Profile
Adam Brashear's alter ego is known as the Blue Marvel. Acting as a superhero for a brief time in the 60's, he is largely an unknown quantity, having spent decades in forced anonymity by the insistence of the U.S. Government and Shield. Having spent much of his life as a beloved physics instructor, recent event including the death of his wife have conspired to force him to take up his mantle once more. A powerful champion of the Earth, he usually applies his considerable intelligence to a problem before resorting to the mighty powers at his disposal.

* 1949: Graduates from Cornell University magna cum laude
with a Ph.D. in electrical engineering and theoretical physics.
* 1950: Enlists in the Marine
Corps and enters the Korean War
* 1953: Earns two Silver Stars by War's end
* 1954: Transfers
to Naval Research
* 1957: Appointed as project lead for Project Perseus, a study of the negative

reactor' and develops superhuman abilities

Personality
Dauntless:
When Adam knows what the right thing to do is, he lets no one get in his way. This can manifest
as outright stubbornness. His moral compass is usually right, but when it's wrong, it can take
awhile to change his mind.
Dutiful:
Adam had a sense of duty drilled into him from an early age that was further reinforced by his
experience in the Korean War. He is quick to self-sacrifice for what he perceives to be a greater
good.
Repressed Resentment:
Adam has a lot of things worthy of resentment. He lived through the civil rights movement. He
was asked to step down as hero because of the color of his skin. His wife was a plant by SHIELD. He
was forced to kill his best friend who was zealot for human equality. Add all these things up and it
makes a complicated relationship with modern day authorities.
Character Sheet
Powers
Anti-Matter Manipulation:
Blue Marvel can draw excess anti-matter energy from the Negative Zone to perform a variety of
energy manipulation feats. This ranges from the precise allowing Blue Marvel to control individual
particles for scientific application to the crude in the form of bolts and concussive waves.
Anti-Matter Physiology:
Blue Marvel draws power directly from the Negative Zone in the form of anti-matter. The
interaction of sub-atomic particles with reality and the Negative Zone is the catalyst for all his
manifestations of power.
Flight:
Through the manipulation of gravitons and molecular movement, Blue Marvel is capable of
traveling well beyond supersonic speeds. He is able to easily achieve escape velocity and fly into
space unaided.
Hyper Awareness:
Blue Marvel is capable of perceiving a variety of sensory spectra. This ability has been
described as Blue Marvel being his own 'Electron Microscope' allowing him to perceive the
interaction of energy and matter at a sub-atomic level.
Longevity:
Blue Marvel ages at a considerably slower rate then normal human beings. Despite being in his
90's, he appears to be in his late 30's or early 40's.
Superhuman Durability:
Blue Marvel has survived the detonation of a hydrogen bomb in immediate proximity. He does not
need to breathe and is thus able to travel in the ocean and space without hindrance. Harming Blue
Marvel requires considerable force or an attack that directly interferes with his anti-matter
physiology.
Superhuman Strength:
Blue Marvel's feats of strength include lifting the U.S.S. Enterprise out of the ocean and
pushing a meteor the size of Arkansas out of its trajectory with the Earth. This places his strength-
based capabilities in the hundreds of thousands of tons. He is among the strongest beings on Earth.
Skills
Athlete:
Without his powers, Brashear was a star athlete who played for Cornell as a fullback. If somehow
depowered, he would retain a considerable level of fitness.
Super-Genius Intelligence:
A genius in the field of theoretical physics, Adam has made considerably discoveries in the
study of anti-matter. It was these breakthroughs which led to the lab accident that transformed him
into a walking stable anti-matter reactor.
Trained Combatant:
Adam is trained in U.S. military combat arts. As a veteran marine, he is highly proficient in
the use of modern firearms and unarmed combat. These skills have somewhat atrophied from lack of
use.
Resources
Research Patents:
Like many super-scientists, Adam Brashear trickles the occasional discovery into select research
institutes and companies. The resultant royalties are enough to ensure a comfortable lifestyle and a
steady supply of materials to further his scientific pursuits.
Undersea Base:
Adam maintains a secret undersea base near the Marianas Trench. This facility houses a variety of
technological marvels he has produced over the years and acts as the center of his research. The
location of this base is unknown to most organizations with the exception of Atlantis.
Weaknesses
Engineered Attacks:
For opponents who understand the source of Blue Marvel's powers and possess a working knowledge
of the Negative Zone, it is possible to engineer attacks which seek to dampen the constant chain
reaction that powers Blue Marvel.
Neutronium:
Within the Exo-Space, there is an element given the designation of Neutronium. Scarce commodity
in regular universes, it is often coveted by powerful beings. Weapons leveraging Neutronium are
particularly devastating to Blue Marvel's anti-matter physiology.
