Cast of Characters: Carin Taylor, Chloe Sharpe

Carin Taylor has posed:
Greenwich Village tends to have a lot of different types wandering around. While it's slightly more high end, the presence of students from ESU combined with the business types from the various headquarters and tourists come just to gawk, there's always people coming and going.

Some, unfortunately, prefer to go with cars that are not their own.

Which is why there's currently a pair of men in hoodies trying to pull a man out of his BMW sedan to borrow said car.

Chloe Sharpe has posed:
Chloe Sharpe had been earning a bit of money doing food delivery for the students nearby when she heard the commotion with the car thief nearby. Every wanting to do the right thing, and even more often lacking in common sense, she thought this would be the perfect opportunity to duck into a nearby ally. She hurriedly casts her clothes aside and wreathes herselve in the warped light of her costume before storming out of the alley, doing her best to appear heroic while doing so! "Halt, evildoer! Or face the wrath of... GLIMMER!" She shouts her hero name, and send sparks into the air. Not actually stopping the robbers, mind you. She seems more concerned with getting her name out there. Still, she'd attract a lot of attention.

Carin Taylor has posed:
Alternately...Carin Taylor is NOT wanting trouble. She's already having a hard time of it...confused, amnesiac, relying on complete strangers to try and help her out. Not to mention feeling like she should still be on the run, because that's really what she usually does...run away and avoid the confrontation if she can. Just life doesn't always allow it.

In this case, she happens to be right next to the car on the sidewalk when the carjacking goes down. The robber jump a bit at the declaration, one turning towards Glimmer as the man gets shoved away and runs off. "...fuck man, what, we're getting the low budget heroes today?" He does draw a gun, as his body slides into the car's driver' sseat, peering back out.

Chloe Sharpe has posed:
Chloe Sharpe actually looks a bit alarmed by the drawing of the gun. She's rather new to this superhero business. She offers a less than heroic gasp as she holds up a hand, and a brilliant flash of light would erupt in the face of the robber in the drivers seat, brief and intense like a flashbang. At the very least, she's managed to make driving more difficult. "I-I'm not low budget!" She protests a bit petulantly, and starts darting from car to car, taking cover to avoid being shot accidentally. She doesn't have much in the means to actually disarm him. She looks a bit nervous.

Carin Taylor has posed:
The flash of light strikes the startled driver, who reels back and starts curling as he covers his face. "Ah, fuck my eyes!" The other robber catches part of the flash but looks away in time to where he's dazzled and thrown off at least, staggering back as he waves the pistol he has around. "DAmmit, I'm gonna put a hole in you!" Not the best villain banter.

Other civies in the area at least are wisely taking cover or fleeing their cars after the flash and the man with the gun.

Which is when the guy grabs blindly at the nearest person to him....which happens to be Carin, who freezes up as she's grabbed and suddenly has a gun pointing at her head. Sorta. "I'll shoot her if you don't get lost!"

Chloe Sharpe has posed:
Chloe Sharpe looks a bit like a wounded puppy, if the expression below her glittering domino mask can be believed. She didn't clear the area, and now a civilian is in danger. She thinks for a moment, clearly frantic. "O... okay! Okay, I'll go! Don't hurt 'er!" A hint of a southern accent comes out with her nervousness, and she steps back, arms up. Slowly, she slips into an alley. And her form and figure begin to fade from sight, out of view, as she warps the light around her to turn invisible. "Oh, geez, you really did it now Chloe. You gotta' save that girl!" She talks to herself frantically as she tries to run back as quickly as possible.

Carin Taylor has posed:
The thug with the guns snorts as Glimmer disappears, though he keeps his arm around Carin's neck as she squirms. "Fuck, and of course we'd grab a fucking mutie..." he mutters, eyeing the teen's very pale skin. "You're coming with us till we're sure no other heroes wanna make a thing of this." he says, starting to drag her to the car where his blinded friend is.

Chloe Sharpe has posed:
Chloe Sharpe is not a trained martial artist. She is graceful, but in gymnastics, not combat. And while blessed with powers, while focusing them into keeping herself invisible, she's essentially just a shorter than average woman. Which doesn't stop her from trying to save you. With more surprise factor than skill, the invisible Glimmer seizes that arm holding the gun, practically tackling the arm back, twisting with all her weight to point it away from you. You'd hear, if not see her, shouting with a strained voice as she wrestles with the man, "Run!" She seems to have the gun handled, though as the thug starts to swing at the invisible young woman, soft grunts of pain can be heard.

Carin Taylor has posed:
The man curses as his arm is grabbed, the gun going off in the air, thankfully not aimed at anyone! Carin staggers free, blinking as she seems to come out of her frozen posture, blinking back towards the struggling pair, trembling a bit, then....

There's a blur as the armed thug suddenly loses his gun as it seems to come out of his hand and just fall apart, followed by him doubling over with a woof as Carin flickers back to normal speed, her foot firmly planted in his stomach as he gags and falls over.

Chloe Sharpe has posed:
Chloe Sharpe pants heavily, shifting back to her costumed form, the light warping around her as she faintly glows a moment. She clutches the side of her waist with one hand, wincing before she flashes you a warm smile, "Wow! Wasn't expecting that! You're really cool!" She beams at the young woman, then turns her gaze to the nearby robber, slowly regaining his sight. "Umm, I hate to be troublesome, but would you mind..." Her tone is almost casual, as if asking you to take down a robber is akin to asking you to pass a pencil.

Carin Taylor has posed:
@Emit
%Carin mmphs, frowning a bit at the guy on the ground then the guy who's still blinded, flushing a bit. "It's no big..." she says, walking over the car, then opening the door and stepping back as the robber flails, grabbing her arm as she jerks back, pulling him out of the car as he stumbles, then blurring again as he goes sprawling as she trips him up to land on his friend with a grunt. "You're a pain...." she says at the two, frowning.

Chloe Sharpe has posed:
Chloe Sharpe stares a moment, watching as the robber sprawls. She kicks the one who she wrestled with the gun for one more time, putting him on the ground firmly. Then, she rushes you. Arms extended. Blue eyes beaming behind that glittering domino mask. "That! Was so! Cool!" With your speed, it'd be easy to tell she's about to try to hug you. Her expression is elated, voice bubbly, that southern accent more pronounced as she drop the heroic act for a moment.

Carin Taylor has posed:
Carin blinks but doesn't resist the hug, though she does stiffen up like a cat being unexpectedly nabbed. "Uh...th-thanks..." she mumbles a bit shyly. "You should be careful, they might have just started shooting at you or somethin'. Just smack 'em all invisible an' sneaky like so they don't have anything to aim at." Her accent, by comparison, is more Chicagoland, if faint. "Um, we should probably go before the cops show up too..." A couple more brawny guys have run over to basically sit on the would be carjackers to keep them from going anywhere.

Chloe Sharpe has posed:
Chloe Sharpe blinks, peering back at the robbers, to make sure they're secured, "Yeah, probably for the best. I uh, don't exactly have a license for this!" She giggles in a way that reveals her youth. Turning invisible once more, her features fading from sight, she starts to accompany you as you leave the sight, speaking into your ear, "I'm Chloe! Oh, uh. I mean. Glimmer. Ya' didn't hear that first part."

Carin Taylor has posed:
"O-oh? Um, right. Didn't hear it." Carin offers, starting to move a bit away from the slight crowd, looking uncomfortable at the attention. "Uh, you can call me...um...well, Carin. But I had a codename. Velocity...' she admits after a moment of consideration, turning her head to whisper back in Chloe's ear. "Are you a real heroine?"

Chloe Sharpe has posed:
Chloe Sharpe offers a sound that can only be described as a squee when you offer your codename. You hear her hop a few times in excitement. "Velocity! That is such a cool name. And the thunderbolty thing! Is that a birthmark? Tattoo? Magical symbol?" Before she can bombard you with questions, you ask your own, and she clears her throat, "Oh, right, umm... well..." Her form shifts, that illusory leotard cladding her once more as her invisibility drops, "I'm... trying to be? I mean, umm, I really want to be. But I'm not like, with a team or anything. And I'm really new to this. Might call me an... enthusiast?" She offers a slightly shy smile, averting her gaze as her cheeks pinken a little.

Carin Taylor has posed:
Carin tilts her head a bit, blinking as she reaches up to run her finger self-consciously over the tattoo. "Um, it's a tattoo." she admits after a moment. "I mean, I don't think it's magical. It's never done anything magical." She watches Chloe shift in and out of costume, then admits. "...that's pretty cool. I couldn't do that. I mean, just...put myself out there like that. Fight crimes or whatevs..."

Chloe Sharpe has posed:
Chloe Sharpe grins, then motions with a hand towards the crime scene in the growing distance. "Really? Cause, I'm pretty sure you're better than me at this. Took those guys down in seconds. And I'm happy to help, but I don't think you needed me to save ya!" Glimmer taps her cheek, the skin there shimmering green as she put a little green version of the lightning bolt there. Amateurly, she shadow boxes at the air, making punch noises with her mouth. "Shoo, shoo! Like that!" She beams brightly, giggling.

Carin Taylor has posed:
The pale girl hunches her shoulders a bit in her slightly ratty hoodie. Up close, she looks like she definitely raided a thrift shop for her current outfit, slightly worn, ripped jeans and a Chicago Bears hoodie with the hood pulled up to somewhat hide her mussed red hair. "Uh...well..." she admits. "I don't like to fight much, y'know? I just....I'd rather just get away from stuff like that. But I guess I'm okay at fighting stuff." she says, belittling herself a bit. The beaming at least draws a shy smile from her. "Well, um, if ya say so...."

Chloe Sharpe has posed:
Chloe Sharpe nods slowly, seeming to finally notice your discomfort, "Hey, sorry, wasn't trying to push you. Just... well, seemed like you could do a lot of good. I know you helped me out a lot! So thank you!" She offers one of those disarmingly bright smiles again, expression simple and without guile. "In any case, I should probably stop keeping you from whatever you were doing. And, y'know, get back to the alley I undressed in before my bag disappears. But, uh... if you're interested... maybe we could hang out sometime? Train? Or just chill? I don't have any other super friends, and I've never met a girl my age with any abilities. No pressure, just... I'd like to get to know ya'."

Carin Taylor has posed:
"It's...it's okay." Carin says, pushing down her hood as she runs her fingers through her hair in a little nervous gesture. "You seem nice. I didn't want him to shoot you." She smiles a little bit. "So, um, welcome. No problem?" She tilts her head. "Well, uh...I can watch the alley while you change, at least?" she offers. "And I'm...not really going anywhere. I'm just...walking. Trying to, um, remember...um, put my thoughts...all together, y'know?"

Chloe Sharpe has posed:
Chloe Sharpe listens as you talk, frowning a little. She suddenly perks up, pointing to the alley she stormed from, "Right here! I'll take you up on your offer." She walks in, and the rustle of clothing can soon be heard. Calling from the alley, "So... do you like... have a home? Sorry if thats really personal, but..."

Carin Taylor has posed:
Carin takes position at one end of the alley to make sure no one wanders in unexpectedly, keeping her back turned politely. "Um...well...' she says slowly. "Not...really? This guy is helping me out, so I'm kinda staying at his place right now. But I don't, uh..." She rubs her head. "I kinda had something happen, and I don't really remember stuff. Home or...most anything really." She sighs. "It really fucking sucks."

Chloe Sharpe has posed:
Chloe Sharpe approaches less than a minute later, now minus her domino mask and that illusory costume. "Well... as long as you have a place to stay. But, umm... we should hang out sometime. If only to take your mind off the whole 'no memory' thing. Can make some good ones!" She offers her most reassuring smile, and offers her hand, "Chloe. Good to meetcha'."

Carin Taylor has posed:
Carin hesitates, then takes the offered hand, shaking firmly, her fingers a bit callused. "Carin. Carin Taylor. I, um, remember that much. And the Velocity thing." she admits sheepishly. "Sorry if it's weird an' stuff." She pauses, then says softly. "I'd like that though. Um, hanging out. If it's cool with you, I mean." she hastens to add.

Chloe Sharpe has posed:
Chloe Sharpe beams, "-Very- cool. Lets meet up soon, 'kay?" With that, she offers a quick hug, a wave, and heads on down the street."
