Pizza is Life
Date of Scene: 10 May 2021
Location: Angelo's Pizza
Synopsis: No description
Cast of Characters: Carrie Kelley, Sara Pezzini, Achilles

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Angelo's Pizza is a nice quick place to grab a bite before going to a show, or doing whatever else one does with the rest of their night. It's kinda busy tonight. Not SUPER busy so full there's no tables, but there's a line, and standing at the end of that line is Carrie. She's wearing a hoodie with a flaming bunny skull on the back of it, and looking down at her phone, bored, flicking through pictures on it quickly.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
One thing about Sara, she's pretty simple in the things she enjoys and considers a 'date'. Sitting on the couch with Netflix, trip to the firing range, even pizza at the restaurant next door. So long as Angelo is there, it's a date. For once she is not in her usual NYPD detective approved attire. She is wearing a nice blouse of pale green, possibly even silk or an imitation of it. The sleeves are elbow length, leaving the rest of her arms bare. Covering the lower part of her body is a pair of dark green capri pants and her feet are wrapped in a pair of brown sandals. Not fancy, but not her usual either

Popping into the pizza place she looks around, not having expected it to be so crowded but then again, it really didn't matter over all. "Pizzaaaa," she chimes with a grin, looking toward Angelo as she moves to get a place for them in line.

Achilles has posed:
Some guys have a knack for making the simplest things work. Angelo makes a polo style shirt and blue jeans look like something off of the page of a fashion magazine. With the jeans being a dark navy blue color, and the shirt being black... it all works well.
He strides in after Sara and grins to the staff, "Hey guys. Been a while." he states while reaching a hand for Sara's shoulder, "Come on babe. Let's get in line." he says before moving in behind Carrie in line.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
The woman standing just in front of Angelo and Sara pauses for a moment as she hears the pair approaching, takes a step forward, and then peeks over her shoulder, eyes glancing over the two. She doesn't linger in her look. It's -- for those who are familiar with such a thing -- a very professional look. One of her hands goes to rest inside the front pocket of her hoodie, and then she's back to flicking through pictures on her phone. The line moves forward, slowly. She sighs, and then slips the phone into her other pocket, and goes to lean against the wall while she waits to get to the front.

She completely miscalculates how far she is from the wall though, and stumbles into it, landing clearly a little harder against it than she intended. She's the sort of redhead with pale skin that a trained observer will be able to see just how red her face is, by the tips of her ears turning the exact same shade.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara notices the glance, and the girls hand move, instinct kicking in she then proceeds to watch her from the corner of her eyes, while looking at Angelo. A trained way to keep an eye on someone.

When she walks into the wall however, Sara's expression goes instantly to concern. Whether that is real or not is unknown, "Oh man, you okay kid?" She asks, taking a step forward to check and make sure the girl isn't hurt.

Achilles has posed:
It's not as if Angelo is unobservant. He notices the stumble and tilts his head. But since Sara is doing the approach thing, he lets the girl power unite group do their thing while he hangs and waits. But he listens for sure. After all, he is used to watching the backs of people.
His hands go into his jeans pockets and his head slowly swivels to and fro.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
As Sara comes to her aid, Carrie, continues to blush, "No, no, it's fine. I just thought I was closer to the wall is all," she says, laughing it off, "Thank you though. Sorry, I'm not usually such a klutz..." As she straightens, she gets a better look at Angelo -- though she doesn't really look at Sara -- and her hand comes out of her pocket. It's not holding anything other than her wallet.

"Thought I had a gun?" she asks, grinning at the pair's reaction. It would seem she was watching what they were doing as much as they were watching her.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
A slight smirk lands on Sara's face, "You realize that could get you shot, right? Not really something you want to joke around with when dealing with the NYPD."

She steps back over to Angelo, slipping right up beside him. She may not have her gun, but she has her badge in back pocket because law required it always be on her person.

Achilles has posed:
Angelo does not seem to react the way some New Yorkers might. He just lifts a brow when the wallet comes out, "No." he says simply. His voice still hinted like it hast the last vestiges of an almost overcome English accent. "I think that she thought your stumble indicated that you might be super tired, -or- otherwise injured."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley hms quietly, "Didn't figure you two for NYPD. Thought spooks. Too fit to be eating donuts all day," she says. She then pirouettes around to make her order -- a water, and a order of garlic knots -- before she turns back to Sara and says, "You could try to be trusting," she offers.

At Angelo's words she shrugs a little, "Perhaps, which, thank you for checking, but, clearly you thought something was up. Else you wouldn't have reacted that way."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara stares at the girl in disbelief. "Yes, I thought you had a gun, but when you ran into the wall I thought you hurt yourself. Christ, teach me to give a damn about someone." She snorts, then rolls her eyes. "New York Detective, Sara Pezzini to be exact, and trust is earned. You thought we were spooks, I thought you were going to try and rob the place. We're even."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"Was I that obvious?" Carrie asks casually. She hmmms, "I need to work on that then. I figured you were watching me to make sure I don't gun you and your friend down. Not casing the place." She pays for her food, and then says to the cashier, "Hers too," with a nod to Sara. It seems she's not very bothered by Sara's disbelief or apparent distaste for her actions thus far. "And, the boyfriend, if he ever returns."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Angelo's phone rang, so he stepped outside to deal with it.

Sara continues to watch the girl, even as she offers to pay for her slices and coke. "You were obvious to someone who knows what to watch for. I'll bet no one else really paid attention to your actions or movements. Primary reason I didn't think you were after Angelo and I, you were already here when we came in. The way you looked around, casing the place, keeping track of people's locations, including the two new people who entered. Why would need to work on that? You often test people's reaction at possible risk to yourself?"

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"I need to get into practice to rob a place." Carrie replies, just as casually as if she's ordering her pizza. She walks over to a table and takes a seat, "Though, before you go all law and order on me, you'll want to call Kree High Command and tell them that a human girl is looking to boost something from their facility on Azor Three. This is just practice."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
The girl probably expected Sara to be shocked, or even surprised by the way she was talking, but the detective was not. She collected her slice and Coke, and stepped over to Carrie's table, not sitting or placing anything on the table.

"Right, before we get into this, may I join you?"

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"I thought the invitation was implied by me buying you dinner. Or, is that not how it works here anymore?" Carrie asks. She doesn't appear to be surprised or put out by Sara's reaction. She's just having a conversation, one professional to another.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara sits herself down then, because implied or not, always better to ask. The pizza gets set on the table, the coke beside it. She takes a moment to collect all of her thoughts before she starts speaking.

"First off, nothing is ever implied, always better to make sure because the last thing I need is someone screaming about my sitting down.

With that out of the way, she heads right into the next topic, "I realize that you were probably expecting me to act like you were just some insane kid, talking non-sense, possibly a risk to yourself and others... but I've seen shit. People flying around in caps, aliens, Batman, this world is full of strange shit now, so the idea that you are training to steal something from someone, just another day in New York, kid. I have no idea what a Kree is or what Azor Three might be, but it sounds to me more like a heist than a robbery, in which case you are in the wrong place practicing the wrong stuff."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"That's fair." Carrie says before she pops a garlic knot into her mouth. WHICH part is fair, she doesn't clarify, before she washes it down with some water. "You should meet Batman, you'd like him. He's your type of guy," she starts, before she grins at Sara, "I'm not at the wrong place, practicing the wrong stuff. I wanted to see if I had a tell that professionals would pick up on. I do." She holds up her hand and adds, "No, I didn't like follow you here or anything, you two walked in behind me, got in line, I saw what you looked like off a the mirror behind the counter and decided to give it a shot."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara takes a bite of her pizza while the girl talks, trying not to smirk while she's chewing. A drink of coke follows.

"Everyone has a tell to a trained eye," she offers with a slight shrug. "I've been Batman at work, seen a few of the others out there at work. The museum opening was one, saw the Hulk, Mister Fantastic, Iron Man. I was working security for the city, their all impressive, but they have something we don't kid, powers and gadgets. If you ask me, you might want to reconsider stealing from something called the Kree, at least, not alone."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
^^"Batman doesn't have powers, I don't think." Carrie says, eyes shifting away for a moment or two. "Gadgets, sure, he's got a few, but it's not like that's what makes things work I don't think. I've been doing this long enough to know it's planning, and meticulous training, and more planning and more training." She pops another garlic knot into her mouth, chewing it for a few moments as she considers Sara, "So. Other than the NYPD, what is it you're into? Not many detectives have that kind of superhero resume unless they're hunting them for autographs, or involved in their work somehow."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara laughs, waving the kid off on that. "I come across them in my work kid. I'm a cop, protect and serve, you know? I'm out there every day trying to catch the bad guys, and at times I cross their paths, or they cross mine."

Taking another bite of her pizza, she sits back to chew as she watches the girl. "I prefer non-vigilante type heroes, but I'll be honest that Batman does more good than bad, so I support his endeavors. If he came to New York, I'd help him out any way I could... of the books of course."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
^At the 'gee just doing my job' bit that Sara gives her, Carrie laughs, and says, "Look, I've been doing this for...a long time now. I can't say I've ever seen the same detective more than twice. The NYPD has what...five thousand detectives in the Detective Bureau? Maybe, maybe you see, what Tony Stark and Hulk and Fantastic at an event, but not in the numbers you're implying unless something else is up."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara takes a drink of her Coke, completely blank expression on her face. "I told you I've seen them flying around. Most days in the City, you can look up and see one of them flying by. I listed the ones I saw at a specific event, that's it. That's the only super hero activity I've seen. And if you parted ways, then you're talking about robbing something alone, and that will get you killed, so the best of luck on that, just don't do it in New York."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"Who'd be dumb enough to try and steal anything in New York City, with so many superheroes flying about?" Carrie asks, a slow smile crossing over her features.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara smirks, "You'd be surprised. They can't see everywhere while flying around, now can they? Besides, they are usually on their way some place to deal with something way worse then a cat-burglar."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"Isn't that their thing though? Some of them CAN see through everything. X-Ray vision or something?" Carrie asks, smirking a bit, "Almost makes you wonder why they keep the NYPD around in the first place if they're so omnipotent they can see anything, or hear anything you say."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara lifts one brow slightly, "Do you seriously think that Superman has the time to be chasing down every murderer in New York? Do you think any of the heroes have that kind of time? That's why the NYPD is still around, because although there are numerous super powered bad guys out there, there are still just as many pieces of shit normal people too. Besides, this is /our/ world. We can't ask them to use their gifts just for us, all the time. We have to stand up and do our part as well... which leads me back to you stealing this item. Why do you want it?"

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"Three hundred murders in the last year in NYC? Less than one a day? Yeah, I think Superman can clear his schedule to stop a bullet now and again." Carrie replies, before she shakes her head at that question, "You're not paying me well enough for that answer, unfortunately." She smiles and then stands up from the table, taking her water with her, "But, now, off to go do the night's work. Just not in the city, right?" she asks, smirking just a little bit.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara smirks and nods, "Not in the City. Take of yourself kid, look me up some time if you need advise or help."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
^"Only if I can blow up another one of your date nights." Carrie says, before she pushes her rump against the door and pivots out.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara laughs with a nod to the girl, approving of a blwon up date night, then goes back to eating her pizza and waiting for Angelo to finish his business.
