Hello!
Date of Scene: 24 September 2020
Location: the high seas
Synopsis: Diana and Namor meet in a dramatic scenario! There's lightning, there's fire, there's drunk people on a boat! It's a great time, the CGI was fantastic too. :P
Cast of Characters: Namor, Diana Prince

Namor has posed:
One can't be blamed for going on a cruise at the end of the summer when they're probably cheaper than normal. But now is a rather awful time of the year for more reasons than anyone could have predicted.

The most pertinent reason for the people on this cruise, though, is that a lot of out of season storms have started up, entirely throwing forecasts into complete disarray.

This is no small ship, but the violent waves are tossing it in every which direction, while lightning occasionally slams right into it.

The crew has sent distress calls, but not many people can actually reach them in this chaos.

The crew tries to put the few fires out that have started, while people have been told to stay in their rooms with how violently the ship keeps moving in these massive waves.

Namor is on his way, swimming through the water at a blistering speed that would shred the flesh from a normal man. But he's still not there quite yet.

Diana Prince has posed:
The Invisible Jet, as it was lovingly named by the media, had been on patrol in this region of the oceans due to the storm activity, and the reports of ships in this area that could fall prey to the terrible weather systems here-in.

The cruise ship has done just that, and Diana is arriving now to provide assistance. The Jet, powered by alien technology, takes the shape of what Diana wills it to... generally this is a large multi-person transport shaped like a large arrowhead, but here and now?

As Diana arrives, the jet becomes VERY VISIBLE, and it glides in to position beside the cruise ship. Being able to defy Earth's winds and gravitational pulls, the alien vehicle just sits perfectly still alongside the Cruise ship.

Diana, in full armor, lunges out from her rescue vehicle, and lands on the deck of the cruise ship. In full armor, her hair flowing around her otherwise bare shoulders, she sets out for the crew of the ship to tell them she has arrived (though they've likely noticed by now).

Namor has posed:
"It's Wonder Woman!" a few people, including members of the crew, start to exclaim or whisper among themselves.

One of the emergency staff runs up to her and starts pointing around. "We have at least four fires, and we're having trouble keeping the ship level!"

That's when suddenly Namor rises from the water, floating above her alien jet to survey the situation. Water doesn't have time to really drip from him, given all the rain adding additional drip.

"Princess Diana." he says with some respect, more respect than he'd normally address anyone from the surface, that much would be clear from seeing him in literally any news report.

He raises the golden Trident of Neptune, then stares up in confusion. "I can't seem to stop the storm. There's something unnatural about it." But then he points the trident down at the ocean, and the ship at least starts to not sway quite as much. "I'll try to control the waves while you put fires out."

Finally lowering himself to the ship, he seems intent on following her to make sure that the ship is most under control where she's moving. "King Namor, Emperor of the Deep, Lord of the Seven Seas, etc."

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana is greeting the crew that rush to meet her, when Namor arrives. It's quite a sigh to behold not one, but two, very famous names amongst the super powered community of Earth's population, and the people of this cruise might be comforted to see their timeline arrival no less.

"Your Majesty." Diana replies to Namor. "It is good to see you." She admints, her voice carrying over the chaos of what's happening all around them. At his summary of this being a strange, and unusual type of weather pattern, Diana grimaces for a mere moment as she looks from aft to fore.

"I take it this is a first? Or at least a rarity, then?" She asks of him.

As he speaks of the fires needing to be put out, Diana nods hre head and starts to the front of the large cruise ship where a fire had started to claim the top deck. She moves quickly, and with the ship's firefighters behind her, Diana starts to clear a pathway of debris for the Firecrews to get their gear ready... the cruise ship having several trained emergency responders, they just weren't ready for this particular storm as it came quite suddenly.

Diana rips up some of the less important parts of the ship that are burning, and tosses them in to the sea, to make them unable to spread the blaze, while the crew uses their extinguishing hoses to work on what remains!

Namor has posed:
"I suspect that it's yet another clue to something we're dealing with in Atlantis, that's spilling over into the surface. There should be nothing that can so easily stop me from controlling a sea storm. This kind of magic is something almost divine, incidental, from something so powerful it probably doesn't even realize it's creating storms." Namor states rather ominously, before another lightning bolt cracks down from the sky, and the king moves his trident so quickly that he re-directs it to himself, harmlessly dismissing the energy.

"I don't suspect that what's causing it is actually here, but I'm going to try and get the ship out of the storm, since I can't stop it."

"This isn't how I imagined us spending time together, when I first heard of you." he admits, holding his trident with both hands and concentrating quite hard. It's difficult when the waves barely want to obey him right now, but he is attempting to move the entire ship with the water under it.

"I imagined..." he visibly strains, and probably annoyed that he even //has// to strain. "Extravagant meals, a remote island, discussing the frustrations of a world that doesn't seem to understand the political sovereignty of kingdoms that still have gods that care. Probably wine."

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana's sword and shield remain on her back, as there's no visible attacking threat that would warrant such a response. Her dark hair has grown soaked with the rain water, and ocean splashes, laying flat down her back behind her shoulders now.

She tosses more of the lightning engulfed debris into the ocean before she turns to where Namor is deflecting a bolt of the angry energy from the sky. "You are describing something that sounds dangerously close to the Gods that I am all too familiar with." She glances to the sky, then back to Namora.

At his descriptions of how he'd imagined a meeting between the two of them, she shows a very momentary smirk as she steps toward him. "Those settings all sound like ways I have met other people. This comes across, as far more... unique?" She makes light of the situation, tries to give it its own special appeal, because that is just like her to do such a thing.

"Besides." Diana glances back toward the rest of the ship as crewmen continue to rush to help, able to better do-so now that Diana and Namor have arrived. "What more heroic way could our first meeting be, than this?" She asks, looking back to him.

"My jet stands ready, to take on passengers, if this ship becomes unstable through this furious weather." She offers a reminder to the King, incase this is too great a challenge for him.

Namor has posed:
"That won't be necessary. There won't be a display of failure in front of one of the few members of surface royalty who I actually respect." Namor suddenly begins to float above the ship, though still speaks in a manner that she can hear.

"You truly have a heart similar to an Atlantean. Excuse the possible offense, I thought you'd be impressed by the mundane."

He holds his trident up at the sky, then yells at the top of his lungs as if calling out to the power of the gods themselves. The ship is a bit rocky, but the waves start to push it in a significantly faster path forward. He doesn't stop the storm, but as the ship moves further and faster away from it, things gradually begin to calm down, though not quite there.

When he floats back down to the ship, he offers his hand to her. "I apologize, I didn't realize the proper way to conduct myself in front of the Princess of Themyscira. Only displays of godly might from now on."

Diana Prince has posed:
Throughout it all, the Visible Jet rides right along side the cruise liner, moving like a stalwart of a safety raft, should the need come to require it...

Diana remains not far from Namor as the two converse, though her eyes are back upon the rest of the ship, watching it from the front, to the aft, trying to make sure she keeps her eyes on all angles of it, though she does glance back to Namor and show him small expressions of amusement at some of the things he says.

"You need not worry about impressing me, King Namor." She says of him. "I am but a single person, here to do the very same job you are... though I would have struggled a bit more than you, at this particular task." She looks back then and nods to the people lining up to watch, who've ignored the requests to stay in their cabins... tough at least they're staying back off of the main decks.

"Those are the ones you are here to impress. By ensuring their safety. Of which, you are doing a very good job of." The Princess says back to the man, after his mighty shout and display of raw power.

Diana's eyes glance left, then right, then back to Namor. "If this is not a storm built out of malice, but errant magic... I am not sure if that is a thing to celebrate, or hold dire concern over. We must find the answers though."

Namor has posed:
"An entire Atlantean kingdom was recently destroyed, the kingdom of Xebel. I believe that all of this may be related. The old gods of the sea are rarely something to celebrate, if that ends up being our concern. I do hope for something far less dramatic." Namor lands not far from her, now that the ship is in a far more managable portion of the storm.

He waves his trident to splash water where he can on a few fires, since the sea is being a little more agreeable in letting him actually do that. But as the situation starts to calm a bit, he mostly begins to stare at the sky, as if trying to find something.

"I am a king, Princess Diana. These people are in my kingdom. I do not normally care for boats, but as this storm is the product of my own unsolved problem, I owe these people at least some courtesy while they're in my home, even if they are invaders." He isn't one to mince words about how he feels about surface people's boats.

"You are a humble woman, truly selfless and altruistic. I've heard many things about you, but I find it rare that one from the surface with so much power truly seems as if they can carry that power with grace and honor." He places a hand on his abdomen and offers her a polite bow, a rarity for him. "It is an honor to save these bored, drunk people with you."

Diana Prince has posed:
The initial words from Namor cause Diana to purse her lips in troubled inner thoughts. Gods, angry at the territories of Atlantis? Enough to wipe one out? "Whomever would do such a thing, rest assured that I offer you my sword, to bring them to justice. I have fought Gods before, they do not frighten me." Diana watches as the water is brought on board over the guard rails. She watches the fire safety crewmen stumble backward out of the way and just as one is about to stumble toward that very same guard rail, she snaps her hand down to her lasso!

The Lasso of Hestia comes to life in her grasp, swirling around Diana's body as she lashes out with the golden glowing robe, snaring the man in the safety gear! The rope circles his body several times in a matter of a split second, allowing Diana to pull him back and keep him from going over the edge!

Other crewmen rush to stablize him as well, as the Lasso sweeps off of the man's body now.

Diana pulls the rope back to herself, letting it twirl around her right forearm. She watches a moment longer before she looks back to Namor.

"These people, are unaware of your Kingdom, your Majesty. I assure you, they do not willfully set upon these waters to trespass, or anger you. " She shows him a soft smile then. "You are doing a noble thing here today. One that will make them all think of you in high regard, drunk or otherwise."

Namor has posed:
"I'm well aware of the unawareness of surface people. To avoid civil war with certain members of my kingdom, I've agreed to learn to be more... forgiving of these people. As long as they aren't doing harm to my home." Namor lets out a long sigh as he stares out over the water, many heavy things clearly behind his eyes.

"I'm a very long-lived man, Princess. I'm not sure if you're the same, but I've given these people so many chances, and it's as if they never remember the lessons that they learn." he explains, motioning at people who seem to be going about their business as things gradually calm more and more.

Then, looking over at her, there's at least something soft behind his stern tone. "I've heard enough of your people to know that you must understand what I mean. And your willingness to help them as much as you do, to be their hero, it makes me wonder if you've learned something that I haven't. Some wisdom that's eluded me all of these decades. And that wisdom, compassion, and honor, is why I can so easily recognize you as something other than human."

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana gives a glance to the sky as she notes him doing so, the rain not as strowg as it was, which allows her dark hair to blow off to the side in the wind coming off the fore of the vessel. She turns to face him more openly now.

"Human beings are creatures of great hatred, and great love. In my experience, the better their experiences with love are, the better their hearts become. If they /feel/ kindness, experience it, and savor in its warm embrace, then they are far more likely to share it with others. So yes, that is what I have learned, in my time. That the better people enjoy life, the better life is for everyone else around them. But love is the key, it is always the key, to unlocking the highest potentiality of Humanity's greatness."

She shows a faint smile then to him.

"And... I am, aged." She hints at her many years. "One hundred years now, amongst the world of mankind. Prior to that well? Let us say it was a lot of training, over a healthy span." She's playing coy about her age, and the slight grin to her lips, and the tone laced in to her accented English gives tell of it.

Another look is sent to her left, toward the crew of the ship keeping the passengers off of the battered and burnt main deck. She looks back to Namor then, her hair whipping in the wind behind her head. "You must keep the Justice League informed about this. So that we might help you, your Majesty."

Namor has posed:
"Arthur said the same. But I suppose since it's you suggesting it, I'll actually consider it." Namor offers his partially armored hand to her. "I suppose we're similarly long lived. All the more reason we really should have extravagant food on an island."

"As the King of Atlantis, I experience the cruelty and carelessness of humanity every day. Even when there's good among them, others try to drag those good people down with them. But you've lived far more adult years among them than I have." he admits, showing some humility for once.

"I feel somewhat out of my element, your reputation was something to behold, but I didn't expect to meet someone I might actually consider an equal." He smiles over at her, then further confesses, "I am not a humble king, nor do I generally expect someone's presence to humble me."

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana's right hand, wrapped in a leather half-glove, goes to rest on her hip, the lasso still wrapped around her forearm, over the shining bracer of submission worn on that wrist. She cracks a slanted grin at the comment about Arthur... thinking about the face he would likely have made if he had been here to hear such a thing.

But she lets the grin slip away, and then affords Namor a single dip of her slim pointed chin in a simple nod. "The fight against the anger and hatred that sweeps the hearts of men, is an ever pressing war front. But it is one that can be pushed back, if we... keep trying. It is our duty to do just so--" She pauses then. "Or at least, it is mine."

Another glance is given toward the crew and passengers, before Diana looks back to Namor. "When there is peace, then we will talk of islands and feasts upon them. Those things being something, I am personally familiar with, after all." Another momentary grin is shown to the King.

"I should go and speak with the Captain, as well as the Passengers of the vessel. I will tell them of your heroic deeds here, and how you brought this ship back from the brink." Diana moves to turn from the King then, but once more gives him a faint smile before she does so.
