Vanessa Carlysle has posed:
It's getting on towards late in the afternoon on a Tuesday. The day was a cool October day, the wind carrying a little bit of extra chill. Not winter yet by any means, but like it was foreshadowing what was still to come.

April's phone chimes with a text message. When she checks, she'll see it's from Vanessa. There's a picture of a menu at some sort of Greek place given the items for sale. Gyros and all the normal dishes you'd expect at a Greek restaurant in New York. Beneath the photo is the question, "What should I get you?"

April O'Neil has posed:
April texted back 'I'll take whatever you're getting, so long as it doesn't have fish. No fish. Not ever'. She added a Heart emoji and then the wait for mystery food was on!

Only one of the Hyenas is in the stairwell when Vanessa shows up, and he's in the caged off part. He would start barking and then whine when he saw the lady enter to go up to the apartment.

The apartment front door is wide open and there is music playing inside. April is sitting on the sofa with her laptop on her lap and a bright yellow hoodie with white zipper and strings on. She looks up when she inevitably hears noise out there. "Come on up!" She says, knowing that Lou is still in his cage while Bud is with Harley.

Vanessa Carlysle has posed:
Vanessa Carlysle pauses by the caged off part, reaching into the bag which the hyena no doubt can smell the aromas emanating from it. She reaches inside and pulls out something wrapped in foil, opening it up and then tossing a slice of lamb in for the animal. "See, I bring you food. So, you don't eat me, right?" she says to the hyena as she continues on to the apartment door.

The young woman's tennis shoes don't make too much sound as Vanessa comes in through the open door, so she raps softly on the doorframe to announce herself, though April is already calling to her. "Food's on," she says with a smile as she walks into the apartment.

It looks like Vanessa has managed to get a little sun despite it being October. There have been some nice days sprinkled in with the Autumn weather. "Got gyros and extra sauce. And they had these pickled... well, pickles. That looked good," she says, moving over to the familiar refrigerator. "What do you want to drink?" she asks as she opens it up to see what the choices are.

April O'Neil has posed:
Lou starts to eagerly scarf down the food as he pushes it in a circle around inside his caged off corner of the stairwell. He makes a happy cackling noise too as Vanessa goes up the stairs to the apartment.

Upon entering Van will see that April too has a pretty fresh tan on her face and visible neck and chest area... but beyond that there's some notable changes to the apartment. In the form a giant Amazonian sword hanging on the wall on its own plaque shining and impressive looking. There's some other Greek artifacts around the apartment too like a unique light source that doesn't have a plug, and some clothing attire draped over one of the chair that looks like ... is that leather armor? Yep, April and Harley do some weird stuff up here.

April looks up from her laptop with a big smile and reaches up to remove her reading glasses. "Hey." She says. "Thanks for bringing dinner. YOu always grab something different, change it up." She sets her laptop aside and stands up then. "Hows stuff?" She asks next.

Vanessa Carlysle has posed:
Vanessa Carlysle grabs two beers and brings them over with the food. Though Vanessa pauses halfway there to look at the change in decor. "So I guess I chose wisely with Greek? That or you're sick of having it a lot?" she asks, turning from the Greek objects to look at April with a raised eyebrow.

She continues on to take a seat on the couch next to April. A beer is passed over, and then Vanessa digs in the bag, pulling out gyros wrapped in silver foil. She gives one to April and says, "Oh, I'm hanging in there. I guess I've settled back into life for the most part," she says. "Got my old job back at No 5 Orange," she says of the strip club that she waitresses and dances at occasionally to supplement what she makes on the street. "How about you? You're looking good. Harley hasn't gotten you murdered yet. Or, murdered you yet. So, that's a positive I figure?" she says.

April O'Neil has posed:
April walks over to the scented candles on the table beside the tv where she uses the lighter there to get them going, self conscious of Hyena smells in the apartment? Probably. She then moves to close the door because the sound of a cage rattling and whining can be heard out in the stairwell.

Door shut and April shoots a smile back at Vanessa as she comes in with the drinks. She walks over to the sofa to join her and just pulls her feet up on to it, wearing sport shorts and that hoodie. "Well I'm glad you got your job back, but I mean.. of course they hired you back. You're their hottest ... whatever." She says with a smirk. She takes the drink and leans back against the cushions. "No death." She states then with a smile. "We spent a week on Themyscira... actually." She just admits. "Odd vacation site, I know, but... it just came up, so we jumped."

Vanessa Carlysle has posed:
One of Vanessa's eyebrows goes back up. "Not exactly the kind of place one vacations. That I know of anyway, yeah. So what was it like? All... island paradise and everything?" she asks as she opens up her gyro. There's lamb and beef, two for each if they choose, which also means she had enough in case Harley was here.

"So, guessing that means you're hanging with Wonder Woman now too? You have such a glamorous life, April," Vanessa says with an envious sigh. There's a brief downturn of her expression as if the topic sparked some thought. But Vanessa pushes the look from her face and says, "Didn't even get me a leather t-shirt though?" she teases, glancing over at the leather armor.

April O'Neil has posed:
April takes a swig from her drink before she looks at the food. She grins at the words spoken to her before shaking her head. "I found this..." She motions to the sword on the wall. "In a cave. Harley and I were jumping off waterfalls and I saw it sparkling under the water. Swam down and just... yeah. The Amazons found out it was a lost sword from a Captain of one of their sea vessels. She was still alive, and came to see it. She said she lost it in a storm on the mountains and it must have washed down river over time. She replaced it ages ago, so she offered for me to keep it since ... yeah... I am a regular treasure hunter now." April says with a big smirk.

She stands up then and adjusts her hoodie around her waist as she walks over to some of the stuff from the island. "No Wonder Woman, she wasn't on the island while we were there. Harley wants us to go to her Embassy for dinner some time though, and I'd love to have you there too... if you can..." She says while rooting around in some of the stuff. She then pulls out a cloth bag and walks it back to Vanessa. She smiles and offers it to her....

"Here. your swag bag from an island of endless paradise..."

Inside the bag are indeed some clothing, a couple tops and skirts, a collection of unique cups and kitchen ware items, and some hand made jewelry. All of it is ... perfection and could likely sell for an untold amount of money to the right dealers or buyers...

Vanessa Carlysle has posed:
"Oh holy crap, you actually got me something!?" Vanessa says in stunned surprise. She sets her food down on the coffee table. "Oh. Oh wow. April, you really didn't need to. I was just teasing you," she says.

Vanessa takes the bag, opening it up slowly and looking inside. She pulls out a top, holding it up to herself. "Oh this is so nice," she says. Vanessa feels the material between her fingers. "I'm not even sure what that is made of," she comments, and looks for a tag for a moment, before realizing there isn't going to be one.

A bracelet is pulled out. "Wow, this... this is really something. April, you shouldn't have," she says. But the reporter can easily tell the fact that she did really meant something to Vanessa. She hasn't been having the best time of things since she got back, though she's seemed to not want to let that on entirely to April.

April O'Neil has posed:
April settles back down on the edge of the sofa and just puts her hands on her knees as she watches her friend go through the bag. "Of course I did. I could only bring so much back, but I grabbed as much as I could for the people that mean the most to me." She says with a big smile. The top that Van first looks at is sleeveless and scoops low in the front which will likely show off quite a lot of skin. "All of their clothing is generally airy and flowy. Except for their armor..." She glances at the leather set on the chair. "Harley and I got fit for some Training sets... I have no idea what I'll use it for.. Halloween seems kinda insulting to their culture?" She says with a unsure tone.

Her eyes go back to Vanessa then as she smiles at the gold and silver bracelet. "That was made by Hanna, she was a beautiful woman. Is, I mean. She runs a shop on the market street making all manner of things that her partner gets her from the mountains.... Van... they had stuff I felt guilty taking. Like shit I could have that I could bring back here and just scalp for... millions. I didn't wanna do that. I tried not too in fact..." She draws in a breath, her chest rising and falling as she exhales it again.

"But yeah. All their stuff is ... the greatest stuff I've ever seen." She motions to the shirt. "That is silk. Silk from Spiders that glow in the dark and sing songs on starry nights to each other. Like ... they hum songs. The place is a fantasy world...." She laughs softly. "I've never even thought a place like that could be real, But yeah... Perks of Harley Quinn as a friend, I guess?"

Vanessa Carlysle has posed:
Vanessa Carlysle has never been too crazy about April's roommate situation, but it seems she has to nod her head there. "I don't remember things like I did before. The memories that is, it's more like a story I heard, now. Where before it was something I experienced. But the memories of Diana just... wow. If you get a chance to meet her, you definitely should. She's just an amazing person in about every way someone can be," she says.

Again with touching on topics better left alone. Vanessa turns back to the bracelet. "Yes, I know what you mean. It wouldn't be right to sell something like that," she says. Saying it aloud like that, it'll help her stick to it as well. Though there may be some nights she'll sit looking at the jewelry with thoughts of what all they could bring.

Vanessa sets the bag down and then leans over to give April a warm hug. "Thank you, this is all really amazing. I think you have Christmas and my birthday already taken care of now!"

April O'Neil has posed:
April returns the hug and hears the bit about Christmas and Birthday. It makes her laugh as she returns the hug. "Well. There's some saucy clothing in there too... just cause... You know. Whomever you grace with your personal space in the future." She grins big then as she reaches for her beer once more. She then goes to grab one of the gyros off the table and leans back on the sofa again to cross her legs under herself once more.

"I'd love to meet Wonder Lady. Hopefully it'll happen. I've met her sidekick. I had her on the podcast like a year ago... I should check in with her too sometime. She was really nice... She wasn't there on the island either, but the QUEEN was. Oh my god, what a woman she is. She's like... I dunno... Gandalf meets a super model, meets Xena Warrior Queen." April says with a grin. "But I mean, that basicaly describes alla' the ladies there. God. Harley was trying to get me to get hooked up with some of them. She's such a mynx!" April flashes a big grin then as she starts to sample some of the food.... "That's what I need. Introduce Casey to my new Amazonian girlfriend. How 2021 that would be..." She says with a partly full mouth and a smile.

Vanessa Carlysle has posed:
Vanessa Carlysle laughs at the thought. "I don't even want to picture how he'd react," she says with a shake of her head. She picks her food back up, unwrapping her gyro and taking a bite. "Mmmmm," she murmurs. "I don't get lamb very often. It's good though," she says. "Especially with the seasoning and the sauce."

A sip of her beer is taken. "How's the job going, speaking of it? Are you still sticking with the TV gig for now or putting all of your time into the podcast?" Vanessa isn't really a watch the news regularly sort of person. Unless April texts her that there's something worth watching in particular. Or if the world is ending as it seems to every three weeks, Vanessa is likely to have missed it.

But American Pickers? That she definitely catches. Frank and Mike. They are so calming and enjoyable to listen to their banter.

Vanessa takes another bite, not quite waiting to finish swallowing to talk, though being careful to cover her mouth as she does. "I hope the boys are doing well too," Vanessa says, in a tone that makes it clear enough she's talking about the Turtles. "I'm afraid I'm not as much help for them as I once was," he says with a sigh.

April O'Neil has posed:
April shows a quick smirk at the talk of her work as she takes a moment to respond. "Yeah. I'm sticking with the news for now. They actually gave me a raise... I was hinting around that my podcast was making me good money and I guess it was enough to get the message across. At least for now. The money can only go so far in a place like that. Plus I don't want to do the anchor jobs anymore... I grew up thinking that's what I was gonna shoot for... But now that podcasts let you be your own anchor, without any behind the scenes restrictions from assholes in suits and ties... I'd rather be on the cutting edge of news, than apart of some legacy thing? You know?" She smiles quickly again and shakes her head. "The remote pieces are still kinda fun sometimes, least it gets me outside. Otherwise I'd be couped up all damn day on my computer. I'd get... ya know, fat." She grins.

Another sip of her drink is had. "So when are you working? I'll bring Harley by and we'll hoot and hollar at you." She laughs softly. "If you'd like. And the guys are okay. I think they want to move back to their Lair in fact... they miss their home."
