Cast of Characters: Cassandra Cain, Carrie Kelley, Strix

Cassandra Cain has posed:
Underground fights are two things: loud and unpredictable. This one is a gathering in a clearing rather than in a building, with the sky above and trees around. There is a cage, and there is a crowd. Screaming, chaos, betting and blood.

Not long before, Strix and Carrie were doing...something...and Cassandra walked into the room. She spoke not a word, but Strix had gotten something from the other silent girl. Then when Cassandra left, she was followed.

Cassandra is in a hoodie, pulled over her head. She looks at the huge, noisy crowd, and then glances behind her. There is anticipation in her gaze, and at that moment behind her a man is thrown against the cage hard enough to burst blood vessels in his face. Another man is on him a moment later, and the sound of meat being pummeled is awful. Too real, too much.

Cassandra licks her lips.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley was quick to follow the summons to the underground fight. She's changed a bit since she's been away, coming back a little bloodthirstier than the Robin that left. So, underground fighting sates that desire. Plus, it's a way to make a quick buck or two if you know how to size up the combatants.

Carrie is working her way around the edge of the crowd, occasionally catching sight of a punch landing, and nibbling on her bottom lip as she walks. She stops by a bookie and lays down some sort of currency on a couple of the fights, and then tries to meld back into the crowd, hands in the pockets of her rather peculiar hoodie she wears.

Strix has posed:
Strix knew that Cassie wanted something when she showed up during the middle of Carrie and her conversation. There's something about the two mute girls that share, which makes understanding each other than what they normally be. When Cassie all but tugged on Strix for them to follow her, Strix was more than happy to follow, waving for Carrie to come with them.

Strix was going to go dressed like she normally does. A pair of comfortable overalls over a plain white t-shirt, and her head wrapped in bandages to hide her scars. However, Carrie convinced her to at least put a hoodie on to help blend in with the crowd.

When they get to the underground fighting ring Strix is a little surprised. Whatever it was she had expected to see, it wasn't this. She isn't horrified or anything, as she doesn't understand that this is illegal, and the brutality of the fight going on matched that of her own training.

Strix gets some odd looks whenever people see her bandage wrapped face under the hoodie, but otherwise is left alone along with the other girls. She turns to Cass and mimes boxing to her and nods her head towards the ring in a silent question. Are we going to fight?

Cassandra Cain has posed:
When Cassandra is questioned she simply lets a little bit of smile caress her lips. She clearly isn't telling all that she knows, though she reaches into her pocket and pulls out an odd coin. She flips it toward Strix, to catch the odd, heavy coin. It weighs about a pound and has a crown on both sides. Tarnished, old. Odd.

Then she lifts her gaze to look at Carrie for a moment. She pointedly lowers the gaze, looking at the flaming rabbit skull and guns on Carrie's outfit, taking the time to look at all sides. An eyebrow quirks, her version of a question.

Thumbing toward the betting booth, Cassandra indicates a direction. Then she upnods Strix. The one with the coin. Then she motions to Carrie to follow. A fighting group?

That coin though. Carrie's mind, there are hints. A champion coin? Cassandra has a champion coin? Nobody even knows how to -get- one of those..

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"Later." Carrie says to the question that forms in her mind, with a shake of her head. And then as the idea of a fighting group forms as well she smiles and says, "I can't...not unless you're paying way better than you're gonna make off this fight. Commander would have my hide." She does follow along though, keeping an eye on the people around, and both her hands in her pockets, sizing up any potential threats to her friends in the crowd. She keeps to the back of the trio, more of a hypeman it would seem than a fighter.

Strix has posed:
Strix catches the coin easily and examines it, flipping it over in her hand and running a finger along its edge. She looks back up to Cass in time to catch the upnod and her brows furrow as she follows her. She's never been to one of these before, so she lets Cass take the lead, since she obviously has.

Her attention turns to Carrie when a fight group is mentioned. They're going to fight? She turns and looks at the fighters currently working each other over in the ring and smiles. They're good but they haven't had the kind of training both she and Cassandra have. This should be fun.

Cassandra Cain has posed:
The cage door opens as the trio arrive, and Cassandra has to duck or be hit by the big wire door. She sidesteps as the bloodied unconscious male is tossed out of the cage, and the man inside raises his fists to the sky. The crowd gets no louder, largely because that would be impossible. Being able to lip read right now is an asset.

The girl looks at Carrie. She looks at the big guy, then at Carrie, and nods. No judgement is in her gaze, more of a quiet respect. Apparently knowing your limits is something to be accepted, not argued against. She nods. She turns, ducking under someone's hand who was reaching for her hood. She ignores the person and nudges Strix to the betting counter. Upnods again.

The lady behind the counter that Carrie had just vacated, bets put down, looks up at the trio. She turns and calls behind her. "Boss, got a team on site." The boss, a slightly taller woman, comes in next. Looks at Strix, Cassandra, and Carrie. Waits.
