Troia Reporting In, or: I Wasn't Allowed to Tell Anyone, and YOU Get an Embassy
Date of Scene: 15 April 2020
Location: Diana's Office: Themysciran Embassy
Synopsis: Donna reports to Diana at the Themysciran embassy, only a couple of days later than intended. Raven attends, purely to torment Donna in front of her sister.
Cast of Characters: Donna Troy, Diana Prince, Rachel Roth

Donna Troy has posed:
Troia is two days late. However it's only fair to point out that this is a lot better than being three years late.

There had initially been some arguments with Queen Hippolyta, who was unhappy at the idea of both Troia and Diana being away from Themyscira at the same time. She probably thinks it's setting a bad example, and has been quite strict about how many Amazons should be out in the World of Men at any one time.

Nevertheless Troia had won the argument in the end, partly by pointing out that she had spent a lot of her life in America already and was hardly going to become any more corrupted than she was already, partly by explaining that there were things she had to resolve and she would never have the clear-minded focus a true Amazon warrior needed without that resolution, and partly through arguments that boiled down to stamping her feet.

Troia's journey back to America had not been direct. She took a little time to build up to it, and to practice her passion for photojournalism, taking a few months in Syria and the middle east before making her way across Europe and eventually to America via London, a detour that had nothing to do with the fact that you can't get direct flights to Metropolis from Athens and she wanted the excuse to pass Titans Tower on her way to the Embassy.

Which is where she is finally arriving, two days later than her luggage, which was sitting in an office somewhere, with a diplomatic seal still on it. It's a good way to import sharp swords into America. Hippolyta had made it clear to Troia that if she was going to return to America, she would have to help her sister out at the embassy. And report to her /straight away/, which would have been two days ago but for certain things intervening. One of those things being Raven, who has made it clear to Troia that she was going to accompany her to New York and it was pointless trying to argue.

This is Troia's first time to the embassy, and she really can't help but be impressed. The Themyscirans have obviously decided to make their mark now they are revealing themselves to the world. She feels slightly intimidated by the unfamiliar grandeur, and her announcement to the receptionist is rather low-key and informal as a result.

"Hi, can you tell Diana that Donna is here? I'm expected"

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana has been fairly busy today with a few appointments who have already come and gone. As Donna is entering and speaking to the foyer attendant, Diana is actually on her way down the staircase from the second level. She sees Donna and a smile appears on her red hued lips. Diana's hair is tied back into a bun on the crown of her head, she's wearing a black dress with long sleeves that go down to her wrists.

"Donna." Diana states to get the other's attention. "Welcome to the Embassy." Her heeled shoes click on the polished floor when she steps off of the last stair and starts to walk toward the other Amazonian. "I did not expect you to stop by, it's a pleasant surprise." She eyes the belongings that Donna had brought. "Are these staying here?" She asks. "I can have them sent up to your room if you would like?"

The Princess turns then toward the main hall. "Come, we will talk in my office." And she'll lead the other, should she follow, down that middle hallway toward her office at the far end of it.

Rachel Roth has posed:
Admittedly, they were some minutes later than they ought to have been. Raven had initiated a friendly, if violent, chase after Donna remarked she'd be two days late by responding to that with "Honestly, it's more like you're two years and three-hundred sixty three days early on your usual time table."

There was a little bit more Amazonian Strength in the punch to her bicep than Raven had anticipated, so vengeance had been delivered.

Raven looks altogether unlike anyone else in the Embassy. Knee-height boots, not exactly -chunky- but sporting no solid heel to them, leaving her only at her natural height. The gothic attire overall, she inhabits the area like some gloomy specter, following Donna along as if this is some form of oddly specific haunting. Whereas the mood within the Embassy is diplomatic and hopeful, Raven's nonplussed at neutral expression brings the average mood in the room down. Just how she likes it.

Sadly, she's more or less resigned herself to be altogether seen but not heard, at least for the moment. When Diana arrives, Raven's hands remain firmly in their associated pockets. She makes her way forwards, though, taking a position next to Donna and then just- subtly- leaning herself on the side of the Amazon. She doesn't have to make quips to make attempts to embarrass the woman.

Her head lands on Donna's shoulder, and stays there.

Donna Troy has posed:
Unlike Raven, Troia comes with heels. The reason for this is because she /knows/ Diana will, and she has a few inches to make up already. She's wearing black leather pants which while moderately stylish are not exactly ambassadorial, and a T-shirt that she may have bought on the way here.

"Diana!" Troia calls out happily, rushing over to join her adoptive sister. It's only been 24 hours since they last met, but that was only for ten minutes, and she isn't done being happy to see her big sister again yet.

"The bags? Oh. Actually I had them delivered here. It seemed a lot easier than having to explain to customs officers why I had a suit of armor and bladed weapons. Oh and it's okay to call me Troia in front of Rae. She knows. I told them all. I'll stick with Donna publically, but there's no need for you to call me that if you don't want."

Troia trots along beside Diana, somewhat awkwardly what with having a goth trying to use her shoulder as a pillow as they go. "I have a room here?" she asks in surprise. "I mean I have a room back at the Tower. I guess. I mean nobody has specifically said they want me back..." she glances to her side. "Well apart from Rae. But they haven't exactly said I'm not welcome either. Hippolyta said I have to help out, but I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do. "

Like Diana, Troia had gone through a lot of training in ritual, etiquette and diplomacy as well as fighting, but it was hardly the modern world's notion of diplomacy. Very little paperwork was involved.

When the enter Diana's office, Troia immediately starts wandering around examining books, artwork and furnishings. It's not that the palace in Themyscira isn't rather more impressive on such counts, but it's impressive in a much less modern way, and the interior of an embassy is something new to Troia.

"Is it all eating canapes with boring people and pretending they are interesting, Diana?" Troia asks, as she stands in front of Diana's armor, tracing a finger across the metal work. "I can do that."

Diana Prince has posed:
As they walk, Diana does indeed look over to the Raven herself and she offers the young goth a soft grin. "And how are you doing?" She asks of Donna's new cohort of the heart. "You two are the cutest, by the way." She says this and is quick to follow it up with a playful grin before she leads them both to her office.

The doors are parted and Diana steps within it. She instantly starts to her right where there is a drink bar in the corner that she can prepare beverages at. At Donna she laughs softly. "There is a lot of networking, yes. It is not /all so bad/ though. Some of it is delightful in fact. Though... I have basically been doing this for the past century, only now it is on a different level. More public, higher expectations and people know more about me prior to our meetings. I do miss that part how it was before... having a bit less information on me out there. But, those days are over now."

Diana motions to the glasses on the bar. "Would you two like anything to drink? We have just about everything." She smiles again.

"And yes, Troia, you have a room here. Of course you do. As does Cassie and now a new comer. America Chavez. She is an intersting one... you both should meet her. She might fit in well with the Titans too, for that matter."

Rachel Roth has posed:
"Recovering." she lies, "There was an incident, in which Troia was especially helpful. I've been told it was like if Sleeping Beauty was sloppy." She remarks, before looking up towards Donna's face. "You see? She said we were cute. Your may cry your tears of joy."

Regardless, Raven detaches once they enter the office. This is Donna's meeting, despite Diana's willingness to have company. "I apologize for my intrusion. I am here to provide backup for Troia if she encounters anything she can't handle alone. Like making travel plans, or sending a letter to her friends, or calling on the weekends. You know, insurmountable challenges." The tone isn't -cold- but her ribbing is harsh in that playful sense.

She makes her way to the bookcase. Her eyes slither over the titles, and there's this distinct air of... It is not that she's not -impressed-, but more that she's apparently, discernable in her attitude, read the whole of the selection. Even titles that should be, logically, impossible for her to have read. That might be a question for another time.

Donna Troy has posed:
Donna reddens slightly when Diana calls them 'the cutest', which of course Diana knew she would. The redness only increases with Raven's heckling. Diana can also tell that Donna is happy, but is also finding the whole thing with Raven just a touch overwhelming, and that everything seems to be happening /very fast/ and in unexpected ways. And that she knows that Raven knows she feels that, and that she knows that Raven is enjoying playing up to it to torment her.

Everyone's tormenting Donna. It's so unfair.

"Do you have Coke?" Donna asks, her interest in the armor replaced suddenly with an interest in the bar. The perils of spending her latter teen years in America - Themyscira is sorely lacking in Coke, and she had been missing it badly. She trots over to join Diana at the bar, casually inflicting another punch to Raven's bicep of slightly greater than anticipated Amazonian strength. Raven absolutely deserves it, but will no doubt make her pay for it soon enough. "How about you, Rae? Coffee?"

"A new potential then?" Donna asks Diana, her interest piqued by talk of Miss America Chavez. If Diana thinks she's got what it takes to be a Titan, Donna's not going to argue. "Okay, I'll take her over to the Tower some time soon. Now it seems that they... we..." she glances to Rae, the lingering uncertainty of her current Titan status driving her to make sure she's including the more consistent member of the team. "...are recruiting. The new guys seem to be really good. Better than we were at their age, I think. How's Cassie doing? I was hoping she'd be here today."

Diana Prince has posed:
As Raven moves down the line of bookshelves, she'll come to the alcove that the famous Eagle Armor of Wonder Woman is currently residing within - on display and illuminated from above by small light fixtures. The armor gleams beneath the light with sword and shield mounted within the alcove as well, and on th leather harness that is wrapped around a black bust that wears the armor, the golden lasso of Truth shines as well.

"Cofee and Coke." Diana says with a sly grin as she kneels down to open a small cabinet from which she pulls out a glass bottle of Coca Cola. "From Mexico." Diana says as she offers it to Donna. "It is extra sweet with much more natural ingredients than what they make in the United States." Not really her thing, but she understand the appeal.

"Raven?" Diana asks, motioning then to a pot of coffee. "I made this not but a small time ago." She starts to prepare her a cup whether she likes it or not!

"Cassie has been busy, she brought a young woman in from Gotham named Phoebe Beacon that has been trying extra hard to make Gotham a little bit better herself in her own ways. The two have been training here and there with Galatea and Adrastea." Two other Amazon warrior women who are here at the Embassy.

"I hope you can connect with her soon as well." The Princess then says before smiling to one of them, then the other. "Everyone I briefly met at the tower seemed very nice."

Rachel Roth has posed:
There's a short glance that she spares to the eagle armor. It... Wasn't as glamorous, to her, in person as others had made it seem, and as with most polished metal, the light hitting it right could blind quicker than watching an Abrams film- Sure, it's impressive. The thing is a work of art, perhaps more than it is armor... But she prefers when Diana -isn't- wearing it.

"You're not going to get one of these, right?" she comments, "It's just that when the sun enters the room and hits it just right, I'm not sure it wouldn't bring down a jet." she comments, turning from the armor to the room proper. She hadn't a chance to object before she was being served coffee- Raven tends to... Purchase weird, proprietary blends that you have to spend an obnoxious amount of effort preparing. Being offered coffee is always awkward.

"We'll have to introduce them to Nightwing." Turning to Donna, then. "Any prospects are good. The older set are going to- we're probably going to have our own things to handle. Now that we're experienced enough, we'll end up filling the mentor roles and taking on the more difficult things that come our way. We'll have to reopen some lines of communication."

Donna Troy has posed:
Donna totally has cool armor too. It was, in her Troia of the Titans days, even somewhat iconic. It's also thoroughly outshone by Diana's Eagle armor, both figuratively and literally. Donna's is silver and black, made out of perfectly normal metals no more enchanted than typical Themysciran metalwork, and unlikely to blind passing pilots.

"The new Titans do seem nice," Donna agrees with a smile. "And I think you have one or two fans there, Diana. The one you gave your cloak to, Terry. He was... overcome... by your generosity." She gives Raven a knowing grin. Clearly some manner of mischief had been perpetrated there.

"I wish I had a chance to get to know them better already. Everything happened so fast. I had been in the tower less than a minute when the first emergency occurred. They rallied around magnificently, and they did not hesitate to risk their lives to help one they had never met. It touched me deeply. There is yet a chance for the World of Men to find such people in it, so young. They have the hearts of Amazons."

Donna takes the bottle of Coke from Diana with a smile of thanks, and removes the cap easily with her bare hand, because Amazons are terrible show-offs like that. She gestures with the bottle towards Diana's desk, where there's a certain amount of paperwork to be done. "Whether talking to boring people or doing paperwork, I am charged to aid you as you see fit, by our mother the Queen. Just let me know. I have a new phone, I shall leave the number with the front desk. Caitlin rebooted the Tower systems, so if I am there you will easily be able to contact me that way too."

While Diana preceded her to the world beyond, Donna is the first Amazon to have spent part of her teen years in the modern world, and it sometimes shows in a rather unique mix of Themiscyran formality and American casualness.

Donna takes a drink of the coke, then looks at the bottle curiously and tried it again. "Yes, it is a little different. I think I like it more."

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana gathers up a glass of tea for herself before she moves around from the drink bar to step past the furniture and go to her desk on the other side of it. The natural light from the windows behind her desk illuminate its surface in a warm and sunny glow. She looks up across the room to her offer and she grins at Raven. "I have yet to down any planes with the gleam of my armor. But, there is always the future. We shall see. Hopefully not though... unless they are bad planes."

Diana pulls her desk chair out and lowers down on to the edge of it before she sets her tea cup on to a coaster to the right side of her somewhat cluttered desk, her eyes sweep over it. "You are doing precisely what I need you to be doing, Troia." Diana tells her young sister, her eyes raising up to the girl's own. "Helping your friends and preparing for the troubles that the Titans might come to face. That is what I need, help with the ills of the world. It is those ills that finally brought me in to the public light after all, and now that I am here? I am hoping to get help. It has not been easy without Superman. It has been three years of the world craving its most famous super hero. Many are stepping up, but more are always needed."

Diana then takes up her cup of tea and sips it once. "You should bring Terry by. Perhaps we can find more ways to surprise him. I do like meeting those who are such staunch supporters of Themyscira. I love to watch their eyes light up." She shows a hint of a playful grin then. Please do shove Caitlin back this way some time too. It has been far too long since I got to speak to her."

Rachel Roth has posed:
There's momentary hesitation when she's offered the cup. She just sort of looks at it, for a long time, before picking it up and bringing the rim to her black-painted lips. Glory be to magical cosmetics, as she doesn't leave a impression when she finishes that first sip. Regardless of the quality of Diana's choice in bean, Raven does not recoil in horror.

She merely sips, taking in the liquid as if the heat weren't a problem, because it isn't. One hand slips free of her pockets to give the bicep of the arm holding the coffee a short rub. Donna had very much made sure to hit her in the same spot. It's somewhat belated, but she does speak.

"Careful with your vengeance, Troia. What will the others think? We are only so lucky that I wear a high collar."

At that, she sips again at her coffee, staring over its rim at Donna. Her blank expression only makes her comments that much more potent. It's no wonder most of the others are terrified.

"We made sure that he was comfortable after he fainted. Set him down on a bed." A bed. Not -his- bed. A bed.

    "It was Troia's idea."

    Sip.

Donna Troy has posed:
Donna has stood duty at the Doom Gate and faced the Things that live beyond that dread portal. Raven's expressionless taunting is only marginally less terrifying, but Donna is used to such terrors.

The innuendo, not so much. Certainly not when it's in front of her beloved sister who she admires so much, and let us be clear, /should not be hearing these comments/. There are times when Donna would indeed prefer to face the beasts of Tarterus. She sips her coke, studiously avoiding Raven's gaze.

Donna takes a seat opposite Diana, and makes herself comfortable in the chair, bottle of coke kept in her hand. She smiles wide at the suggestion of bringing Caitlin and Terry along. "Certainly, I will do that. It was so good to see Caitlin again."

Of course Caitlin was the one Titan Donna was confident she wouldn't get a negative reaction from when she made her reappearance. That confidence hadn't been there the first time she met Caitlin after Doomsday, when Caitlin had visited Themyscira. Diana would remember how nervous Donna had been back then.

Donna takes another swig of her coke and leans forwards, elbows on knees. "Yes. The Justice League. They lost Superman, but they gained you. I am disappointed that they seem to feel that the one does not make up for the other, but I suppose in this world they find it easier to see the strength in a man than in a woman." You can take the Amazon out of Themyscira, but you can't take Themyscira out of the Amazon.

"As I have heard it, the team is not very active any more. Is there a solution to this? Perhaps they can do as the Titans are doing. "

The smile on Donna's face grows slightly mischievous. "Of course with such impressive newcomers, that may not be necessary. I have the feeling that the Titans are about to become quite a force."

"Very well, sister. If you do not need me to talk to boring people straight away, I shall return to the tower now and try to help them get things sorted out there. I suspect there is much to do. Please remember that I can be here very quickly, it is not so long to commute. When you call me, I will be here for you."

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana holds that light little grin at what Raven says of TErry too before her eyes go back to Donna. She affords Donna a much softer expression with regard to the Justice League and Superman. "To be fair--" Diana starts. "I have not ever tried to lead the Justice League after Superman's passing. So I do not think it was a matter of my gender versus his. It was a matter of the Justice League being his creation, not mine, and I did not feel it was my place to suddenly step up and command it, and its members. We are all still in contact with one another and we do meet from time to time, but my place is here in Manhattan right now and that is why I am more directly associated with the Avengers."

She sips her tea once more before she sets it aside. "But yes, what I really need from you, Troia is your continued assistance with the young heroes of the world. I need you to take what training you have learned and pass it on to others so that they may benefit from that education as well. There are many out there, seeking guidance and direction. You can excel in helping lead them at this stage of your life." She pauses briefly then as she folds her hands together at the edge of her desk.

"I have said similar things to Cassie, and in an ideal world I would see you both working together to achieve this." She glances over to Raven then. "With your help as well, of course." And then back to Donna. "With all of the Titans."
