Patty Sloan has posed:
Its evening time at the School grounds. Classes are out of session and people are all over. The newest Student to the college is one of those people. She happens to be out exploring. Her feet have carried her to the student gardens. Its rather quiet here and she is enjoying it. Its a lovely area and while a most of the gardens lay fallow, There are some plants that look nice. Patty smiles, appreciating each one.

Quietly she makes her way to a bend and sits down. Looking around she takes in the sweet late winter, early spring air. The seasons are turning but it is still a little cold. So Patty is wearing a sweat shirt that she happened to get from the school. It may have a pair of slits cut into the back. Idly she looks at a few leaves stuck in a tree. Ones that haven't fallen from the fall and managed to stay stuck to the tree through the winter so far. She breathes deep and exhales. A gust of wind whips up and takes down a pair of leaves.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
The chatter of voices going back and forth foreshadows that the student gardens aren't going to stay so quiet for long. After a few moments a group of students enter, younger one who are still in high school from the looks of them. They are involved in their own conversation enough that they don't appear to notice Patty yet.

"You're crazy," one of the boys says. He doesn't look like he leads a very athletic lifestyle. "The rocket launcher is the best weapon, ever," he declares.

Another student, a young black boy with wiry hair gives a laugh. "Nah, you use that and you get a smoke trail right back to you and then everyone zeroes in on you. The knife is the best. What do you think Tommy?" he says, the latter question asked of a rail-thin youth with green skin and spindly legs.

Tommy shrugs. "You know I was never that good at those games," he says. "Hambone with a rocket launcher probably scares me worse than the knife though." Which makes Hambone grin and thwap the second student on the chest as if his point was made.

"You guys and your Call of Duty," a girl says, shaking her head. As they continue into the garden, they notice Patty. Though something else quickly draws their attention. A purple dragon the size of a small dog comes flying over the wall. His eyes are solid yellow without pupils. He wings over, fleetly circling the group of students who grin up at him but don't seem to taken aback at his presence.

Jubilation Lee has posed:
The plan was to surprise Patty and take her around campus to introduce her to the movers and shakers of Xavier's, but she wasn't in her dorm room. Word around school was that Samantha heard from Brian that Wendy told Bobby that she saw Patty heading for the Student Gardens, so the new plan became meeting up with Monet St. Croix and taking her to the Student Gardens to meet Patty. "Okay, I seriously question her tastes considering she picked the garden and not, like, the arcade or the rec room. This place doesn't even have wi-fi...." Jubilee adds as she flings open the door that leads to the expansive yard behind the mansion.

"Look, she's new here, so, like, try not to be all..." Jubilation searches for the most polite way to say it. "....Monet..." is what she comes up with, squinting and even doing finger quotes for maximum effect. As soon as Jubilee steps outside, a thin layer of smoke starts to spread from ever part of her exposed skin. "Fuuoooorks!" Jubilee cries out, just barely able to pivot away from shouting an obscenity in front of a little gaggle of younger kids walking by. She spins on her heel and ducks back into the mansion to grab one of the loaner umbrellas they keep near the door.

Jubilee keeps herself safely shielded during the sun's final half hour by staying under that Hello Kitty umbrella for the entire walk across the back yard and into the student gardens. She's just in time to catch the tail end of the boys arguing about video game violence. "Oh, come on, /this/ again? You guys were arguing about this last week, too!" Jubilee complains, suddenly appearing just behind Hambone as alleged vampires allegedly do. She gives her head a sudden up-nod to force her Ray Bans to fall into place and cover her eyes. She's dressed like it could very well be August: a bright yellow tank-top, black booty shorts, and flip-flops. She doesn't seem cold at all.

"You guys see the new girl around here?" she asks, raising both eyebrows over the top edge of her sunglasses, giving each of the boys a look that's sure to evoke some kind of feeling. "What about you, Figment? Have you seen her?" she asks, calling up to the dragon that flies overhead. "What's the traffic report look like from up there? Do you see her?"

Monet St. Croix has posed:
The gardens are Ororo's domain, no matter what anyone else might thing. Much in the same way as the library is Xi'an's. Some things one does not even have up for debate. Monet comes here to relax. It's not prone to interruptions as the library is, or the staff room. Here, if there are any students present, none of them are ever rowdy. It is a sign of respect to the weather witch. So she comes here to enjoy the quiet. There's a sense of solitude here that few other places in the area can have. Tranquility. Which she often desperately needs. Moreso this last year, which has been very trying for her mentally, hard as she works to force it down and not admit it.
And yet she's here with Jubilee, accompanying the girl that by all means and logic should set her off. The two have formed a strange sort of friendship throughout M's time at the Mansion. Among a variety of reasons - but primarily among them was when M was in pain, Jubilee and Noriko came to help her. And she did her best to try and help them in turn when it was needed. "I thought that you would mostly be occupied with those games." Final Fantasy and Helldivers. Which M presumed a good chunk of the student body and likely teachers had gotten into. "And I have not. Has she had a tour of the school yet?" The new girl. Hearing the sound of the voices and chatter, M would do an imitation of rolling her eyes without doing so. At the very lesat they could bother with something more involved than a looter shooter.
They're here to look out for the new girl, give her some guidance around the campus.. Or perhaps just to satisfy their curiousity. At least Monet is going with the flow - accompanying Jubilee as they would go to join the others present.

Patty Sloan has posed:
The leaves dance to the ground and the breeze that took them down stops. Patty smiles and looks proud of herself for doing that. The quiet is shattered by the sound of younger students arguing over a video game. She looks up and snickers a little. She had just gotten used to being away from other students and now she is back to school. Its kinda refreshing to be honest.

Then there is a dragon. A small dragon but a dragon no less. She looks up and blinks a few times. Was someone's ability to turn into a dragon? That is totally awesome! "Wow!" She states as she stands up and starts walking towards it.

As she walks toward the flying dragon, her eyes catch someone in a yellow jacket. A quick glance reveals a familiar face. "Oh Hey Jubilation." She smiles and starts walking towards the vampire. "How are you today? I was just exploring a little. I like being outside sometimes. It feels good to just unwind." She beams happily as she looks over Monet. "umm Hi." She nervously states. She shyly waves as she winces a little as her wings strain against their bindings.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Hambone points to the other boy to say, "Well, because he thinks a stupid knife is better than an RPG," as explanation for why the argument is still going on.

Tommy is more helpful. "Over there, Miss Lee," he says, using his thumb to give a pointing gesture over towards Patty.

The purple dragon meanwhile, focuses in on Patty as well. He swoops down to low to, circling about her two or three times before darting up into the air higher. He does a little loop and then dives back down to land on the bench near her.

One could easily miss Kitty Pryde's entrance into the garden, since she didn't come through a gate. But she's in there now. "Ah, there she is, thanks Lockheed," Kitty says as she makes her way over to the others. "Better than a bloodhound," she says with pride towards the little dragon.

Jubilee and Monet and the group of students get a nod from Kitty. "Hey everyone," Kitty says to them. "Hello, Ms. Pryde," Hambone replies, keeping his eyes from meeting Kitty's.

Whatever it is he did wrong, Kitty either isn't aware of it (yet) or wants to focus on greeting Patty. "I heard we have a new student, I wanted to come greet you," she says as she walks over to join Jubilee and Monet before Patty. "Really glad to see you decided to enroll. I'm one of the school's guidance counselors," she says.

Jubilation Lee has posed:
Tommy gets an immediate reaction from Miss Lee's face. "...Jubilation! Jubilee! Jubes!" she corrects, tilting her head to the side a little. "Same ol' Jubes, T-man. But, thanks." Things have changed a bit now that Jubilee works at the school. She might just have to be Miss Lee to some of the kids. Monet gets a sideways glance. "Don't get any ideas!" Jubilee adds, recognizing that getting Monet to stop calling her Miss Lee has been an ongoing, uphill effort almost from day one. She moves towards where Tommy pointed. "There she is," Jubilation tells Monet, exposing her fangs as she grins a little too wide.

"Hey, Patty. I'm good. I mean, like, it's still pretty early..." she answers, shrugging a little. The sun has almost disappeared below the horizon, but early and late are subjective. "So, /this/ is Monet. Monet, Patty. Patty, Monet," Jubilee says, turning her body in turn to face each of them as she says their name. When Kitty shows herself, Jubilation raises her eyebrows, pretending to be exhausted. "Kitty, Patty, Patty, Kitty," she continues. "Kitty, Monet. Monet, Kitty." Jubes just goes through the motions, knowing perfectly well that Kitty and Monet know each other.

"Are you, like, sure?" Jubilee wonders, watching Patty for any signs of being held against her will. "Like... we've got TVs and video games and stuff, like, up the wazoo inside." She gestures in the direction of the mansion with her free hand.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
Monet just looks over at Patty. It's difficult to read her body language - she's strongly impassive and has the stance of someone that's constantly irritable but smoothing it over. There's little reaction over in her posture as she gazes upon the new student, and then speaks, "Welcome to Xavier's." Her tone is rather flat but at least it's avoiding the normal dismissiveness inherent to it! The student is new here, no need to spook her on one of her first days after all.

A quick scan given to the wings, and Monet considers to herself. Perhaps the girl could go in with flight lessons with Warren? Something for whomever is instructing her to offer. It was different using wings thans imply boosting onself psionically or however all those that had inherent flight abilities could manage, after all.

She gives a nod of acknowledgement over at Kitty, letting Katherine do the talking and introductions. Then at her own introduction to Patty.

Patty Sloan has posed:
The blonde smiles to Jubilee. "Yes I think it has to do with my abilities. Being inside a lot gets really stuffy to me." She gives a quizzical look to Jubes as she thinks, "You don't like the outdoors?" She asks curiously.

She turns to Kitty. "How did... I didn't see you go through the gate..." She blushes a little. "Nice to see you again Miss Pryde. Thank you again for the help the other night at the charity event. It was really nice getting to hang out with everyone." She smiles brightly as she looks around. "I really like this area. Its nice and kinda peaceful. I was going to let my wings out to see how it feels."

She looks at Monet and smiles. "Thank you. It is nice to meet you." Then to everyone she smiles, "Okay I am going to do this." She blushes and pulls her arms inside her sweatshirt. A moment later she pulls out a pair of belts. Two pairs of gossamer wings slip through the slits in the back of the sweatshirt. They unfold and stick out reflecting the light. "Well here they are." She blushes bright. "Not used to them being exposed."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Tommy gives Jubilee a sheepish grin. "Sorry, Miss Lee. I mean, Miss Jubilee. I mean, Jubilee," he says awkwardly. Hands stuffed in his pockets, and giving a tiny glare to Hambone and the other students who chuckle at him.

Kitty gives a little wave of her hand. "You can call me Kitty, most people do," she tells Patty. There's a little flap of wings, and Lockheed flits over to land on her shoulder. "And this is Lockheed. A friend I picked up along the way," she says, reaching up to give Lockheed's horns a scritch where they meet his head.

The other students gives a soft, "Ooo, wings?" and similar comments, and moves over around Patty, far enough back to give her space, but obviously interested in seeing them.

As the wings emerge and unfold, Kitty gives a soft, "Ooo. Very beautiful, Patty." She flashes the young woman a warm smile. Tommy is quick to complicate her on the wings, as is the girl with them. Hambone just kind of stares.

Jubilation Lee has posed:
"Huh? I like the outdoors!" Jubilee insists. She tilts the umbrella a little so she can peek up at the sky from underneath. The sun would soon be down and all her troubles will be at an end. "...But I'll like it a lot better in a few minutes." Jubilation doesn't explain why, but she does glance over in Monet's direction so she can contort her features into an expression that could be interpreted as 'don't say anything!' Jubes repositions the umbrella and casually shrugs one of her shoulders. "The best thing about being outside is the sun," she lies. "I love how it feels on my body." It all sounds so unnatural.

After Patty unfurls her wings, Jubilation puckers her lips and lets out a long, drawn out whistle. "Check those out!" she announces happily. Jubilation leans in and rests her chin on Hambone's shoulder. "I can put in a good word for you if you want," she tells him, waggling her eyebrows up and down as they both look in Patty's direction.

Monet St. Croix has posed:
The casual student yappage is now ignored over by Monet once the formal greetings are done. "A pleasure to make your acquaintance." Monet goes to speak rather politely over in turn to Patty. "You're welcome here at the Mansion." The girl is added to the list of the student body in her mind. One more to replace Hambone when Jubilee has that inevitable time where hiding the body is required and no questions will be asked.

"Here is a safe place to show yourself and not have to hide it." She's one to talk about having to hide things, given little miss perfect.

Patty Sloan has posed:
"I'm not used to having them out. My moms had my belt them up so I wouldn't draw attention to myself. They were worried I'd be bullied even more than I was." She gives them a little wiggle and flaps them. "God I haven't gotten to actually flap my wings in like forever. For the past two years I could only have them out when bathing or showering. Water makes them feel heavy." She blushes.

She smiles to the students complimenting her. "Aww thank you. It means a lot." She turns to Kitty and smiles. "Okay Kitty. Thank you. This is just really different." She smiles and flutters her wings, lifting herself off the ground for a brief moment. "I don't know if I can actually fly. I think it will taqke some practice."

She looks to Jubilee and smiles. She doesn't question the topic of the sun light and her. "You seem like a real night person though." She comments politely. "Nothing wrong with that. The night is really cool. Plus you get to see some cool stuff at night. Like Luna Moths!" She giggles. "They are my favorite months."

She looks to Monet and smiles to her. "Thank you. I am not used to being someplace so safe. I was bullied a lot back in my home town. Mostly for wearing glasses and being a late bloomer."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Monet gets an approving smile from Kitty at her greeting to Patty6. And Kitty does her best to hide her smile at the comment to Hambone. Who is still just kind of staring obliviously.

Lockheed gives little flaps of wings, though not trying to take off, perhaps his way of signaling his approval of Patty's wings. Kitty says to the new student, "A lot of people here can relate to the kind of things you've gone through. And I won't fault your parents for looking out for you. As it is we're careful about not revealing the school is one for mutants," Kitty explains.

"If you get to where you're safe to fly around, we own a lot of the land to the north so it's pretty safe flying that way without being scene. We do have Image Inducers, which can display a holographic image over a person's regular appearance. Though it's not as useful with something like wings as you'd have to keep them tucked anyway. But could serve for a trip of the beach long as you keep the folded," Kitty says.

She motions to the mansion. "We have a room that you'll get to practice flying in safely. It's called the Danger Room but don't worry about the name. It allows you to fall and be completely cushioned, among other, pretty wonderous things it can do."

Noriko Ashida has posed:
Noriko puts in some time in the student gardens, but is reminded that she needs to leave some things for others to do, constantly, which is why the speedster arrives with a gust only to stop, about to turn around, when she sees the congregated people.  It's the Hello Kitty umbrella that catches her eye, and so she just drops into the same velocity as everyone else and politely walks up to the group that has naturally circled around Patty when she unfurls her wings.

"No one got into the fungi did they?-oh, she has wings," Noriko says as if completely disappointed by something wholly mundane.

Jubilation Lee has posed:
Jubilation just lets the topic of the sun and the moths extinguish itself and begins to twirl her umbrella around and around and around in between her fingers. She stares up at it, content to disengage from the conversation for the moment. It doesn't need her until Kitty brings up the Image Inducers. Jubilation stops playing with the umbrella and makes a gagging sound. "Don't listen to her, Patty. You don't need one of those," she insists. "None of us do." It's a topic of some controversy, but Jubilation keeps her soapboxing brief.

Jubilee goes back to twirling the umbrella but this time while only standing on one foot. She keeps doing it until she hears Patty calling the mansion safe. It draws out a sudden chuckle from Jubilee. Instead of correcting her, Jubes stares forward with a stuck smile. "...Yep. Safe is totally what it is," she agrees, expanding her grin as she turns to see Monet and Kitty's reaction to that. "Totally and completely safe. Anyways, I'm gonna see how much it's gonna cost to order a pizza delivery guy.... I...I mean a pizza... Catch ya later, Patty!" Jubilation turns and leaves backwards, making sure to make kissy faces in Hambone's direction. Jubilee's mind is already made up about Hambone's crush on Patty. Jubilee turns to walk back to the mansion but not before giving Noriko's hip a little bump with her own as she passes.
