Cast of Characters: Lara Croft, Clint Barton

Lara Croft has posed:
The morning sees a lot of office activity around the coffee maker. Her hair wet from a workout running, climbing, swimming, showering regimen before work starts, Lara is no exception, though she's more interested in a bagel, this morning, it seems. Buttering it up, she doesn't seem to mind her moist ponytail dangling over her professional attire.

Clint Barton has posed:
Clint got a different kind of workout, apparently.

He walks into the offices in the remainder of tactical gear from a previous mission, and he was humming a tune to a song it looks like. He has a bandage around his elbow, like he took a rough fall. He starts moving towards a desk space, and he sees Lara chowing down on a bagel. "Lara, good morning." He says in passing as he takes a seat a desk over, where he can still be seen. But rather than fill out reports, he takes a moment to start putting arrowheads on his arrows. A little bit of fletch-work.

Lara Croft has posed:
Perking up like a lion with her face inside a wildebeast, Lara puts down the bagel and gives Clint her full attention. A quick swallow is followed by, "Clint!" She wipes her fingers against each other, crumbs falling onto the plate before she uses her napkin. "Good morning," she echoes back. Moving toward him, she says, "What happened to you?" It was just polite conversation, but it wasn't like Hawkeye was purposefully hiding the bandage.

Clint Barton has posed:
Clint wasn't expecting Lara to look so perky today! It was a nice surprise to be sure. After he sits down, Lara's approaching him and he smiles at her. "Fell off of a building. Was able to rebound, but the landing sucked." He chuckles a little bit. "Just a Wednesday, I wouldn't sweat it. How you doing today?" He questions her as he puts on an arrowhead, then inspects his work before putting it to a pile.

Lara Croft has posed:
Lara huffs out a breath. "Midweek leading into a holiday?" she says. "It's easier to wrangle children than to get any meaningful work done in a timely manner, just now." She nibbles a bit of her bagel. "Hey," she says before swallowing. "You wouldn't happen to be willing to join me on a personal project of mine, would you? I'd cover your travel expenses, but we would be going to Siberia."

Clint Barton has posed:
"Yeah, I feel that. I'm looking forward to having a day off." Clint sighs happily...then Lara is leaving an offer on the table for him to join her on a journey. He stops what he's doing a moment to look at her, and he hums for a second. "Well, a vacation is always nice. Why are we going to Siberia? They don't exactly like Americans....or Brits for that matter." Clint tells Lara, recalling every reason to avoid Siberia...like Red Room Widows

Lara Croft has posed:
Lara clears her throat. "I'm following up on my father's life work," she says, putting her other hand on her plate, now holding it with both hands for the moment. "If I don't miss my guess, I think Trinity will be after it just as soon as they can figure out where it is. I think I've got a lead."

Clint Barton has posed:
Clint listens to what she says and about Trinity. Shadow organizations are always a great time. "Okay, and your father's life's work is in Siberia...okay, you know I'm not really an ancient artifact retrieval guy right? I mean, I'm happy to help but ancient history isn't my forte." Clint warns Lara. "Other than that....When are we leaving?" Because he's sure as hell not letting her do it herself. "and what's your lead?"

Lara Croft has posed:
Lara holds up a finger as she puts the bagel down on Clint's desk. She moves into the sea of cubicles where her desk lies...somewhere...then comes back with a folder. She grabs a rolling chair from a nearby space and rolls it next to Clint. Sitting in it, she opens the folder on his desk. "I'll spare you a lot of Divine Source background or what I found in Syria. I'll handle the ancient history part, it sounds like." She flips through some pages. "I believe I've found the lost city of Kitezh."

Clint Barton has posed:
Clint watches the bagel be put on his desk and for a brief moment, he raises a brow. He thinks about it, thinks about taking the bagel for his own and ruling the world of hunger. Though Lara comes back with a rolling chair that she sets next to him as she gives him the details. He leans on the arm of his chair to get a better angle to look at it. "Huh....interesting." He then looks at Lara with a look of pure confusion on his face.

"Should I pretend I know what Kitezh is? Because I honestly have no idea. I'm guessing its important though."

Lara Croft has posed:
"A lost city," Lara says. "Location of the Divine Source. My father was looking in the wrong place, essentially." She flips through her notes. "This symbol," she says, pointing at a scan from what looks like a large book, "is connected to--" She huffs out a bit. "Okay, to sum up, I've found connections, had a breakin by Trinity which confirms a lot, and now I'm aimed at Siberia to find the lost city and finish my father's work."

Clint Barton has posed:
Clint runs a hand through his hair as he considers this. Divine Source...that sounds like something magical and probably super dangerous. He looks at the scan she points to and he takes a deep breath. "Okay, so a divine source that your dad was spending his life looking for is in the wrong place, but you think its in Siberia. You had a break in done by Trinity which confirms your suspicions that they're trying to beat you to it." He exhales a breath. "Alright, I guess I'm bringing a few quivers with me. Does that book tell you of any dangers? I've seen a few movies in my time, are there ancient guardians to this place? There's a reason why its a lost city."

Lara Croft has posed:
"I don't have any indicators of ancient guardians," Lara says. She would have discounted that in years past, but given what she's seen after joining SHIELD, it's not as unlikely, especially if there was an Asgardian presence at some point. "However, Trinity will likely be armed with automatic submachineguns and explosives."

Clint Barton has posed:
Clint smirks a little bit. "Oh good, I'm not worried about them. They're just people at the end of the day." Of course, Clint says 'just people' but when you're primary job is to fight things that are considerably not normal or repeatedly have been chosen to take out world leaders and even alien invaders, people with a few machine guns is not something that lint is overly concerned of.

Lara Croft has posed:
Lara huffs out a half-chuckle through a half-smile. She furrows her brow and looks at Clint. "People," she reminds him. "People like you. Like me. Like Batman. Admittedly, I'm not convinced none of us have some kind of low-level superpowers, but we shouldn't discount them based on their humanity."
