Synopsis: Kaminari comes to the Parker home for dinner, dessert, and her membership in a very small club.
Cast of Characters: Peter Parker, Kaminari

Peter Parker has posed:
Aunt May hummed to herself. Really, Peter met such INTERESTING people these days. An Amazon princess. A tech magnate. Wakandan royalty.

And leave us not forget, a rock musician.
She didn't understand today's music. She liked the music from her younger days. Jefferson Airplane. Led Zeppelin. Bob Dylan. The Mamas and the Papas. The Beach Boys. Peter had collected all the music he could find that she liked and put it on her nifty little player.

Well, tonight someone from a more modern era was coming by. Peter was giving her something "to help with her work." He was such a helpful young man.

Aunt May opened the oven, took it its contents, and smiled as she sniffed. Ah yes...this was going to be HER gift to the charming young woman.

Kaminari has posed:
Outside, right on time, the familiar black sedan with tinted windows that Kaminari uses when she doesn't want to be noticed for who she is pulls up and from the back emerges a familiar white haired figure in a baseball cap and dark sunglasses who makes a quick dash for Peter's front door while the car speeds away again. She may not be an Amazon Princess or Wakandan Royalty, but she is a Goddess and in the modern era a Goddess of Rock.

Kaminari glances both ways up and down Peter's street making sure she is in the clear and nobody is giving her /entirely suspicious/ performance any extra attention as she rings the doorbell eager to get off the street.

Peter Parker has posed:
Aunt May opens the front door a few seconds later, smiling as she lets Kaminari in. "So good to see you again, young lady." She smiles broadly, both ancient and ageless in her own way. "Head on down to the lab. Peter is waiting for you. Dinner this evening will be beef stir fry, with spinach, bean sprouts, water chestnuts, broccoli, carrots and celery in a rather tasty ginger sauce."

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari flits inside when the door is opened like a sudden breeze blowing past. Off come the sunglasses and the baseball cap revealing her long flowing mane of white hair. "Thank you very much for having. That sounds delicious. I will look forward to it." she smiles at Aunt May before waving and heading down to Peter's lab. Modern human food has become one of her favorite offerings and that apple pie which she can already smell among the top tier.

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter is, as usual, working on something in the lab. Everything he has created as Spider-Man was made down here, and he doesn't seem to be slowing down.

A small box sits on the large flat table in the center of the lab, the table's surface illuminated from below. There are a few items spread on the table -- notes, artifacts, books, and a photo of a scrap of text, the notes underneath reading HYBORIAN ERA SCROLL - KULAN GATH REFERENCE.

Peter looks up and grins that sheepish grin of his as Kaminari descends into the lab. "Kami! So glad you could make it. Aunt May and I always look forward to your visits."

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari is in the process of pulling her long white hair back into a ponytail with an elastic band to keep it out of her face as she comes down the stairs into Peter's lab. "You've been busy." she comments admiring the small collection of Kulan Gath artifacts. Peter is greeted with a wan smile when he looks up, "I do enjoy coming here. It is nice to get away every so often to something simpler and quieter than the typical routine that international celebrity demands."

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter nods. "Well, I have a double treat for you, then. But it's both a treat and a responsibility, so I have to ask. Some things just...well, I'm sure you know the importance of verbally committing to something."

He takes a breath. "Are you willing to accept both the gift and the responsibility of what I wish to give you?"

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari just sort of peers at Peter, not being used to him speaking in riddles, "What are you talking about Peter?" she has an expression like she's anticipating she might want a stiff drink to go with whatever he is about to say. "Why don't you start by telling me what this gift is and about this responsibility that apparently comes with it." she seems a little wary of the responsibility part, it is not the strongest suit of fickle deities.

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter nods, walking over to the table. "I figured that you might not like some surprises. So, I'll go ahead and show you."

He opens the box, laying the items out on the illuminated table. A thin black choker. A pair of thin gloves with gold squares on the pads. A set of Bluetooth earbuds. A small case that looks like a case for holding a set of contact lenses, only larger, and with a USB cable attached to it.

"The Spider-Comm system. I'd like you to wear everything in this rig, and then we can configure it to work with you."

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari's eyes do light up a bit at the sight of the tech, it is a known fact to Peter that she does love innovative uses of human technology. She walks over to the box on the table examining each of the components, "Oh this is lovely, are you trying to butter me up for something Peter?" her wan smile has become a small grin as she begins donning the various pieces of tech eager to see what they can do.

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter chuckles. "This is part of the system we use to communicate with each other. Voice, text, and an augmented-reality setup. We also have a private database that we use to collect data on your friends and enemies."

He picks up a tablet as she aplies the contact lenses, which are very comfortable. "Okay. I'm going to run a few tests, then have you secure it so only you can use it."

He taps something on the tablet, and a text box appears in the upper left. <SPIDER-COMM: Configure> Then it goes away and a larger one appears in front of her vision, translucent so as not to block her vision.

<PLEASE SAY ALOUD: "Hello. My name is Kaminari. My voice is my passport. Admit me.">

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari nods along with Peter's explanation of the tech, "The miniturization really is remarkable, even compared to the bleeding edge super weapons of when I was still doing electrical engineering. Granted that was around eighty years ago. The last century has seen such leaps and bounds with what humanity can do..." she trails off and nods in afirmation when it is time conduct the test.

"Hello. My name is Kaminari. My voice is my passport. Admit me." she seems like she wants to add more at the end, probably something like 'or face my wrath' but she is able to restrain herself and refrains.

Peter Parker has posed:
There is a quiet beep in Kami's ears, and Peter taps a few more buttons. The text box goes away, and other boxes appear around the periphery of her vision. She soon realizes that looking at any particular option brings up the option to activate it, with buttons titled COMMS, DATABASE, TEXT, INTERNET...

"Raise your hands up in front of you," Peter says with a wry smile.

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari oohs and ahs as the various boxes appear. She got the latest StarkTech phone for attending Tony's birthday extravaganza but this is even cooler, wearable tech.

She again complies with Peter's request, not quite sure of the purpose she looks around curiously as she raises her hands in front of her.

Peter Parker has posed:
As Kami's hands rise, she finds that a computer keyboard appears at the bottom of her vision. With experimentation, she finds she can type on the "keyboard," as well as tap various "buttons" on the display. Tapping INTERNET brings up a web page, on the right side of her vision, but she finds she can move it to fill her vision, minimize it, and interact with it similar to a touch screen.

Kaminari has posed:
"Oh this is positively brilliant," she must be excited to be defaulting back to the more British English she first learned back in the Meiji era for a moment rather than the American English more prevalent in modern Japan and the crass rock and roll slang that normally invades her vocabulary. But it only lasts a moment, "I love it, your technical skills are amazing Peter, you could probably start your own engineering firm with tech like this."

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter sighed. "Yeah...if I wasn't worried about blowing my cover. But I did get an offer from a company, and if nothing else, the income will pay for college."

He does smile a bit. Giving an innocent pleasure to a goddess has to count for something, his own beliefs notwithstanding.

"Now, the COMMS button has a switch to turn sub-vocalization off and on. Basically, you can send audio and text messages without actually speaking aloud. There'll be a button marked SUBVOC under COMMS. Try it."

Kaminari has posed:
"Oh well that is good news at least, I hope they treat you well and pay you what you're worth. Or that they have plenty of lightning rods and insurance if they don't." ...did Kaminari just threaten to destroy a corporate headquarters if people aren't nice to Peter? It sure sounded that way. Every so often one is reminded in small ways that the gods really don't quite share human morality.

She seems quite amused when he starts describing the sub-vocalization feature, "That's really interesting, though I can do that even without the tech. Goddess of Thunder and Noise, remember that second part? You'd be amazed what I can do with sound." she winks. But all the same she does try it to humor Peter. 'Like this?' comes across loud and clear from a sub-vocalization.

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter nods. "Although I don't see you as the sneak-and-scout kind of goddess, there are times when communicating without letting anyone KNOW you are communicating can come in handy. Now, this also allows you to access our database, which means you can run a search on any subject and it will bring up what we have on it."

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari nods in agreement with this, "I do like to make an entrance, it's true. Subtlety is not my strongest suit though I have been known to use a bit of mist and fog when the situation calls for it. Even if it isn't as fun as blasting things with bolts of lightning." Yes, fun. She tosses a few experimental searches at the database seeing what it has to say about /herself/ if perhaps Peter wasn't quick enough to delete something embarassing and then another search to see what it has to say about Kulan Gath.

Peter Parker has posed:
There is a listing for Kaminari, but it only lists her as an associate of Spider-Man, and provides a link to her web page. There is an image of a lock, but clicking it gives a simple message: "Contact Spider-Man for further information."

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari seems just as amused or perhaps just satisfied that anything potentially incriminating about her is locked away from general access. "With gifts like this Peter, I may very well wind up smiting your enemies with divine wrath for you afterall." It is /really/ hard to know if she is kidding or not when she says things like that.

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter looks at her for a moment. He knows she can do it. He's seen her at work, and it is frightening at times.

"Just...save it for the ones who really need that SMITE to happen. Like Kulan Gath, if we actually FIND the guy. He's like an itch I can't scratch. And I know he's a burr under Red Sonja's scale-mail bikini, as well..."

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari smiles, "He'll come out eventually, they always do in the end. Especially when you deprive them of their favorite minions and we'll make him regret it when he does. I can't very well overlook such a wonderful gift afterall. Speaking of wonderful things, that apple pie is smelling /amazing/."

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter chuckles. "Yes, but the dinner is smelling pretty good, as well. And dessert always comes after dinner." He taps the box, then says, "If you have other gloves that are more comfortable for using this, I can help install the sensors in them. But might as well pack them up. Shouldn't wear gloves to dinner."

As he helps pack up the rig, he looks to Kami. "Kami, are you happy doing what you do?"

Kaminari has posed:
Kaminari removes the gloves and nods to Peter, "That's literally what I do Peter, whatever makes me happy, whatever I want. That's what gods do. Admittedly it has gotten harder in the last century since mortals managed to create weapons that can injure us." she gives a light shrug, "Don't worry I love making my beautiful noise for my adoring fans enough that I'm generally willing to abide by human laws in order to keep doing it." Generally.

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter nods. "Well...I don't know anything about how deities live, but I do know that creation is better than destruction. Any idiot can destroy something. But to create takes skill, drive, and heart."

Peter hands the box to Kaminari, then smiles wryly to her. "Hungry?"

Kaminari has posed:
"I do create things Peter, I create the most beautiful storms and also music." Kaminari laughs, "Anyway let's go eat that food. I do enjoy eating, especially your aunt's delicious cooking."
