Date of Scene: 13 September 2022
Location: Spyscape Museum
Synopsis: Kaida sees a ghost while Raven, Damian and Jon make sure that everyone is safe from a deadman walking's bombs. While there was no danger from bombs, danger certainly passed through a certain Spy Museum.
Cast of Characters: Kaida Connolly, Jon Kent, Naria Shepard, Damian Wayne

Kaida Connolly has posed:
For some, this place might simply be attractive as it is Story Monday. The private Museum is not as cheap as some museums but it is reasonably priced and more so on Story Mondays, when you get a book with your ticket and experience. This week is "The Killing Code."

However, that is not why Kaida was heading here. She had gotten a message via the homeless she knows. Ernie was in trouble.

In the museum, a homeless man was walking with a man who has on some thick, horn rimmed glasses. A simple sweater over a button up and slacks completes the middle aged man's look

The man, presumably Ernie, is in a thick trench coat with boots, a thick tangled beard with hair that is as tangled completes the man's look. He looks nervous.

"Now now, Ernie. You don't need to worry too much. If things go as I want, then you'll be able to just walk out of here with a little bit of money. Of course, if she doesn't show?" The man casually adjusts a ring on his finger and something under Ernie's coat beeps quietly and the old man with the greying beard stiffens.

"You'll regret this. She always makes the guys who mess with us hurt. You'll be no different." The old man nods, gripping at a tattered hat in his hand even as his eye starts to glisten a little.

Meanwhile, someone who would put many spies of history to shame slips into the museum and sniffs the air. She frowns deeply and starts moving toward a familiar scent, sneaking toward the location of Ernie.

The man with the horn rimmed glasses pauses with Ernie and touches his watch with a grin.

Jon Kent has posed:
For Jon, this was an educational experience. Even though the museum is still there in his time, he has never actually had a chance to visit it. He was curious about the James Bond exhibition in particular, and he experiences a slight disappointment when he remembers that, by this time, Lashana Lynch has not yet gotten the role for the next four or so movies so there was nothing about her in it. Still, it is interesting, and the Aston Martin was cool, as well as the previously-unseen footage and schematics.

For now, he is wandering around the museum to decompress, hands in his hoodie pockets, and he is seriously considering taking one of the tests just to see what kind of role he would be assigned. Just call him Kent- Jon Kent.

He chuckles a little and pushes his glasses back up against the bridge of his nose. It wasn't like he didn't already know how to slip under the radar, in some respects...

Naria Shepard has posed:
Educational? A distraction? Some time to enjoy herself before she got out and about? Whatever brought Rave here? She was here. After all, spies were cool...and there was absolutely no way that the bluenette could ever be one given that her hair and eyes were always glowing a bright neon blue that marked her as a metahuman or mutant. She was a 'outed meta' after all!

Following along the painfully slow group, she too was moving through and staring at some of the neat stuff. All these gadets and fancy suits...Rave didn't even have a 'super suit' for her heroics!

Damian Wayne has posed:
Damian Wayne was enjoying the museum for different reasons, any type of op where he had to go undercover was something he missed dearly.

The old man in the museum wandered around looking at different exhibits, blending in as much as he could while maneuvering his way through the exhibits to get to Ernie and the man in Horn Rimmed Glasses.

The wrinkled man stopped by the briefcase from From Russia With Love, talking to himself. "Coins are alright, but you would think they'd want to use bills instead, you can have much more in a thinner space that way. But I always liked that booby trap they used." <In position.> he added on sub-vocal comms to his fellow Titan.

Kaida Connolly has posed:
"She's here." The man says calmly to the poor homeless guy who looks suddenly a bit hopeful even as Kaida slips on to the top of a display that has several masks inside of it. She looks down at the various people here only to focus on the homeless man and she mouths out 'Ernie' before frowning.

<I see-> She's interrupted before she can respond to Damian when the old man calls out suddenly and steps back from the man next to him.

"It's a trap! A trap!" And the man with glasses frowns and pushes down on the bottom of his ring and Ernie lets out a stifled cry and his body goes stiff. The man with the glasses quickly grabs the poor old man and sits him down casually on to a bench and shakes his head.

"False alarm everyone! Fals alarm, just my dear friend having a bit of a fit, I got him." And he adjusts his ring casually again and the beeping gets a little louder as he smirks and shakes his head, "Bad move, Ernie. Now, if I am hearing things correctly, you can come out, little one. If you want your friend to survive."

Kaida's eyes go wide as she hears the beeping and stares at the tasered Ernie who now sits twitching and pained on the bench, holding tightly to his side.

<I can hear beeping. I think he has a bomb on him.> Kaida relays to Damian. Without further ado, and while it might draw the wrong kind of attention, Kaida leaps from her spot right on to the end of the bench, glaring at the man with the horn rimmed glasses and he simply looks her way with a grin. Kaida then goes stiff, staring. She blinks slowly as she realizes who the man is.

"Dr. Wilson..."

Naria Shepard has posed:
Damian's comment has her looking over her shoulder, the young woman raising her eyebrow. "I mean, I kinda loved the idea of the spy watches in the later films," she comments absently. Of course, Rave might be a member of the Birds, but that didn't mean she knew Damian -or- that anything was going down tonight. Even if the others might recognize the neon bluenette.

And sudden screaming from the old man has her looking away from the display before she turns and folds her arms under her bust, blinking a little more. Okay just a fit? I mean it could be legit and...nope, that's a tazer, that's a beeping, a frown from the speedster whose eyes are already sweeping the room.

Dealing with bombs was something she could do, but to be able to rush an explosive out of the room or bystanders away? You had to know where everyone was standing and your exits. Otherwise that was a good way to accidently hit someone against something a hyperspeeds....not pretty.

Jon Kent has posed:
Jon, as a casual ally of the Titans, doesn't have a comm yet, so he isn't privy to the sting operation going on right now. However, he does have super-hearing, and although he usually does what his father tells him to do and blocks out most of what goes on, when the homeless man has an outburst and then gets pulled over by the other man, his senses go on alert.

He doesn't quite listen to the conversation much, at first, because his ears are busy with the beep-beep-beep. It can mean several things, but it also often does mean a bomb, and that is not good.

The teenager walks closer to the two men in a meandering, 'disaffected teen' walk sort of way- not seemingly having a directional purpose, but still managing to get closer. He could easily duck out unseen and come back in costume- but that would be the wrong thing to do, alarming a potential bomber. Best to get close and try to assess the threat with super-senses first, in order to ascertain the proper plan of action, right?

When Kaida emerges, Jon begins to regret not having asked for a comm the last time he was at the tower, because he catches the tail end of some communication going on. It would have been great if he had had his own comm and potentially coordinated.

He kicks himself mentally, and makes a mental note to himself. Stop by the tower, ask if they'll let him have a comm. They can trust Superboy, right?

Damian Wayne has posed:
"Ohhh, yes...those were very interesting. I even heard the one in Die Another Day was a real thing, y-you know, the kne that turns off cameras. Oh that was the bee's knees." Old Man Damian comments to Rave while keeping abreast of the situation.

The news of a bomb wasn't very good, but he did know what would clear bystanders out quickly...if it would only work. <Find the detonator.> He adds in, his left hand clasping together and rhythmically tapping out an SOS to the NYPD via Batcomputer.

  <Holding position...he thinks you're alone...>

Kaida Connolly has posed:
"Yes, very good, Kaida." He states even as he stands there, casually keeping his thumb over his ring on his hand. He looks at her with a shake of his head, "Hubris, Kaida. Hubris made me not even think about the missing intern." He states simply enough, "But now I see you and I knew I was right." He chuckles and then sighs.

"Honestly, I haven't the time, Kaida. I really don't." Kaida stares at him, blinking at the words he is saying.

"What? What do you mean? What is this about?" She points at him and looks around, noticing the attention and she steps closer to him, "Tell me what..." And the man shakes his head and lets out a clicking sound before he simply drops something.

"No time, Kaida." And then Kaida screams and everyone can hear the little mouse screaming and holding her ears. The reason? Well, Jon would likely know but others might not. The noise is not audible to humans but is insanely loud. The man turns and walks away, even as he does, he looks right at the old man that is Damian and he smirks at him, "I recommend changing your frequency and keep in mind, there's more than one bomb." And he keeps walking for the exit, even as he does, he drops something else casually and this time the noise is audible to everyone, along with smoke and stench.

The guests and employees start to run, holding their ears and screaming. Suddenly, the museum is awash with noise, smoke, and a terrible smell that could be mistaken for a skunk rolling in garbage.

Naria Shepard has posed:
Generally Rave was used to drawing the eye because she was glowing, a minor music celebrity...but it was fair enough to fade into the background when there's a talking mouse! Make that a screaming mouse! Of course, Rave -could- give chase after the badguy, but the decision she'd have to make?

Bombs or badguys? Well, she'd have to keep the civillians safe.

She didn't have the com either, or at least, not a titan one and it was doubtful they were broadcasting to the Birds of Prey frequency. She had no idea if there was anyone other than the mouse here ready to help!

Jon Kent has posed:
The thing about having super-senses? It's that certain things can be overwhelming. Especially if you haven't had enough practice in isolating things. Jon's old man wouldn't have been phased by the stench... in fact, he could simply just choose not to breathe for a while. Like, a /really/ long while. In hindsight, Jon probably would have done the same thing, if the sound assault hadn't gotten him first. It isn't painful to him so much as it is incredibly distracting, and when the wave of stench hits him, he gags and almost horks.

It takes a few seconds to regain his composure and remember to simply hold his breath- he's half-Kryptonian, he can hold it for a while. Not as long as Dad can, but it's still far longer than a regular human would. Once the gagging subsides, he gets enough presence of mind to try to locate the device that's emitting the higher-frequency noise through his senses and blast it with a good dose of eyebeams. The louder one gets a second blast. Fzzzt.

He uses the cover of the smoke to change quickly, then he expels the air in his lungs- but gently, since there are people here- in order to move part of the smoke away from him to reveal Superboy. If he can see the smoke bomb, that's going to get another blast from him. Annoying little s----

"Make sure people get out!" he calls out, his voice sounding like he just swallowed brillo pads, "There's more than one bomb- I can try to find them..." he says, sweeping his head around, trying to focus enough to activate his ability to see through objects, "But we'll need to do this as a team." He isn't quite certain that, at the moment, he's got the focus to move at super-speed, his head is still swimming from dealing with that sensory overload. If he manages to find the explosives hidden in the area, he is going to start calling out the locations and move toward the closest one.

Then, he remembers, "I... uh... don't know how to disarm a bomb. Anyone here..." he waves his hand in front of his face, pushing away a final stray puff of skunk-smoke, "Knows how?"

Damian Wayne has posed:
Damian's old man eyes flare wide open at how thw jig is up, immediately tugging off the advanced mask made for him, the face of the old man going away, and leaving Robin's domino mask behind.

The sonic insult much outside the bounds of human hearing was in this case, a blessing as he was able to receive information back from the Batcomputer. >tt< "Got to change the tech." He comments, before reaching up to his mask, looking for items giving off EM frequencies that shouldn't.

He had managed to bring with him a small assortment of tools, including a mini-rebreather. Though he doesn't follow Jon in the super-speed department, he does manage to get there as Superboy asks who can disarm a bomb. Pliars and micro-sscissors donned, along with the Bat-Tech mask should be enough for most bomber's bounties.

Since his rebreather fit into his mouth with a mouth-guard type fitting, it wasn't conducive to much talking, so he focused on the bomb, breathing in through the piece, and out from his nose to keep any offending chemicals out as best as he could.

Kaida Connolly has posed:
Thanks to the actions of Rave, the civilians are able to find their way outside and away from potential bombs. The problem? Is as Damian is able to find the bombs with his tech and gather them up, it becomes clear quickly that none of the bombs, not even the one on poor Ernie were lethal. They were all fakes made to look incredibly real. There's even traces of the right chemicals to fool a nose or a detector.

"That was Dr. Wilson." Kaida says to no one in particular as she shakily makes it to her feet and looks to Ernie and then past him to where the man was before she shivers a little, "I thought he was dead." She sits back down with a flop, still disoriented from all the various inputs and seeing someone she thought was a ghost.

Elsewhere, the man known as Dr. Wilson casually reaches up and touches the side of his face, frowning deeply as he feels through the hardlight mask at the face underneath before he looks back in the direction of the museum, scanning the area and then he steps down an alleyway, into a shadow and he's simply gone, as if he were never there in the first place.
