Cast of Characters: Kassandra Pagonis, Paige Guthrie, Warren Worthington

Kassandra Pagonis has posed:
Lunchtime is often one of the happiest times in the day for people. An excuse to sit back and turn your brain off while shoveling some kind of food into their system before getting on with their day. Down in the infirmary a scrubs-clad Kassandra is up and out of bed, exploring the space as best she can without getting her IV tangled or leaving the room. Not that she hasn't tried, of course, but with the whole 'security' thing that was going on down here, she thought it best to not explore too terribly much without persmission.

The room has been adjusted slightly, with the bed and table pushed towards the far wall, the TV mounted high on the wall playing some stream of EDM that came with the cable package that the school has, making a fairly large open space and, in that space, Kassandra is actually jogging from wall to wall. Four quick strides, a twist, four quick strides, a twist...over and over again. She's been in bed too long, it seems, and needs to move!

Paige Guthrie has posed:
The doors swish open to reveal a blonde girl about her age, dressed in a pair of jeans and a red and white checkered flannel over a white t-shirt. Paige is carrying a tray with her. Lunch. It's a potpie, a sealed bottle of orange juice and some type of pudding cup for a dessert. "Howdy!" She calls out to the girl, watching her jog back and forth.

"Ah'm Paige and ah'm here ta' bring you yer' lunch. Looks like you're all riled up. You run outta stations on the TV to watch?" She asks as she puts the tray down next to her bed.

Kassandra Pagonis has posed:
Kassandra is in mid stride when the door opens, taking the two steps to spin and stopping her run for a little while, breathing a little heavier. Yeah, shower will probably be necessary at some point in the future. She leans over, hands on knees, and then sits up, taking in a /big/ breath as she straightens, wiping her hair out of her face as she does so, a quirk of a smile appearing after a moment. "Never thought hearin' a southern accent'd make me feel welcome." She says, padding over in bare feet to where Paige stands, reaching over to snag the tray and roll it along with her as she goes to stand opposite the other woman. "Good t' meet'cha, Paige. I'm Kassandra and...yeah. Once you get past the infomercials, the news, the reruns of Law and Order on TNT, and the new episode of the Price is Right, it's all pretty much the same s'far as things go. So I thought I'd....kick it up a notch. Bam." Yeah, Food TV. Deal with it.

Paige Guthrie has posed:
"Ah'm from Kentucky, originally. Ah' started coming ta' Xavier's about two years ago." Paige says with a smile as she blows some hair away from her face. "Ah' heard you had quite ah' journey ta' get here. But, you're in the safest place us mutants can be in." She says as she offers up a bright smile to her.

"Sorry to hear you ran outta TV. You want me to getcha an iPad so you can mess around on th' Internet? It's monitored by th' way. Has anyone told you where you're at and why it's important we keep it secret?"

Kassandra Pagonis has posed:
On the floor between Kassandra and Paige is a yellow strip of tape that, were her bed in the right place, would be about fifteen feet, give or take. All of the monitoring devices are outside that strip of tape too, so whatever Kassandra can do, there's a range to it. "Really?" Kassandra sounds surprised at that, straightening. "I didn't know folk were aware of me even bein' down here." The food is taken from the tray and sniffed. "Ain't bad this cookin', but get me a smoker and a brisket and about twelve hours and I'll make you somethin' you ain't never tasted better."

Glancing up at the TV, Kassandra can only shrug. "Nah, not a problem. Ain't your place to keep me entertained. I mean, compared to where i was before, havin' something to do that ain't invovlin' my powers is kind of relaxin. And..." she takes a sip of her orange juice. "Nah, no-one's really told me where I am but ah'm guessin' it's somewhere safe for mutants that ain't exactly broadcast 'round the world."

Paige Guthrie has posed:
"You are at Xavier's School for the Gifted. Otherwise known as .. mutant school, in New York. We're all mutants here, just like you, living normal lives, going to classes, learning how ta' control our abilities better, playing soccer and getting ready for school dances. It's just a safe place for us to go to school and not worry 'bout the outside world hatin' on us." Paige flops down into a chair, sinking down as she folds one leg over the other. "So, what's your story? Ah' heard from th' mission logs that you were kidnapped and being experimented on ta' make some kinda drugs. That's .. pretty shitty. But, before alla' that .. what was your life like?"

Kassandra Pagonis has posed:
One of the chairs - the one that Paige hasn't claimed - is dragged over, the table lowered so Kassandra can sit and start tucking into her meal. She's skinny due the malnutrition, but the food here, even being cafeteria food, is helping her gain a little weight in the good way. She takes the information of her location silently, nodding, stabbing the top of the pot pie with her fork and prying open the crust to reveal...turkey. Not bad. Probably a million calories of fat, but that's what her body craves right now. "Where were you guys my sophomore year?" she asks a bit snidely, letting out a breath and shaking her head. "Sorry...sorry."

she takes a breath and settles back in her chair, eating and telling her tale. "Before here? Before the whole experimentation thing and the drugs and all that, I was just a normal kid in Texas, y'know? School dances, datin', pasture parties, all that sort of thing. Like real genuine redneck stuff, y'know?" she smiles a little, taking a little breath. "Then one night we had a party and someone handed me a drinkin' helmet, wantin' me to take a slug like the rest of 'em..." She takes a bite. "Turns out the helmet was from World War II, and my mutation shows the past. So...imagine suddenly, in the middle of a party, you're dropped right in the middle of stormin' the beaches during D-day an' you get an idea of what happened. Turns out that ain't good for a gal's social standing, as you might guess."

Paige Guthrie has posed:
"Huh. So your powers allow you to .. visually take you into the past of an object that you touch? Wonder if they got a fancy name for it. Usually it's precognition if you can see the future. But th' past? Past-Cognition maybe? Ah'm sure Doct McCoy has a fancy title for it. That sounds pretty cool though. So, what happened next? How did you get kidnapped and brought all th' way over to New York?"

Paige furrows her brows in thought. "What 'bout family situation? You got parents that are freakin' out about you? Cousins? Siblings? Anyone that would wanna know you're missin'?"

Kassandra Pagonis has posed:
"Basically, yeah. You hand me something and I can get images from it and project it to everyone around in a circle. Sight and sound and touch and everything. Make a winter's day feel like summer if I get the right memory going." Kassandra takes another bite or two, demolishing the pot pie with each scoop. "Doctor McCoy is doing research on it now, I think. I don't know if there's anyone that can do what I do in the way I do it, so hopefully he can help me figure something out to keep it from happening when I fall asleep. Thus the yellow line." She indicates the line with her fork.

"So...starting from the party, which was chalked up to someone dumping a hallucenogen in the punch, some folks who thought folks like me weren't right to be in our small town. STarted threatening, started doing things to drive me and my family out, and eventually burned our barn down. So...We left. I went one way, they went the other." Her fork is placed down on the plate, Kassandra pulling her knees to her chest. "it was the safest way for my family. I mean, they nearly beat daddy to death afore the sheriff got there, an' when there weren't no witnesses we kind of knew there wasn't anything to be done...so I packed up and left b'fore they even knew I was gone. Kept in cntact with my cell phone before getting picked up and dragged to New york....ah'd say it's been about two months since that happened?"

Paige Guthrie has posed:
"Ah' hear you. Mah' entire family is full of mutants. My big brother is here also, Sam. We had our share of neighborly issues as well. Still do. After Pa died from working th' mines, Ma had to pick up all th' slack. We got bullied a whole lot after it came out a bunch of us was mutants. So, ah' can relate. Kentucky is probably just as bad as Texas when it comes to the whole love and acceptance thing."

She leans back into the chair, rubbing her neck in thought. "You can call your parents and let 'em know you're okay when we clear you. If you decide ta' stay, you can go to school here with us. We don't turn away mutants and it's really, really chill here. Here you can just be a normal kid and then go to college if you want."

Kassandra Pagonis has posed:
"Oh, Sam. Met him last night. he brought me Salsbury steak for dinner. Was pretty good, too." Kassandra says, settling back in her seat as a connection, a small one, is made. But school? Like real school? Kassandra sniffles at that, nodding. "If...if ya'll will let me, sure, i'd love to join in. I've only gotten up to a sophomore high school level before they kicked me out for safety reasons, so...finishing? That'd be awesome." She looks at her hands. "Maybe i'll figure out how to make my powers work a little better in the meantime so I don't need to sleep in a room alone with a clearly marked limit to my abilities."

Paige Guthrie has posed:
"Of course. We have students from all walks of life here. Lot of us are in our age range. I'm a Senior, gonna be graduating this year and then .. off ta' college. Ah'm gonna do one of the local ones here and focus on computer engineering. Ah' know they can get your grades from th' last school and transfer 'em over. If they give us any trouble, they'll handle it. We got our ways." Paige says with a smile, then glances around. "Oh. You got any clothes? Ah' can get you some if you need any. We got ah' locker room full ah' donated clothes from students past and waht not. Lots of it is trendy too."

As she takes her phone out, she taps away at the glass, humming to herself. "Anything you need, we'll make sure you get it. Easy peasy. They'll just want to make sure that you're okay, that whatever they was doing to you is flushed out and you're healthy, but they're th' best here."

Kassandra Pagonis has posed:
Looking down at herself in the loaned clothes with all sorts of Xavier's School logos on them, probably gym wear from the looks of it, Kassandra can only nod. "Well, my bag and my guitar were taken from me somewhere outside of Memphis so what you see on me right now is pretty much all I have. I do remember my social security number so that might help a little in some things, and can tell you my county of birth for birth certificates and all that sort of thing. The school..." She trails off, shrugging. "I don't rightly know what they'll do. Maybe they'll give up the information, maybe they'll say no student with that name has ever attended, but I hope that isn't the case. I'm sure they'll be glad to be rid of me, just like the whole town was."

Paige Guthrie has posed:
"Trust me, we got our ways." Paige says with a giggle as she sways back and forth in her chair. "Trust me, there is very little we can't get ahold of if we wanted ta'. You're sitting in the middle of mutant mecha. We have some of the most powerful and greatest minds working here, for us. Our kind." She continues to take notes on her phone.

*Clothes.
*School Transcripts.
*Talk with Faculty.

"So, whatcha into when you're not being kidnapped by weirdos? Ah' like ta' ride horses, um.. ah' work out .. like ah' lot. Ah' do computer programming."

Kassandra Pagonis has posed:
Kassandra is sitting in a chair with the remnants of lunch on a tray in front of her. She's conversing with Paige about some seemingly mundane things which, for Kassandra, is quite refreshing to just talk about normal things. "Well...um...I play guitar. Acoustic and electric if I can find one. I like to cook and believe it or not...MMA." She makes fists from her sitting position, throws a couple of snappy little jabs. "Oh, and speak different languages. Right now I can get Greek and English pretty well, spanish mostly vocally, but if I actually took the time, I coudl write it."

Warren Worthington has posed:
Warren wanders into the med-lab, "Hank, have you seen..." he starts before noticing that big, blue, and furry isn't in the med-lab at all causing him to pause mid-sentence. Warren is dressed relatively comfortable for him, which means a lack of suit and tie, his normal office outfit having been traded in for a white cotton shirt, the back modified for the large angel-like wings that give the billionaire his 'name', and a pair of faded jeans that look like they may have seen a wash or two to many.

"Oh, sorry. I was looking for Henry, didn't mean to interrupt. Hey, Paige."

He glances at Kassandra, and lifts a hand in greeting. "Hey there. Warren Worthington," he introduces himself as he strides forward with a hand extended in greeting. Not everyone knows who he is. Some people actually do live under rocks.

Paige Guthrie has posed:
"Ah also like ta' do MMA! It's one of the electives you can take here. Ah' take it every semester. Maybe we can do some sparrin' at some point." Paige says with a grin to her. "Ah'm always lookin' for some fun and extra practice. You'd probably pick it up again real fast. They teach us ah' number of different arts."

Glancing over towards Warren, her smile brightens at the sight of the winged angel. "Hi there. This is Kassandra, th' girl that Mister Summers and Doctor McCoy brought back from th' city. We're just chillin' and talking about life. Ya'know, boring stuff."

Kassandra Pagonis has posed:
Or Texas. Some parts might as well be considered under a rock if you're not in the right sort of company or, in Kassandra's case, have a slight extra mutation on one of her chromosomes that allows things to happen. "Dr. McCoy's in one of the labs doing tests on my blood." Kassandra holds up her left arm, a little bandaid right on the brachal artery in the crook of her elbow. "Something about categorizing me properly, I think he said. I was kind of out of it at the time." She reaches over to shake the offered hand, the girl having some strength in her, surprisingly. "Nice to meet you...um...sir."

Kassandra glances to Paige with a grin. "Boring is good sometimes, though."

Warren Worthington has posed:
Nodding, Warren winces at the 'sir', "Warren is fine. Sir make me feel like I am my father, and I don't want to feel like that...pretty much ever. Nice grip," he comments as he flexes his hand after the shake. "I like boring stuff just as much as the next guy. Sometimes boring is good."

Warren makes his way over to a small fridge in the lab next to the big fridge that holds a the cold storage and produces a bottle of water from it. "I think I heard something about Scott and Hank bringing someone back, but I must admit I think I skimmed over the details. My apologies for that."

Paige Guthrie has posed:
"It's ahl'right. Ah' did all th' research for you." Paige says with a teasing grin to Warren. Of course she would. Obsessive little brown noser. "Was ah' nice little mission involving a major drug bust along with some new street heroes that have popped up. Cloak and Dagger. Th' Internet claims they'e apart of this group called th' Defenders now. Sorta like th' Avengers but .. with a diffrent name."

"Maybe we can getcha outta here today and into a proper room so you feel a bit more normal. Then we can go clothes shopping." She pauses. "Mister Worthington, how would you like ta' sponsor ah' new girl shopping spree?"

Kassandra Pagonis has posed:
Kassandra just sits and listens at the teasing back and forth between the winged man and the girl sitting in the chair just opposite her. She does perk up at the thought of a shopping trip to get clothes that a) fit and b) are hers, along with the requisite underwear, soap, and the like, to make a girl feel a little more girly. Being on the streets for as long as she had been, things like that were kind of a memory.

Warren Worthington has posed:
Warren arches a brow at Paige, a little snort escaping his mouth as his lips twitches up into a half-smile. He fold his arms over his chest chucking as he responds, "What, do I look like I am made of money, Ms. Guthrie?"

Warren opens the water and takes a sip, "So, why am I feeling magnanimous today? Why don't I just pay off your mom's mortgage while I am at it? Oh, wait...I already did. Tell Sam happy birthday."

Paige Guthrie has posed:
"Wait, you did?" Paige says with a sputter as her eyes widen towards Warren. "No you didn't. Don't you be lyin'." She says as she straightens up a bit more. She looks over to Kassandra, then looks back to Warren. "But, you really are kinda made of money." She says with a grin on her face. "And she has /no/ clothes! Ah' can get her clothes from th' donation bin but it's not really th' same thing. That and she'll need underwear and .. uh.. deodorant." Her lips curve upwards, fluttering her blue eyes at him.

Kassandra Pagonis has posed:
"not no clothes. I've got some on. Borrowed, but I'm not naked entirely." Give the girl a little dignity, Paige, although the thought of a shopping spree paid for by a guy who can casually pay off a mortgage is something that she never thought possible. So many dresses and jeans and boots and all the cool, comfortable stuff that makes a girl feel like a girl! She does look down at herself a little, though. "Not used to being and advertisement for a private school, though."

Warren Worthington has posed:
"Call your mom, see if I am lying," smirks Warren with a glint in his eye. "Your mom has enough to deal with with you and all your siblings. I figure the least I could do is purchase the mortgage from her bank, then cancel it. That should help out."

He turns his eyes over to Kassandra. "Well, far be it for me to leave someone with no clothes. I suppose I could take the pair of you out shopping, or would you rather I just hand over cash so you can go by yourselves? "

Paige Guthrie has posed:
"Well .. it's not like yah' limpin' around or anything. How 'bout if ah' bring some of mah' clothes down and you can throw 'em on, then we can go shopping?" Paige says as she hops to her feet, giving a long stretch upwards. She eyes the other woman for a moment to gauge her sizes. "Ah' think we'd .. fit in mostly the same stuff."

"Or we can just Amazon Prime some stuff and then have it shipped here. We get like next day shipping for free from everywhere because we got th' hook ups." She gives Warren an eyeing, then slips her phone out to call her mother.

"Ah'll be back with some clothes and to talk with Ma."
