Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty had put a note out on the school bulletin board that she was coming in from New York City, and would be making a stop at world-famous Katz's Deli on the way home. The deli that is now a chain, but the location she hit was the original one, made famous by Meg Ryan's 'faking it' in When Harry Met Sally.

Having picked up anything that anyone put in an order for, Kitty is now arriving at the school. She walks down the hallway, lugging two big bags from the deli. Lockheed has met her at the entryway and is agilely swooping about back and forth above her in an excited manner.

"Yes yes, I got you your steak sub," Kitty tells the little purple dragon as she makes her way into the kitchen, announcing, "Food's here!"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie was here in the kitchen to get something to drink. Sam sawing the note had put in an order for a pastrami sandwich with a side of lotkas and a babka for dessert. He looks over and seeing Kitty, he will move over offering to take one of the bags to help her "Thanks for grabbing stuff, how much do Ah owe ya for mine?"

Ororo Munroe has posed:
Ororo doesn't literally glide down from her loft, though she surely could. But she does figuratively, breezing down stairs with the lighthearted and serene aura of a woman who finished grading her latest series of class tests and at no point had to roll her eyes to the ceiling and wonder what any particular pupil was intending with /that/ answer.

And just in time for Kitty's arrival, to sweep in behind her, and reach up to give Lockheed a swift little pat atop the head as he weaves back and forth in the air, chiming out as Kitty enters the kitchen, "I should hope you did... though I think we should still be mildly worried he can eat a sandwich that is almost as large as him without any ill effect." She flashes a smile to Sam and nods her head in greeting, while joining in the ballet of food distribution... or at least, moving over to the fridge to lay out a series of drink options for those who are going to be dropping by.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty passes off a bag to Sam, while Lockheed clearly enjoys the pets, going into a hover to make it easy for Ororo to do so. Kitty waves a hand dismissively at the mention of recompense. "I'll put it on the Professor's credit card, essentially for the school," she says.

As Ororo comes in behind her, Kitty turns to offer the woman a one-armed hug if desired. "A sandwich? Shoot, he can eat all the eggs from a next of Sidra hunters," Kitty chimes in, and referring back to the alien incursion that first made them aware Lockheed had stowed away with the X-men on their trip back to Earth from the Brood's planet where Kitty first met the space dragon.

Sandwiches are pulled from the bag and distributed, or set out with the labels oriented so they are easy for people to read when they come into claim them. For Kitty, she opens up a roast beef and cheddar toasted sandwich with a chipotle mayo on it. "How are things around the school today?" she asks.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks over and says "Ah aint seen much going on, been looking into doing some paper work for Melody so, she can be officially enrolled when she comes up to start classes. She wants to come on up now, but Ma, wants her to finish this year back home before she comes up. With flight not being a problematic power, unless ya can't turn and fly through things, figure she will be ok back home till then." He looks over and smiles to Ororo "Mind getting the tea out for me?" Since she is dealing with drinks. He has his bag unpacked as well.

Ororo Munroe has posed:
Ororo eyes Lockheed after that brief hug with Kitty and murmurs dryly, "I am not sure an entire steak sub /or/ a nest of eggs are nutritionally sound but... well, I suppose we'd be hard pressed to find a vet who could confirm, and he does seem happy at the prospect of his sandwich gorging."

She nods in agreement with Sam, "It has been quiet. But not /too/ quiet. I don't think the students... or Rogue... are planning any mischief." She smiles and gets about getting the tea out as well, "Of course! And yes, flight without being able to turn /is/ a problem. Either because you wind up causing property damage, or you wind up pressed against a tall building and don't know what to do."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty sets her own sub aside and then unwraps a foot-long one that smells of steak and some kind of steak sauce. Lockheed lands on her shoulder, tail swishing eagerly. Kitty shakes her head to him. "Oh no, you're not eating this on my shoulder and dripping all over my sweater," she says, taking hold of the dragon to set him on the counter where she sets out the sub in the middle of it's paper wrapper.

As Lockheed starts eating, Kitty removes her coat and hangs it over the back of a chair. She has on black pants and boots and a dark charcoal grey sweater with a row of darker decor across the stomach.

"So with more and more Guthries leaving the house, does that make your mom happier, or sadder, Sam?" she asks him with a grin. She grabs one of the drinks and takes a sip before getting a bite of her sandwich then.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie says, "Ah think she misses us more, but does make bills easier. With Paige, and myself having jobs we can send funds back, Josh... Err Jay is looking at part time work Ah think he may try to do some pizza deliveries, like Ah used to." He looks over and says "If Jay's grades start to slip let me know ok?""

Jubilation Lee has posed:
A faintly melancholy moan can be heard as the kitchen door swings open, signalling that something supernatural has acted upon it. Jubilation Lee rolls in on the hidden wheels of her Heely sneakers, following in the wake of whatever opened the door for her. She's dressed as she usually is -- shorts that are too short and too tight for the weather, a tank top that's entirely too neon. Today, she wears a baby carrier on her back so Shogo Lee can come along for the ride to the kitchen.

"Oh, awesome," Jubilee announces as she arrives, gently grazing her fingertips against one of Lockheed's wings as she skates past him. She slows down by doing a quick circle, eventually coming to a gentle stop.

Jubes starts looting around in the bag, looking for her order. It was an unusual request for a vampire: a turkey sandwich with avocado and nothing else. As she continues looting around in the bag, little Shogo remains fixated on Lockheed, fruitlessly reaching out with his little baby hands.

"Buh!" Shogo says. It's not even a word.

"Hey, guys, did anyone see a turkey with avocado?" Jubilee interrupts, still looting around in the bag.

Henry McCoy has posed:
Hank came literally bounding into the kitchen, but stopped and pulled himself fully upright at the collection of people as well as delectable smells. Today he was dressed in a white button-doqn shirt, left unbuttoned at the neck enough to allow some blue chest-fur to show. Freshly ground-down claws on his hands, slacks on his legs, no shoes, and wickedly-sharp claws on his prehensile feet. Reading glasses on his head completed his look.

"Ah, my favorite delivery driver." he said boisterously, walking towards Kate and the food. "Did you happen to get the pastrami I requested? With that delicious stone-ground mustard?" he asked hopefully. As he got close enough he have Lockheed a quick scritch between his wings, which caused the dragon to coo appreciatively.

Ororo Munroe has posed:
One white eyebrow lifts high at the moan as the door opens. How very ghostly. How ominous and speaking of Creatures of the Night. Or, she supposes, as she turns, and takes in the sight of Jubilation, things of the Mid Afternoon. She can't judge the girl for the groan, she's had difficulty keeping herself from collapsing back into bed today. Even the goddess of weather can get tired of winter. "Once. It didn't seem to know what to do with it though."

Lazy sandwich humor? Yes. Yes it is.

And then Hank's bounding in and Ororo favors him with a wide smile, though as /she/ has yet to loot the bounty of sandwiches, she's not going to speak about whether or not Kitty forgot his order.

She nods to Sam and grins lopsidedly, "Oh, if Jay's grades start dipping, trust me, you'll know."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Lockheed enjoys the attention, reacting to the different greetings while only slowing the slightest bit in his consumption of his steak sub.

Kitty's eyes light up as Jubilee and Shogo come in, and the young'un gets a little wave from Kitty. The "Buh" comments draws a, "You have no idea," response from Kitty.

And then Hank is arriving, and Kitty darts over to give him a quick hug. "Looking very suave, Dr. McCoy," she says as she lets him go. "Jubes, think your sub's there on the counter on the end." Some of them have been pulled out and lined up for an easier time finding, ironically given how it went.

Kitty walks along the row of sandwiches and picks one of the largest ones. "Pastrami, side of pastrami, smothered in pastrami, and mustard," she confirms for Hank. Kitty passes him the sandwich, then grabs her own for another bite. "Ororo, you doing anything with the winter blast coming tomorrow, or just letting it play out?" she asks. Always have to doublecheck the weatherman when you're in these confines.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods his head a bit to the confirmation on Jay, and then nods over to Hank, and Jubes as they come in. He smiles a bit and says "So, how is little man treating you today?" He asks Jubes. His own sandwich being eating between talking with the others.

Jubilation Lee has posed:
"Huh?" Jubilee asks Ororo, her mouth hanging open for a few seconds as she tries to work out what she could mean. Oh. Finally getting it, Jubes shakes her head with a smirk and pretends to sigh. She doesn't need to breathe, but it's the least she could do for Ororo.

Jubilee glances over at the end of the counter and flashes Kitty a fangy grin as she spots it.

"Perfect, thanks!" she enthuses before pushing off with her foot to briefly engage the wheels hidden in the soles of her Heely sneakers. Has there ever been a more perfect product for a person?

As Jubilee skates over to the counter, Shogo squirms in the carrier, leaning forward in a desperate attempt to touch Lockheed. "Buh!" he tries.

"I know, I know..." Jubilee mutters, privately rolling her eyes with a lingering smirk. "I know you like Lockheed. I swear, sometimes I wonder if you were a dragon in a past life or something." Oh, the relatable psychosis of a young mother engaging in a conversation with a baby.

After locating the turkey sandwich, Jubilee goes on her tippy-toes to retrieve a blender from one of the cabinets and set it down on an empty spot on the counter. She looks up at Sam with a vast and unending weariness never before seen on her face. "Sam," she begins, letting his name ominously hang in the air for several seconds before continuing. "...He tires the hell out of me. Like, woah. He's going for the high score." After plugging the blender in, Jubilee turns around and frowns a little. "I didn't even think I could /get/ tired anymore, so, like, that's saying something."

Henry McCoy has posed:
Hank made a graceful lunge for his sandwich, but before he put it into his also-fanged mouth, he turned to Kate. "Oi, bubula, call your mother!" he told her in a wicked imitation of Midwestern Jewish Mother. Then he, sandwich in hand, turned to Ororo. "It's nice to have winter actually feel like winter but I also recognize that not everyone is fortunate enough to be blessed with a warm pelt." he said with a smile. "Reminds me of what it was like growing up." he mused, then with a vaguely-frightening near-unhinging of his jaw, incisors prominently displayed, he bit into his sandwich and then made a noise that should not be made in public.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
"I, for one," Kitty Pryde says, "Am planning on lots of hot chocolate, the fireplace, probably some s'mores, and some rown sugar and cinnamon Pop Tarts." She pauses to take a big bite of her sandwich, ending up with some chipotle mayo on the corner of her lip which she wipes before sucking off her finger after. "Maybe start a new Red Dead 2 play through with all the winter stuff at the start, for mood."

Henry gets a grin at the admonition to call her mother. "Yes yes, mother," she tells him, sticking her tongue out briefly before turning it into a grin.

Lockheed is beating everyone else on the consumption of his sandwich. Even though he's taking it in bites instead of just upending the whole thing to force down his gullet.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks over to Jubes, and says "Well if you need a break, it has been a while since Ah changed a diaper, but pretty sure Ah remember how and am decent at peek-a-boo. " He offers her a smile, and says "Long as Ah aint working Ah can help out sometime. Can either come up here, or if ya want to can watch him at my place is Bushwick."

Ororo Munroe has posed:
Ororo grins at Kitty and shrugs, "Oh, I'll be making sure it's... appropriately winter wonderland adjacent, I mean, I'm sure a /minor/ adjustment of precipitation won't be a problem." She fights back a grin at getting that reaction from Jubilee. She perks an eyebrow and murmurs out, "There are people who /do not/ like Lockheed? How dare they."

She flashes a grin at Hank and nods her head, "Yes, well, it's important to have the occasional unpleasant cold snap, for the excuse of bundling up indoors, even with a warm pelt. After all, without cold days, there'd be fewer opportunities to enjoy hot chocolate."

Jubilation Lee has posed:
Shogo smiles across the kitchen at Lockheed and begins flapping his little arms as though they were wings. "Buh!" he cries out, desperate to get the dragon's attention for some reason. Meanwhile, Jubilee has started pulling apart the turkey and avocado sandwich. Several bits of turkey are pulled out of the sandwich and placed into the blender as she continues the conversation.

"Oh, he doesn't like Lockheed. He /loves/ him... I swear, he's taking that 'Year of the Dragon' thing super literally," Jubilee explains to Ororo, grinning a little to herself as she continues tearing off bits of turkey to go into the blender. She stops just long enough to look up at Sam with a closed mouth smile. "That's really nice of you, Sam. If we're ever in Brooklyn, maybe I'll take you up on that," she says. No wisecrack. No joke. She really sounds like she appreciates it.

"Hey, Hank...?" Jubilee calls over, not looking up from her work tearing apart the turkey sandwich for the blender. She hesitates for a few moments before continuing. "How old does someone have to be before we can know if they're, like..."

"...a mutant?"

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Lockheed tips his head back as he eats the end of his steak sandwich. His tongue swirls about his lips afterwards, getting the last bits of sauce and grease from it.

Which is when Shogo really draws his attention with the flapping motion. Lockheed's head tilts in a curious way and he trots a step or two nearer to where the baby sits in the pack.

A little stretching shiver runs down the dragon's body, and then he spreads his wings and gives a few little flaps. It lifts him off the counter straight up, before the cessation of flapping drops him back onto it again. Lockheed looking to see how Shogo reacts.

Henry McCoy has posed:
Hank was mid-bite of his heaven on bread sandwich and had to stop, chew, and swallow before he could respond to Jubilee's query. "Blood test should show if there's an X-Factor gene complex to activate but when it comes to actual manifestation, that's a trickier story." he said. "I presume you ask on behalf of your son there?" he asked curiously, eyeing Shogo and his desperate sttempts to go pet Lockheed. And Lockheed's motions towards Shogo. He had a million questions, but here in the kitchen surrounded by co-workers, friends, and alien dragons was probably not the best place to ask them.

"Come down to Medical, the two of you, and we can get the process started." he said, and then took another bite of his sandwich.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Lockheed keeps showing off for Shogo, flapping his wings about, sometimes lifting into the air briefly for the child's amusement. Kitty just grins as she works on her roast beef, cheddar and chipotle mayo toasted sandwich.

She scoops up another beverage after discarding the first one in the recycle bin. "So Hank, any interesting work lately?" she asks him. "Haven't seen any smoke rolling out of your lab lately so I'm assuming research is going well," she says in a teasing voice.

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
There's been a missing person for quite some time, at the school. A hole in the place that you just try to ignore, and hope that someday it heals. The missing piece's name was Rahne, and she left one day stating a need for peace. Just there one day, gone the next.

Gone one day, there the next? The person standing in the kitchen doorway seems familiar. Too dark, a bit tanned. Short. Hair a bit too long. Impossible, her hair never grows. It can't be her.

The eyes are right though, and she's just kind of standing there, looking around as if redicovering. Sniffing the air. She's wearing a coat against the chill, and pants. And bare feet.

Rahne?

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks over as someone else comes in nodding to them. He then stops and looks her over a bit more before smiling "Firetop." He says referring to Rahne as one of the nicknames he has called her over the years. He puts his sandwich down and walks over to her "Ok Ah recognized ya this time, no slugging me." He smiles and offers her a hug.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
"Rahne!?" Kitty says as she spots her too. The last of Kitty's sandwich is set back on the wrapper and Kitty hurriedly wipes her hands on a towel so she can go over and becomes a third leg in the hug tripod that Sam is starting. "God you've been away forever it feels like," Kitty says.

The return of the red-haired mutant draws Lockheed's attention too. His tail swirls a few times and he even spouts out a tiny little belch of fire. You know, in greeting.

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
Rahne? Yes, it seems to be so, for the ones who've known her a while are reacting in that fashion. It seems that gingers can, in fact, tan. If given enough slow baking. She's been someplace warm, with lots of sun.

"Agh," she says as she's semi-mobbed, but doesn't pull away. She just smiles, letting people reach out to her. Like there's all the time in the world.

"Ah'd na'er hit ye, Sam," she says. But she's otherwise rather quiet. Touching Kitty's forehead with her own, smol girls solidarity.

"Wot'd ah miss?" she asks, as if that's all it takes to come home.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie steps back and says "Well, lets see. Jubes has a kid, Ah now live in Bushwick, and am the first known mutant on NYPD." He hmmms a bit and looks to Kitty and the others to add anything.

Emma Frost has posed:
And into the kitchen comes one tall Bostonian blonde that is a guest that comes and goes at the Mansion and as an occasional ally. Emma has dropped in to check up on current event s- by that we mean Galactus. She looks at those about, "Ah, so what'st he event then?"

Kitty Pryde has posed:
"I've been spending a lot of my time in the city, with working at Stark Tower," Kitty replies. "But splitting time here at the school a day or two a week usually." She takes up her sandwich again after the hug, finishing it off. "Mm, that so hit the spot," she says. "Looked like there was a line of people waiting for the Sally table," she says of the eatery made famous in the movie for Meg Ryan's pretend orgasm while eating.

Glancing at the time on her phone, Kitty says, "I need to go check a build at work and see if it completed," she says. "Stop by later and we'll catch up, Rahne," Kitty says, grinning and touching her shoulder fondly, before she and Lockheed will depart.

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
Rahne Sinclair touches Lockheed on the nosetip, the scent of brimstone now on her finger. She seems simpler than before, somehow. Like she's not looking for anything in particular, more just waiting for life to happen. It's not quite the same.

Sam mentioning that he is now a Policeman gets her to lift her gaze, and the touch on her shoulder from Kitty. But not a word exactly. She's used to silence?

"Themyscera," she says as a one-word explanation, then nods to Kitty as she's spoken to about meeting up later. And her green eyes look up at Emma as well. Because ...why? She doesn't seem afraind, just patient to see what happens next.

Henry McCoy has posed:
Hank was about three-quarters through his rather massive sandwich when his phone chirped at him. Literally chirped. "The lab calls." he told the assemblage of children and co-workers and reformed not-children. "Before the clouds of smoke Kate so helpfully mentioned start billowing, I should attend to things before something entirely energetic goes, well, bang." he said with a fangy smile towards the assembled mutants. And with that he made his rather quick departure, dropping into a three-limbed lope once he was clear of the room so he could still hold his sandwich.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would turn over to Rahne, "Ah welcome back Ms. Sinclair. So you've been on the island of the Amazons? Congratulations are in order. I hope that while you were there you found a way to center yourself and found it to your liking." Emma might have misunderstood Rahne's commentary - if she hadn't been there, of course.

"And lovely that Ms. Pryde went all the way to get us things to enjoy."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie says, "Well, Ah am glad your back, and if your hungry, Ah will share my pastrami sandwich if ya want or sure we can find ya something to eat," Yea Sam looking after his friends some things don't change."

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
Hank leaving without even saying hi? Bit surprising, but he's always been pretty focused. Kitty leaving at the same time? She sniffs the air to check, see if they're leaving to be together...

Well, whatever her sensitive nose tells her, she isn't sharing. She does turn toward Emma and nods, her face just calm and quiet. Like her demeanor. It seems she's not as emotionally turbulent, at least.

When Sam speaks, she turns and looks at where he's motioned to. And goes to the food, taking just a bit of a sandwich. Not much, she's not super hungry it seems. But she does push some into her gob and noms it. Because reasons.

"Don't know if I'm staying," she says. Her thoughts are uncommitted, and just wandering. Unfocused.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma Frost would nod to Rahne, "Very well then." Was Emma not particularly liked and were many quite wary of her given her history? Very much so for some. Given what she had done. She had her own extended penance to pay for things after all. "And how are you doing, Samual?" She would turn over to Rahne, not pressing the question given Rahne seemed not particularly interested in replying.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods a bit and says "Well if your not wanting to stay at the mansion, but wanting to stay in the area Ah have a spare bedroom, and Paige or Jay aint using it right now. HE will move to get Rahne a drink she normally drinks (not knowing if she still likes it but falling into habits). He looks over to Emma, "Doing ok, got my apartment looking pretty good, but still working on helping some of the other folks in the building. Landlord don't want to put any money that he does not have to into it.

Rahne Sinclair has posed:
Rahne replied, just not vocally. She replied by being the change Emma was asking about. And she nods to Sam as well. "'sokay," she says simply. The conversation sort of washes over her, and she looks out the window to the outside. It seems she really won't be staying, though she be always welcome.
