Cast of Characters: Kara Danvers, Thor

Kara Danvers has posed:
It hadn't been much trouble hurling Thor back through space. Even without super strength, the lack of gravity made it simple. Even the descent to Earth had been easier when she (thankfully) discovered that Asgardians were durable enough to plunge through the atmosphere without burning to a cinder. High above the clouds Supergirl had renewed her grasp and descended towards the glittering lights of the Eastern Seaboard. Finally, she'd landed on the roof of the Avengers Mansion and set the God of Thunder down at her feet.

She pauses for a moment, looking from side to side with a furrowed brow.

"I had hoped the other Avengers might be here," she tells the unconscious man with a sigh, "I do not ... hm."

She gently tries to nudge one broad shoulder with the tip of her red boot, frowning. After a moment she takes a deep breath, breathing air several dozen degrees below freezing in his face. After that, she balls her fists up at her sides and prepares to shout 'wake up' ...

Thor has posed:
The blazing hurtle through the atmosphere perhaps wasn't enough, no awareness returned for that time even as they settled upon the rooftop of that mansion in New York. The security systems recognized him, and somewhat her in his presence. An alarm did go out, considering the status triggered when the sensors detect that Thor was unconscious considering what would be needed to require him to be so.
Then the chill breath didn't seem to stir him at first. But when she seems about set to give a super powered shout to try and rend him from his revery, she'll likely see him stir then as he roughly swallows, gulping a loud breath of air and then his brow lifting up as blackened carbon seems to crackle off his skin and fall around him like a small flurry of ash.
"Damnation," He says with a cough, blue eyes flickering open as he shakes his head quickly, one hand pulling free of his hammer to smack rough onto the roof beside him trying to push himself up. "What?"
    "Where am I?"
Then his eyes find hers and the Asgardian slash chimney-sweep blinks a few times up at her and he murmurs, "Lady Kara?"
Another pause then he adds, "Did we win?"

Kara Danvers has posed:
"No, we - I mean, maybe ... but no. At least, not yet."

Supergirl spares a glance upwards towards the sky, as though she could somehow peer through the vault of heaven and see the battle. Indeed, she can see far but even Kryptonian vision has its limit. She frowns, brow creasing as she turns to look back down at Thor.

"Are you okay? You got blown up!"

She crouched down alongside him, pressing the back of her hand against his forehead like a fussing mother might check for fever. Staring intently at him, as though any injuries would yield themselves up if she stares hard enough.

"Should I call one of the Avengers? Captain America? The very small one with the clothes?"

Thor has posed:
When her gaze drifts his turns as well though he no doubt cannot see even a fraction as far as her. He looks up toward the heavens, then shakes his head and murmurs, "The battle still rages?"
And slooowly he turns over, letting Mjolnir fall from his hands as he winces. The broken skin on his arms, the twisted scorch marks, and now the clearly red and angry hands all seem to make him wince as he pushes himself to his feet roughly, his tattered and ragged cape breaks off into pieces as small clumps of blackened burgundy fabric fall to that rooftop.
"I will be better." He tries to dust off his hands and grimaces as he squeezes his palms into fists, then releases.
"Come, let us return to the aid of your family." He straightens up and tries to take a deep breath, chest expanding then contracting as he lets it go.

Kara Danvers has posed:
"No, no, no," Kara chides, reaching up to place a hand on his shoulder with enough strength behind it that one might think she was a frost giant instead of a teenage girl, "You need to heal or recharge or whatever it is gods of thunder do. That is most important."

"My cousin is trying to give us enough time to get ready here," she explains, "Which means he does not think they will be able to hold them whether we were there or not. We need to get whoever we can and get them ready for when the War World arrives."

"And you need to be ready for when they get here!" She jabs him in the chest with a finger, immediately coloring pink beneath her eyes as she does it and folding her hands behind her back reproachfully.

Thor has posed:
    "Bah,"
Said succinctly and condemningly so, as if her entire argument could be dismissed with that single word though he does seem to waver on his feet when she presses a strong hand to his shoulder. "Just give me a moment." And, to his credit, he tries to draw himself together, to focus as he shakes his head and brings his blistered and angry red hands to try and /slap/ himself in the face. Once. Twice.
Shaking his head he looks to her, however, as she starts to explain matters. "They'll be coming here?" Fuzzy-headed, perhaps he forgot that part, but she speaks sense. Or perhaps he's just easily swayed with the blaze and fuzziness in his head.
A nod is given, slow at first, but then growing faster. "Aye, of course. Of course, you're right. We must make ready."
But then Thor turns his head to give her /such/ a hurt look as she pokes him with that finger. Almost as if she had just booted a puppy through the goalposts as he mouths the word, 'ow' at her. Again he shakes his head. "You're right."
Then he looks to her, "And you? Are you well? Are you injured?"

Kara Danvers has posed:
"I am closer to the sun now," Kara answers, gesturing skyward with a wave of her hand, "I feel better already. It takes a lot to keep me down. War World will not know what hit it. Once my cousin and my ... and Power Girl get here? They will tear it apart with all our help."

Despite the gravity of the situation, Supergirl seems quite convinced in her cousin's ability. Ever a cheerleader of Superman and the good he does for the planet, even during those strange months of her costume career where most of the world though the Man of Steel was dead.

"I am right," she nods authoritatively, taking a few steps away to avoid anymore overenthusiastic pokes and clasping her hands in front of her, "That man who was there ... he is very dangerous. We will need everything we can muster to stop him."

Thor has posed:
Nodding again as she turns to step away, Thor watches her with that controlled calm way about him, though she can still likely hear the slight shuffling of his steps, the way he shifts his weight from one foot to the other, the crackling of his skin as he heals though it takes him time. Perhaps too much time.
He frowns as he takes a deep breath and murmurs in reply, "Then I will stand with you and yours against this menace, I have made an oath to the people of Midgard. I shall keep it even should it cost me my life."
That said he turns to her, and gives a soulful nod as well as a warm smile. "Thank you, Lady Kara. For recovering me. I am in your debt." Once those words leave him he lowers his head slowly, a form of a bow. Then straightening. He leans over to the side and picks up Mjolnir gingerly by the strap and starts to turn away to the door that leads inwards into the mansion proper from that rooftop.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Supergirl does her best to look stoic and heroic. She really does. The battle was fought by some of the greatest heroes Earth has ever known, and she stood amongst them without skipping a beat. It's easy to forget that her own range of experiences amounts to a handful of months and watching a lot of Superman footage on YouTube.

When the bow is given and the thanks bestowed, Kara's eyes widen a little. Her hands continue to wring in front of her, blue eyes widening. Then, completely against her own volition, her face breaks out into a broad grin which itself turns into something like a nervous giggle. After a few seconds she regains herself, appearing for a second mortified and then once more plastering a disingenuous grin on her face.

"Oh! Ha ha! Oh - um! Do not - ha! Do not mention it! Oh, I have to go, I will - ha ha! Ha! Uh ... bye!"

There's a rush of air and a blur of blue and red, then she's gone.
