skill and gadgets. The cyborg looks bothered by the flashbang at point black, maybe overloaded his sensors, but he is slashing blindly in Tim's general direction.

Rose Wilson has posed:
Rose is having a problem. It isn't the cyborgs, oh no. It's that Laura is making this look far too easy by comparison. That darn little mutant scrapper's makin' her look bad!

This simply will not do.

Seeing Tim dealing with a cyborg of his own, one who is conveniently not focused on the two edgy ladies, she's in motion the instant she sees a window. Each blade is given a fancy twirl about as she rushes up behind the part-man-part-machine-all-disgusting creation with the intent on driving each longsword down from its shoulders toward its pelvis.

If she can get 'em wedged in there good and solid, the next stage might require some physical therapy. Putting what's left of her strength into the motion she'll try to rip the blades out sideways, and split the baddie into ragged pieces along the way. Raaaugh!

Kiden Nixon has posed:
"Cute." Kiden pops back into No Time at the sight of the gun going off, looking to make sure that the bullet isn't going to hit one of her friends before she sidesteps it and looks towards where Nina was headed. Stalking off in that direction to try and find her before she can meet up with whoever is below in the submarine.

Surely the team could stand to interrogate her. Learn more about Gila's overall plan, put a stop to these cyborgs once and for all. And hey, she might get to punch someone again! Which actually DOES make her feel better about Conner getting shot.

Hopefully, this will help even more!

Laura Kinney has posed:
To add insult to injury by the time the smoke clears Rose will probably see X-23 grinning at her. First she's sassing her about being a better shot. Now she's casually outdoing her in the 'getting stabbed and not caring' field.

The pool of Laura's blood is likely a lot bigger than the one Rose is standing in. But that's pretty much how Laura rolls. Is it healthy or practical? No. But does it work? Yes, yes it does. (At least for those lucky enough to have an absurdly strong healing factor anyway)

With the Hunter Killers just about dealt with she sets off on her own hunt. Sniffing the air and searching for threats. Claws digging into the fake yacht to keep her purchase. <Do we need Gila? Or are we letting him sink?>

Conner Kent has posed:
With Rose stabbing the last cyborg and Gila sinking, the fight in the deck seems to be over. There is, of course, a whole Yacht that could be full of enemies, not to mention the submarine underneath. But as Kiden finds out, it is mostly empty. She follows Nina to the cyborg lab, where a few oriental-looking engineers are working on a trio of latin-looking cyborgs. Those men are mostly harmless.

But Gila is still around, and deeply unhappy. Not only he was pushed of his fancy yatch, but four of his best minions have been defeated. Why, he trained them himself! <<Attention. This facility will self-destruct in a minute. Please, evacuate the premises in an orderly fashion.>> Fair warning. In Japanese, of course.

Just as Kiden was about to punch Nina Cruz, the lights inside the sub go all red, and the engineers go panicking.

Tim Drake has posed:
When Rose finishes putting the blades to the cyborg in front of him, he offers a grin of gratitude. "I blame you for me finding that hot." is the quip that Rose gets from the Reddest Robin. He just kind of leaves that accidental flirting in the air in favor of turning his attention to the rest of this here battle.

He doesn't know if there's anything that his virus can do to help but he's going to have to play defense and assist with trying to keep the rest of these amazing teammates above board.

"I'll keep watch." is offered to the team so that he Red Robin can do some gauntlet computer stuff and assist with from a distance while the rest of the more violent team puts these foes all the way down.

Rose Wilson has posed:
There may be a few torn muscles but nothing as bad as the mess Rose makes of that last cyborg. There she stands, ragged and worse for wear but still fully capable of giving Tim a somewhat demonic grin with his remark. "I regret nothing." She follows up with an air-kiss to keep the teasing mutual.

Down below a self-destruct starts, which comes with a voiced warning in Japanese. This should certainly clue in some (most (all?)) people still onboard but for the amped up Rose who's now got all of her senses intact, she /sees/ what's coming in their immediate future.

"BOMB! Get clear!"

Swords return to scabbards. Anything of interest is left on the deck, she can find her own SMGs and Laura SHOULD still have her fancy gold revolver. All that's left is to find the boat Carrie and Kiden had arrived on and sprint-leap after it unless a better option happens to present itself!

Laura Kinney has posed:
Laura at least speaks Japanese. They trained her in several languages at The Facility. But even if they hadn't? Well you need to speak the language if you're going to have honour duels on a rooftop while the Sakura blossoms fall. And quite frankly that's the absolute best way to have fights with ninja.

It's just not the same when the ninja speak in English.

But that's a topic for another time. A time when fewer things are about to explode. If anything looks immediately clue-like she'll grab it. And then either leap over the side or just slice a hole in the side. Depending on how deeply into the depths of the yacht/submarine her search had got. Either way it's handy her disguise was a swimsuit. Because she's going to have to swim over to their escape route.

As for Rose's gun? She still has it! Although sadly it's going in the water along with Laura. So probably will need extra thorough cleaning. Fancy gold plated weapons are usually not used for underwater operations after all..

Conner Kent has posed:
Fortunately Nina also speaks Japanese. Well, she has a translation chip in her head. Thanks to Kiden no-time, no one dies when the lab explodes, not even the half-made cyborgs. They all get put in the yacht lifeboats, while the Outsiders ride the surviving motorboat into the sunset. Conner is mostly healed when they get back to the batjet.

Gila has to walk back to Tijuana. Underwater. Gives him time to plot a suitable revenge.
