Timeline:
2020 - Following his defeat at the hands of Kryptonians while attempting to abduct the people of Genosha, Brainiac concocts a plan to combat Superman with a Trojan Horse.

Late 2020 - Brainiac abducts a newborn human child named 'Mia' and places her into storage.

2022 - Brainiac develops the nanovirus he intends to implant within Cir-El. He also uses his knowledge of Kryptonian culture and Kal-El's background to concoct a false heritage for his experiment.

2023 - Having had the ability to scan Superman entirely, Brainiac creates a full copy of the Kryptonian genome which he splices into Mia. She is artificially aged as a result and given the memories of a full life lived with Superman as a parent.

June 2023 - Believing herself to be Cir-El, the daughter of Superman from the future with partial amnesia, Mia is released into the world by Brainiac as the second 'Supergirl'.

Personality

Altruism:
One of Cir-El's defining traits is her altruism. Like the others who bear the Super name, she possesses a deep-seated desire to protect and help others. This commitment to doing good often drives her actions, and she's willing to put herself in danger to protect those who can't protect themselves. Her altruism also manifests itself as compassion towards others, even towards those who might be considered her enemies.

Determination:
Once she sets her mind on a task, she sees it through to the end, no matter how daunting or impossible it may seem. She does not easily give up or back down, especially when the well-being of others is at stake. This trait also makes her a formidable opponent in combat, as she often pushes herself beyond her limits to win.

Optimism:
Cir-El tends to see the best in people and believes in their potential for good, which can sometimes lead to her being naive or overly trusting. However, her optimistic outlook often inspires hope in others and can make her a beacon of light even in dark times. Despite the challenges she faces, Cir-El often retains a positive attitude and the belief that things will get better.

Punk:
A key aspect of Cir-El's personality is her punk, no-nonsense attitude. This characteristic gives her a somewhat rebellious and defiant demeanor, showcasing her willingness to challenge authority or conventional norms when she deems it necessary. She's not one to back down from a confrontation and tends to speak her mind, even if it ruffles feathers. She's a straight shooter who prefers honesty over diplomacy, which can sometimes come across as blunt or abrasive. However, beneath this tough exterior is a person who deeply cares about justice and fairness, and her no-nonsense attitude often shines through when she's standing up for what she believes is right.

Powers

Breath:
Her super-breath power allows Cir-El to inhale and exhale huge volumes of air with great force, creating hurricane-like winds. She can also chill the air she exhales, allowing her to freeze targets. This is often referred to as her freeze breath. Both aspects of her super-breath make her a formidable opponent, whether she's attempting to blow away enemies, or immobilize them with a freezing gust.

Flight:
Cir-El's power of flight is another prominent aspect of her abilities, granting her the freedom to move in three dimensions without any external assistance. Her speed during flight can reach extreme levels, allowing her to transverse vast distances, even interstellar, within short time frames. Cir-El's flight power is thought to be a form of self-levitation or manipulation of graviton particles, but the exact mechanism is not well-understood. Early in her career, Cir-El was only capable of using this power to leap great distances.

Hearing:
Cir-El's super hearing allows her to detect sounds across a vast range, far beyond the capabilities of a human ear. She can tune in to specific sounds or conversations from great distances or filter out ambient noise to focus on a particular source. This ability extends to frequencies that humans can't hear, such as dog whistles or infrasound. However, her super hearing can sometimes be a vulnerability, as high intensity sounds or sonic attacks can cause her discomfort or disorientation.

Heat Vision:
Cir-El's heat vision is a projection of solar energy from her eyes, which she can control to either gently warm or to incinerate targets. She can precisely control the intensity and range of her heat vision, making it a versatile weapon or tool in various situations. The maximum temperature of her heat vision can rival the surface of the sun, allowing her to melt nearly any material. Like many other of her abilities, she did not have control or even the ability to summon it at will in her early career.

Hybrid Physiology:
Cir-El's Kryptonian genetic traits are new enough that she is still both learning to access her powers and is still absorbing enough yellow solar radiation to fuel them. The process may even operate differently because of her unique physiology. As a result, many of her powers are not operating at the peak of their potential. She may have difficulty accessing the many varied perceptive abilities she has, and flight will invariably begin as the ability to leap tall buildings in a single bound. Over time, she will undoubtedly come to terms with her abilities and be able to function just as effectively as her fully Kryptonian 'ancestors', but for now she is still adapting and broadening her understanding.

Invulnerability:
Cir-El's invulnerability makes her resistant to most forms of physical and energy-based harm, resulting from the enhanced durability of her cellular structure powered by absorbed solar radiation. She can withstand high-caliber bullets, extreme temperatures, explosive force, and even blows from beings with super strength. This doesn't mean she is entirely impervious to harm, as there are certain materials and energies, like Kryptonite or magic, that can bypass her invulnerability. Furthermore, exceptionally powerful beings or force impacts can cause her physical distress or injury.

Red Sunburst:
Cir-El's red sunburst power is an interesting and unique aspect of her abilities. It's a last-ditch defensive tactic, which allows her to expel stored solar energy from her body in one massive, omnidirectional blast. This action, while immensely powerful, drains Cir-El of her solar reserves, rendering her virtually human and vulnerable until she can recharge by absorbing more solar radiation. This power also produced red solar radiation, which itself can sap the powers of other Kryptonians exposed to it.

Speed:
Cir-El's super speed allows her to move, react, and think at unfathomable velocities. Her rapid movements can reach such an extent that she appears invisible to the human eye, and she can execute complex tasks in a blink of an eye. This super speed also extends to her flight, enabling her to reach interstellar distances in a relatively short time. Common feats involving her speed include running faster than the speed of sound, creating sonic booms, and even outpacing bullets. Although her speed is not on par with most dedicated speedsters, under the right conditions and with sufficient motivation, she could potentially achieve velocities approaching light speed. However, this does depend on her exposure to solar radiation and her physical and mental state at the time.

Stamina:
Cir-El's stamina, similar to her other powers, is fueled by her ability to store and utilize solar energy. Her Kryptonian physiology allows her to exert herself at peak capacity for extended periods without tiring, much longer than any human could possibly endure. This means she can engage in intense physical activity, such as fighting or using her super speed, for potentially days on end before fatigue toxins in her body build up enough to affect her performance. This super stamina, however, is not limitless and can be depleted, especially if she uses her powers to their extreme or is deprived of sunlight for prolonged periods.

Strength:
Cir-El has the solar-powered super strength that is characteristic of her body's cellular structure interacting with solar radiation and a denser physiology adapted to Krypton's harsher gravity. She can handle, shift, or shatter objects of massive weight and durability, as well as strike with an unparalleled force that far exceeds the most robust human and even many superhumans. Given the nature of this strength, it is difficult to determine its upper limits and she is presumably only constrained by the requirements of the situation. She has learned to manage her strength to not damage her surroundings.

Vision:
Cir-El's super-vision covers a range of visual abilities, including but not limited to X-ray, telescopic, and microscopic vision. Her X-ray vision enables her to see through objects and structures, except for lead. With telescopic vision, she can focus on objects that are extremely far away, like spotting a specific individual from orbit. Microscopic vision allows her to see minute details down to the atomic level.

Skills

Combat:
Cir-El has been trained in hand-to-hand combat mostly through action on her own part rather than any official study. While her superhuman abilities certainly give her an edge, her combat training allows her to use her powers more effectively in a fight. She was imprinted with knowledge of various fighting styles and techniques, making her a versatile and adaptable combatant - even if she is unaware of where these abilities came from.

Guitar:
Cir-El possesses the skill of playing the electric guitar, a talent that showcases her human side. This ability not only provides her with a creative and emotional outlet but also connects her to human culture in a unique way. Her talent for the electric guitar demonstrates her capacity for discipline and precision, as well as her affinity for music. Often, she is shown to be not just competent, but truly gifted, able to perform complex solos and improvise with ease. This skill also contributes to her punk persona, reinforcing her rebellious, no-nonsense attitude.

Kryptonian Culture:
Cir-El has an understanding of Kryptonian culture, though it is limited and incomplete. She does not speak Kryptonian save for a handful of words and phrases, and her understanding of Krypton is relegated to a smattering of stories and historical tidbits. Like other Kryptonians, she is capable of learning quickly and in great depth when given the opportunity.

Tactics:
Cir-El has shown to have a good tactical mind. She's able to assess situations quickly and come up with effective strategies, often under intense pressure. This skill is not only useful in combat, but also in various other situations where quick thinking and problem-solving are required.

Costume:
Cir-El's costume is a distinctive and striking ensemble, befitting her unique persona and heritage. The core of her outfit is a black, legless leotard that combines sleek form with practicality. This one-piece garment conforms to her form, allowing for unhindered movement during high-intensity action while demonstrating a level of sophistication and simplicity. The leotard features the emblem of the House of El prominently across the chest?a stylized "S" symbol?in a contrasting red, tying her to her Kryptonian lineage. Her attire also includes long gloves and high-cut boots, both in a matching black, lending an edge to her look that echoes her punk, no-nonsense attitude. Finally, a flowing blue cape completes her attire, signifying her superhero status and serving as a practical tool in various combat scenarios. Despite its minimalist design, Cir-El's costume is made from durable, technologically advanced materials capable of withstanding extreme conditions and adapting to her swift, powerful movements.

Fender Stratocaster:
Cir-El's electric guitar is a significant item to her, serving as an emblem of her connection to Earth and humanity. This guitar is a 1960s Fender Stratocaster, a classic model known for its role in shaping rock music history. The Stratocaster is renowned for its iconic design and versatile sound, and Cir-El's particular model exhibits all of these traits.

The guitar is finished in a vintage sunburst, reflecting her own solar-charged nature. Its aged alder body, paired with a rosewood fingerboard on a maple neck, imparts a rich, full-bodied tone. The guitar's three single-coil pickups provide a wide range of sonic possibilities, making it perfect for Cir-El's diverse musical interests. Despite being decades old, this Fender Stratocaster has been well preserved, with only minor signs of wear that add to its vintage charm. The old strings have been replaced with new ones, but the original tuning keys, bridge, and pickguard remain, ensuring the guitar's authenticity and character are retained.

Weaknesses

Brainiac:
Brainiac himself poses a significant threat to Cir-El. As one of the greatest minds in the DC Universe, his intellectual prowess and advanced technological resources allow him to create complex and unpredictable strategies. Brainiac's knowledge of Cir-El is in-depth due to his role in her creation. He knows her physiological structure, her powers, and her vulnerabilities, which gives him a unique advantage when combating her. Not only can he exploit her physical weaknesses, but he can also manipulate her on a psychological level, using his knowledge of her personality, her memories, and her emotional attachments. This combination of physical and psychological understanding makes Brainiac a formidable enemy for Cir-El.

Brainiac Nanovirus:
One of Cir-El's unique vulnerabilities comes in the form of a Brainiac nanovirus that is hidden within her. As Brainiac's creation, this dormant nanovirus is a potential ticking time bomb that could be activated at any moment. Once activated, it could have numerous detrimental effects on Cir-El, from sapping her powers and causing physical distress, to altering her behavior or even controlling her actions. It also poses a significant risk to others, as the nanovirus could potentially spread beyond Cir-El to affect those around her and even infest technology that could then easily be turned to Brainiac's whims. Given the vast technological capabilities of Brainiac, the specific impacts of the nanovirus could vary widely and be adapted to suit Brainiac's needs.

Growing Pains:
Cir-El has not yet had sufficient time to fully absorb and store the solar energy necessary to perform the more extreme feats associated with Kryptonian abilities. As such, her current capabilities are somewhat limited compared to her full potential. Her power of flight, a signature Kryptonian ability, has yet to manifest. Instead, she is able to leap great distances - a preliminary stage to true flight. Her super strength, while still impressive, is likely confined to the range of lifting or moving approximately five hundred tons. Her vision, too, is not yet fully developed, and she can presently only see within the visible light spectrum, without the expanded capacities of x-ray or heat vision common to Kryptonians. As Cir-El continues to absorb solar radiation, these abilities are expected to increase and expand, gradually revealing the full extent of her Kryptonian power.

Kryptonite:
One of Cir-El's most prominent vulnerabilities is her susceptibility to Kryptonite, a radioactive mineral from her father's home planet of Krypton. Exposure to Kryptonite weakens her considerably, causing pain and eventually loss of consciousness. Prolonged exposure can even be fatal. There are different types of Kryptonite, each with varying effects, but the most common green variety saps her strength and can cause severe illness.

Magic:
Cir-El is also vulnerable to magic. While not a specific weakness per se, her Kryptonian physiology provides no particular resistance against magical attacks or artifacts. This means that spells, enchantments, or magically-imbued weapons can harm her as they would a regular human.

Psychology:
Like all beings, Cir-El is also susceptible to psychological manipulation. Despite her physical invulnerability, she's emotionally susceptible to things like manipulation, fear, and trauma. Villains who can exploit this may find ways to weaken her resolve or cause her to act irrationally.

Red Solar Radiation:
Red sun radiation is another weakness for Cir-El. Kryptonians draw their powers from the radiation of a yellow sun, but under the light of a red sun - like Krypton's - they lose their powers and become as vulnerable as ordinary humans. Therefore, exposure to red sun radiation, or a red sun environment would strip Cir-El of her superhuman abilities. This has to be wavelengths of energy that would be produced by red stars to work this way.
