Synopsis: Elektra is brooding after a meeting with her inner ghosts and Selene breaks the ice with ancient wine and a good talk.
Cast of Characters: Elektra Natchios, Selene Corvinus

Elektra Natchios has posed:
Earlier today Elektra had received a 'visit'. Not the usual kind, for she can usually deal with assassins bursting through windows, or trying to catch her when asleep. Landlords can be a touch more difficult, namely because she can't *kill* those.

No, in this case it had been a visit that had made her question her own sanity, watching someone that had died years ago, talking to him and being answered in kind. Perhaps she was finally flipping, but it had felt too real. Remnants of that talk still linger in the penthouse, an oppressive feeling in the house, almost as if it was answering to it's owner and her mood. On a corner there's a broken glass, the contents of it spilled on the ground. She hasn't bothered cleaning it up yet which might be a first considering how perfectionist Elektra can be sometimes.

Instead she is sitting on the sofa, dressed with a robe and with another glass in hand, whiskey. Dark eyes are out in the night sky outside her window, lost in her own thoughts.

Selene Corvinus has posed:
Selene was busy most nights, there was no way around it. Her responsibilities to her Coven were extensive. But some nights she was managing to set aside to spend time with Elektra and this was one of those nights.

she'd texted her a bit ago to say she was on her way and would be there shortly. Such is the now as the door to the apartment penthouse opens up and the Vampire strides in. Wearing a short black leather jacket over a crimson red tanktop and a pair of black denim jeans, the tall slender woman strides inside, carrying a bottle of wine that /looks old/ just by its label in her hand.

She is soon to spot Elektra and she shows a wide smile. "Hey." She says in her soft voice. But a moment later she sees the shards of glass and she looks from that to Ele, "What's wrong now?" She asks, as their lives are rarely dull!

Elektra Natchios has posed:
Elektra normally didn't take time to answer Selene's texts. But this time? It hadn't even been read. She *was* home though. But a quick look about and the phone can be seen discarded over at a table, most likely untouched for a while now. She stirs from her reverie when she hears Selene's voice, dragging those dark eyes from the window to look at her vampire lover. For a moment her expression seems neutral, almost as if she was *elsewhere*, or deep in thought.

"Selene." She finally speaks up, the name anchoring her to this reality, away from other thoughts, "I ..."

There's a pause then, the assassin looking out into the night again before taking a long drink from her glass, "I just had a discussion with a dead man. I wonder if I am going mad.." her free hand reaches up to rub at her temples.

Selene Corvinus has posed:
Selene steps over to where the glass was broken and she goes about gathering up the shards to put in to the waste bin. She hears the others words from the place she's seated and it makes a soft grin appear on Selene's lips as she looks over to her.

"Technically you're having a discussion with a dead person right now." She tells her, trying to lighten the mood a bit in the room.

Once the glass is cleaned up, without fear of cutting herself, Selene reaches for a pair of new glasses and walks toward Ele with the bottle of wine. She's soon to sit on the coffee table in front of the woman in the black robe and stares at her.

"Tell me about it, before you go fully mad and all I can do is wipe your drool from your pretty face." A bit more teasing, because its fun!

Elektra Natchios has posed:
The teasing response has Elektra lift a brow. For a moment it seems as if she will 'bite' in response but the lines of her face ease up a touch, "It's not the same." but then she hmphs, the ghost of a smile curling on the side of her lips and she shaking her head back at Selene. If anything the vampire seems to have a way of having her not dwell on darker thoughts.

She watches Selene move back and forth with cleaning up the glass shards, sitting up on the couch when she finally comes with a pair of glasses and that bottle. She notices it for the first time. "Seems like you read my mind." alcohol. The best thing to forget about a discussion with the dead!

"I don't think I'd last long enough to go mad, considering our line of work." There Elektra goes being fatalistic. But a bit more than normal tonight. She leans over to take the wine bottle, looking at the label and then popping it open, busy with serving a glass for Selene and then one for herself, silent while doing so. Perhaps organizing her own thoughts.

Eventually she does speak up, "I was .., it felt like a discussion with myself. Remembering ancient lessons. Lessons that came with the face of my foster father." she shakes her head abit, "It felt .., weird.. It knew too much about me, so much.." jaw tightens after she speaks those words. If anything she does seem affected by it still, the explanation a jumble of thoughts instead of a fully coherent thing.

Selene Corvinus has posed:
Selene holds her sly grin at the woman in front of her then as they get themselves both a glass of the dark red wine. "Yes, well, I've had this for some time." She says after the mind reading claim is made. "I had it sent over from back home, I thought I'd finally open it up, with you." She smiles then beofre raising the glass up to her lips to sip it.

She puts her eyes are Ele's and listens to her start to explain what occured. After hearing the bit said, she tilts her head toward the other woman. "Was this a dream?" She asks then before looking toward the lavish kitchen where the glass had been broken. "I thought someone had stopped by and been a thoroughly unenjoyable guest..."

Her eyes go back then to Elektra's own. "You don't mean an actual ghost, right? Because when you invited me to stay here, you said nothing about ghosts..." She shows a slight grin again before she takes another sip of the wine still slightly cool even from wherever she had it stored.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
It's always relative when Selene says 'some time', so Elektra casts a look down at the wine, taking a sniff at it. She is sort of a connoisseur afterall! A little stir of it between fingertips before she takes a sip, "It's good." she then finally says, unable to help herself but finally smile more open when Selene speaks of wanting to open it with her. She leans forward on her seat, fingertips reaching to brush on Selene's cheek before she places a brief kiss on the side of the woman's mouth. Perhaps in thanks of being there with her.

The question about it having been a dream has Elektra raise her shoulders. "I do not know." she admits. "Which is why I am not sure what's going on with me. This ..., search for Black Sky. It's getting to me." a pause, "And the problem of it all is that I feel *I* am the one they are after. I won't become a pawn again though.."

"I'd die before allowing that to happen." She looks down at her hands.

Those last words though? They bring her back from those thoughts to comment, "I didn't know you were afraid of ghosts.." is she smirking?

Selene Corvinus has posed:
"It's older than this country, so I should hope it is." Selene quietly replies about the wine before she grins again. When the kiss comes she's there to lean forward and return one of her own, raising her free hand up to touch the side of Elektra's arm, to rub it through the robe she's wearing.

When they part again she lays her hand across her lap as she takes another sip of the wine and listens as yet more is said. At the end, about the ghost, Selene laughs softly as she stands and sweeps her backside around so that she can sit beside Elektra's place o nthe sofa. She sits good and close to the other woman, turning to face her as best as she can while still holding the glass in her right hand.

"I've met a number of spirits in my time, both in the homeland and here in the States. I came across a rather particularly nasty haunted home in Gotham one night last fall. Spirits come in a wide range of types, some far worse than others..." She smiles and trails her thoughts off there.

Her brown eyes are on Elektra's and she uses her left hand to push some of Elektra's dark hair out of her face. "What makes them pursue you so badly? Is it something you know? Or something more... lineage oriented? Your blood, as tasty as it is, I can't say I'd blame them if it is that..." More joking accompanying her grin again.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
"Flexing your european heritage now, are you?" Elektra replies when Selene speaks of the wine being older than the country they are in now. It amuses her, along with the comforting touches coming from the other woman. She has been too used to being alone for too long. To have someone there for her? It feels ..., good. When Selene sits next to her on the couch she turns sideways so she can look at Selene as well, one hand resting on her thigh in that manner of someone who is comfortable with Selene's proximity.

"I am unsure. For all I say of knowing all that's going on there's still much I am .., unaware of." Which appears to be a matter of frustration to Elektra. She does like to be in the know about *everything*. "But it's involved in mysticism, that much I *do* know. There was a time when the Hand was a group mostly composed of mystical ninjas, not the riff-raff criminals you see around most of the time. Or those like Han, who were businessmen playing at being ninjas.." she shakes her head a touch.

"I have been convincing myself that I want to stop them from acquiring that weapon but sometimes I feel .., I may just want to win. And it scares me what I will do if I do win." her hand reaching to rest upon Selene's as it's brushing hair out of her face.

"I am not a good person, Selene."

Selene Corvinus has posed:
What she says is quietly listened to, Selene's gaze on the other woman's face. She smiles when the hand stops her own she smiles more openly to the other. "Good is an option we choose based on what our goals and motivations are. I'm 'good' to my people, or at least I would claim to be. You would be just as good if you were in my situation, if not better. Are you good to every random stranger you meet out on the streets? Perhaps not. But when did any of us sign a contract saying we had to be?"

She takes Elektra's hand and lowers it down to rest both of theirs on the other's lap. "Han failed. I imagine others have failed before I was here to witness it. So they want you badly, and can't have you. You're mine, so they'll have to accept that." She grins again to the other woman.

"I'm sorry you had this... dream, or whatever it was. The stress upon you because of all of this is... frustrating. I'd like to help reduce some of it, be it killing another horrible monster like Han, or... I dunno. Taking you to a day spa, that is open at night. Are there Night Spas?" She asks, grinning playfully again.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
"Who even are my people though?" Elektra then wonders, the hand around Selene's squeezing it and she slowly shaking her head, "The other Defenders? They barely trust me." with good reason if one is to be honest. She looks down at her lap when Selene brings their hands there, silent for a few moments but those words Selene says next jolt her back to action, eyes up on the woman's, "I am yours, is it?"

She leans forward then, again kissing Selene but this time for longer, her touch lingering, savoring the other woman for a few moments before finally whispering, "Maybe I will to start slow and have you be my people." she suggests. Curling up she settles in to relax against the other woman, enjoying the proximity.

"If there are no night spas we can break into one and use it." She suggests. Because it worked real well last few times they went out at night!

Selene Corvinus has posed:
The kiss is shared and lingered for as long as they're able to before they part again and she keesp their faces close to one another. She grins to the other before leaning back on the sofa to let Elektra lean down and against her. "The Defenders accept you, whether they do it with complete trust or not. That acceptance... is a good start, one you should take value you, in my opinion. You've lived a challenging life, as much as this lavish penthouse apartment might otherwise suggest." She teases again with her left arm going around behind the other's shoulders.

The NIght Spa comment has her grinning and even laughing softly again, something she doesn't do a whole lot of unless spending time with Elektra in a nice light hearted moment like this. "I'm sure a crime spree is the very last thing we should start, even if its more than a little tempting..." She responds to that idea.

With a smile on her lips, Selene les it fade some as she does speak up more. "Was there any fallout from what happened to Han and his people? I've been expecting... some kind of retribution for my part in it. As I imagine my name is out there on some lists now, where it was not before..."
