During the opening ceremony, a colossal airship piloted by Doctor Doom appeared and threatened to rain destruction down upon the Baxter Building and the gathered crowd. Richards, his girlfriend Sue Storm, his friend Ben Grimm, and Sue's brother Johnny Storm revealed they developed superhuman abilities during their time in space and work together to defeat Doom.
