Synopsis: Reagan continues to make friends at Happy Harbor with a late night hangout
Cast of Characters: Reagan Murphy, Dyani Zitkala, Madison Evans

Reagan Murphy has posed:
Reagan Murphy comes in a bit late at night. She hasn't been in the room as much, although it can be hard to tell, given that she's invisible. Some of that was homesickness, spending a lot of time visiting her aunt, but it's also just that she's naturally shy. Still, she knows she sh ould make an effort to be more sociable.

She's brought home a fancy coffee maker that her aunt got for her, the kind that makes foamy cappuccino's and the like, carrying it low in her hands as she opens the door with her backpack slung around her neck, "Caffeine needs will be met," she says.

Dyani Zitkala has posed:
Tonight Dyani is sitting at the window, with it open, going over the bees. This process consists of her being covered in bees, taking stock of their health and then sending them back to the hives below one at a time. Her antenna are wiggling in the air as she holds conversations, and on the window sill is a collection of pastries that are likely a few days old, no good for people, but the bees are loving it. The time of year has the bees slowing down, ready for the cooler winter when usually, they mostly hangout in the hive. Thankfully for these however, they have Dyani for a queen.

Turning her head, the only thing not covered in bees being her mouth, she says cheerfully, "We like caffeine, we just add lots of sugar."

Reagan Murphy has posed:
Reagan Murphy stares for a moment but then shakes it off, her long red hair flopping about a bit, the curls framing her face. She has to get used to these peculiarities and she can't be weird about it. She's already naturally weird to begin with, piling on more would just make things worse.

"Sugar in abundance, gotcha. Honestly, I like the sweet stuff, too. Mochas and stuff. Basically coffee flavored hot chocolate."

Dyani Zitkala has posed:
The bees stay on or near Dyani until they are 'dismissed', then they move to the sill or out the window. The room itself is perfectly clear of bees.

"Our mother sends us sugar because, well, it is our primary source of food," she explains, pointing to a basket under her desk that has a ten pound bag of sugar in it. "We do not add sugar to things it should not be added to. Could you imagine a hamburger with sugar? Ew. How are you Reagon. We have wondered where you were."

Reagan Murphy has posed:
Reagan Murphy wiggles her nose a little, "Yeah, I don't think sugary hamburgers would be good. I bet somebody's tried it, though. Probably one of those Tik Tok trends, like people making tacos out of ice cream and stuff," she says.

"I'm not bad. I'm kinda...getting used to people again. Before I came here, I had been on my own for a while, kind of on the run...it's a long story, but I just hadn't really been...normal in a while. I guess I never really was. But I wanna try to make friends."

Dyani Zitkala has posed:
Another group of bees takes off and out the window, leaving Dyani's face clear now. "There was a meet and greet for new students from other countries, and a few from here in the United States," she explains. "Ms MacIntyre and pizza and soda there for students, and the bees only stole a little pineapple. We love pineapple."

She turns a little, still taking stock of the bees while she talks, she can multitask it seems. "It is not easy to adjust to changes. When we first were freed, we could not figure anything out. We could not see well then, so it was even more difficult, but in time it will get better. We know because it got better for us."

Reagan Murphy has posed:
Reagan Murphy nods, "I'm glad it did. I'm sure I'll get there, I just...I lost a lot of trust in other people, y'know? LIke, my own mom was using me. She killed my dad and she could've killed me, if her experiments hadn't...worked," she says.

"And it's too easy for me to just disappear or disguise myself, so it's like I"ve always had a way out, if I ever felt freaked out or strange or unhappy, I would just...go away."

Dyani Zitkala has posed:
Taking a moment to mentally tag a few of the bees, Dyani sends them all back to the hive or those pastries, cause yum, then stands up and moves a little closer to Reagan. What she'd like to do is hug her, but Madison has reminded her time and again you have to ask first.

"We are your friend Reagan," she says first with a huge smile. "And we will protect you, watch your back even. You do not have to hide or run away any more. Maddie, Irie and Theo would be your friend too, they are really nice, you met Maddie, and if you want, you can meet Irie and Theo."

Her wings flutter behind her, the hugging energy moving there to keep her from actually hugging Reagan without permission. "One at a time of course, since too many people still make you nervous."

Reagan Murphy has posed:
Reagan Murphy smiles brightly and almost looks like she's going to cry for a second, "That's really nice. You're a really nice person, Dyani. I'm lucky I got a nice roommate,' she says, sitting on the edge of her bed.

"I'd like to meet your friends, too. It would be cool to like...be part of a group. Go bowling or do...normal things," she says. She had been homeschooled and isolated for years before she discovered her mother's betrayal, after all.

Dyani Zitkala has posed:
Dyani giggles and spins in a circle that may also be partly in the air as her wings flutter.

"Oh that would be so fun! We play D&D, and could go bowling, and we sneak Maddie junk food because her mother is mean about that kind of thing," she giggles more then lands. Sitting on the edge of the lower bed, Reagan's bed, but making sure there is space between then she grins great big.

"We could teach you archery with Maddie too, since she is learning. We do it after school. There are all kinds of things we can do!"

Reagan Murphy has posed:
Reagan Murphy grins, "I'm good at sneaking stuff. Comes with the territory with my powers," she grins. She also doesn't have much problem with breaking rules. She's had to break quite a few in her own time, notably having done a fair amount of shoplifting in her younger days.

She doesn't seem to mind the other girl's closeness, having grown more comfortable with time. "Archery, huh? I don't think I know archery. I mean, I have some skills that I...sometimes I can do things that I dont' remember how I learned them. Part of what was done to me. Like...fight and stuff."

Madison Evans has posed:
If a knock can be cheerful - this one is. It's the rapid, rhythmic quality of it - it sounds like someone is trying to rap out the beat of a specific song, but it's a bit hard to tell which. This is followed by, "Dyani? You in?" in Maddie's bright tones.
When the door opens, Maddie is standing there - in her 'Ceci n'est pas une lune' shirt - with the image of a moon depicted about it. In one hand, she holds a reuseible tote bag. "My mom made a bunch of fruit leathers and wanted me to share with my friends!" she explains brightly, once the door is opened.
    "Hi Reagan!"

Dyani Zitkala has posed:
That huge smile stays in Dyani's face, as if everything Reagan says is just as wonderful and important as it could be. It may not be, but to Dyani it is because Reagan is her friend. She seems to realize something and looks toward the window.

"Are you cold? Do you need me to mostly close that?" she asks, already preparing to move and close the window down to that little crack she keeps to let the bees in and out.

The sound at the door has Dyani on her feet, but not for the window, instead she goes to the door and before opening it pauses there. In the hall Madison can see a bee walking along the top of the door looking at her. Then the door opens.

"Maddie!" And Dyani hugs her.

Reagan Murphy has posed:
Reagan Murphy shakes her head, "I kinda love sweaters. I like it cold. You can leave it open all you want," she says. "That's what blankets are for, after all!" she says.

She looks towards Madi's arrival, her thick red hair tumbling down over her shoulders, her slender body nestled in a thick orange and black sweater, very autumnal, "Hi! C'mon in! I got a coffee maker!"

Madison Evans has posed:
"Hi Dyani!" Maddie says brightly, returning the hug. "Did you want some of the fruit leather? My mom made it with fall fruits - so it's mostly pears and pomegranate juice, really - it's not bad. Reagan, you want some?" she offers.
At the offers of coffee, though, she lets out a little giggle adding, "I'm not hyper enough already? I mean - I usually only have tea, really. Coffee's... pretty bitter."

Dyani Zitkala has posed:
Dyani releases Madison so she can actually come into the room, then shuts the door behind her.

"We have sugar, lots of it," she points to the ten pound bag of sugar under her desk. "We could make coffee and bounce off the walls and ceiling for the next few hours, though we think only we can bounce off the ceiling."

eShe wanders back over to sit on the edge of Reagan's bed. Her desk chair is also right there if Madison wants to sit. The window is almost completely open as the bees are coming and going for the pastries on the window sill.

"We have never had fruit leather, we did not know you could skin and dry fruit skins."

Reagan Murphy has posed:
Reagan Murphy folds her legs up underneath her, "I'm not policin' your behavior. You being hyper doesn't bother me any," she grins. "Fruit leather is...not a term I've herad. It sounds super frankensteiny or like something from a BDSM shop. But I think it might also just be fruit roll ups. Either way, I'm game," she says.

"I'm down for some bouncing if you are!"

Madison Evans has posed:
Madison blinks between the two other teens, and then bursts into giggles. "Yeah, it's like fruit rolls ups - only made more from fruit - and less from sugars and dyes. You cook the fruit down into a fruit sauce, or fruit butter - then you spread it out real thin and put it in a dehydrator, then you slice it into strips with a pizza cutter."
Madison pulls out a ziplock bag of the 'treats' from the tote she brought with her to show the other girls. "See? It's - well. Just about as close to candy as we get at my house. Though I still have Halloween candy hidden around my room from Trick-or-Treating." She grins in amusement at that admission, as she passes out the fruit leathers to anyone who wants one.

Dyani Zitkala has posed:
Dyani eyes the ziplock of fruit leather for a moment, then looks between Madison and Reagan.

"We have never had fruit rollers either," she admits. "But we are willing to try anything at least once."

Then Reagan is willing for hyper and Dyani is bouncing again, "We love coffee with sugar and cream, we have powered creamer. I could fly to the corner store and get real cream, do we need coffee too? We totally need to make coffee and bounce off the walls."

Reagan Murphy has posed:
Reagan Murphy grins, "I will take some of that Halloween candy if you have it to spare. I probably should've gone out more, I can do any costume I want at the drop of a hat. Scare the pants off somebody," she grins.

"I brought some gourmet coffee along with the machine. Some sort of Colombian stuff, I guess. My aunt called it the coffee version of cocaine, which sounds a little extreme, but she's like that."

She takes a piece of fruit leather and bites into it enthusiastically, letting it stretch a bit before it snaps free.

Madison Evans has posed:
"Oh - err... the candy's at home, though. Hidden in my room," Madison explains. Some of it's in the drawer with her miniature painting supplies, some of it's tucked in the back of her wardrobe - lots of little places. "So I don't have any on me. Sorry." She drops into the empty chair, pulling out one of the fruit leathers for Dyani first, and then another for herself, nibbling on it happily. She really enjoys the tartness of the pomegranates - though honestly it's better in the spring when her mom can make the leathers with strawberries. "Have you been liking the school here, Reagan?" she asks politely. "No trouble with your classes, I hope?"

Dyani Zitkala has posed:
Dyani dives under her desk and pulls out a very large bag, in it are several ziplock bags of candy. She sets it on the bed by Reagan as she giggles, "We didn't have to wear a costume, people thought we were in costume. We got a /lot of candy, you can have all you want because there is too much."

Then Dyani takes a piece of the fruit leather as she sits back on the edge of the bed, shoving the massive amounts of candy toward Reagan. She sniffed at the the leather once then grins, "It smells like pears!" She chimes happily then takes a bite. Really, she's an easy kid.

Reagan Murphy has posed:
Reagan Murphy stares at all the candy, "Oh shit, you hit the motherlode," she says. She gathers up the candy in her arms and almost tosses it in the air like a rich person in a cartoon, letting it rain down a little bit, but she stops herself and just throws some of it on the bed and opens a bag to get at some chocolate.

"Um, school's fine, I guess. I don't really have academic problems, I've always been good at that stuff. My mom made sure the curriculum was very advanced, even if she was an evil psycho bitch."

Madison Evans has posed:
"I mean. Being an evil psycho bitch is not, you know, incompatable with valuing education, I guess," Madison agrees - the brightness in her tone sobering a little at the mention of Reagan's mom. She quickly gets it back into place, though, as she adds, "I'm glad you're doing alright at school, though. I mean, I remember how nervous I was about moving out here, and upset I was with my mom - but I //love// Happy Harbor so much. I- well, I still miss my friends, but I'm honestly glad we moved," she admits.
Grinning at Dyani she adds, "You know - you're either going to need a costume next year - or you'll need to hit a new neighborhood. Otherwise they'll be on to you!"

Dyani Zitkala has posed:
Dyani giggles and wiggles her wings as she chewed the pear fruit leather. "Needs more sugar," she comments, but that doesn't stop her from taking another bite.

"Our human parents are just happy we can get an education," she finally says when she swallowed. "It is very important, but to them, friends are more important. They do not care if we do well in school, so long as we are always trying and learning. We do not think they know what will happen when we are no longer in school, because obviously we cannot go get a job at McDonald's, but we are thinking we should go to college and learn more about insects other than bees, wasps and hornets."

Reagan Murphy has posed:
Reagan Murphy nods, "Yeah, that's kinda how my aunt feels. As long as I have some good times and make some friends, have something normal after allt hese years..."

"I can help with costumes. I'm good at making clothes and stuff," she says, pointing over to her little place in the craft corner. "I have no idea what I'm going to do at college or what I'm going to major in. English, maybe, although that's a surefire ticket to that McDonald's job."

Madison Evans has posed:
"I wasn't really sure I wanted to go to college," Madison admits. "But then I won the science faire, and so now I have that scholarship so- I guess I kinda gotta, you know?" she remarks in a thoughtful tone.
"I'm not sure what I'd study. ...science? I don't know. Maybe we could all go to the same college, though!" she suggests, beaming at both girls before taking another bite of fruit leather.
"There isn't //any// added sugar, you know, Dyani. My //mom// made it," she reminds her with an amused grin.

Dyani Zitkala has posed:
Dyani finishes off the pear fruit leather, then dives under her desk again. Clearly she has way too much stuff under there because she comes out with three bottles of water. One is offered to each person as she settles on the bed again.

"We do not have a scholarship, but our human parent's say they have saved up for college," she admits, opening her water for a drink. "We are also willing to work, if we can. We think the only college we could get in to would be one in Genosha though, most human colleges would not want us there.... but if we can find one that doesn't care, we would go to the same college."

Now she looks at Reagan, "Why would studying English be a ticket to a McDonald's job, most people we see at McDonald's as Hispanic." No, Dyani is not racist, she is clueless, there is a difference.

Reagan Murphy has posed:
Reagan Murphy takes the bottle of water and is only a little disappointed it doesn't turn out to be booze. But she doesn't say anything to Dyani, she wouldn't want to hurt her friend's feelings. Maybe sometime she can bring some herself.

"I don't know where I"d wanna go to college. I guess near here, or at least somewhere in the city," she says. "Nah, it's just...not a very practical skill. Unless I want to be an English teacher, which I do NOT," she says. "I want to write things, eventually. Stories and stuff."

Madison Evans has posed:
Madison takes the water, but before she can take a sip, she ends up gaping at her friend. "Dyani!" she exclaims. "You can't say stuff like that! It sounds- well, it sounds really bad. People will take it the wrong," she warns, shaking her head. Geeeeeeze!
Letting out a sigh she adds, "Well. If Genosha'll take Jedi, maybe I can go to college there, too," she suggests. "Though I don't think my mom would like that very much. I mean, honestly, I really haven't put as much thought into it as I probably should."

Dyani Zitkala has posed:
Dyani tilts her head for a moment, confusion being the expression on her face.

"We do not understand," she says looking between them. "They are Hispanic, and African-American, and Caucasian American, but many already speak English, just not well, so we did not understand how an English major would be a McDonald's job... we still do not."

She looks to Reagan, "If you want to be a writer though, that we can understand and would read everything you wrote." Now to Madison, "And we think Genosha will take Jedi," sure, mutant Jedi but she won't say that. "So we can go to college there if no where else will take us.
