Saving the Elder
Date of Scene: 22 November 2021
Location: Selene's Safehouse
Synopsis: Elektra and Selene recover after their intervention at the train station ambush. They get help from a doctor and then speak to the Lady Amelia, leader of the New World Coven to tell her about Kraven's betrayal.
Cast of Characters: Selene Corvinus, Elektra Natchios

Selene Corvinus has posed:
The drive to the safe house had been frantic but there had been no further attacks. The Lycans had been driven off and Amelia was in their custody and protection now.

On the drive to the local safe house, Amelia laid in the back of the car and Selene tended to her wounds. The Elder Vampire looked to Elektra in the driver's seat and after quite a few minutes of staring, she spoke up. "I like her." She said of Elektra, showing a smile before looking to Selene. "I see why you have spent a lot of time with this one." She added which garndered a soft grin from Selene. "Hold still. The wound will heal sooner." She'd told the Elder Vampire, who scoffed a bit at being told how to heal.

Upon arrival at the safe house though, more Death Dealers showed up to assist. Four total, one of them a doctor. A young (looking) blonde woman in black who took Amelia in to the master bedroom of the suite to look at her wounds. Selene there-after helped Elektra to the sofa to look her over next. She is there now, kneeling beside the sofa and looking the wound over. "I owe you quite a lot for this one." Selene says to Ele as she looks up at her and smiles lightly.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
So this was a Elder. The staring had been mutual, even if most of Elektra's had been through the rearview mirror of the car, taking measure of this elder of Selene's coven. It had been a close call. Rather close, and perhaps even miraculously they had been successful. Had Elektra considered how low the odds of surviving against an old lycan like she had were? She preferred not to think on that just now.

And just drive.

The comment from Amelia about herself had brought a faint smirk out of Elektra, the assassin replying, "Selene's wise for her age." she says, about them spending a lot of time together!

Arriving at the safe house meant she could finally relax. Somewhat. She has lost a bit of blood, just a tad paler but upon inspection it doesn't seem like they are that deep. She lies back on the sofa, eyes trailing down her side, then to Selene, "Nothing you wouldn't do for me." she says easily, "Yet, I am certain I can think on ways you can thank me." such a tease!

Selene Corvinus has posed:
The teasing comment from the assassin has Selene grinning now as she performs her skillful- if limited --first aid on the other's side. "Not until this is healed. Of course." She says with a glance back up to Ele.

One of the other Death Dealers steps over to the sofa to report to Selene then who looks up and over at him. "Have the others stay on the ground floor, in the shadows. We will only be here a short time. Once the wounds are cared for and a bit of rest is had."

The doors to the master bedroom open up and the blonde haired woman comes out then. She walks to the sofa and crouches down beside Selene, who steps back to let the doctor tend to Elektra now.

"Amelia wants to know what happened." The Doctor says with a look to Selene.

Selene nods curtly once. "I'm sure she does. We'll tell her everything. But it won't be easy for her to hear..."

Elektra Natchios has posed:
"Of course." Elektra says, still with that teasing look upon her expression while Selene does the first aid on her. "This is starting to become a norm. I must be getting slow with my old age." What? She is 30. Isn't that the new 50s according to some gens?

As the death dealers move about Elektra makes certain to look them over, carefully. Is she looking for signs of betrayal? Maybe. Someone who lives like she does can't really afford to trust many people. And these people are all unknown to her. Still, when the blonde haired woman comes by to tend to her wounds she lets her do so even she keeps her attention on what is being done.

"The truth is never easy. It was a bold move though, he must feel very secure on his position to do something like this." Elektra comments, her eyes straying back up to Selene, "Though I might be able to provide some further proof. I had someone follow him after." then a faint smile, "But I am sure your word should be enough."

Selene Corvinus has posed:
Selene sits up on to the edge of the glass coffee table as the Doctor takes care of Elektra. She watches her work for a moment before Ele's words draw her eyes back to the other's own. "Amelia hates Kraven. She didn't want him to come to America at all. But when I was asked to train the security here... he demanded to go also. At least periodically. He does go back to Hungary every few weeks for a..." She trails off then and there.

Her eyes glance to the Doctor and the blonde can tell she's being looked at, so she speaks up while working on Elektra.

"Kraven is a piece of filth." The Doctor says, which draws a slight grin from Selene. She looks back to Ele then. "What did your surveillance come up with?" She asks then.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
As the Doc makes her feelings known about Kraven it brings a smirk out of Elektra, "Then it seems we are all in good company here." because she doesn't really like Kraven at all either! With Selene asking about the surveillance, "Actually, one second." the assassin reaches with her free arm to the folds of her suit, bringing out a slim smartphone. She click-clicks on it, a moment passing...

"Had a few messages here to read." a small frown at what she is reading there. Yet the way she cants her head to the side it's as if she isn't exactly understanding what she is reading! "Apparently .., trafficking. The message wasn't too clear. Something to do with girls too." another frown, this one deeper. "I will have to call my contact for more details. Though from what I am reading she may have some pics, and audio.", a moment as Elektra types a few things on the phone and then stashes it away.

"He will know by now that the hit was a failure. How dangerous can this become? Does he have backing from others of your kind?"

Selene Corvinus has posed:
Selene reaches for the first aid kit she was using to put away some of the materials and to sanitize her hands again... even Vampires worry about spreading germs to wounded Humans!

She looks back to Elektra then at the trafficking comment. "He's securing financial ties here then, through the way only he could... filthy." She states softly as she glances to the Doctor who keeps working on the wounds, now preparing to stitch them up on the darker skinned Elektra.

Selene looks back then. "He has his entourage that he travels with. Eight people in total. He has a number of sicophants that he's amassed here over the years. They keep to their private locations, mostly. His suite in Manhattan being the most used. He has... become addicted to having his own spaces here in the States. It's part of the divide amongst our people who do not wish to sever ties with the world, once the Lycans are eradicated.... It seems to be a growing misgiving in fact.."

Selene is about to speak again when a voice calls out from the master bedroom. "Selene. Are you two able to come and speak now?"

Selene looks to the doctor, and then to Elektra.

Amelia awaits.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
No reaction out of Elektra as she starts getting stitched up. She is used to this. The type of woman that ain't got no time to bleed! Her eyes instead go to Selene, nodding slowly, "Eight of them. I imagine the kind that can be trouble too. Death Dealers as well?" she inquires.

Yet as the conversation is about to proceed and those words from the Elder are spoken she exchanges a look with Selene, then looks back to the Doctor and the wound. "Seems it's pretty much fine for now." a brief smirk, "I have had worse." a brief pause before she adds to the Doctor, "Thank you for patching it up."

Slowly she begins to get up to her feet, getting her shirt back on again. "Shall we?" she says at Selene.

Selene Corvinus has posed:
Establishing the New World Coven had been a challenge so far, to say the least. Elektra's words get a shake from Selene's head. "A Vampire in our coven does not get the title of Death Dealer until I approve it. Kraven's loyalists are never approved. It's one of the reasons he... well, as you've seen." She says smoothly, coldly, as Elektra rises. Selene offers a stabilizing hand to help the other up to her feet.

The doctor offers a quick smile as she pulls her latex gloves off and rolls them up to put away in her leather bag. "I'll be just outside if you, or the Lady needs me." She tells Selene who nods to the blonde woman once.

Selene then looks to Elektra and walks with her toward the master bedroom...

Inside, the lavish furnishings are primarily decored in blood red hues. There is a four post bed with crimson linens and deep maroon drapes that are pulled back to show the woman laying in the center of the bed.

Amelia is half under the covers and half out, wearing a black silk robe that is closed up to her neckline. Her hair is messily done up atop her head still as she hasn't had a great night and doesn't seem interested in doing much else with it here and now. "Selene." She says, her voice not as husky as Sel's own, but still smooth and soft. "Thank you both..." She adds as her eyes look to Elektra then. "We've underestimated you." She says to the darker skinned assassin.

Selene walks in to the room and stops at the foot of the bed. "I'm just glad we found out when we did..."

"You and I both." Amelia states dryly. "What... happened?" She asks coldly now.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
A sound that may pass as understanding accent rises from Elektra's throat, followed by a nod. Yes, Elektra understands well the.., 'politics' behind these kind of things. And in the end many of these vampires do have rather human feelings. Bitterness and betrayal being in the forefront where it comes to Kraven. Her gloved hand clasps over Selene's and she gets up. Slowly so as to not blow up the stitches but soon enough she is walking normally. A nod to the 'good' doctor and then she walks alongside Selene into that bedroom...

The assassin's dark gaze takes note of the decor. The color. Fitting for certain..

It's an inspection that gets interrupted when she hears the woman laying on the bed, eyes straying to her, taking in her whole appearance and condition. A small miracle that she can even talk after the wounds she had seen. But then again this was anything but someone normal.

"It was the least I could do after what we uncovered.", then a glance to Selene, a pause as if to wait for approval and then she speaks up, "I am part of the Hellfire Club, not only as a member but also part of the board. I had noticed this Kraven had been having a few meetings at the Club as of late. Selene had told me of her suspicions on the man so it made me more alert and had me keep surveillance on him when he was at the club. I brought Selene over last night to witness one of such meetings and it turns out he was dealing with .., someone named Raze?" a look to Selene for confirmation. "One of the lycans. He was relaying your arrival to New York through Montreal and the train you would take."

Her expression darkens as she speaks all that.

Selene Corvinus has posed:
Selene nods softly to Elektra as the other woman starts, then, to relay the information they went with to get here. When Ele spills it all out there, Amelia just lays there calmly watching and taking it in. Her eyes then move to Selene.
5r "Kraven is one step away from being his own Elder. Such a thing would likely happen in the next century. Why would he do anything like this?" She asks the leader of the Death Dealers.

"Because he doesn't want some power. He wants all of it." Selene coldly responds to Amelia. She starts to walk around the corner of the bed until she's standing on the right hand side of it, her eyes down on the injured Vampire Lady.

"Kraven is against Separation. So many within the New World Coven are. The money and power that has come with being in New York has tainted the minds of ... well, at least some of our numbers. Kraven is at the top of that list." She pauses as Amelia looks down at the bed she's laying upon. "Kraven wanted you gone, so he could replace you. This is my belief, and Elektra has helped me realize it." She glances to the assassin, as does Amelia. "There is nothing left to suspect about his intentions now."

Amelia is quiet for a few more moments before she looks up again. "His plan has failed." She says softly then, her left hand coming up to rest on her lap atop the crimson cover. "He likely knows this by now. But does he know, that we know?" She asks as her gaze goes once more up to the two women before her bed.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
Folding her arms together Elektra takes a few steps closer but still keeps a fair distance away from the two vampires, watching, listening. A grim nod comes from the assassin, "In the end he is but a ..., greedy man." and those Elektra can certainly handle. Which may also be an over-simplification on the matter considering how old and powerful Kraven actually is. But that's just details that Elektra doesn't want to go into.

"Maybe not." She then finally answering that last question. "Meetings at the Hellfire Club are usually a very private affair, and we took precautions that we wouldn't be seen." a glance over to Elektra, "It is something we may be able to use."

"At least in bringing him somewhere so he can be restrained and questioned. Yet with him having put all his chips on this he may try for a desperate gambit, like attacking directly with his people." She steps over to rest one hand on Selene's shoulder.

"This is certainly not over yet."

Selene Corvinus has posed:
This information makes Amelia fall silent again as she considers it all. Selene looks over to Elektra beside her and smiles lightly at the hand on her shoulder. Amelia speaks up then and draws Sel's eyes back down to her. "He'll know it was you two." She says, as she looks over and up at the pair beside her bed. "Some of his people escaped. ARe the Death Dealers compromised?" Amelia asks Selene directly then.

Selene shakes her head. "I don't believe so. The ones I've trained here have displayed nothing but loyalty, and I've never seen any openly interacting with Kraven, or his entourage. But I've played it safe thus far, just in case. We do, however, need to get back to New York as soon as possible."

"Yes." Amelia responds. "We'll leave just before dawn. We have vehicles here that we can use, down in the parking garage. My entire council is gone, Selene..." She looks back up to the two women then. "If Kraven is responsible for this, I will rip out his fucking heart myself." She states with a cold stern sincerity.

Selene just nods her head a single time. "We'll hold him still for you." She quietly replie, which garners a faint and brief smirk from the Elder Vampire.

Selene exchanges a glance with Elektra, before looking back. "We will go get the vehicles ready for departure. We should be back in New York by mid afternoon."
