A Stark reminder
Date of Scene: 08 August 2021
Location: Hangar - Playground
Synopsis: Tony Stark comes bearing gifts that will help two-fold. It'll help save homes in the West from the wildfires, and help restore public trust in SHIELD. Win-win! The SHIELD/Stark Industries relationship returns.
Cast of Characters: Tony Stark, Phil Coulson

Tony Stark has posed:
The massive pair of trucks are, for the time being, unmarked and unlabeled. Sure, they /do/ have labels on them - but there are panels affixed to each to mask those big sides and their particular true identity, to keep things far more on the down-low. Just in case.

Not a secret from those who own the Playground, though: it was made abundantly clear that these were coming from Stark. He teasingly mentioned their jungle gyms needed new equipment - which was his way of implying he was indeed offering or loaning some type of gift, but was being elusive and playful in the terms of exactly what the contents /were/.

Because fun. Sometimes surprise 'gifts' are fun, and when some allowances are made, great gifts are to be had!

The pair of trucks roll in, along with the sleek black sedan behind them, that overtakes them, and decides to make a parking spot out of what is definitely NOT a parking spot near the directors' parking and cars. Stark makes his own parking spot.

Phil Coulson has posed:
There is very little that happens in the Playground that escapes Phil's notice; particularly when it comes from one Mr Anthony Stark. Many occasions he'd been sent in to be a 'minder' during the CEO's escapades, and for the most part, he'd been marginally successful.

After all, even Director Fury can't predict the man.

The trucks that roll in are obviously noted, and Phil stands on the gantry, watching as they arrive. He's dressed in suit and tie, his hands in front of him, his right hand holding his left on the side. Only Barton could beat him at this game of watching, and at the proper time, the besuited Agent turned Commander takes the steps down to greet the newly arrived with a,

"You can't park here." There's a pause before Phiil continues with a point of his right hand, "How about over there?"

Tony Stark has posed:
"Oh? Okay," Tony Stark says, entirely agreeable, flippantly. He's already halfway out of the drivers' seat, though, and doesn't slow down at all. In the same motion he flashes a smile and tosses the car keys directly at an agent that was previously an onlooker. "Go for it."

Tony beams a smile and approaches Phil directly. "We meet again. Coulson, right? I come bearing gifts. They're on loan, though. Unless you break them. Ideally you don't break them, but I'm hardly one to say such a thing with a straight face."

Tony is in sleek businesswear, and brings that commanding charisma with him with his rock-star energy. "Want to unwrap them here, or go in?"

Phil Coulson has posed:
The Agent who has the keys tossed to them actually has the reaction time to catch them. If he didn't? He'd hear about it for MONTHS because aaaaaall the other agents that are working can at the very least see the conversation, and watch the body language. As it is, it'll be a 'no stuff, there I was' at the bar for at least a couple of months.

THE Tony Stark!

Stepping back, the hand is once again cradled, left in right, and Phil's brows rise slightly in curiosity. After acknowledging that his name is, indeed, correct with a, "Yes, Commander Coulson now. How's Ms Potts?"

The mention of gifts, however, has him looking out at the trucks, their emblems hidden from view, but there really isn't any mistaking them. "Bigger than a breadbox?" Forty years ago, one would recognize that as the beginning of guessing as to what the contents might be.

"So," and he gestures with his left hand, albeit awkwardly. "I'll leave it up to you. Do I have to have a team in here to bring it onto the Bus," that lovely, not very sleek BIG BLACK aircraft that sits right in the middle of the hanger bay. With its ramp down, Tony can probably see that sweet candy-apple red 1962 Corvette.

"Or should I have hazmat come in first?" Phil says that with such a straight face, and deadpanned expression that it should be plainly obvious that he is actually kidding.

Tony Stark has posed:
"My choice is always the best route. We're going to get on great," Tony says, with what may feel like only part of his general attention. But that's just Tony's blistering multitasking: and if Coulson can roll with a lot of this eccentric display, the gifts WILL, of course, be Stark-caliber. And of a high note, if he chose to deliver it all personally.

"Half of why I'm here is to check out your secret squirrel base," Tony says, without masking any of the intent. He's curious, he came. "But let's start back here." He curls one hand and heads to the back of one of the trucks, where a driver has already climbed out and was ready to assist. He doens't have to - Tony's got mechanical control and with a few directions on his palm sized data pad, the thing opens up, and Tony stands to a side of the gangplank.

Inside is ... strange. Racks of metal things in rows. They are bigger than breadboxes, but not a ton bigger. Maybe hundreds?

One of them disengages on Tony's command, unfolds, and buzzes out. It's a drone, a flying one, with two large cannisters on the lower body, a flat upper head, and several antenna. It looks a lot like a bumblebee without wings.

"I don't expect you to get excited yet, no need to fake it," Tony smirks. And then clarifies, "I MAY have read some of your SHIELD commentary over support out west for the fires. I have recently replaced my emergency repair bot crew -- and decided to double the allocation. These are specifically set up to protect homes and control fires. But /I/ don't have the intel of where they need to be deployed, so..."

Tony makes a general gesture outwards. The robot releases a little plume of fire extinguisher-like foam, which evaporates quickly, leaving no mess. "Up to you guys to do some good with them."

Phil Coulson has posed:
The little secret squirrel base they'll be leaving soon! There is something of an energy in the hanger; aircraft maintained and shined up. More agents than usual, actually, but it's not something Tony would be 'in the loop' for.

As a result, however, there are more than a few agents that are curious, and thus, the larger than life Iron Man sans suit has a somewhat larger audience.

Coulson looks calm, non-plussed, but as they walk towards the back of the trucks, and the interior is displayed, he can't help it. His eyes widen a little, and his jaw drops slightly. He's no tech man, but this?

"I'll get you a guest pass," is stated once he has a chance to look into that back, and a drone exits upon demonstration. "That's.."

Phil is speechless, if only for the moment before, "Not sure how we can thank you, Mr Stark." There's been so much going on elsewhere in the world, that resources have been thinned out; all the more due to the HYDRA infiltration of their ranks.

"We need to get those loaded up yesterday." Phil does take the moment to look a touch dubious, however, and it most definitely shows.

"No need to downplay your abilities, Mr Stark. Some of us rely on them." Like, perhaps him.. at some point.

Soon.

Tony Stark has posed:
"Well, I was busy yesterday," Tony says cheekily, to the loading time frame that Phil had suggested would have been ideal. Still, he knows the need for it, and just nods. The drone has veered off across the hangar to inspect someone that is pushing an engine for test on the other side, fire-fighting at the ready! Tony ignores it.

"While they don't say STARK on the side, and I don't necessarily expect credit now, see if you can use them to start to improve your reputation, huh? So we can work openly again," Tony teases. The drivers of the trucks have head over to the sedan, in the meanwhile. The trucks are staying, and can be taken over by SHIELD drivers. Or unloaded. Or whatever. Tony's smiling and upbeat: he did what he wanted to do. To help out.

"Sounds like we're up to the Guest Pass part," Tony says, orienting towards Coulson with an expectant quality of a celebrity expecting to be shown the red carpet. He's similarly distracted by a few agents that are looking, with a flash of smile at them and a self-aware pose and wave due to one of them taking a 'subtle' picture.

Phil Coulson has posed:
The trucks will certainly be taken over by agents, and will be deployed before nightfall. In fact, to be sure, Phil turns to one of the gawking agents that is just this side of asking their celebrity for at least a selfie, if not an autograph of something. (An arm, maybe, so he can have it tattooed later?)

"I have no doubt," Phil agrees. "All those parties," though he hasn't actually been following Tony in the news. Too busy. It's just pure reputation at this point!

"If you'd like, we can do a little something to announce that we're working together again." As if they hadn't been? More like quiet partners, really. And this, coming to the national aid will further cement both the Agency's and Corporation's public trust. (As if Stark Industries needed tha boost? Nah.. SHIELD needs it much, much more!)

Turning his back to the bay; their people will work it out, and they'll get the trucks into the air within the next hour or so, Phil gestures towards the inner areas of the Playground. He's ready to lead the way.

"I know a few people would love to meet you."
