- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen has been out doing some shopping to get people, and pets favorite foods. So with a burst of wind, the speedster is in the kitchen stocking the cabinets, and making himself a rather large scooby doo style sandwich.
- Hope Summers has posed:
It's been some time since Hope's been here. Months of no communication, nothing. No cryptic messages (which are her style) or even a 'oh hey, back later' message in passing.
Now, the redhead returns, backpack pulled off as she moves through the front door. The sound of the portal opening and closing can undoubtedly be heard through the front portion of the residence. Footsteps, then, undoubtedly somewhat familiar, sound, and while they're on their way to the stairs, there is a pause, then a change of destination to the kitchen.
A wave comes from the redhead, backpack now slung over one shoulder in a more casual angle, but there is no hiding that it has some weight to it. "Hey," is given with a smile.
- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks over and smiles as he sees one of his friends and fellow future kids. He waves and says "Hey there, been a bit, you back in town for a while?" He asks and then starts to get another plate "Want something to eat or drink?"
- Hope Summers has posed:
Hope shakes her head quickly, the smile remaing, "I'm good. Just had some pizza." First things first, after all. When one isn't all that certain about a 'next meal', food is important. Therefore, the offer is appreciated!
"Been a little while, yeah," she begins again, shifting her backpack before giving up and setting it to the ground next to her. "Went to Alaska." Her smile shifts, and there's a little bit of wistfulness to it. "Just wondered what it looked like here." Nothing familiar. "Then, visited dad. Helped him out a little." Here, her voice warms; she's very close to Cable. "Will probably go back out to Madripoor sooner rather than later. Just to make sure we keep a foothold there."
And best chances to off Stryfe.
"How's it going with you?"
- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks over and nods. He continues making his food eatting some as he makes the sandwich "Ah am doing ok, and if you need a ride out to Madripoor or somewhere else, you know all ya gotta do it ask, and I will break out the Impulse Shaw for ya.
- Hope Summers has posed:
"Got it covered, but thanks," Hope begins, her words honest, "I appreciate it, and will absolutely keep it in mind." Even with Cable's 'slide' being down, there are more than a few teleporters that she can tap into and use their abilities. And when all else fails? Hire a slow boat...
She leans on the door jamb, her head canting in a quirked inquiry, "Just 'okay'? Nothing fun and or interesting? I'm sure //something// has your attention."
- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen shrugs a bit and says "Been busy with work and school recently, we did have a new polar exhibit at the zoo, so we had to put in a whole lot of extra security for it. I swear I think they about want to surround it with heaters, to see if it keeps Freeze and Penguin out.
- Hope Summers has posed:
Hope's expression turns to a frown as she leans against the threshold. "Seriously? They'd actually //take over// a polar exhibit just because of the animals and display?" She shakes her head and murmurs something that is undoubtedly a swear in her own time and place. "That's just rude." Heh.
"I'd seriously take what I'm dealing with over squatters like that." Evil mutants that want them dead as a personal thing? Absolutely.
- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen says, "Well, with the fact we end up getting animals from when this or that guy gets caught, and we try to rehabilitate them, yea we have to worry about most all of them. Luckily with Harley being semi good they quite trying to get us to watch Bud and Lou." He looks over and says "If anything I can help with I will.""
- Hope Summers has posed:
"'Bud and Lou'?" Brows rise in question as she leans to pick her backpack up again from the floor, but this time holding it by its handle. "I'm glad there's a place for them." She's never gotten close to animals, never having a 'stable' life. Would have to leave them behind with every time jump, so it really never registers. They're 'background' fauna.
She chuckles and shakes her head again, a slow shrug rising from a single shoulder. "More mutant stuff. 'We want to take over and subjugate' sort of thing. Only the one this time, dad and I know him from.. other times." Literally. The redhead's expression shifts, sobering more than a little. "Maybe this time we'll be able to kill him and have him stay dead."
- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen frowns a bit at the talking of killing but he knows there are some of the outsiders who do that." Her Hyenas they love her and she loves them."
- Hope Summers has posed:
Hope is not above killing if it means freedom for //her// mutants. She's been raised on the belief that she will have a hand in not only survival but ascension. "Hyenas?" The backpack is dropped once more and she reaches for her phone. It's quick reference before she looks at the pictures under the heading and nods. "Gotcha. Good." The words are drawn out slowly; they're not known for being 'pets'. "Wish her luck."
Yup.
"But yeah," and the phone is quickly set back into one of her many pockets that adorn her cargo pants. Like father, like daughter. "Maybe not. I'd rather not pull more people into what could be our personal little war." The smile that rises isn't one that remotely echoes humor. "It'll be okay, though."
- Conner Kent has posed:
It is not almost noon, so why does Conner look like he just wake up? Well, because he did. He got back from the Arctic just six hours ago, after a pretty heavy info dumb. And it is a Saturday, don't judge!
"Hey who is... Hope!" He smiles at seeing the redhead for the first time in a year on a half. "You look... good," he comments awkwardly. Oh, and Bart is here too. "Bart, you brought food? Thanks man. No one does groceries anymore."
- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen nods his head, and sees Conner and will make a second sandwich and a soda without asking and sets a plate down for Conner "Well, I figured if I am going to help eat them, I should make sure they get replaced." To Hope he says "They came from when she was working with joker, since they are known as laughing hyenas."
- Hope Summers has posed:
Saturday? Sunday? Who knows what day it is? Year, even? Hope lives day by day, month by month, season by season. Right now, the season is 'getting cool', so that means changing of leaves on trees and crisp air. Nice when there's a warm place to go, hell when life is on the streets.
The familiar sound of Conner's voice brings a smile back to the young woman's face, and she half-waves, her own gesture a little awkward, "Hey, sleepy head." The tones are warm, and she looks down at her outfit. Short sleeved shirt, cargo pants, boots. She's not a fashionista like some others that belong to this time. And there hasn't been time, recently, to even consider it. Thus is the life of someone always on the move.
"Thanks. You're looking pretty okay yourself. Been a little." There's a pause before, "All good?"
- Conner Kent has posed:
Conner is wearing a black t-shirt with a big red S, and jeans. No surprise there. And he is barefoot because he is home, or something close enough. He does look tired, though.
He smirks at Bart, because it is true he tends to empty the fridge within hours. But he is getting a soda can out of it before he has a chance.
And then turns to Hope. "Oh, mostly fine. Well, there is a space monster coming to destroy the Earth, but I talked to Kal... to Superman, just yesterday. Pretty much every powerhouse on Earth is aware of it and working on the prolem."
- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks over and says "Yea, I am waiting to see what they need us to do. I would say Hope and I are proof we win, but those things get all confusing to be honest." He admit. He does poor some cat food and is off for a moment, feeding the animals in the roost, back a moment later.
- Hope Summers has posed:
"Dad's stuff is a little jacked up, or we'd be in space helping," Hope virtually murmurs. She'd heard something about it, but the more imminent danger was Stryfe and his wiping them out and subjugating all mutant-kind for his own purposes. "But right now, we kinda have our hands full with mutant stuff." When exactly doesn't she? The thought isn't lost on her, and she chuckles a little self-consciously, "Like usual."
The redhead shifts her position and hefts her backpack out of the way of traffic; she looks as if she'll be at the roost at least overnight. A place to lay her head. "I'd like to think that," Hope offers to Bart's retreating back, "But I can still die here and the timelines get all wobbly-like. That's more a 'not me' sort of concept." Even if she is from a different world, a different timeline.. "Dad knows more." As does Bishop.
Guh.. Bishop.
- Conner Kent has posed:
Conner looks to the redhead and he has to bite his tongue not to say 'as usual' to Hope. It wouldn't be fair. Life is not fair, but he can be fair to his friends, right? Also, Bart is right. "Good point, Bart. No one is eating Earth or you wouldn't be here." Logic!
Wait, does logic work with time travel? Timelines can get wobbly-like. Things he hear that he can't unhear! "Yeah, I am going to stay here for a bit instead of New York, closer to the... well, emergency call chance. If they need me."
- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen nods his head a bit to this and says "Well, I will make sure, I keep groceries here, anything you need me to bring down for you?" He offers. Yea Impulse likes being helpful.
- Hope Summers has posed:
See Conner, didn't even have to say it. She did! Hope is very aware of //some// things she does, she says, but ultimately, she does it all with purpose. For a purpose. For her purpose.
Hope doesn't have to be a telepath, however, to know when something is on the tip of Conner's tongue, and she grins in silent accord. It's fleeting, there and gone, but was there all the same.
"I'm not sure if that applies. The 'alive in this timeline' and 'dead in another'. Just means, well..." Hope can absolutely go toe to toe with other fatalists! "But, if I go out, I'd rather go out fighting .." and she pauses, frowning, and is silent for a few heartbeats. "I need to call dad."
Hope's hand dips into one of her many pockets to pull out her phone once more. "I'm sorry. I just had a thought." And to act upon that thought? She pulls her backpack up and onto a single shoulder, bounces once for it to settle somewhat comfortably, "Back soon, and steps out into the next room.
- Conner Kent has posed:
"I should do that, Bart, have you seen Tim?" Conner glances at Hope and nods. "You staying for lunch?" But she is gone. And it really doesn't matter. He is not sure if he is staying for lunch and he should start making phone calls too. "I might have something for you soon," he tells Bart. "I ran into trouble with some folks I am pretty sure work for the Gamorran government. They really hate reporters there."
