Meeting for a bite to eat.

Synopsis:	Plans to help Patty with her future are made.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie has arranged to meet Izzy for something at the Dinner. Sam has the day off, and is in the mood for something a bit different, and it is close enough they both should be able to get there without to much out the way for either of them. So, Sam is here sitting at the counter, as he waits for one of the booths to empty and for Izzy to get here.

Isabel Kane has posed:
Always glad for an excuse to see Sam, Izzy readily agrees to meet at the diner for a bite to eat. It doesn't take her long to get outside of the city and over to Westchester, the traffic isn't too bad, and she's rolling up into the diner right around the agreed upon time.

Stepping inside, she glances around before spotting Sam at the counter, lifting her hand in a wave and smiling brightly at him. She's 'business casual' today; a brown leather 'blazer' over a deep blue top that halts just shy of pair of darkwash bootcut jeans with a thick brown leather belt at the hips and a pair of stylish ankle boots. Her hair is up in a shoulder-length ponytail, and her everpresent 'sunglasses' are perched atop her head.

"Hey Sam! Hope ya weren't waiting too long." Approaching him, she'll lean in to kiss his cheek before sliding onto the stool next to him. "How's your day been?"

Patty Sloan has posed:
Patty Sloan is hungry. She doesn't exactly want Cafeteria food again so she decides to head out and try out the diner thats nearby the school. She walks down Graymalkin Lane and arrives at Mel's Roadside Diner. Quietly she walks in hoping that this time there won't be any fifth dimensional beings deciding to change the decor of a diner she is visiting.

As she walks in she makes note of the people present. Namely the blonde haired guy with the blue eyes. Has she seen him around the school for college classes? She doesn't really know. All she knows is she needs something to eat and pronto. She quickly takes a seat and is given a menu. She looks through the menu trying to make a choice.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie smiles and gives Isabel a kiss on the cheek back, and hugs her with one arm. As she sits on one side of him, there is a couple stools on the other side of each of them free. He does look over at the door as someone comes in. Seeing a girl he is pretty sure he has seen at the school he will nod in greeting. Then back to Izzy "Ah did not know if you would be in the office up this way or not, so figured we could grab something here. "Heard they do pretty good spiedies here, so figured give it a try and see what they were like,"

Isabel Kane has posed:
Izzy shifts on the stool to give Sam a quick hug in return before following his glance towards the girl that comes in. She offers a friendly smile but doesn't go any further, instead murmuring to Sam, "She one of the kids at the school?" Then he's mentioning spiedies and she grins, "Oh Hell yeah I want to try the spiedies. Those things are so good, and you can't really get 'em outside of the New York area."

Patty Sloan has posed:
"Can I get a cheeseburger, some fries, and a Soder Zero?" She asks of the waitress who is waiting for her order. She quickly makes her way to the window to give the order to the cook. "Thank you!" She says with a smile. To Sam she gives a polite wave. Then another is given to Isabel when she gives a smile to her.

Her drink is brought out and given to her. She quickly takes a long sip of the drink before smiling. "Ahhh that is so much better. I'm sorry you look familiar" She states to the blond haired man.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods to Patty and nods "Your the new girl who just started at Xavier's?" He asks her and says "Ah'm Sam Guthrie, and this is Isabel Kane. Ah help out up at the school." He tells her. Sam has a few odd jobs at the school, as well as his jobs outside of it. Sam is a busy guy.

Isabel Kane has posed:
"Hi there. I don't work at the school, but I have friends and contacts there.' Isabel lifts a hand towards Patty before looking to the waitress and putting in an order for an unsweet iced tea and lamb spiedies, then glancing to Sam for his order.

Patty Sloan has posed:
The blonde smiles and nods, "Nice to meet you Sam and Miss. My name is Patty Sloan. I am the new girl at school. Still getting adjusted to school life if you know what I mean." She states. The girl is hiding her wings at the moment, not wanting to tip off that she is a mutant to people who are unaware. "I needed a break from Cafeteria food. So I came here. Its nice! I like it here. Better than the last diner I went to." Of course the last diner was interfered with by Mr. Mxyzptlk. She then goes quiet and focuses on the dessert menu. There are a few things on there that are catching her attention.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie will get a sweet tea, and some of each type of spiedies, with some fries on the side. "Yea, Ah remember when Ah first came to school up here, our closest non school food was Harry's or the Big Belly Burger down the road." He offers with a smile "If there is anything you need help with at the school let me know, Ah remember how it is to be new." He then looks to Isabel, and says "You would be amazed at some of the things we ended up getting into, but then that year class was a lot smaller.

Isabel Kane has posed:
"Isabel. Or Izzy. Either way," she offers to Patty with a chuckle. "I can't say that I blame you. Cafeteria food is always dodgy at best. At least your school will let you off campus for lunch. The one I went to, only seniors could leave campus before the end of the day." She glances to Sam and grins, "I bet. You definitely got into more in high school than I ever did. Took me years to start getting into anything. But when I did, I got into ALL of it."

Patty Sloan has posed:
Patty finds what she is looking for. She smiles and sets the dessert menu down, waiting for her food. Dessert will be good tonight! "I think there is always a Big Belly Burger right down the road no matter where you live. Growing up there was one right down the road from where I lived. So goes the chain I suppose." She smiles and then there is the offer of help. She smiles, "I'm good, that is unless you know a workout for back muscles!" She laughs a little bit.

"A pleasure to meet you Isabel!" She smiles and gives a polite wave. "I didn't get into anything in high school. I was bullied a lot and it kinda kept me from getting into much of anything. But now that I am doing college stuff, I am totally going to get into more stuff."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie smirks and says "Well, Ah blame Berto and Illy for most of our mischief, Ah was ussually the one who was trying to reel things in." He admits. He hmmms a bit and remembers a bit more about Patty as she mentions her back, and he looks over where her wings are hidden. "Well, you could possibly talk to Warren, or.." He reaches for a napkin and a pen and writes a number down on it and the name Jay. "This is my brother, he might have some advice for ya that might help." He pulls his phone out and brings up a picture on it, where only Patty and Izzy can see it. It is Sam, Paige, Jay and Melody. Melody is one of the lower class at the school Jay though can be seen to have Red wings in the picture.

Isabel Kane has posed:
Izzy smiles back at Patty, "Pleasure's all mine." She gives a nod, "Yeah, I hear you. Wasn't really a whole lot of room for me to get into anything in high school, though I think that always disappointed granddad a bit. It wasn't even college... it wasn't until, well.. college took longer than I'd hoped." She lifts a shrug and looks to the picture Sam pulls up, smiling at it. "Man, I can't get over all the siblings. I have to admit, Sam, I'm jealous of the big family."

Patty Sloan has posed:
Patty looks at the picture and smiles. "Those are so cool!" She smiles. "Mine are not like that." She states not being really clear about what she is talking about. Instead she just says one word, "Gossamer." She smiles a little smile. She is proud of her wings, she just can't show them off. "I have to use belts to keep things down because they can be very expressive."

The waitress comes out and sets down her burger and fries. She then heads back to the kitchen. Patty turns her attention to Izzy and smiles to her. "Thankfully I could hide everything for most of my time in high school. It wasn't until I got out of high school that my secret came out." She frowns. "When it came out, it came out really harsh." She blushes.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods a bit to this and says "Ah was 16 when I joined, and ahs a bit and says "Ah Pixie might be able help out some." He looks over to Izzy and says "You say that now, but trust me at times." He is smiling though he obviously did enjoy having a big family. He hmmms a bit and says "Dr. McCoy may have something that would help you restrain them without as much problems releasing them if need be,"

Isabel Kane has posed:
"Belts? That sounds uncomfortable. We could get you a compression top to help keep things contained.. maybe with some 'vents' to help things free up as needed?" Izzy glances to Sam, then grins, "Or, well, the school could, I'm sure. They've found some great solutions to some really interesting problems." Then she's looking to Patty again and giving a nod, "I don't 'hide' so much as just.. well.. I'm already pretty public. But. I also work for SHIELD so.. only so much 'public' is allowed." Chuckling at Sam, she shakes her head, "There's times for being the only child, too. I'd take the big family if it were an option."

Patty Sloan has posed:
"I will have to talk to him. I haven't met Dr. McCoy yet. I heard a little about him. I heard from Mr. Worthington that he was a Smart Jock type. Like Super smart." She smiles.

She turns her attention to Isabel and nods. "Its how I've done it since I was 16. That's when things started for me. It sucked. I was held at gunpoint at my old job." She shudders. "Guns still freak me out." "Oh that is cool! I don't think I'd be smart enough to work for SHIELD or any big government thing." She smiles a soft smile as she considers what she will do with her life. "I need to figure out what I am going to major in." She comments as she takes a bite out of her burger.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks to the girl and says "Ah am sure if you set your mind to it you could work pretty much anywhere you wanted. And Ah can understand that a lot of us first develop at a stressful moment. He eats some of his food and says "What type of things are you interested in?" Yup Sam being the big brother helpful type.

Isabel Kane has posed:
"Oh, I'm not exactly a genius or anything. I have a BA in Astronomy, sure, but that's not why I got hired on," Izzy offers a faint grin towards Patty. "I'm a field agent and... well, sort of an ambassador." She lifts a shrug, then looks to Sam with a nod, "He's right." Looking back Patty to see where her interests lie.

Patty Sloan has posed:
"I've always liked helping people. Its why I worked at a Thrift Store that was a Non-profit. They helped the homeless and people who were down on their luck." She thinks about it a little and smiles. "I also like fashion a little. I kinda made a few cosplay outfits that I never got to use. Never got to go to conventions because of having to hide stuff." She sighs. Quietly she takes a sip of her soda and then another bite of her burger.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie hmms a bit and says "Well, Ah know someone who might be able to help ya get into a fashion internship, Ah will talk to a couple of folks Ah know see if they can maybe help ya get your foot in the door. Then there is a specific tailor who might be interested in some help too. Ah will see what I can find out "As for helping folks there are career paths that can help there to, Ah ended up becoming a cop.

Isabel Kane has posed:
"Well, I'm definitely no help in the fashion department. 'Farmgirl chic' is about as close as I get," Izzy chuckles before motioning to Sam with a nod. "Well there ya go. He's got the fashion hookup. FOr the others.. social services always needs more good people. It tends to be a difficult job, if only because you can't always help people within the constraints of the programs they're in. Though, there's also nothing to stop you from suggesting alternatives that they might qualify for through other organizations or companies."

Patty Sloan has posed:
The younger girl smiles and listens to the potential opportunities that she could have access to. "Wait I could actually be a fashion designer? That would be so cool!" She smiles. "I would have to study art and actually have to get my sewing kit up here. I know how to knit too so that would help. I could do volunteer work to help out people and stuff. I can do both right? That would be so awesome!"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods a bit and starts to say something more and then his phone rings and he looks at it "Um, gotta take this work, Ah will be right back." He leans in kisses Izzy's cheek before heading out the door answering his phone "Officer Guthrie here, how can Ah help you?"

Isabel Kane has posed:
Chuckling, Izzy nods at Patty, "I'm sure we can help you get whatever you need if that's where your passion lies." WHen Sam has to take a call, Izzy gives a nod and returns the cheek kiss, then looks back to Patty with a smile, "And hey, if you DO want to go into SHIELD to help people, I can definitely offer more insight there."

Patty Sloan has posed:
"I am kinda skittish around guns. Ever since I got held up, I am just a little freaked out by them. I suppose if I could get over that I could try SHIELD. That would be pretty cool." She smiles a little as she eats a french fry. "I really like the idea of using what I can do to help people." A few people eyeball her at that sentence. "I can work a cash register like no one's business!" She states quickly to cover up what she was talking about.

Isabel Kane has posed:
Izzy sends a look towards anyone that side-eyes Patty, "What, anyone got a problem with a girl being combat trained?" Shaking her head, she looks back to the younger woman and smiles, "Don't mind them. Some people still think women belong in the kitchen." She rolls her eyes, then chuckles, "And while gun handling is certainly useful, it's not always required."

Patty Sloan has posed:
"I've never actually used a gun before. I am just skittish about being in front of one of those. It was a rough evening when that happened. Something happened to the gunman and they got pinned on the floor." She snickers. "I still freak out over it but no one got hurt at least. We zip-tied the gunman up and called the cops immediately. She then looks around and nods. "Yeah... My place is definitely not in the kitchen. I am a horrible cook!"

"Yeah you only need to know how to make me a sandwich." A gruff voice comments. "That and another thing!" He comments rudely.

"That's enough George. Eat your soup before you get thrown out again." The waitress comments to him.

Isabel Kane has posed:
"See? Just general misogyny, nothing to worry about," Izzy flashes a quick smile towards Patty even as she waves a hand at George. Dismissing the man from her thoughts, she gives a nod, "It's never easy being in front of a gun. Seasoned agents and military still get nervous and skittish about it. But there's also more to do at SHIELD than just be a field agent. We have people from all walks of life and interest. If it's something that interests you, don't let one thing keep you from it."

Patty Sloan has posed:
"I think I need training no matter what. I started going jogging every morning and stuff. I have my other muscles I need to train too. I wanna take some self defense classes and all so I am not as fearful anymore." She then closes her eyes. Suddenly George gets a gust of air blowing across his soup. Its sharp enough to splash soup on him.

"AHH! The Air Conditioner is on the fritz again!" George yells a the waitress.

The waitress walks over to the air conditioner and checks it. "Its not even on. You are just clumsy as usual."

"But I felt it." George laments and sighs. He goes back to eating his soup.

Isabel Kane has posed:
"The school can help you with they. They have some of the best self-defense teachers I've seen. You might have to do it outside of your classes, but they can definitely help you." Izzy smiles, glancing over at the commotion George is making, rolling her eyes and looking back to Patty. "Aaaaaaaaaaanyways. There's whole regiments to follow that will help improve your muscle tone, flexibility, stamina... and then you can also do the classes for actual self-defense!"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie makes his calls, and after a few moments, he comes back into the place. A brow raised at the guy who seems to be making a mess while eating his soup. He looks to the two and waits to have a seat between them when they have paused a moment "Had to deal with some paperwork someone lost."

Patty Sloan has posed:
Patty nods, "I totally wanna learn. I can do it if I just put my mind to it." She eats a couple more French fries. Then reaching to the edge of the booth she is in, she grabs some ketchup and puts it on the fries. "There we go!" She eats a few more of the ketchup covered fries and smiles. "Mmmm So yum!" She turns her attention back to Izzy and as George gets a little comeuppance She raises her eyebrows and flashes a smirk. Yup She totally did that. And there was Justice for the women that George harassed before! "Welcome back Sam." She states as she happily takes a sip of her drink.

Isabel Kane has posed:
Izzy welcomes Sam back with a smile and a quick hug, "Totally fine, we've been having a great chat. Glad you're back, though." She looks past Sam to Patty and grins, "You got this. And if you want, I can help train with you too. We can work on three dimensional tactics, and I promise.. you can't hurt me if things get a little intense. I'm pretty sturdy when I want to be."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods a bit to the two of them and says "Oh did Ah miss anything important?" He asks them as he munches a fry trying to catch up now.

Patty Sloan has posed:
Patty finishes off her burger. She washes it down with her drink before diving into some more of her fries. "I would really like that. Thank you very much." She states as she consumes a few more fries. "Oh yeah? That's really cool. I don't know how to get intense. I barely know how to throw a punch." She laughs a little laugh.

Isabel Kane has posed:
"Naaaaaah, just your garden variety misogyny from what seems to be a local known asshole," Izzy tilts her head in George's direction before smiling at Sam. "Nothing we couldn't handle." Nodding to Patty, she smiles, "Be happy to. And trust me, when adrenaline is high, you'll find yourself capable of a lot more than you realize."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods, and says "Oh, Ah also sent word to Ms Grey about your interest, not sure how much will come of it, but she knows, and she has had some experience modeling a while back. " He sips his drink and says Ah will also talk to a few others to see what I can find out for you."

Patty Sloan has posed:
"Ms. Grey! Cool! I haven't met her yet. Looking forward to meeting her." She smiles remembering that she is one of the X-men. She looks at Izzy and nods back to her with a grin on her face. "Oh yeah? Maybe I will surprise myself..." She trails off as she stuffs another fry into her mouth. "This is going to be so much fun!"

Isabel Kane has posed:
"She's very nice, you'll like her, I think." Izzy smiles at Patty, then leans in to nudge at Sam. "Speaking of. You and I should train sometime. Get those 3-D team tactics working for us." Since they can both fly, that is. She sips on her tea and munches on her spiedies, and is generally quite pleased with how this impromptu lunch is going!

Sam Guthrie nods and says "Yea, and maybe get you to come help out with some training for some of the kids to, Most of the newer kids don't have the maneuverability problems Ah did, but at least Ah can plow through things Ah crashed into.

Patty Sloan has posed:
Patty smiles and nods. "I look forward to meeting her." She finishes off her fries and quickly looks at the menu again. Then to the Waitress she speaks up, "Hiya, Can I get the blueberry pie and a scoop of Vanilla ice cream?" She asks curiously.

Isabel Kane has posed:
"Sure. If Jean is alright with me helping out, I don't mind volunteering a few hours to help with lessons," Izzy offers with a smile, more than happy to help make sure the fliers can be just as combat-ready as the ground folk! And in this case, she was trained by actual bird-people, which should help! She glances at Patty and smiles, then makes sure to corral the waitress in close to murmur for Patty's food to be put on their bill.

Sam Guthrie is finishing his food. He had taken a bit of a break with his food cause of the phone call. "Ah think you will find the school has a lot of things that will help you with a lot of things."
