Cast of Characters: June Connor, Elektra Natchios

June Connor has posed:
Patience is a virtue. Seldom found in men and never in women, that's what they say at least. If June was used as the sample, then it would hold up. She's had enough waiting for the other shoe to drop, and after she's harrassed her own contacts, seduced, blackmailed, and extorted the people she could with her limited resources, she has decided that she needs to have some kind of resolution to this before she finds herself no longer breathing.

To that end, she's found Elektra's penthouse. "That bitch has a penthouse while I've been finding storage sheds to sleep in?" Elektra had offered to help her, but she was too proud at the time to take up the offer. Maybe she shouldn't have. She found the blueprints of the building, which wasn't too difficult. It's public record. If she had gone to school, she might have been able to be an architect. She draws the lines on her printout of where the structure could be different, where it would have to remain the same if it was renovated, and other such factors. She marked where the best places would be to detect intruders, knowing that Elektra surely wasn't at her current position without knowing how to booby trap a place.

"Just like a museum heist," she mutters to herself. "Only I'm not getting paid for it." She looks over her plans once more, and then makes her way out. Balcony would be the best way to enter, while difficult at such a height, was still her best option. So she went to the roof access, checking for traps that might have been set there, be fore dropping down to the balcony wearing a pair of black sweats and a black shirt. Not as fancy as her shozuko, but she didn't really have the resources for such things at the moment, and coming down dressed as a Hand shinobi probably wouldn't be advisable.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
There's something to be said about going right into the den of a reknown assassin. It's either a foolish notion or a rather brave one. Maybe both. But the world does belong to the bold. Elektra had never been the most patient of women in her youth either and while some of her impetuousness had been tempered with a keen mind she was still known for her dares. But so far there had been radio silence regarding their little scuffle with the likes of Madame Gao and the rest of the Hand.

Was it all a test?

Getting in through the roof access didn't prove itself to be that hard. Maybe a bit too easy? No automated turrets, or other traps besides a squeaking of the floorboards on the way in.

The balcony offers a view of the infinity pool not far away, wet footsteps visible nearby as if someone had been inside not that long ago. Some of the modifications that were done inside are visible too. Lots of blind spots, dark corners, all great places for someone to hide at. Besides being a fairly large penthouse, with lots of rooms.

A voice is heard. "Of all the decisions you made today, coming in here without a mask was the smartest one."

Elektra.

June Connor has posed:
"Yeah, well I didn't wanna get stabbed or shot," June answers, opening the balcony and walking in as if she owned the place. After all, Elektra already knows she's here. She tosses her old knapsack on the couch. It's worn and dirty. "I'm kinda sick of shacking up with pervs and hiding in lawn mower sheds," she says. "I've only almost gotten killed like five times in the last few weeks. But no word from the person who put me in this situation."

She glances around at the fine amenities. "Of course, if I could chill out in a fancy place like this, I'd probably not feel the need to leave either. Where the hell did you get the money for this shit?" She wanders inward, glancing down the hallway casually, looking for Elektra.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
"It can still happen." Being stabbed. Or shot. Elektra says with that matter-of-fact tone she often employs too, eventually appearing on the living room, casual, as if she had been there the whole time and June simply missed her. Such is the mastery of those that have trained a lifetime in the Hand and with a few other Masters. She is dressed with a robe, hair still damp. Most likely she was inside the pool.

"Specially if you continue to explore as if you owned the place." Clearly there are boundaries Elektra doesn't like are surpassed, an edge to her voice. She does smile though. Which is just the more scary. "I was wondering how long it'd take for you to come to this place."

She walks towards the couch, a glance to the bag, then to June, "I am an heiress. Thought you knew all about that." but she shrugs as if that wasn't important, instead saying. "And so you believe me to be in the business of taking in strays?"

June Connor has posed:
June frowns at the accusation that she's a stray, turning to face Elektra, trying not to give an impression that she didn't already know she was there. "Yeah, don't forget who made me a stray," she answers. "And I don't pretend to really know shit about you other than the fact that you've further fucked up my already fucked up life, and the Hand thinks you're some bullshit prophecy to help them...do whatever the fuck they really want in this world.

"Besides that, you said if I needed help to ask. Remember that part? Or was it just bullshit so that I'd not shoot you?" she asks. She crosses her arms over her chest. "You said you'd be in touch. You said you'd tell me about next moves? You lose my number? Cat ate your phone or some shit?" She shrugs, gesturing to Elektra as if she's in position to demand an explanation.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
"You want back in with the Hand?" A brow arches on those darker features, Elektra padding across the living room to reach a small bar, pouring some kind of dark drink to herself, "You could always go back and grovel for forgiveness with Madame Gao. I am sure she'd enjoy your attitude." yes, Madame Gao. The most traditionalist of the Hand Masters. That would go well! "As for me, I don't think that you ever belonged in that place. It's not what you are." she takes a drink from her glass and then pours another, sliding it to the edge of the table as if in offer.

"What have *you* done to find out more about the situation? Besides getting in trouble?" she turns, resting one hip against the side of the bar, "I think the question here is, are you a liability? Or are you actually going to step up and figure out this is the best that could had happened to your life?" the edge returning to her tone.

"Not that it will be easy. Because nothing of worth ever is. But be careful on how far you test my patience. Now tell me on how *you* think we'd better answer this."

Another test?

June Connor has posed:
"Well, actually I am not a worthless chunk of flesh, but thanks for insinuating that I might be after I helped save your ass," June retorts, seeming to become more frustrated on her own end. "And as such I have done things to figure out something, because I don't tend to trust people who think they are better than me to follow through on their promises." The edge from Elektra seems to sharpen the one she has.

"So here's what I know. I know that Gao is trying to rebuild the shit that somebody just ratted out to the cops. Somebody named Coleen. I'm not going to pretend you don't know whoever that is even though I haven't a clue, because I was paying attention when that brunette bitch got her tits in a snit over her dojo being burned down or something. By the way, I ran into her, I think she wants to kick your ass," she adds off handedly. "But then I can relate."

"What I also know is that she's been reaching out to some kind of 'allies' that she has to take you down. Don't know who they are, but apparently they are people who I gather may already want to kill you. I gotta say, I thought I was bad at making friends, but you take it to a whole 'nother level."

She paces a little. "So, knowing you have Gao's attention divided, your best shot-and I hate this idea by the way- is to find some of those bullshit vigilantes, superheroes, or other equally dupable self-proclaimed do gooders and see if you can get them on this. If we can find some that don't, you know, ALSO want to kill you."

Elektra Natchios has posed:
As June appears to get riled up with what Elektra says that only seems to make the assassin smile deeper. Infuriatingly so! An enigmatic little tinge to it. She takes another sip from her glass, turning fully so as to listen to what the young one has to say, "It sounds to me you like finding excuses to not trust anyone." but she leaves it at that, instead focusing on the rest.

A brow arches at the talk about JJ, "And why would Jessica be wanting to kick my ass?" she asks, gaze narrowing just so. Dangerously so maybe! "I didn't take you for the type to go cry on someone's shoulder because what bad, mean Elektra did. Ah well.." she shrugs. She would deal with -that- problem eventually.

It's what she says next. About those special 'allies' that makes her pause to consider, tapping fingertips to her chin. "Mmmm. Depending on what those allies are I may have to consult with someone." she says, "But you are correct, and it turns out I -do- have some to call upon. I am not only good at making enemies, no matter what you may believe." a smirk, "Are you saying my lovely personality isn't working on you? Such a shame.."

June Connor has posed:
"I don't need excuses not to trust people," June says, "People start at a 0 with me, and haven't really met many that raise their standing from there. And I'm hungry. I haven't eaten like, all day. You have anything to eat in this place?" Yep, she just asked that. But she did have the respect not to just immediately go to the fridge and help herself. Maybe she's not THAT foolhardy.

"I dunno what she was pissed about, I didn't even mention your name. She just suddenly looked like she figured something out and stormed off. Didn't ask, don't really care."

"So wait, you know some what, vigilantes? You don't strike me as somebody who would hang out with heroic types. But what do I know? I'm just the help, right?"

Elektra Natchios has posed:
"I haven't even gotten to a 0.5? I am hurt." No, she isn't. The drink is finished with a quick gulp and then Elektra lifts her shoulders in a shrug. "Help yourself." a vague gesture towards the kitchen. Did anyone expect Elektra to cook? Certainly not today.

"I will deal with her later." And that seems all she has to say about JJ right now. One problem at a time! She will focus on the more immediate one that is Gao and her attempts at killing her. "I may just know what those allies may be. It would make sense that she'd employ those ..., and make it seem that it wasn't her behind it. That old woman still has a keen mind apparently. Ah well.." she crosses the hallway towards another room, opening it and disappearing inside. A couple of moments later she comes back out, holding a sheathed short blade.

"Vigilantes. Heroes. You don't really know me at all, June. But you will. For the better and the worst." her tone one of promise.

"Now take this." She tosses the blade over to the other woman.

June Connor has posed:
June wanders toward the kitchen area, looking back to catch the blade in one hand. She presses her thumb up against the hilt, spotting the silver blade. "Silver?" she asks. "This for show or killing werewolves?" she asks, dragging her thumb back down on the hilt to close it again. She turns to the fridge, opening it with her free hand, and looks for something easy to eat. inside.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
"The latter." Elektra replies. And is she for real? The tone she is giving her voice appears to tell she isn't joking. Are werewolves even real?! Most likely considering the type of crazy world they live in. "It would make sense, I have had some encounters with a few as of late." not that she explains -why-.

"I am a very private person, June." She then says, "Which means that while you are staying in my house you will respect the boundaries I set and you will not go wander around rooms I deem to be off-limits. I may be very patient where it comes to certain behaviors." perhaps the rebellious, mouthy tone which June often employs? ".. but in this there are no second chances."

She paces over to join the other woman in the kitchen, still in her robe, arms folded together.

June Connor has posed:
June pulls out a pack of sandwich meat, and cheese, dropping them on the counter. She closes the door, hand remaining on it for a moment as she regards Elektra. "Okay," she says. "I can handle that. As long as there's nothing in those rooms that's gonna kill me in my sleep," she clauses, then releases the door and looks at the dagger. "Or turn me into some crazy bloodthirsty furry." She actually doesn't look remarkably shocked by the claim that it's for werewolves. Hey, this is New York City. she's seen way weirder stuff than that.

"So who are these people you think can help? Please tell me it's like Batman or Tony Stark or something."

Elektra Natchios has posed:
"Do I look the type to keep a werewolf around?" Elektra replies with an arched brow, but then she is smirking before nodding. "But good, if you understand the conditions then we are fine." she says to the other.

As for who can help? "The Defenders, of course. I am sure you must have heard of them already.. " a gesture with her hand, "Daredevil, Luke Cage.., etc." a shrug of her shoulders given. "I know them..." so casual. But clearly there's some history there with them! Not that she is sharing now.

"Make yourself comfortable, but not too much. I have places to be, we will talk later." She turns to start walking out of the kitchen.
