Synopsis: Mystique and Blink inform Erik of the arrival of the Shi'ar
Cast of Characters: Erik Lensherr, Clarice Ferguson, Raven Darkholme

Erik Lensherr has posed:
Magneto looks over as Mystique and Blink come up to the entrance to the Inner Sanctum, then gestures, causing the thick metal of the wall to open, letting them enter. He is, as often is the case, seated in the chair in the center of the command center. He turns and nods to them and asks, "How can I help you today? Do we have any disasters I don't know about going on?"

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
"Well, presumably you know about the alien invasion," Clarice remarks as she steps into the Inner Sanctum in Mystique's company, adding a nod of greeting as she approaches. "Well. ...apparently it's the X-Men's fault. In a way, though I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate that, umm, characterization. The X-Men had a visitor today - a woman named Lilandra, a Princess of the Shi'ar Empire, it seems? Her brother is here seeking the 'Phoenix' to use its power to open a crystal, which he seems to believe will give him the power to conquer the universe. Sooo..." Well. That was the gist of it, anyways. She watches both Mystique and Magneto curiously for their reactions - especially as she mentions the 'Phoenix' - curious to see if they already knew about the thing.

Raven Darkholme has posed:
Mystique is in this room quite regularly, but for once the report wasn't her's to give. She listens to Clarice explain the reason for the alien invasion and for some reason, not even one she knows, it just plain doesn't surprise her.

"Their here for the Phoenix?" She looks to Erik, letting him speak further on that.

Erik Lensherr has posed:
Erik shakes his head, "As if it's that easy. Does he think it's something he can just pick up and use? It's current wielder might have something to say about it." And I personally have a problem with anyone conquering the Universe. I don't care to bend my knee to some puffed up alien overlord. I dare say his ships are made of some sort of metal, so if he'd like to try it, I will have quite a bit to say about it."

Looking around the control room, it's obvious that all the defensive systems are armed and manned at this time. "Blink, since you are a part of the school, I need you to find out everything you can about these Shi'ar and report to me. Unlike on Genosha, this time we have forewarning of a possible attack, it seems."

"Mystique, I need you to pull every combat capable member of the Brotherhood up here. I want to be able to drop as much force as possible anywhere on the planet as quickly as we can."

Raven Darkholme has posed:
Mystique nods once, then walks over to one of the panels and starts entering a command. "I had already recalled the inactive fighters," she states, looking over the information on the screen. "Recalling all active fighters now. It might take a couple a few hours, they were in deep undercover work that no longer matters, fucking..." she goes off to muttering here about X-Men and other things.

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
"I will try to, sir," Clarice agrees. "If what I gathered is correct - there are two separate potential hosts to this 'Phoenix' - Jean Grey, and Rachel Summers, but that neither are currently the host? The Justice League are currently in peace talks with an Ambassador from the Shi'ar Empire. It was implied we might be able to send someone to these talks," she offers. "But otherwise - I already said the Brotherhood would happily act in defense of the planet, and our assistance is welcomed."

Erik Lensherr has posed:
"Good. Because, of course, we will. I may have given up the dream of conquering the planet for mutants, but by no means do I intend to let anyone else conquer it. I will have our people standing by in the landing bay during the conference so that if anything goes wrong you can simply open the normal portal to the landing bay and you'll have fighters coming through right away."

Looking to Mystique, he adds, "Of course, I'd like you to be there, and take Blink as well, that way you have either a fast escape or a way to get our troops to your side. We can hope this goes well, but I'm more of a pessimist than that. I have to imagine something will go wrong."

Raven Darkholme has posed:
Finishing up the commands to send out, Mystique closes out console then walks back over to Clarice.

"Of course I'll make myself available for these talks," she offers to Erik, already wondering just how well she'll do in a room full of the Justice league. "But we already know how this is going to end.... we come in peace, shoot to kill, shoot to kill."

She looks to Clarice, "You'll need to make sure that the Neighborhood Watch is manned by locals for this, I will also be arranging for the bunker under the Saints to open, because this is ending in invasion."

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
As Magneto casually rattles off the plan, Clarice glances down at her hand - a faint shimmer of purple energy summoned there as she briefly opens the smallest of portals, before looking back up, and simply nodding. Looking to Mystique she adds, "We should have Ritz on standby - just in case. My powers have been strengthening and returning, but- I would hate for them to fail us."
She lets out a sigh before adding, "I'll go over the schedules for the patrols and alter them - and have a meeting with my squad leaders to brief them on the changes. They'll be ready."

Erik Lensherr has posed:
Erik nods, "Good. Keep me updated with any information you get. I will keep the Asteroid on combat alert until this issue is cleared up."

Sweeping his gaze over the various monitors around the control center, he shakes his head, "It's always something. We're finally getting Genosha rebuilt, showing a positive presence in Bushwick, then this happens. Well, whatever comes along, we will handle it."

Raven Darkholme has posed:
There are a few other choice things Mystique would like to mutter about the X-Men, but there are a large number of Brotherhood she has to get back to the Asteroid now, still down one teleporter, and plans on how not to get arrested by Wonder Woman or Superman.

"I trust you Clarice," she states, offering Erik a nod before turning to head back out of the Inner Sanctum. "Besides, they'll all be on stand-by, either to get us out or get the Brotherhood in. Come on, we have work do to."

Clarice Ferguson has posed:
"We will - and hopefully the world will see us handling it," Clarice agrees - with fierce pride in her voice. Look, if they're going to go through hell? It doesn't mean they can't make it work towards their goals. "Sir," she adds in parting, nodding again to her King, before she turns to leave. Her message was delivered - and there was no need to waste his time further. She turns to follow Mystique, adding quietly, "If this stale mate can hold for a few more days... I think I'll be more myself." But will they have that time? She could only hope so.
