Jubilation Lee was a mutant from Beverly Hills, California who attended Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters until her untimely death at eighteen-years-old. Two days later, she awoke as an undead creature of the night -- a vampire! And now, Jubilee rises every evening to fight back the dark urges of who and what she is in her perpetual struggle to retain her humanity. Recently, she has taken control of the vampire community of Westchester, New York, where she aims to keep the peace between its mortal residents and the supernatural creatures secretly among them. With no sire to guide her, Jubilee is trying her best to make sense of a world she no longer fits into.

Timeline:
* February 14, 2003 - What a perfect world! A few months after Lee Zhan and Lee Jingyi move from China to Beverly Hills, California, they have their first and only child. They name her Jubilation "Jubilee" Lee.

* September 2, 2004 - Not long after learning to walk, Jubilation follows in the footsteps of her mother and begins training as a hopeful for the United States Olympic gymnastics team.

* March 15, 2016 - Barely a teenager, Jubilee is forced to move to the Beverly Hills Orphanage after her parents are murdered in front of their home in a horrible act of mistaken identity.

* April 16, 2017 - Even the orphanages in Beverly Hills are terrible. Within a year of entering the system, Jubilation runs away. She ends up living at the mall, which is not as great as it sounds.

* December 6, 2017 - The stress of her daily cat-and-mouse game with mall security activates Jubilee's latent mutant abilities. Now more than a mere nuisance, mall security hires outside contractors to handle their mutant problem.

* May 4, 2018 - Jubilation is rescued from the mall by the X-Men and brought to live and learn at Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters. Life begins turning around for Jubilee.

* June 15, 2019 - Jubilation gets a part-time job flipping burgers at Burger Shack. It's not glamorous work, but it gives her some walking-around money.

* July 29th, 2021 - In the summer before her senior year, Jubilation is at the wrong place at the wrong time and gets killed by a powerful curse intended for another.

* July 31, 2021 - A few nights later, Jubilation Lee rises from the dead, ready to start her senior year as a vampire. It's not easy.

* September 1, 2021 - Jubilee is fired from her part-time job, as Burger Shack's corporate policies only allow franchisees to employ the living.

* February 12, 2022 - The vampire Duke of Westchester arranges to marry Jubilation to further consolidate his power, resulting in her being kidnapped and imprisoned.

* February 12, 2022 - With help from her friends at Xavier's, Jubilation kills the vampire Duke and is declared Duchess of Westchester.

* June 10, 2022 - Against all odds, Jubilation finishes high school.

Defense Mechanism:
A bit of Jubilee's outward personality is a defense mechanism. Her life hasn't been easy, but peppering it with positivity makes it a little easier to swallow. In a way, she's the poster child for "Fake It Till You Make It." Still, sometimes she doesn't want to be positive at all. Even when she wants to throw stuff and stomp her feet, Jubilation smiles through it all so people don't get to see her having trouble. Jubilee only reveals the truth to those closest to her.

Impetuous:
While others might understand that "poor planning promotes poor performance," Jubilation is quick to action and eager to get going. While she doesn't necessarily like to make a move without a plan at all, Jubilee values quick response over hemming and hawing over each and every detail. She tends to make decisions quickly, allowing her gut and emotions to guide her instead of waiting around for cold, hard facts.

Loyalty:
Though it might be easy to accuse Jubilee of being aloof because of her carefree nature, she's extremely loyal to her friends. She forms bonds with people easily, especially those who have been cast out from the "in" crowd. One of the few ways to get on her bad side is to screw with the people she loves and cares about.

Proud:
Jubilation is proud of who and what she is. She was proud to be Chinese, proud to be a mutant, and now proud to be a vampire. Suggestions that she might be changed or cured are likely to be met with displeasure. She only bothers to retract her fangs or try to pass as alive only when it's necessary for her to blend in and disappear into normalcy.

Upbeat:
Though Jubilee has been through a lot in her life, she always presents as a sunny side up kind of gal. She has her bad days, like anyone else would, but she's always looking to find the bright side of any situation. Jubilee is quick with a joke to make the people around her smile and laugh and she's eager to share her half-full glass with the world.

Fireworks:
Jubilation can create sub-atomic explosions that vary in size, strength, color, and brightness. To the casual observer, these orbs look like little more than miniature explosions of light, quite capable of causing temporary blindness if they get bright enough. Their destructive power has a wide range, going from "ooh, those tickle!" all the way to the destruction of various materials, including metal, solid wood, and, yes, flesh. These explosions are completely controlled by Jubilee through thought, will, and creativity, and can even detonate at her mental command, allowing her to create "time bombs" that explode at strategic moments. While the technical term for these little beauties might be "plasmoids," Jubilee would tell you that they're her fireworks, they're dangerous, and that they're really dope at parties.

Vampire Powers:
Being a vampire, Jubilee is stronger and faster than most mortals. She can punch through doors and windows and even briefly dodge bullets. Her senses of sight and sound are particularly keen, allowing her to see in almost total darkness and pick up sounds that normal ears just can't. In a quiet room, Jubilation can even hear the sound of a person's heartbeat from within their chest. Since she's undead, Jubilation will never get sick or age or die. She rises each night looking the way she did when she was turned at eighteen years old. She always has that same split-end she had that night and any piercings or tattoos she might get will need to be redone every night. Wounds recover at an incredible rate. Mundane ones usually heal within minutes, while supernatural wounds (such as a splash of holy water) can take longer, even days or weeks.

For transportation, Jubilation can transform into a bat and fly short distances. It's not an effective way to travel but it can help escape a bad situation in a pinch. Her strongest ability is what she calls "glamouring." With just eye contact, Jubilee can create confusing mental effects among mortals, influencing them to do things for her or forget things they've seen or heard. How effective this might be is a direct product of how much she's able to interact with the mortal and how strong of mind they might be. Jubilee is still working on learning to control this, so it's not uncommon for her to wear sunglasses, even indoors, to prevent accidents.

Oh, and Jubilation has four razor sharp fangs capable of tearing through flesh: two canines on top, two on the bottom. Wounds from Jubilation's fangs can be healed with a lick of her tongue, should she need to feed without leaving a trace.

Artist:
Jubes likes art, and why shouldn't she? It's beautiful. She's also not bad at creating art, specifically paintings, and it's one of the reasons she's able to keep such a sunny disposition in the face of insurmountable adversity.

Electronics:
Having picked up some skills in electronics during her time with other X-men, Jubilee can figure out the basics of a lot of machines. She may not understand all of the theory, but fixing or breaking what's already there is possible. Makes her super handy when the fry machine at Burger Shack goes down.

Fighting:
The physical education curriculum at Xavier's has prepared Jubilation to face whatever dangers might be waiting for her. Jubilee's personal style is a unique blend of gymnastics and capoeira dancing, making her a speedy, agile little thing in a fight. She's rarely where her opponent expects, making her strikes hard to anticipate and her body difficult to hit. Not only can Jubilee throw fists and feet with the best of them, she's going to look cool doing it, too.

First-Aid:
As part of her education at Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters, Jubilation is certified in CPR and First-Aid. She's no medic, but she can stabilize someone in a pinch until professionals arrive. Notably, she's familiar with the unusual injuries and wounds one might receive during a fight that involves mutant powers.

Gymnastics:
Once a hopeful for the Olympic games, Jubilation has been training in gymnastics since she was a little girl. Her movements are graceful and fluid, striking a fine balance of trained precision and intuitive, innate skill. Her repertoire of moves include all the usual suspects, such as handstands, handsprings, splits, walkovers, round-offs, somersaults, and so on. She can also pull off some of the more difficult moves that combine others, such as Cheng vaults. Jubilation brings these skills with her into battle and normal life, allowing her to use her environment to her advantage. She can vault over obstacles, free-run through complicated terrain, and ascend and descend the environment in non-standard ways. She always looks cool doing it.

Leadership:
An ability first developed and cultivated in her time as a student at Xavier's, Jubilation has the potential to offer leadership in the chaos of a bad situation. While not everyone will agree with her impetuous approach to problems, Jubes can direct a group to work together and provide the necessary support and care for team members who might need a helping hand. And, of course, like any good leader, she knows when it's best to just shut up and follow.

Skating:
Anyone who has seen Jubilee skate could be forgiven for assuming she was born with wheels on her feet. Jubilation is an expert-level skater and can easily skate forwards, backwards, briefly on walls, and even down handrails. This natural affinity for skating has also extended to other movement sports, including snowboarding, skateboarding, and even surfing.

Ukulele:
There's just something about the ukulele that Jubilee has been attracted to. Even though she can't write or read music, Jubes has been playing the ukulele for years. Thanks to an endless supply of tablature on the internet, along with just an abundance of time practicing, Jubilee is on a mission to prove once and for all that only four strings are necessary to make wonderful music.

Vampires of Westchester:
While its name "Great Vampire Nation of Westchester" is a matter of some controversy, as it is neither great nor a nation, this is a regional vampire coven with its seat of power squarely in Salem Center, New York. Though it generally falls in line with the mortal-drawn borders of Westchester County, its figurehead is called Duke or Duchess. Mortals would likely have difficulty noticing their differences to the more cosmopolitan vampires of New York City, but the Westchester Vampires are more rural in their concerns and sometimes looked down upon by the city vampires. As Duchess, Jubilation has the entire coven's resources at her disposal, at least she thinks she does. She can use their ravens to send messages, spies to gather intelligence, and even get a great discount at the movie theater in town, depending on who's working that night. Still, though, there are plenty in Westchester who plot against her, so there's equal chance her raven drops her message into a lake instead of delivering it.

Xavier's:
As an alumna of Xavier's School For Gifted Youngsters, Jubilation is afforded a host of benefits. She has access to some very powerful friends and some of the finest training facilities in the world. The most important aspect of Xavier's, however, is the Danger Room. As a student, the Danger Room was able to create realistic training simulations using the finest hologram technology, but now Jubilee uses it for something else entirely. Jubilation is able to routinely run through custom Danger Room programs designed to help her work through her insatiable vampire desires, rather than foolishly try to fight them.

Bad Student:
Jubilee's report card has never been exceptional. It's not necessarily that she's unintelligent, but rather uninterested and underwhelmed. She doesn't apply herself to scholarly pursuits as hard as she should and it really shows. She's happy to throw herself into almost anything, but putting a book in front of her face is a surefire way to direct her attention to something else.

Dyscalculia:
Jubilee was diagnosed with this learning disability at a very young age. She always struggled in school, but the deck was truly stacked against her with math class. Numbers just don't really make sense to her no matter how hard she might try. She's fine with simple arithmetic but anything further than that is a real struggle for her. Fortunately, her smart phone has a calculator built right in so this isn't as much of a strategic problem as it might be a social one. It can be embarrassing.

Insatiable Hunger:
Jubilation is driven by an insatiable need to consume blood. She might be able to kid herself into thinking she's not a monster and that nothing has changed, but it all comes crashing down like a house of cards if she's hungry. All of her vampire powers require blood. Even the simple acts of moving, talking, and appearing alive require it. If she's hungry, she won't be able to do anything until that hunger is satiated. She won't be able to think. She won't be able to be reasoned with. Nothing and no one will be able to stop her from getting it, even herself. It is imperative that she remain fed to avoid doing something that she might regret forever. Jubilation is a monster, a creature of the night, and every moment is an ongoing struggle to keep it together.

Mortals:
Unlike many vampires, Jubilation has not abandoned her place in the mortal world. She still surrounds herself with mortal friends and allies and remains involved in their lives. This can make things a bit harder for Jubilation compared to her peer, both living and dead. To some vampires, she could be considered an oddity and the subject of ridicule for her apparent fascination with the mortal world. For the living, no matter how much they might try, some just have a hard time lowering their guard around her. For Jubilee herself, it can be difficult to be split between these two worlds.

Mutant:
While there are plenty of benefits to being a mutant, Jubilation lives in a world that is naturally distrusting of them. Humanity does not yet seem ready to accept mutants as people, which can make life as a mutant a bit harder. In addition to a handful of powerful, mutant-hating organizations, there are also small town threats to worry about. Ordinary humans with hatred in their hearts exist everywhere and just one wrong turn could put Jubilation in contact with them.

New Blood:
Jubilation's transformation into a creature of the night was not by the tips of another vampire's fangs, but rather the result of some very dark magic. Lineage is important to vampires but Jubilation's lack thereof makes her an oddity. Word travels fast. She has no vampire she can call her sire, so she's something of a wildcard to vampires who are aware of her. Many view her as the start of a brand new bloodline and should be regarded with appropriate reverence. Some are scared of the many unknowns that surround her creation. Lurking in the shadows, however, are no shortage of elder vampires who see her as a threat that must be handled as soon as possible. Wherever Jubilation might travel, there are vampires there who would like to do her harm to protect their status quo.

Obviously a Vampire:
There are plenty of individuals and organizations out there that would love to stake a vampire. It's kind of easy to figure out what Jubilee is if she's not careful. Jubilee doesn't cast a reflection anymore, nor does she breathe or blink or sigh or any of those little touches of life that mortals do without thinking. Jubilee can do these things on purpose, as a series of learned actions, but it requires her attention and concentration. This can make it difficult for her to blend in effectively. She can't eat regular food anymore. Not only does it taste bland and unappealing to her, she just can't keep it down. Animals freak out at her mere presence, usually with an initial display of aggression followed by intense fear. Jubilation is one of those vampires that broadcasts unnerving beauty. She's magical and mesmerizing and moves with a supernatural grace that borders on indulgent. If she's not paying attention to what she's doing, she won't even bob up and down while walking normally. This can make it very clear that something is just weird and off about her.

Orphaned:
Jubilation lost her parents at a very young age and was forced to face the world on her own. While there wasn't anything she could've done to prevent their deaths, Jubilee carries a bit of guilt about it and that can be exploited by those clever enough to know about it.

Underwhelmed:
Jubilee doesn't really care about scholastic things. She doesnt' apply herself in school half as hard as she should and it shows. All other aspects of her life? Breeze. She'll throw herself into almost anything, but you put a book infront of her about History or some cacoodie math and the lights are definitely going off.

Vampire Curse:
Being a vampire comes with plenty of shortcomings. Jubilation can't enter consecrated ground. In fact, she has an extreme fear of religious symbols, especially when held by someone whose faith is strong. She can't enter a private residence without first being invited in. She'd tell you that it's rude to enter someone's home so she chooses not to, but she really just can't do it no matter hard she might try. Garlic is an effective deterrent and will even incapacitate her temporarily if ingested. Purified silver and holy water create vicious wounds that last and are slow and difficult to heal. Jubilee can be killed for good with methods made famous in the movies. A wooden stake through her heart will turn her to dust. Decapitation works just as well. Ultraviolet light, sunlight especially, will burn her to a crisp and then eventually to dust after just a few minutes of direct exposure. Of course, her greatest weakness of all is her thirst for blood and innate need to kill.

Jubilee finds out the finer points of teenage adoption after bringing the right/wrong balloons. Next stop: The boarder of Egypt and Sudan, Village in the Reeds... to find the last person who was killed by this curse embedded now in Phoebe Beacon's shoulder.

PoP: Vanished	October 14th, 2021	Another thinning, but this time it's different. This time John and his allies get a peek at what might be behind them. The Laughing Magician came through the final battle mostly fine for a change. But then Jubilee nearly killed him without even knowing she was doing so. Another day ending in Y, innit?
So Close And Yet So Far	October 12th, 2021	After Nori puts her foot in her mouth, Jubes storms off. Nori makes chase and reveals that she's not handling their new living situations as well as Jubilee thought.
Mandarin Express	October 11th, 2021	In an effort to turn her vampiric bloodlust into a positive, Jubilee is in the Danger Room, drilling through a program made up of feral vampires for her to to slay. Rogue stops by, shouting in Mandarin whenever tensions get high. She just got back from a mission in China, where she absorbed a rock-skinned Chinese mutant, so give her a break, wouldya!? The two discuss the Brotherhood and Jubilee's new status as a vampire, drawing connections to their shared experiences growing up mutant.
Blood Oath	October 9th, 2021	The day started with Jubilation Lee deciding she wanted 'in' and ended ... well, it's just been a day. But John'll FIX IT, because it's just what he does.

Instead of finding them, she is caught by Phoebe Beacon and John Constantine. It goes about as well as one might expect from a meeting between a vampire and vampire hunters. Phoebe gets sent to bed without supper and John has a score to settle.
Tracking down the Fireworks	October 1st, 2021	Phoebe and Jubilee meet in a late-night coffee shop to suss out some facts, and a second chance for Jubilee to get some help with her dietary concerns - hemoglobin!. Phoebe gets a pair of boots, and an invite to Prom.

They discuss vampire sleeping arrangements and decide to take advantage of the fact that Noriko can't electrocute Jubilee on account of her being dead alread. So, naturally, they decide to go swimming.

Moving Out	September 21st, 2021	It's decided that Jubilation is too much of a danger to room with Noriko, so the pair begin the task of packing up her stuff so Jubes can move to the other building. Promises of banana bread are made.
Figuring out Pool	September 18th, 2021	Dashenka meets many new people! She also might have made a friend. Yay! Also, pool was played.
Six Feet Under	September 14th, 2021	While taking Jeepers for an evening walk, Rogue stumbles upon Jubilee dragging a large garbage bag out to the woods to be buried. She lends a hand and becomes an accessory to...whatever was happening. The two talk about the nature of vampires and what might be done about her situation. Rogue shares an important detail about Coney Island, starting Jubilee on a dark quest for answers.
Let The Right RA In	September 13th, 2021	Jubilee drops by Roxxi's room, unannounced, to check to see how she's settling in. She doesn't dare enter without an invitation and Roxxi doesn't dare give one. They spend some time walking around the grounds and talking about what brought her to Xavier's.
Making Amends	September 12th, 2021	Jubilation goes to make amends with the horses in the stables after the incident with Sergeant. Instead of forgiveness, she finds a new friend in Michael Erickson.

Jubilation Lee's Medical Exam	August 6th, 2021	Jubilee reports to Doctor McCoy for a much-needed medical examination. He checks her vitals, draws some blood, and tries to get an account of what has happened to her. Unfortunately, she really doesn't know much, except for something about a disappointing British guy who gave her a ride home.
Chevaline, The Other Red Meat	August 6th, 2021	Dyani, Noriko, and Rogue discover a dead horse that was drained of its blood by a mysterious hooded figure, who promptly escapes into the night. Moments later, Jubilation Lee joins the group, apparently not dead at all. Noriko was right! Dyani remains suspicious, however, as there's just something not right about Jubilee -- something difficult to place and even harder to communicate. Dyani wrangles the living horses while the others leave to get help.

Furby Or Bust	January 5th, 2021	Conner Kent, Ruth Aldine, and Jubilation Lee meet in Chinatown, purely on accident, and go in search of the regional distributor of Furbies. They instead find a dusty little shop where the shopkeeper gets more Ruth than he bargained for!
