Date of Scene: 02 November 2022
Location: Hell's Kitchen
Synopsis: The mystery of who took Wade's money is solved.
Cast of Characters: Wade Wilson, Harley Quinn, Jessica Drew

Wade Wilson has posed:
Late at night in the depths of Manhattan, or perhaps more accurate to say in the boundaries of Hell's Kitchen, there is no shortage of evil. Despite the efforts of heroes and vigilantes there is still the evil talons of organized crime that do their evil work upon society! Rampant throughout the old neighborhood, from small time hoods running numbers and selling drugs all the way up to weaponry and human trafficking, it is a veritable river of wickedness that only a hearty few stand against. It takes men of strong conviction, determined bravery, and staunch conviction to focus on the greater good.
Wade Wilson is no such man.
For though he stands upon a wretched hive of scum and villainy, his actions are less to stop their perfidy and more to shout about it.
    Across the whole neighborhood.
While standing on the third story rooftop of a building that had been known to house a Yakuza gambling operation.
    "Hey! Hey you! Lady!"
The masked mercenary /leeeeaned/ over the edge of the building, "Did you know there's a secret Yakuza high stakes poker game here? It's true!"
The elderly woman looks up at the man with the mask and seems to shiver in confusion before she quickly picks up the pace.
"You should call the police or something! I'm worried something bad might happen."
A glance over his shoulder is given, then he yells back down. "Soon!"

Harley Quinn has posed:
Do you know what a clownette needs after a harrowing experience where she had to fight against her own demons and came out on top?

A good ol' high stakes poker game! And Harley had juuuust heard about this high stakes thing happening in Hell's Kitchen (lovely neighborhood btw) and so what did she do? Drove there on her yellow jag of course. As for her dress-up? She went deep through April's wardrobe. It means there's a lot of yellow, including the petite yellow jacket she is wearing along with the crop t-shirt underneath. Leather pants frame her legs and those ever present all-star sneakers do the rest. On her eyes? A pair of round sunglasses. For BLUFFING!

Car stops not too far on where Deadpool is making his rounds and she jumps out. "Aahhhhh, time to win biiig..." she stretches and makes her way to the door, whistlin' like a villin.

Jessica Drew has posed:
The watch on the building housing the yakuza had been very hush-hush. Listening stations had been manned with very elaborate rotations of personnel to keep from drawing attention to new agents being posted. Quiet, and sleepy, one of those jobs that underline just how boring espionage can get. Of course, it's not all high-speed chase scenes. Right?

Jess as a senior agent, gets to check in on the juniors. Got to let them know what a valuable job they are doing, drinking half their salary in Starbucks takeout coffee.

Kind-hearted she's arrived with an order that will fuel the night. Her arrival has set the place in motion, hiding pillows and a pack of cards.

Pretending she doesn't see, "At ease, you two. Anything happening tonight?"

"Nothing, ma'am," comes the prompt response from Erin, the youngest junior in SHIELD.

John, the other agent, starts to wave a hand frantically, the other clapped to his headphones.

"Ma'am we've got something weird."

On the monitor, complete with sound the three agents watch a man gesticulating on the rooftop. Jess listens for all of four seconds.

"Don't do a thing. I'll be back," she cautions and is out the door.

Not two minutes pass, and the black silhouette of a woman in tactical gear climbs over the parapet where the man is shouting.

"Hey, hey. You!" she calls loud enough to be heard.

Wade Wilson has posed:
And then there's that voice from up on the roof, accompanied by a red and black mask with those white eyelets peering over the side and calling out toward Harley, "Hey! Hey! Jennifer Tilly! Don't go in there!"
He leans forward almost flipping forward off the roof, "It's against the law!" As he almost flips over he calls out, "It's the Yakuza, super deadly, very dangerous! What's worse, they don't pay their debts!"
Of course that's the moment when Jessica Drew makes her appearance, calling out the proper greeting of a 'Hey You!' in his direction. Which has him straightening up abruptly and turning to face her. He lifts a hand.
"What? Hey. Scram. I got here first. I totally have dibs on this roof. Go..." He gestures with one hand to the side, "Go hit up the Donut shop on 34th. I saw Kingpin go in there."
Though while this is going on there's the sound of footsteps stomping up the steps from the doorway that leads to the stairwell.

Harley Quinn has posed:
There's a pause when someone seems to be talking her way. Or is it to Jennifer Tilly? Harley lowers her sunglasses a moment and squints those baby blue eyes to take stock on who's up there. "Hey, it's DeePee! What are you doing out heah?" then she pshawwing as if Wade was telling a joke. "It's Hell's Kitchen, and besides I got a lotta money to earn in theah.." oh yes, Harley can already feel it. Or smell it. Something. It might just be Hell's Kitchen smelling like crap..

"Wait, these guys owin' you now?" That brings a frown out of the clownette and she lifts the sleeves on her little jacket up, pale arms in sight.

"I will be up theah in a jiffy and you can tell me all about that.." and she does just that, by hopping up a large neon sign with one hand, turning upside down with legs upright before propelling herself up to stand up on the large sign. Impeccable balance too, like a ballerina. She walks along the edge a moment and then jumps again, holding to the side of the ledge of the building and finally brings herself up. "Hey, she doesn't look like a Yakuza goon, what's going on heah?" she opens her arms to the sides, looking between Jessica and Wade. And standing right in front of that door that leads down with her back to it. Oblivious to the sounds coming from down there.

Jessica Drew has posed:
After settling her brimmed cap more firmly on her head, Jessica Drew, senior SHIELD agent, walks across the rooftop, shaking her head in utter disbelief. "Nope, you're on my turf." The New York jargon is at complete odds with her English accent. No, more at odds than the svelte form the tactical gear reveals or the serious look in the green eyes boring him is.

Gesturing with a thumb for him to get off the roof, "I'm sure we got here first, and you're going to ruin surveillance. So, may I suggest," her British politeness has started to kick in, "that you decamp, leave and get out of here quietly before you get notice from the ones downstairs?"

Her mouth drops open when a pale-faced woman flips over the side of the roof to join them. "Out, both of you, unless you're plain suicidal."

She points a finger at them both. Super hearing brings her the sounds of several heavy-footed people climbing the stairs. A chill up her back tells the mutant agent that these are not friends coming up to shoot the breeze.

"We've got company calling."

Wade Wilson has posed:
"Whaaaaa?" Deadpool's voice goes an octave or two up as he looks over the side now, totally /ignoring/ Jess for the moment as he looks down at Harley. But when Jess starts to talk he holds up that hand and says, "Bzzzt, bzzt! SHH! SHH. No talky. One sec."
Then it's back to yelling at Harley. "Is that the Harl to the Quinn to the what up girl?"
"Oh my god girlfriend, you do not know what has gone down!" He points in Jess' direction, "No idea who that is, other than she's hot. But!" He spins around and gestures with one gloved hand to the side, the other resting on his belt with its almost absurd amount of pouches.
"This guy, Phil. He hired me to help him get this guy off his back. So I did. Thing is he stiffs me, so I go after him and find him when this ninja babe shows up to tell me that the Yakuza need the guy, he owes them money too. And me, being all, you know. Heartfelt and understanding, I let her take him. Not because she had the most amazing legs I've ever seen. Still."
Then he spreads his arms wide, "But they stiffed me, no money, no thanks, not even a 'Gee Deadpool, you're so nice, thanks for helping us get ours back. Now fuck off.'"
There's a pause as he looks at Jess then, then the door to the stairs. "So yeah."
And that's when the door bursts open as armed men barrel out!
"Time to make the donuts." Swords slice from Wade's sheathes with a loud /SHING!/

Harley Quinn has posed:
"What is this ...? A roof-off?" Harley comments at how one and the other seem to be wanting to claim this roof for themselves. She wrinkles her nose, hands on her hips. "Just no one pee in the corners, tyvm.." a roll of her eyes given. "And I agree, she's hot." this about Jess. ".. but she also sounds like a cop. Soooo, she gets a few more points on the hot scale!"

"And okay, so got it. Ninjas, yakuza, legs. Babes. It sounds to me you are givin' us a bs story. You sure you didn't dream it up. Because it really sounds like you dreamt it up.." she is nodding as if she knew DeePee way too well.

All until that shadow of someone behind her appears. And the sound of weapons being drawn. Welp...

A shrug out of the clownette.

And then she spins all of a sudden, vicious roundhouse spinkick that hits one of the thugs right in the kisser and sends him flying against the side of the roof in a how-the-heck-did-that-clownette-get-all-that-strength kind of way.

She smirks all the way until she spots the pistols and smgs. "Hol' up, why are these guys bringing SMGs to a roof fight?!" and then she is diving for cover, pigtails flaring wildly!

Jessica Drew has posed:
All the effort to clean up her language to a level befitting a senior agent (they have an example to set) goes down the drain in a hot second, "What the fuck? I'll show you hot, you..."

Armed men interrupt the dressing down. Alright, she is carrying, nothing lethal, of course. SHIELD doesn't indiscriminately kill (if they can help it) so she left the P-90 at home. But, she is a weapon herself. Utter disbelief flashes across her face at the sword glinting neon in the city lights, "Drop it, you idiot." She is not addressing the Yakuza.

The woman's roundhouse kick impresses Jess who doesn't stop to compliment her on her form. Jess fires the ICER twice into the second man before swiveling the gun to the one behind him and pulling the trigger.

Wade Wilson has posed:
Curiously enough Wade responds to Harleen with a casual, "I... don't think I did." Which might seem like he ponders for a little bit that maybe he did? But no no, he definitely comes down on the side of this being realsies. Though he does look across at Jess, "Hey, nothing wrong with the hawtness."
Of course any further conjecture is cut off when the lead thug steps forward, pointing with one hand as he's starting to say something, "What is the...!" Only for Harley's boot to /thump/ right into his jaw and send him careening backward...
And it might well say something about his place in the organization that none of the other Yakuza move to stop him from falling back into the stairwell... and then down. And down. Thumping trundling rolling. Thubba-thubba-thump, then flipping over the hand rail and...
"AHHH!" heard as that kicked thug falls a few floors down...
Which has Wade looking sidelong, "Dang, Harleen. That was cold."
Though whatever hesitation the Yakuza had, it is broken now as they bring their weapons up and take aim! Even as Wade calls out.
    "Toshiro!"
"Wade why do you do this!"
There's the snap hiss sizzle of the Icer firing into the second, causing the man to suddenly lock as if his entire body went taut, then thump to the ground, even as Agent Drew is shifting aim.
    "You guys stiffed me!"
    "We did no such thing!"
"You totally stiffed me! So I'm here to make my money back." Then his voice deepens, "In /blooood/ if I must."
There's another snap hiss of Jess' weapon firing and her next target is knocked back into the door and thumps down, suddenly sprawled out even while Wade menaces the others with a sword pointing. Only four left, and Toshiro.

Harley Quinn has posed:
Dodging and skidding across the rooftop Harley finds cover behind a vent. No shots come her way at least. Good! So she peeks over to see Agent Hawtness shooting down two of the yakuzas. And then Harley looks suspiciously at Wade, then at Toshiro. Something's fishy here. "Something's fishy heah!" it's just that nose she has for DeePee shenanigans.

"What the heck is goin' on heah, and you two seem like you know each other. The kinda o' knowin' that sorta tells me you have been workin' togetha on something. So ..., someone has to come clean.."

There's a bit of a pause and then she finally asks.

"Also, is that high stakes game still going on downstairs?" Harley has her priorities okay? Not getting her ass shot is number one. Second one is to gain a lot of money tonight. But her chances of it are looking dreadfully low now. Ah well!

Jessica Drew has posed:
A criminal dropping into a faint is not as viscerally satisfying as a criminal thumpa-thumping down the stairs. But, if it works, don't knock it.

The conversation between DeePee and the remaining Yakuza leaves Jess wondering who she should be firing on.

Finger pressed to the com bud in her ear, the agent asks in a low voice to the surveillance team, "You getting this? Don't call in backup. Find out who these jokers are ASAP."

Gun still trained on the Yakuza; Jess watches Harley skitter out of the way. Smart girl and not half-bad herself. This idiot with the sword though - almost her gun wavers in his direction.

Wade Wilson has posed:
Indeed, it does seem Toshiro is trying not to open fire even as he shoots a glower at Jessica and shouts, "Hey!" And likely was about to say something else when a sword is pointed right at his nose...
And actually is inside his nostril.
    A little bit.
"Well of course I know him, he's old man Takahashi's right hand man, and we've... worked together. Right Toshiro?"
Though Toshiro's answer is a simple 'fneh' of carefully exhaled breath so as to not get his nose cut by that katana. Though one of the gunmen says, "They are leaving, no game tonight. You come back later." Which might be a disappointment to Harley.
Then, carefully, Toshiro can be heard to say so very very carefully. "V-vv-en-mo."
"What was that?" Wade tilts his head to the side.
    "Check. Your... ven-mo."
White eyelets widening, Wade reaches into one of those myriad pouches and digs around a little bit. All the while the sword still stays in said nostril. He produces a cellphone and swipes it to life with a black thumb and scroll-scroll-scroll.
Then he taps that thumb and scrolls a little more.
    Until finally.
    "Oh."
And then he adds after a moment. "Well my face is red."

Harley Quinn has posed:
Jokers? A shiver runs down Harley's spine at the mention of that. "No, no. These ain't jokahs. They got handled a few nights back ..." at that infamous LABYRINTH Batgirl had her run through. Still, it gets Harley off her game for a few moments so she doesn't even get to sigh disappointedly about the game being off tonight. Nor does she get to continue questioning the kinda business DeePee had here.

Venmo?

That gets her back to the present and she jumps out of cover. "Hey, shouldn't we get part of that for uh ..." and she looks at Jessica, ".. supporting act?"

"I mean, we just did all the dirty work for ya.." She taps on her foot expectantly, arms folding together.

Jessica Drew has posed:
The spider tingle that raced up Jess's back has settled into bafflement. Who is working with who?

Over coms, Erin comes back with, "One loner goes under the sobriquet, Deadpool. The woman is off her turf, from Gotham...one Harley Quinn." Which explains the Jokers.

Her eyes move between the three points of danger on the roof as she takes a step backward, nearly smiling at the idea of splitting the payment.

"No, fine with me. Keep it. But somehow I doubt he's into sharesies."

Under her breath over coms, "Sitrep is calming down."

Wade Wilson has posed:
The sword slips back and Toshiro gasps, bringing his hands up to his nose while wincing. "So. My bad." Wade tells the Yakuza as they glower angrily, but now are gathering their fallen people.
"You know they should make the alerts on these things... you know. Better. With the... you know. Sounds."
But that's the point when the gangsters have gathered up their fallen, shooting angry glances over their shoulders as they shuffle toward that door and the stairwell. After a moment longer the door closes, leaving the three 'heroes' alone on the roof.
Wade turns, his mask widening a little as a hint of a smile appears. "Oopsy." But then Harley asks for her share and he says, "What? Hey, nah. It was hardly anything. You'd be insulted to work for that small of a fee. I know what a professional you are, Harls."
Then a glance toward Jess. "Cop gal, you want a slice?" Then he leans closer toward Jess, speaking toward her ear as he raises his voice and attempts to speak more clearly. "I am asking you, strange woman on the roof, would you be willing to accept a bribe for your goods and services?"

Harley Quinn has posed:
Double standards much?!

Harley looks properly scandalized when Wade just refuses to pay her FAIR SHARE and then goes and offers it to Agent Hawtness. The nerve! It's also why she gets closer to him and starts getting grabby hands.

"Let me see your venmo..." she mutters, going for those pockets where she perhaps saw the phone disappear to. "You know as much as fanny packs are cool and all that you really need ta reduce on the numbah of pockets some day ya know?!"

Harley pauses after a few moments of search and then lifts a fingertip. "Actually, I got a bettah idea. Next time I get a bounty you are comin' along. You still got the same numbah, dontcha? Ok, it's a deal.." she looks mighty pleased with herself and then looks at Jessica, "Hey, I'm Harley. Who are ya?"

Jessica Drew has posed:
Chin raised and gun lowered, trying to smother her amusement without total success, Jess replies, deliberately using his name, "You lucked out, Deadpool. I don't have any quotas to fill. I'm not the police." Somehow she doesn't think this character will respond to threats very well so she leaves out the fact that he is on her radar now.

One side of her mouth quirks as he wiggles his way out of paying Quinn who goes after him. She is smiling now, then laughs out loud at the bribery attempt.

"You must know how much the government pays," she replies, still backing away. "Naw, I'm good."

"Call me Jessica." She waves a hand dismissing any other name, then backed up to the parapet, she looks down with relief. Complete quiet. The two rookies didn't call in the cavalry.

Wade Wilson has posed:
"You cannot see my Venmo!" Wade says as he pulls one particular belt pouch off his belt and holds it up over his head since Harley is /very/ short. "I have some very private artwork of Nightwing on my phone and I would die of embarrassment if you ran off and told him about my crush."
Though he does stand up on his tip toes to make sure he stays out of reach. But when she offers that other idea, his eyelets widen, "Oh hey, that's an idea. Maybe we can stretch it out to like a mini-series, three or four issues. Wade and Harley go on the road."
That said he tucks the pouch back into place amongst the fanny packs.
"Jessica. Are you a federale, Jessica?" Those eyelets narrow. "A revenuer? Are you with the FBI, the CIA? Or one of the good guys? Hah!" That said he slides his katana back into its sheath.

Jessica Drew has posed:
"Would it matter much? Count me as a mostly good guy, most of the time. Depends on whose talking. We are kind of into relativism, if you must know." Jess shuts herself up. Coulson must be rubbing off on her.

"Listen, nice meeting you both. I'm off here."

Without hesitation, she puts a leg over the side of the ledge and then disappears out of sight with a little wave.

Wade Wilson has posed:
As the two young women beat a hasty retreat, Wade is left. Once again. To his own devices. He heaves a small sigh, then digs his cellphone back out. He swipes it to life and checks his Venmo again, heaves another small sigh.
"Perhaps the real treasure, was the friends we made along the way." A pause as he looks off in the direction of Jess and Harley's departure. Then he says, "Or fuck that, 20k worth of hookers and blow party. Woo!"
And with that he runs off.
