Cast of Characters: Naria Shepard, Elliot Hayes, Keagan Nichols

Naria Shepard has posed:
Some mutants and metas hid their powers, cloaked what made them different and brought it out only when necessary. For Rave? She'd embraced it wholey. Then again, when your eyes were luminescent and your hair was a faintly glowing neon blue, what else could one do? The 'bluenette' performer had put out a call for a current gig, a show rather than simply DJ'ing music...and that required help.

Even a speedster couldn't play multiple instruments and sing two sets of vocals without it sounding all reverby and weird as hell!

Short skirt, net shirt over a bikini top and glowing bands around her wrist as she gripped the microphone, Rave looked very much like she lived up to her name as she belted out the vocals from the stage. A break was coming at the end of the song, but this? This was something almost as thrilling for the young meta as running at hyper speeds!

Elliot Hayes has posed:
Elliot answered an ad in a newspaper. In retrospect it was probably more work than she had anticipated. The blondee is all smiles and extremely helpful. She peels off on two occasions to help the staff with malfunctioning equipment before returning to tune her guitar. The issue comes in when one addresses her.. First of all, the girl rather sheepishly fails to introduce herself when asked, instead referring to herself as 'the help'. She has a tendency to point at things rather than bothering to name them. A question about what sort of guitar Elliot plays earns one of the other badn members a blank stare. On the other hand...? She can play.

As the first set winds down so they can break Ellie is there ot offer the speedster a fresh bottle of water and a warm smile. Nameless blonde? Yes. But friendly, at least. And the equipment is all behaving now.

Keagan Nichols has posed:
For his part, Keagan had heard that there was something of a show going on done by a metahuman. It seemed like just the kind of humanizing piece he could put together for his blog that would make people feel good. He wasn't really sure if he'd like the music but the story sounded good. As such, he came to the show to listen to music, he is far more here for the story. Now he has put on his usual clothes, baggy and comfortable, to come out and see this show.

he has to admit it is quite a thing to see if not listen to.

Now, he is standing near to the stage, enjoying what he is seeing only to notice an upcoming break and an opportunity to get some quotes. He is positioning himself near to the right spot where he might catch Rave.

Naria Shepard has posed:
Sometimes she'd get away with it, but the place she was in tonight was rather clued in. As Rave steps from the stage the only drink that's waiting for her is a soda! The blue haired girl exhales a breath and tilts her head to the side with a glance towards Elliot, giving a flash of a smile. "How're you holding up?" she questions the blonde lightly, gesturing for her to order something. Drinks were probably covered....hopefully.

"It can be a bit crazy huh? But that's half the fun!"

Already the high-energy songstress was reaching down into her boot, drawing out her phone while she talked to Elliot. She hadn't quite spotted Keagen just yet!

Elliot Hayes has posed:
"I'm okay. Think I need to check the- um-" Elliot gestures caguely toward the backstage area before adding somewhat wrily, "The equipment again. BUt it sounds pretty good. Are you liking the resonance effects? We could scale up the reverb a little and make the place sound a little fuller."

Elliot returns Rave's smile with one of her own, dimples on full display as green eyes light ip. She's dressed more casually, in slightly faded jeans and a "Blue Monday" t-shirt, with a glowing wrist band to mark her as technically underage. That doesn't stop the girl ordering and then downing coca-cola at a fairly alarming rate.

It is on the return trip from the bar with drinks for the band that Elliot, arms full of glasses, finds herself not quite stumbling into Keagan. "Sorry, drinks coming through... Sec." The diminutive blonde manages to pivot on a foot, circumnavigate the reporter, and get back to the stage without too many issues. At least she's nimble.

Now is the probably the best chance Keagan is going to get to interrupt. Who knows how the show will go from here?

Keagan Nichols has posed:
A look over at Elliot briefly as he is nearly ran into and Keagan steps up toward where Rave is with a smile. He lifts his head slightly in greeting and offers a wide smile, "Hey, nice show." He nods his head, "Name is Keagan Nichols." He offers a hand over casually, "I write on local stories and the like. You seemed like a pretty good story." He chuckles, "ANd based on that show, I don't think I was wrong."

Naria Shepard has posed:
"It's working fine, really!" Rave speaks, waving her hand dismissively at Elliot's supposed need to check the electronics again. "Hell, better than usual! Relax. We're goin' to be up on stage again soon enough, you have to take a break where you can!"

A little shift of her form to lean against the table by the time the drinks come back, she turns to face Keagan and give a little nod. The hand is taken, shaken lightly and then released as she shrugs her mostly bared shoulders. "Thanks! Always trying to get positive stuff out there! Have you seen my social media page?"

Even talented artists with a glowing gimic needed all the promotion they could get. "I'm Rave by the way!" Apparently the girl only went by the name she used on stage rather than anything more 'normal'.

Elliot Hayes has posed:
"Well. I try to keep active during shorter sets. Keeps the nerves away, you know?" Rave's handed a drink, the nanother of the backup musicians, and finally Elliot herself is sipping on a coke with no ice, propped not too far from where Keagan and Rave are having their conversation, watching thoughtfully. The blonde seems more than contnet to let the incandescent blue-nette do all of the talking.

Keagan Nichols has posed:
A smile over at Elliot and he nods to her, "And who are you? Sound like you are keeping things running so the show can go on, right?" He asks of her before looking back to Rave with a wide grin, "Either way, I have seen your site. Looks pretty good. Of course, I knew who you were otherwise I wouldn't be here. I can kinda get why you don't bother to hide who and what you are." He nods his head, "Honestly, it has turned a few heads from what I can tell on your social media pages. Both those who are excited and those that, well, aren't."

He tilts his head even as he casually punches stuff into his phone, "Question though. How do you feel about it? Do you do it because who and what you are is obvious or do you do it for another reason?"

Naria Shepard has posed:
A drink taken, Rave gives a little nod of agreement towards Elliot and shrugs. If anyone was going to get what it was like to have a little too much energy? It was probably going to be the speedster girl who was literally glowing! Not that she seemed to convey nerves in the slightest, at least on the surface.

Back to Keagan and his questions, there's a shrug of the young woman's shoulders that's probably made to seem more relaxed than the truth. "I mean, I was doing this before I..." a pause, she gestures to her form with a little giggle, "had a 'glow up' and all. But when it happened it was in front of so many people and...a hat doesn't really cover it."

Another sip, the girl glances towards Elliot and the rest of the band before she looks back again. "I love this, shows like this are just as fun for me as running up the Empire State to take a selfie. If I get to have fun, make it so other people can have fun...why not?"

A pause, another sip and she flashes a little wink. "Besides, I'm pretty awesome, why not share it?"

Elliot Hayes has posed:
"Guitarist, stage crew. You know, whatever needs doing, right?" Elliot trails off when Rave starts to talk about her experience being outted to a crowd on stage and nods sympathetically.

"I like being in front of all of these people and sharing _music_ with them. I can feel it, you know? The way the room hums with frenetic, barely contained electricity, like a brewing storm? How that energy turns into raw *music*?" She pauses for a second.

"Mostly I just feel luck yto be here and playing. ANd, you know. She *is* pretty awesome, so that's a bonus. Most of the time." That comment earns Raze a grin. "So, um. Who are *you*?" Elliot asks then, as pale eyes shift back to Keagan. "And who are you, um, writing for? Not the Bugle or something, right...?"

Keagan Nichols has posed:
"Very humble, too." Keagan grins at Rave before he turns and listens to Elliot next. He hmms as she speaks before he laughs, "NOt in the least." He nods his head, "I run an online only publication called 'The True Flight'." He nods his head, "It is gaining some popularity and I mostly write about the tristate area." He nods his head as he looks then at Rave again.

"Sounds really good. I'm glad to hear you are in it for the fun, though. Pretty good reason to do anything." He nods his head, "Just out to make people feel good has a nice ring to it." He then looks up at her, "Speaking of glow up though, if you don't mind me asking, how did you get your 'glow up' as you put it?"

Naria Shepard has posed:
A grin, Rave even lifts a hand to point at Elliot as she speaks. Non-verbal, but clearly there was agreement! Giggling softly, she hadn't even thought about who Keagan might be writing for, or really thought to ask his name too. Kinda eager to talk about the music that she'd jumped that part.

Shrugging her shoulders to his teasing, she nods to the last question and bites her lip. "I uh...got hit by a car," she speaks, blushing a little. "Or really...almost? I think it was one of those 'always there' things. I was leaving a club and someone swerved into the crowd and..."

The blue-haired girl gestures to herself with a soft 'whoosh' mimed. "Living lightshow. I just sort of...reappeared apparently."

Keagan Nichols has posed:
A hmm and he nods as he takes that down, "Interesting." He looks up with a nod, "It is often that traumatic experiences cause these things to come out in people that have them naturally." He glances briefly at Elliot again but he focues on Rave and smiles brightly, "I really have most of what I need from your social media and from those two questions but I am curious what your goal is? Just to have fun? Got any big plans or hopes or drreams?" He smirks, "Kinda a typical question but everyone likes to know these sorts of things." He shifts his own shoudler once as he takes a small step back and leans a shoulder into a wall.

Naria Shepard has posed:
A more experience 'hero' or 'heroine' wouldn't likely be so eagerly sharing their story or questions of how they'd changed...but that wasn't Rave. Rave was a young woman who got given super-speed and turned into a living laser. His question about more lofty goals or big plans? That makes the woman blink.

"I mean, I'm wanting to do some good. Save some people, have a little fun and....the rest I'm still making up as I go along!"

Keagan Nichols has posed:
A smile and he nods, "Interesting." He then looks around briefly before he nods his head, "I am glad I got to meet you, Rave. This has been very..." he grins, "Enlightening." He then shrugs and puts his phone away, "I'm gonna have to go slip off and start writing. Cool show though." He nods again, "I might stop by and catch another the next time you perform."

Naria Shepard has posed:
"You should!" the Bluenette smiles, setting her glass aside and reaching to replace her phone back into her boot. "If you've seen my page, you'd see my next gigs coming up easily. You can totally follow it, and support is always appreciated!" Opening her mouth to say more, there's a sudden glance towards the stage and a little click of her tongue. "We should be getting back up on stage soon though, in the next few minutes."

Keagan Nichols has posed:
"No problem! Go do your thing. I have to get things done myself." Keagan nods with that same smile he has used since the start. His head dips a little to the side and he raises an arm to wave even as he turns, "Make sure to check out my site for other news and for this story as well." He nods his head, "I think people will relaly enjoying hte idea of it. If it is all about spreading the fun then this will certainly get some fun out there." He laughs and heads to the door.

Elliot Hayes has posed:
The manager, a man of slightly under average height with slightly oily black hair an d a reasonably thick moustach, emerges from the back. "Set starts in five. You guys ready to go?" Elliot looks up and offers the man a thumb up, and the others on stage share their nods and move to retake their positiosn beside their instruments.

"Well, that was interesting. Think he was just looking for some star time? You might be about make a big break. But for now..." Elliot picks up the guitar and begins fiddling with it. "When you head up to the empire state do you take the elevator or just run up the side?"

Naria Shepard has posed:
A nod, a thumbs up, Rave takes one last moment to check her outfit over. After all, the attire was ment to hint at flirtatious and fun, not be outright overly revealing. That skirt was intended to stay at an exact height, in its own way this was a 'costume' or uniform for her. Elliot's question is taken half-way before she turns and begins to start walking.

"No idea, but hey...as long as it's not trashing us, it's good right?" the bluenette shrugs and then looks back to Elliot as she fiddles with the guitar. "It depends on the time. But the elevator is -reeeeeally- slow."

Elliot Hayes has posed:
"It *is* pretty slow, isn't it?" Laughing a little, Elliot makes a couple small adjustments on her guitar. "Alright." The blonde starts to tap her foot as she shifts her weight slightly, sort of half-stepping into position. She takes a deep breath, then pauses and turns to look around. "...We lost the drummer somewhere. ...Huh. We'll have to improvise. You're up!" Ellie is already starting to play as she starto shuffle backward toward the abandoned drum kit.

Something always goes wrong at a set. It's part of the job.

Naria Shepard has posed:
Well, she could probably -play- and sing, right? She'd have to hunt down the drummer and give him a talking to, but as her perception shifts to the slow-crawl of time? Her 'instant' scan spots the guy, but he's already half-hammered. "Swapsies it is then," she mutters as the world 'catches up' to her perception.

A guitar taken, an experiemental pluck of the strings, Rave gives one last look over her shoulders towards Elliot and then it's back to the show. The music begins and the crowd can come alove once more. Apparently, Rave could play too!

Elliot Hayes has posed:
Elliot, meanwhile, seems to be completely at home with the drumkit after she adjusts the stool until she can actually reach the kick drum pedal while she's playing. A little clattering, but ten seconds isn't much notice for an instrument switch. She manages to come in at the right moment, and the show is on. Elliot, for the record, is a lot better than the missing drummer. She's not Rave, but reflexes are still pretty good. And luckily for everyone it seems the girl actually knows the set.

Unbeknownst to anyone inside the speakers near the door are gradually growing a little louder as time passes. The club is starting to draw in more people from the street.

Naria Shepard has posed:
Some people might be intimidated to have changed plans so rapidly, but if the look on Rave's face as she played and sang was anything to go by? She -loved- it. They'd power through the music, draw a crowd and make the night (perhaps literally) shine!

All good things will come to the end, the music ends, pictures are snapped, cheers are shared and they'd have to climb from the stage. Now it was time for the less glamourous pate of everything. Cleaning up! Super speed didn't make speakers less heavy or drums less bulky.

Elliot Hayes has posed:
By the end of the set Elliot's face is gleaming with a sheen of sweat and she is gulping water from the bottle she's kept nearby. Somehow, the newly christened drummer ends up in a couple of the photos, but she stays toward the back of the stage for the most part. Elliot isn't as animated as Raze, but she's clearly pretty invested in her work. That just matters more than the crowd, apparently. Ellie also helps with the cleanup, though being as she's fairly short handling the heavier objects prove to be an exercise in balance as well as strength. Still, it goes smoothly enough. It's not the first or last time Elliot's put up a drumkit, after all. It takes around twenty minutes all told.

Naria Shepard has posed:
Eventually, all is said and done, items are taken home and a cab is called for the wayward drummer along with an aside mostly containing Rave calling him a moron for getting wasted mid-show. She'd probably not be calling on that guy again! After that, Elliot would find the blue-haired girl just sort of 'appearing' next to her, pulling at her hairties and letting the neon locks fall free.

"You were great," she praises, offering a little 'hip bump' rather than hug because her hands were busy. "We should go and get a drink...or uh...milkshake considering."

Show or no, she was technically underage too! Besides, late night junk food is pretty damn good too!

Elliot Hayes has posed:
"Okay... Sure. That sounds nice." A a hip bump back, and then Elliot flashes a quirky smile, right eye squeezing shut like she might be winking at the same time. "I guess we should probably be celebrating." And with that she's heading toward the door.
