Moon & Moon Redux: Late Night Relaxation
Date of Scene: 09 October 2021
Location: An Small Park in Gotham
Synopsis: Lasariel and Steven meet again in a park and more exchanges about each other and the Moon are discussed. This has to be coincidence, right?
Cast of Characters: Marc Spector, Asariel

Marc Spector has posed:
It's a mild night in Gotham City that finds Steven Grant in one of the private parks not far from Sommerset. Really calling it a park is somewhat extravagant, it's more a glorified garden with only a few small birches and a number of night and day blooming flowers in raised planters.

He is dressed to the nines in a pewter suit with silver threaded pinstripes throughout. His charcoal overcoat rests open his hands stuffed into his pockets. He looks relaxed though introspective and muses softly to himself. "Maybe I should apologise? I was rather harsh on him... but he needed a slap across the face to get him moving."

Asariel has posed:
Las was prone to late nights and given she was working overtime on her newest sculpture that was going to be unveiled later in the year. Her Gotham residence isn't really far from here. Maybe it's just a coincidence. She's not dressed as finely as she was when they met on the rooftop, but the red bohemian type dress that she wears is expertly tailored to her frame and leaves her shoulders bare under the moonlight.

She was looking at her phone as she was having a text conversation with someone. Probably a friend or her bodyguard so that she could have a breather. She looks up though when she realizes that the garden is already occupied. There is a frown that tugs at her lips until she realizes that she knows that figure and there's a bit of a look around, maybe searching for tv cameras or something. She turns back and heads closer, "Steven?" she asks just in case he's got a doppelganger hanging around.

Marc Spector has posed:
Steven turns at his name being called and his own pensive expression fades, replaced with a smile. "Lasariel?" he replies. "Fancy meeting you here. Another choice encounter in a secluded garden at night. It must be fate." He approaches her casually. "What brings you out here at this hour?" he asks, looking over her outfit with obvious interest; not too forward, mind but not entirely genteel either.

Asariel has posed:
Las gives a sigh of relief at the familiar face and she raises a pale hand to give him a wave, "I'm not stalking you. I promise." she muses as she approaches. "I was taking a break for a late night snack and a walk before heading back to work on projects." she tells him. "I was going to text you to see if you wanted to do lunch tomorrow, but I can just ask you face to face." she smiles brightly at that.

She stops within arms reach of him, but doesn't invade his space more than that. "And why are you out in a secluded park in the middle of the night looking so dashing?" she asks him as she looks up to him.

Marc Spector has posed:
Steven thinks for a moment on her invitiation before nodding. "I'm not due in Cairo til even on Sunday so lunch tomorrow sounds lovely" he replies with a beaming smile. "As for here?" He looks around. "Okay, that's a two fold answer. One, I was looking for a quick exit from Bruce's party and this seemed just far away for me to escape detection. "And two..."

He pauses for a moment and the easygoing demeanor fades somewhat. "I needed to think on some things. Decisions I've made recently that aren't sitting well with me." He gestured at the trees and closed flowers. "Nature helps me think. Open air. Clear skies, well..." He looks up at the slightly overcast heavens. "Mostly clear. It all lets me put things in perspective." The playful smirk returns on his face as he looks at Lasariel. "And more than once, attractive women have come to say hello when I am in these types of places so... maybe there's some luck involved."

Asariel has posed:
Las gives a quirk of her eyebrow, "Cairo? That sounds like a lovely trip. Is it business or pleasure?" she asks him. "If that is alright to ask. Obviously I don't want to be too nosey." she adds. "We'll do lunch before you go then." she smiles to that. "Ah yes, Mister Wayne's birthday. I wasn't going to be able to handle the crowd. The Claustrophobia kicks in and I get all panicked." she frowns at that.

She listens to his explanation and there is a smile to him, "Should I get going just in case one of those attractive women stop by?" she teases him. "The moon is a help to feeling calm...at least for me." she states as she looks up to the sky.

Marc Spector has posed:
"Business, sadly" Steven replies. "A possible contract opening up for my company and I want to ensure we're not selling equipment to a terrorist cell so I am going to meet with their representatives and negotiate terms should I feel they're a good fit for our product."

"Too late for you to run now, especially when you are the attractive woman in question" he replies and mimics her gaze up at the small sliver on the right facing side of the satelite. "It does for me too. Crescents are good for introspection and mysteries, right?"

Asariel has posed:
"I hear that Cairo is beautiful. I hope that the trip goes well, even if it is going to be filled with meetings." Las states as she looks back to him. She takes a moment to take in his profile as he looks to the moon. "I'm guessing that you'll have proper protection just in case it is a terrorist cell?" she asks him.

Then she straightens a bit, squaring her shoulders, "I am like one of those girls in the horror movies, I'd try to run and get tripped up on my dress. Which is embarrassing honestly." she states as she brushes the long white locks of hair back from her shoulders. "Crescents are good for introspection and mystery, yes." she nods to him. "I'm guessing you've done your homework on the moon and it's phases then?" she asks him.

Marc Spector has posed:
Steven nods. "I will, yes. Promise. You won't have to worry about me while I'm away." He grins at her. "Unless you want to. Call every night I'm away, ensure that I haven't been whisked away by some Nile Princess." He winks at her and returns his gaze to the sky.

"A bit of a hobby actually, yes" Steven replies. "Well, started as a business activity first but grew into a hobby." He gestures at the sky. "I was designing an electronic telescope that would be powerful enough to take hi-resolution detailed images of the moon while being small enough to fit into a briefcase. Naturally I had to study up on the moon so that I would know whether or not the images were of the quality that the contract required. After I stumbled upon some of the more mystical aspects of the moon instead of the scientific I kept digging. It's amazing how much stock has been put into the folklore and myth around the moon." He pauses and looks at her. "Actually, as an artist you probably known more about it all than I do."

Asariel has posed:
Las gives a look to him again, "You know most men would think that a women calling them every night they're gone might be a tad crazy. Especially if they just met said woman." she muses to that. "But, I can make sure that you've not been whisked away by any Princesses. Or old gods." she tells him. She seems to be interested in the talk of the moon.

"I know a lot about the moon, on the mundane and the more mystical side of things." she tells him.

"I've done some paintings of the moon. A client actually asked for a series of them recently." she smiles to that. "We could discuss the moon more over lunch as well. It is one of my favorite things after all." she offers.

Marc Spector has posed:
"I would like that" Steven replies. "And... maybe I like women who might be a tad crazy?" he adds. "That reminds me. I've also done some artistic work with the moon. A private client asks for these fairly often." He reaches into his coat pocket and withdraws an object wrapped in a handkerchief. He unfolds the handkerchief to reveal a crescent shaped object.

The object shines as if made from some sort of white metal and the edges and points of the object look terribly sharp. "They're not your typical throwing stars, but they are just as effective and dangerous. Care to take a look?" He offers the object to the woman. "Laser sharpened on all edges so be careful, but... the client's a bit of an eccentric guy himself. He too has something of an obsession with the moon, although I'd call his obsession a little less than healthy."

Asariel has posed:
"I think we're all a little crazy." Las admits with a soft roll of her shoulders and a grin. There is a curious look that is given to the handkerchief as he pulls it out. No chloroform jokes, that was good!

"That is beautiful." she comments as she watches the moon glint off of the metal. She reaches out to take the offered handkerchief and look over the metal, "This is a form of art as well." she states with a smile. Honestly designing swords and blades really was an art. "An eccentric man that has an unhealthy obsession with a moon? Maybe I need to meet him." she chuckles. She looks back down to the throwing star and does what any normal person does, she pricks her fingertip on one of the points. "Alright, that is super sharp." she states in a calm tone as she offers the weapon back to him. Thankfully no blood gets on it. "So you were going to see him soon or do you just carry that around as a selling point?" she asks him.

Marc Spector has posed:
"Not everyone has a Giovanni" Steven replies, pocketing the shuriken but keeping the handkerchief out. "Here. Let me see" he asks, holding out the cloth presumably for her hand. "And I make it a point to be proficient in any device that my company makes. That is no exception." He looks a bit worried about the slight damage to the woman. "You would be surprised how many muggings that little crescent has deterred."

Asariel has posed:
Las offers over her hand, "I think it's fine. I'm just a bit of a bleeder." she chuckles to that. "I wish I didn't need Gio...but maybe someday I won't and he can go have a wife and beautiful children." she states a bit wistfully. "Umm, yeah, if you pull out throwing stars most people will assume you're highly trained or a vigilante of sorts. Like that one guy with the skull on his vest." she offers. There's no wound to speak of when the blood is wiped away.

Odd thing that.

Marc Spector has posed:
"That's true. I think he calls himself The Punisher, and from what I can tell he is very dangerous." Steven replies and then looks at the finger. He blinks. "How...? I mean..." He lifts the finger to examine it more closely. "Alright. More mysteries. First the magic trick you pulled the other night and now this. What's the trick?" He is still holding her hand. "Smoke and mirrors? Fake skin? Artistry? I've got to know."

Asariel has posed:
"Yeah I'd not want to get on his bad side." Las nods to that. She doesn't snatch her hand away from him when he starts questioning her. "It was just a bit of blood, nothing to get worked up about." she murmurs. "I'm not a stage magician or anything, Steven. I'd also have to know you're going to offer me a sharp object in order to prepare anything like that really." she points out. She doesn't have any scars, no imperfections. So that's a little weird given her work.

"The trick with the card I learned from my mother. She was good with hiding stuff. She taught me how to do it." she tells him.

Marc Spector has posed:
"That doesn't explain how you don't have a mark on you" Steven says, running a finger over where the point had cut her. His own hands are rough, a start contrast to the posh demeanour he puts off. "But... I will let you have your secrets. I suppose we all have some, right?" He grins as he releases her hand. "It just adds to the allure of you in the end." He stuffs the handkerchief in the pocket, making sure to casually wrap the shuriken with the cloth. "Any place in particular you want to go to tomorrow? A favorite restaurant?"

Asariel has posed:
Las gives a look to him, "I..." she frowns as she shushes herself. "Sometimes it just takes a little time for someone to open up about their secrets." she states after a moment of silence. "But that is something that we can talk about another time." she comments. She didn't want to leave the conversation on a heavy note. She lets her hand fall to her side and she looks to him, "Much like the moon some of us have two sides. One is sometimes easier to present depending on the situation." she gives a soft smile. "As for tomorrow, there is a pretty great Thai place that I've not visited in awhile. If that sounds agreeable?" she asks.

Marc Spector has posed:
"Thai sounds lovely" Steven replies. "And... I can be patient" he smiles to Lasariel. "No rush on anything, secrets or otherwise." He eyes her for a moment. "I enjoy these nightly visits, they're refreshing, especailly with you as company. I was in a dour mood, but your arrival picked me right up. Thank you."

Asariel has posed:
"Maybe we'll have to see about more nightly visits to get you out of dour moods. I know that my spirits are a bit brighter after talking with you." Las tells him with a genuine smile. "No reason to thank me though." she adds. "Sadly I should get heading back before a particularly worried Italian comes tromping through here. While I told him I was going for a walk I didn't mention handsome men with weaponry on them." she gives an amused look to that.

Marc Spector has posed:
"Last thing I'd want is to be on Gio's naughty list" Steven replies with a grin. "You need help getting back? I could escort you but..." He pauses and snaps his fingers. "That would probably have me ending up on the list anyway wouldn't it?" He offers his hand to her. "A pleasure as always, Las. Until tomorrow?"

Asariel has posed:
Las gives a playful roll of eyes, "He's not so bad." she tells him. "I could always say that I wandered across you, but he'd probably give us the squinty look." she shakes her head. "I assure you I'll be fine on the way back to the apartment. I'll text you when I get back safely." she adds. She reaches out to take the offered hand and she looks up to him, "Until tomorrow, Steven. Please be safe on your way home...and be careful with that throwing star."

Marc Spector has posed:
"Of course" Steven says after a polite shake. "Thank you for giving me the peace that you'll be okay." He pats his pocket. "I'm always careful with the merchandise. Good night, Lasariel."
