Date of Scene: 10 January 2023
Location: Hell's Kitchen
Synopsis: Three speedsters meet while Carin is evading Cyberdata drones! Bart offers transport and Rave offers a sleepover! Super helpful, super fast!
Cast of Characters: Carin Taylor, Bart Allen, Naria Shepard

Carin Taylor has posed:
They'd nearly chased her a dozen city blocks by now. Quad-copter hunter drones the size of a VW Beetle. Carin was -trying- to get to Brooklyn, to Bushwick, without causing too much collateral damage. She was avoiding the streets and alleys, opting instead to run across the icy rooftops at top speed. Barely a green blur in the eyes of the average person. But in her wake, two robotic aircraft with pincers and, more importantly: Scramjets and maneuvering repulsors.

They weren't spraying the streets with lead or even less-than-lethal munitions at least, but at least one or two rooftop HVAC units was taken out by a high-voltage electrified net aimed at the running redhead. "...just another handful of miles..." she tells herself, bright red shoes digging into the edge of a rooftop as she leaps across six lanes of traffic several stories up and lands on the opposite rooftop without skipping a beat. The landing is hard and she has to tumble into it, but she resumes being a green streak in a split-second as the drones scream after her.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen was eating at a place when the power went out, they stepped outside to see what was going on, odd only one building having power issues. He then notices the blur heading from a couple roofs down the way. Also something seems to be following the blur. So Bart will step away and into an alley and with a blur of speed, Bart is gone and Impulse is running up the side of the building to get to the roof, where he can get a better look, stopping one he is on the rooftop for a so short moment, but enough for him to look over and get a better look on whats going on.

Naria Shepard has posed:
As far as 'subtle' crossings of the city goes, Rave is known to be a little...eye-catching, what with the glowing streak of neon that the bluenette speedster tended to leave in her wake. But even she wasn't quite to the 'Quad-coptor' and electronet phase. Today at least, one never knew exactly what the future held.

Unlike others, the neon comet didn't have a secret identity, her glowing hair and eyes made that pretty much impossible. She seemed to be midway through a sip of her obnoxiously sweet hot-cocoa when the sight of the high-speed battle caught her gaze.

A flash of light and the girl in the short skirt and hoodie jacket was amidst the chaos.

Carin Taylor has posed:
To the well-trained perceptions of Bart and Rave, it's obvious what's going on here. The green blur with the red shoes is picking herself up mid-roll on the rooftop. It's a woman with white skin and red hair and what's clearly some kind of 'super suit' on. The drones engage their burst-thrusters and use that split-second of lag to get closer. The girl, however, is focused on the roof ahead and the path she knows to get to the Brooklyn Bridge. At this hour, if she was doing top speed at ground level, someone would get hurt.

But as it stands, as blue flashes erupt from pincers on the underside of the drones, she's got potential to be the one to get hurt. Those flashes are blasts of electricity, lighting up the rooftop, water-slick from melting snow. The crackling rush of it chases at the girl's red-clad heels and nearly nips at them as she jumps up, landing on a gardener's shack near a patio, narrowly avoiding getting hit. She's certainly not /fighting/ these things, but it also seems she may not be capable of doing more than running right now.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen frowns a bit as the drones don't have any identifying markers so that puts them in the range of "Bad Guy" Impulse kicks in the speed, and starts to head to intercept one of those bots. He heads in with the blur of yellow electricity coming around him, and he will come in from in front of Carin, stopping just long enough to "throw" that aura at one of the drones "You want to throw electricity, see how you like it when others do." He strikes the heroic pose for just a moment, as he is ready to dodge or mess with the other drone.

Naria Shepard has posed:
Like many a speedster, Rave was pretty able to take in the details of the fight quickly. Carrin was someone she knew after all, though Bart? That makes her blink. She'd met The Flash...and the Other Flash...but not this one! Still she was headed towards the sight, a lift of her hands allowing a bright glowing burst of plasma-hot neon laser slicing through one of the drones.

Unless she was going the speed of light? Rave was quite capable of hitting and running at the same time.

Carin Taylor has posed:
Carin is, even in costume, unfortunately very distinct. There aren't many heroes out there with her distinct look. That shock of red hair. That ivory white skin. And of course, that lightning bolt tattoo on her face. It would take a fully-covering mask to hide it, and with the heat she puts off when she's running, that's just asking for trouble.

The sudden showing of Impulse in front of her like that makes Carin blink. Sure everything is moving in slow motion for her but this guy is moving faster through her perceptions. And, thankfully, immediately makes himself known as an ally. Or at least, not an enemy, when that drone is slammed into by electrokinetic force. The scramjet cuts out and explodes, showering the rooftop with shrapnel. Beneath, a pair of barrels jut out and start to spray Bart's location with electrified bullets, but even that is cut off suddenly by Rave's blast hacking it in half cleanly.

This leaves the second drone, left without its tandem, attempting to pull back and re-asses the situation and the new targets. Carin, however, takes the opportunity to get some more distance, putting feet to roof and running parallel to the street and away from her would-be saviors. For the moment, anyway.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen dodges those bolts that are shot at him "Now, you should not do that." He looks over to the other one and is off, starting to run around the thing at speeds, pulling the flash tornado trick, trying to get the drone spinning and all off kilter. He does notice Carin running off and looks over to Rave "Want to check on her?" He asks her as he runs.

Naria Shepard has posed:
Laser bolts cast, there was still a shimmer of dancing energy around Rave's hands when the Flash rushes up towards her...and she blinks. Oh wait, she -did- know this one. Still, he was running in that whirling vortex and it was only her perception that allowed her to hear him before she gives a nod and then streaks off in an impossible rush of speed before coming up parallel to Carin, offering a wave of her hand to try and draw the other girl's attention.

"Hey! What's going on?"

Carin Taylor has posed:
The drones are built for speedy interceptions, not navigating in a hurricane. The one that's still 'alive' is sent whirling, its engines and gyroscopes trying to overcompensate for the winds surrounding it. It ends up spinning, flipping, and the scramjet engages which puts it in a pretty rapid crash-course towards the rooftop! Oh dear.

Meanwhile, Carin is a few rooftops away when Rave catches up to her. Those green eyes fixate on the neon girl's face in the moment between nanoseconds. And then the redhead veers off to duck into a rooftop access stairwell. She zooms down about two flights and... waits. Her bright red shoes are smoking some, and she's grasping the inner lining of that lightning bolt cutout in her suit and fanning herself a little.

If Rave follows, and Carin hopes she does, she'll sigh and lean back against the wall of the stairwell. "...was... doing a... courier job..." she starts. "...Cyberdata drone net spotted me and..." she makes a vague gesture up at the roof with her hands. "...they probably called in more interceptors. I was... um... trying to head for Bushwick to lose them..."

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen will keep the wind up till then thing crashes and then he will take a few seconds to start pulling the thing apart, seeing if there is any identifying marks or such and taking a few parts, that he will have to have Robin see if he can track. This does give the two ladies a moment to get out of sight from him. HE will move to the edge of the roof looking about to see if he can spot them.

Naria Shepard has posed:
Skidding to a stop beside Carin, Rave seems unbothered by the burst of speed. Even her hair settles back into 'mostly' neat while she smoothes out her skirt and tilts her head to the side.

"This...this was the people you were worried about seeing you in a selfie when we met up?" the bluenette questions before turning to look over the city and back towards the direction of Bart...which probably makes her a little easier to spot.

Carin Taylor has posed:
Carin sighs, looking out over the street. The buildings here aren't going to keep her safe for too long but enough time is bought and she can bolt after at least giving her fellow speedster, or speedsters, a rundown. "...um... yeah..." she continues to use the big front opening of her suit to fan herself, having put some extra bursts of motion down to get across some of those street crossings. Rave could probably feel the heat coming off of her. "...they... -really- want me..." she grouses quietly.

Outside of some bog-standard names in electronics for manufacturing chips and hardware, there's no other identifying marks in and on the drones for Bart to really use. Of course, internal radio gear and transmission signals as well as whatever onboard RAM that wasn't purged in the crash might still have something worth recovering! For now, though, it's not likely he'll miss Rave and Carin on the stairs hugging the side of a building about six doors down.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen will come down the side of the building, with some of the inner parts from the drones in hand. He comes up to them and skids to a halt. The young man, seems like moving at this speed is almost more natural to him than normal speed. "So, everything ok? Those two won't be chasing you any more, any clue why they were after you?"

Naria Shepard has posed:
"No kidding," Rave offers as she leans, gaze moving over and then politely averting from the self-cooling Carin before looking up to Bart, lifting a hand in greeting and then waiting to hear if Carin wil share a little more information before tilting her head. "If you need somewhere to hide out, I might know a place or two."

Carin Taylor has posed:
Carin sees the bits in Bart's hands and blinks at them. All around, things move so slow though. Three speedsters on a glorified fire escape? The time between the seconds is enough for a full conversation. And maybe, right this moment specifically, is exactly what Carin needs. "There'll be more," she exhales a puff of air. "...there's always more. It's... um. Cyberdata. They... they want me back. They're always sending drones and robots and... I didn't... want to go down there?"

She nods to the streets where cars and people are packed and moving at, to their eyes, a slideshow's pace. "Hiding.. for a day might be nice... a good idea... um. Thanks. Both of you." She looks to Rave. They know each other. But to Bart? Well. Impulse? Carin's in her own suit, and makes introductions like that. "...Velocity. Is what they called me. So. Yeah. Thanks."

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks over and says "Impulse, and if your needing to get somewhere perhaps, I can help. Do you know how they are tracking you or anything?" He asks her and says "We might be able to throw them off."

Naria Shepard has posed:
"Rave," the bluenette offers to the pair she was fairly sure both knew her from encounter or her public view. "And yeah, trust me...I can think of an idea of a safe place. But if they're going to keep after you, so...is there a way to find them? To make them stop?"

Carin Taylor has posed:
Carin shakes her head, "...I... I mean... the tracker gear inside of me is disabled, we're sure of that... but.. um.. I was just. Doing a courier job in town.." she gestures down the street, even though her delivery was probably at the other end of Central Park. "...I think just. Wrong place, wrong time, traffic camera or something..." she hugs herself. "Just. Trying to stay out of the city as much as possible right now? I... I've... got some new work that I hope sticks but.."

The redhead looks away, then back to Rave. "We just. Need to be gone. Before reinforcements come. And.. we're good at.. being gone, right? If.. I can stay somewhere for a night, it should belp. But I ran into them in Gotham, I've had them more than once here in New York. They know I'm in the tri-city area. I just.. have no idea where they're.. centrally located?" She laughs, staring up at the sky now, resting her head against the wall. "...I just wanted to be helpful and grab a late lunch."

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks over and says "Well, I know a few places, but if you know of someplace, It might be good. "Give me one moment though." He is off, to get something for the ladies. They have a moment to talk since they are both speedsters as well, but soon he is back with a white and red Rickshaw "They maybe able to track an energy signal from you or something, you can ride in this and Rave can take you with her without you using your own speed."

Naria Shepard has posed:
A rickshaw? Why had she never thought of that? That would be very much better than grabbing people one at a time. Tilting her head to the side, her eyes look over the thing before giving a little laugh. "Is that uh...trickier to drive? Doding stuff, people and cars...stairs?" she questions before gesturing to the space around them. "We can make it work."

Carin Taylor has posed:
"...that... that might be a good idea..." Carin says quietly, blinking at the rickshaw. Bartshaw? "...I.. always wanted to ride in one.." she admits, then purses her lips at Rave. "Um... I don't take up much space. Just.. for one night?" she asks. "..then I'll be out of your way..."

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks to her and says "Just give yourself a half a micro second longer before you cut in front of something. You just have to make sure your remembering it is behind you mainly. It is set up to handle speed so should work for ya." He pulls out a card "Give me a call let me know where to pick it up, I will see if there are any drones coming to check out the busted ones and if so handle them.

Naria Shepard has posed:
"Right, so no sharp turns to accidently plow into stuff and try to keep it below mach-crazy," she offers before giggling lightly. "I so have to get a photo of this at some point..." Of course, without Carrin in it, since there was a reasonable reason for her not to be in shots. "C'mon...I'll find snacks, it'll just be like a cool sleepover."
