Save me, Harley!
Date of Scene: 23 June 2023
Location: Atlantic City - New Jersey
Synopsis: Diana interrogates Wade and learns the deep dark secrets of the Suicide Squad.
Cast of Characters: Diana Prince, Wade Wilson, Harley Quinn

Diana Prince has posed:
It had been quite an ordeal at the convention center. Diana had gone there to investigate some pretty sour claims of corporate shenanigans happening with some of the companies represented at the Con, but it had turned in to something a lot bigger.

Chaos. Property damage. Danger to civilian life. Theft, and likely many other counts of laws being broken.

One of the presumed law breakers had been captured too, and now was sitting inside of the Invisible Jet itself. The Jet rests off of the large grassy green lawn of the convention center in Atlantic City, a number of local Police are milling about outside of the alien-tech-powered Jet, which is currently very much visible and just a little bit opaque.

A beautiful 'space yacht' the interior of the jet is the color of clouds, with just a hint of the world beyond visible through the walls, while everything inside it is hidden away like any normal structure should and would. The Jet hovers above the ground like a giant cloud-hued dagger, and even some of the cops have been taking selfies alongside it outside.

Inside, Diana stands with her arms crossed over her stomach, her dress a bit askew upon her form, her hair a bit messier than it was when she'd arrived at the Convention, and her lasso of golden divine power, wrapped tightly around the man who once wore a mask.

Deadpool's mask has been pulled off, sorry Wade, and tossed on a nearby table to the surprisingly comfortable cloud-colored chair that the Merc with the Mouth is tied up and sitting upon.

The lasso is glowing brightly around him, and should he even try to lie-- which he surely has tried to by now already --he'll get burned quite intensely, but in a way that doesn't leave any permanent damage, nor harm to his red and black suit.

"I need to know what all of that was about." Diana is saying to him, flanked by two law officers. "And I need you to tell me now." She says with a serious tone.

Wade Wilson has posed:
"This is pretty cool, it's like... wow. I mean. Not like cheap Farscape kinda lameness where you expect to see muppets. But more like, I don't know, maybe the cool part of Flight of the Navigator, you see that? Not the lame parts on Earth." Wade's cancer-riddled features twist up a little as he surveys the interior, then he looks back and up and up toward the tall Amazon. He lifts his chin a little, eyes widening.
"Was one of my favorite movies." Then he winces as the rope flares ever so subtly, one of his eyes scrunching up as the rope does its magic. "I mean. It was okay. I acted like it was cooler than it was to convince kids that I was extra cool for being one of the only ones to see it in my middle school."
    No more burning.
That said he looks at her as she throws those words at him, "Ah that was... like, a sub-contract. Somebody in the government is all, 'hey this tech thing is bad' and then they complain to someone in the intelligence community, and then that person rings someone up. Eventually it gets around to one boss or another, then that boss is like, 'send in... the team!' and the team gets sent. This time it was us. Though like, they really need to get their stuff together. Since one of us actually was on the wanted list for Atlantic City. Like, good idea huh?"
Wade nods a little, biting his lower lip thoughtfully. "Coulda used more recon maybe..."

Harley Quinn has posed:
Things had really taken a turn on what was supposed to had been a quick snatch and grab! First for the better when Diana had been present because Harley always enjoys spending some time with Didi but then for the worst when of course shit had hit the fan ... And through it all? Harley had remained close by Diana, not that she could stop the Wonder Woman even if she wanted to and so perhaps she could smooth things over after...

If only Wade hadn't been caught!

So it's a rather distressed Harley that's pacing about the room, nervous and mulling over what's going on. Eyes going to the two officers, then back. She knows it's no good if Diana finds out what the Suicide Squad is though at least she doesn't have a bomb in her head because she knows Waller might just trigger it out of spite.

"Hey, we are getting parched over heah. You guys mind goin' to fetch us some drinks outside?" this to the two guards flanking Diana! Sus.

Diana Prince has posed:
Throughout the talk of that movie, Diana's eyes are just locked on Wade's face, not really affected by the condition its in as she's seen it all by this point of her life. The Cops? Well they didn't react quite so nicely when Wade's face had been revealed, but they mostly were just letting Diana do her thing and kind of in awe of seeing the famous lasso of Truth being used, because who wouldn't be?

One of the Cops is watching Harley though, likely due to her being a infamous face, and the young Cop probably knows her because of it.

"You are saying that the Government sent you to do this?" Diana ask in a soft tone of her naturally husky voice. "The United States government...?" She questions next before her chin rises just a little. "I would like the names of your group who were with you on this mission. I am told many things were stolen, and you were talking to other people throughout my witnessing your actions."

The Cops look to Harley and the older of the two nods toward the younger who turns to walk toward the exit ramp in the aft of the Jet. He calls out for one of the others to grab some of the gatorade bottles from the squad car, and soon someone is jogging over a pair of those big chonky plastic bottles of red gatorade that is handed up to the officer who takes them both and starts back toward the interrogation.

He lobs one at Harley, causing the paper around it to crinkle a little as he underhands it to the Clownette.

Wade Wilson has posed:
"One of 'em," He answers and his eye tightens a little as a hint of the searing brightens. Wade winces ever so slightly then murmurs, "I mean yeah, part of the U.S. Government. I think. Unless you know, I mean super deep state to be fair. Nobody voted for her fo sho, hah. Though I mean, I'd vote for her. If she turns out to be the version of her from that one series. Very Halle Berry, but also sorta mean. Which, does have its appeal."
Then she asks for the names of the group and there's a visible look of mild displeasure on his features, "Aww man, Princess. Why you gotta do me like that?" Even as the lasso seems to be glowing slightly more and more, he gives in after a moment. "But ok, so. I don't know some of them. We don't use real names usually. Well, I mean I do, because I don't care about people knowing my real name. But most of them are just..."
He pauses and shakes his head, "Well they're jerks. Except Peter. No idea what his last name is. Something nice though I'm sure, and dreamy. There's Pistolo? Pistolero? I think he changes it now and again just to mess with us."
Wade's eyes distance as he looks to the side, taking a breath in through his teeth, then exhaling slowly. "There's Songboid. She's a good sort though, like wants to be a good guy but is terrible at it. There's Roulette, who is a jerk. Skullface, though that's not his real name. Total jerk. Vlad is the Batguy, not the one you have a crush on." And...
That's the moment when the lasso seems to burn a little more and Wade actually seems to endure it for a time as he groans a touch. "And one more... Inmate #447801HQ..."
    The lasso eases a little.

Harley Quinn has posed:
That the two guards don't actually leave is a bummer. And then they just bring her a gatorade? Harley just looks at the bottle with a desolate expression. "I was hoping for some cappuccinos. I think there's a coffee shop like .., you know .., five blocks down or so.." she says a bit lamely. Hey, she is nervous! She can't figure out good reasons for them to just get the heck out of here so they aren't talking about SECRET business in front of these cops.

"Ooooh, you got a crush on Batman?" Yep, that's what Harley is focusing on as Wade speaks up all those names, snitching out on the whole team. Well, not her just yet. But she knows the power of the lasso. One cannot resist it at all. She had felt it in the past after all.

It's when Wade starts going through that last INMATE that her goes wide. Yes, it's sort of endearing that he's trying not to incriminate her but one thing is omitting something to a friend, the other is to outright lie! And she can't bring herself to lie Didi no more!

"I can't do this no moouh!" She blurts out, "I think it's time to come clean ... Didi, can you get the nice officers to wait outside please?" there's a certain seriousness to her tone, as if asking it as a favor.

Diana Prince has posed:
The younger Cop looks to Harley when she speaks of the Coffee Shop. He just shoots her a smirk. "You're funny, just like I've heard." He says of the blonde. Ultimately his eyes go back to Wade and both he and his older partner are taking down the names as Wade gives them off.

Diana is just staring at Wade, listening intently, as she doesn't ever have to write anything down... her mind remembers every moment of her life as though it had just happened, for better or for worse.

When Wade reads off the inmate numbr, she's already looking to harley before the clownette starts to make her request. Diana just stares for a lingering moment, as the two officers exchange looks before regarding Diana.

It takes a moment or two, but the Princess does speak to the two, and she does walk with them toward the exit of the Jet before she seals the door shut, and starts to walk back without them. The cloud-like bulkheads of the Jet being somewhat see-through, everyone inside it can see the two Police Detectives moving to rejoin some of their people by the gathering outside.

"You are involved in this, Harley?" Diana asks, leaving Wade to stew in the golden glowing lasso's glorious embrace!

"Do you know who sent ... this group... here today?" Diana then asks of Harley, sans any Divine Ropes to force her to tell any truths though.

Wade Wilson has posed:
    And stew Wade does.
Though not in silence nor inaction!
For he tries to... work at his... wrists... twisting... trying to loosen the lasso. He takes a few deep breaths, huffing and puffing as he tries to give himself some slack to work with and get out of the magical golden rope. But...
    To no avail.
Though that doesn't dampen his spirits. "Hold on, Harleen. Just keep her distracted as I slowly... work these loops. And once I get free we can take her together. Good job getting rid of those cops..."
But then he seems to give up as he exhales. "Ok this isn't working. It's funny how many of my jokes don't work unless I'm allowed to lie."

Harley Quinn has posed:
It's quite the sight, Harley looking so desolate and lost, biting on her lower lip as if she had been caught with her hand deep down the cookie jar. In a way she had hoped she could keep these activities unknown to Diana. She didn't have to know the deals she had to do in order to gain her liberty.

"Nah, we are done Wade ..." she tells Deadpool. No punchline or joke and she doesn't even need that lasso around her for it. Her shoulders stoop and she finally speaks up again.

"Yea, I am part of the group." she admits, "Been for..., I dunno .., maybe a couple of years. Part of why I am allowed to be on parole." she looks at Wade, "Me and him ..., and the others he snitched on.."

"It's a government initiative, very hush hush, we do some work for uh.., the government and we weah doing just that. Think some of the scientists at the convention weah workin' with AIM.." she looks at Wade for confirmation.

She was never the best at paying attention on mission briefs.

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana certainly hasn't forgotten Wade, far from it. She does spare a glance over at the man as he voices his plan. She ignores it, having no fear of him or what he could do even if he got out of the rope. Could he have some kind of mutation she wasn't aware of? Of course. Had he shown anything remotely capable of escaping from her, or a mutation that would support it? Nope. He seemed to be just a rather disturbed man, but one who has clearly been through a lot...

She has empathy for him, even if she knows basically nothing about him, beyond what she's seen so far.

The Princess looks from Wade to Harley then as she hears the woman explain. "This is... related to Amanda Waller's project of reforming criminal offenders?" Diana questions Harley specifically.

She doesn't need a verbal answer though, these two have already given it to her.

"This is not what I signed you up for, Harley. You shouldn't be doing these kinds of things, putting yourself at physical risk, putting others at physical risk. You ... this path could lead you back to a prison cell, not away from them." She doesn't seem necessarily disappointed in Harley, as she already has realized there was likely no choice given to the woman.

Diana looks back to Wade then, and steps toward him. She reaches her right hand out and puts a finger on the golden rope, before she moves it up to his nose to just press her fingertip against his nose and get his eyes to solely focus on her own.

"What is your real name?" She asks of him then, dropping her finger away from his face. "How did you come to work for Waller on this?" She asks further, her tone still serious, if a bit glum at this information.

For three years now, Diana has been lied to by Amanda Waller....

Wade Wilson has posed:
"I..." Wade starts to say something, then he looks over toward Harley, then back toward Diana. He takes a deep breath. "I mean. I usually don't pay a lot of attention at the briefings. But... yeah. They were old AIM people, something something, energy storage device. I don't know. I usually don't read the briefs too deeply..."
Which, curiously enough, is entirely true.
Since the jig is up... and Diana's walking toward him, Deadpool's tone shifts a little, "Usually Waller sends us after stuff that is pretty bad or crummy. To be fair. Usually it's got something bad, or bad people doing something. This might be more like, heading off problems down the line. I don't know, I'm not a big picture kinda guy. Then again Waller doesn't really mind using us at times as her own enforcers sometimes..."
Then Diana gets his attention. Gets his focus as if he were a misbehaving Golden Retriever. He blinks. Then says softly. "My name's Wade. Wade Wilson. I work for Waller for free as a way I can demean myself in punishment for the horrible things I've done that I can't get over."
A pause, then he adds. "Wait. Please ignore that last part."

Harley Quinn has posed:
The jig is totally up. And Diana even knows Waller's name. Oh, that's not good, Harley knows this is going to become a mess soon enough but the cat is out of the bag now. Along with the bird, and the dog and the ...

"Maybe I deserve it. Prison, I mean. I have done horrible things in the past, Diana. Just like Wade did." She tells her friend with a shake of her head, "I can't just get a pass because you vouch for me, Didi."

"And we do try to do the right thing .., most of the times.." She eyes Wade sourly, "Ramming the truck right into the convention was dumb..." she tells him with a nudge of her hip against the man's side.

Diana Prince has posed:
What Wade tells Diana pretty much informs her of what her suspicions already were saying. Amanda has been collecting people that she could manipulate in to serving her as some kind of government super team. This is not what she'd signed Harley up for, let alone her other addition to Amanda's criminal reform team in the 'form' of Mystique. She must be involved in this too, though Diana hasn't seen Raven Darkholme in quite some time...

"Harley." Diana says in that soothing way of hers. "You should have come to me to tell me about this." She tells her friend. "I could have helped you ages ago with this."

A breath is taken then by the Princess who steps over to Wade, this time her hands reaches out and without much explanation on how she does it, the lasso of Hestia just falls loose around the man's body. Diana reaches for his mask, and offers it to him as the golden glowing rope stops glowing, and starts to be slowly coiled-up again within the Princess' hands.

"I am going to arrange for your release." She tells them both. "It won't be easy, mind you, but I will see to it that it is done. Then... I will take you both back to wherever you wish to go, and then..."

She holds the rolled-up lasso at her side against her ruffled and rumpled blue dress. "I am going to have a few words with Waller..."

She's releasing them? That's good news, right!?

Wade Wilson has posed:
Sidelong to Harley, Wade defends his decision. "I was improvising..." Then he adds, "And I really wanted Wonder Woman to notice me." Damned magic rope!
Though in the next moment that lasso falls free of him and she gives him the mask. He looks down at her hands, then up into her eyes. Slowly he reaches out and takes the mask back in hand, for a time looking at those white eyelets on the front of it. He slides a hand up into it, poofing it out a little. His disfigured features twist a little, then he makes the mask move with his hand. "S'alright?"
He smirks a little and repeats, "S'arright." Though not very enthusiastically.
Getting to his feet he pulls the mask on, adjusting it under the collar of his uniform, tucking it in, sliding the zipper down. Those white eyelets narrow then widen as he looks over at the two women. "So..." A pause, then he looks between the two of them. "Were you guys a couple or what?" He waits a half second, "Just, you know, asking for later."

Harley Quinn has posed:
Harley shakes her head in quite a firm manner, "You can't solve all the problems, Didi. Some I got to handle on my own.." and her jaw seems set. Harley clearly isn't the type to want others solving her mess of a life! Even if it's not so much a mess anymore with the friends she has found along the way.

The clownette eventually exhales as if some weight had been lifted off her shoulders, "Well, now you know about the suicide squad. And Wade is normally a bit nicer when you don't make him strip his feelings in front of ya. Sort of. Dependin' on the day.."

She mostly ignores the part about Di stating she will talk with Waller. That will be a fight for another day. Instead she focuses on the next most interesting thing. "Not yet we ain't." a teasing wink out of the clownette. Nope, you can't embarass or be too offensive to the clown girl!

Diana Prince has posed:
The question as to her and Harley's relationship is just ignored by Diana. Instead she does look to Harley who states something that doesn't get a direct response either. Diana knows she can't live Harley's life for her, or fix all of the woman's problems that she's somehow managed to always find herself in, but ... she wants to help. She believes in Harley, and wants to see her smiling for all the right reasons.

Diana moves past both she and Deadpool as she steps toward the fore of the Jet. There she's met in the cockpit archway by another Amazon, one dressed in a gold and bronze armored number, leather skirt and tall boots going up to exposed muscular thighs, and equally muscled arms. Captain Eophi of the United States Amazon regiment. The brunette speaks to Diana, they sharing words spoken in Themysciran language before her eyes look to the passengers.

Diana turns back then to move toward the aft of the Jet once more.

"I will speak to the Police, and then we shall be on our way." She states, hesitating for a moment. "I want you both to stay out of trouble from this point on, until I have had a chance to speak to Waller. This time, I can get you out of custody. Should such a thing as what happened here today, happen again... you will be on your own."

Nobody had been hurt in the Convention Center, and Diana can easily explain to the Police that the real mastermind of this event has to be confronted, and she needs both Wade and Harley's help for that. Is it a lie? Not really. This has just gotten so complicated.

"Harley. I need you to tell me everything about this... horrribly named 'Suicide Squad' too." She states lastly before moving to the Jet's entrance.

At the cockpit, Eophi simply stands there, looking quite regal in her shimmering armor, and crimson red shoulder cape draping down her left beefy shoulder.

Wade Wilson has posed:
"A little bit nicer, just a smidge." Deadpool tells them though his mask doesn't let on too much. Yet he doesn't interrupt as Diana and Harley have their exchange. When Diana starts to tell them how it's going to go, Wade gives a nod as he listens, occasionally looking toward Harley to see how she's taking it.
While Harley starts to go with Diana, Wade lingers and hovers near Eophi as he looks off after the others departing. He does take a moment to turn those white eyelets on the Amazonian Captain and asks her, "So."
    "How you doin'?"

Wade Wilson has posed:
"So... hi." A beat. "My name's Wade. By the way."

Wade Wilson has posed:
"Is it true that... you know... the whole... chopping one off thing..."
A pause, "I mean... to look at you I'd say no." Wade nods sagely.

Wade Wilson has posed:
"So Kangas, huh? Those are pretty neat. I mean, riding them into battle and all. Not as cool as velociraptors. But I suppose you take what you can on a little island like Themyscira."
