Character Info
Profile
The Big Man is the newest Crime Lord in New York City, and the most mysterious. This masked figure has only been around for a year, and has already made moves in the Underworld, creating a network of four gangs cooperating together under his control. It is quite obvious to those in the know that The Big Man is planning on taking control of NYC's underworld from the Maggia. The Big Man identity is unknown, which is how Frederick Foswell, family man and Daily Bugle reporter, likes it. Frederick, who is The Big Man, created this alternate persona to become the man he's always wanted to be, a respected "big shot" instead of the short, thin, timid man that was picked on his entire life.

Personality
Family Man:
Foswell is currently happily married and has two children. As a result, Frederick is a heavily
devoted family man, viewing his family as one of the few bright spots in his otherwise quite drab
life. This attitude carries over as The Big Man, where he has made a vow to not take any actions
that would endanger the lives of young children, especially if those actions could affect his
children.
Insecure:
Deep down, Foswell is truly a very insecure individual. Throughout his entire life he has been
bullied and mocked for his size, stature, and timid nature, and is still very sensitive when people
bring up these flaws. This has lead to him wanting to prove his "worth" and gain the respect he
deserves by becoming The Big Man.
Polite:
The Big Man and Foswell share this one trait in common, proper etiquettes. When not losing his
temper, The Big Man is surprisingly well-mannered, always addressing people politely and with
respect, even his own foes.
Ruthless:
Frederick Foswell is a very ruthless individual. He will not let anything or anyone stop him in
his quest to be NYC's "Big Man", and will eliminate anyone who gets in his way, with no remorse or
mercy.
Temper:
Foswell has a very violent temper due to his past. While he able to keep it mostly under control
as Foswell, it's a completely different story as Big Man. As the Big Man, Foswell takes advantage of
the mask and as a consequence, has a much shorter temper. He can and will lash out at anyone,
including allies, when angry and cannot be calmed down
Timid:
When he doesn't have the Big Man costume on, Foswell is a completely different beast altogether.
The ruthless and grandiose Big Man is replaced by a surprisingly shy, reclusive little man. Foswell
generally prefers to stick to the shadows and only talks when someone talks to him, otherwise
keeping to himself. Not only does this help him avoid possible mockery, but it helps him keep a very
low profile.
Character Sheet
Powers
Skills
Firearms:
To make up for his lack of physical combat prowess, Big Man is a skilled marksman proficient in
many types of firearms, especially handguns
Intimidation:
The Big Man is a very intimidating figure, which was one of the intentions of the costume's
design. Foswell can easily intimidate people with The Big Man's tall stature, seemingly muscular
build, his deep, baritone voice, and with the very same tactics his tormentors used on him
Investigation:
Foswell's time working as a journalist for many newspapers have heigtened his investigative
skills to that of a expert detective. He is able to notice details in a room that most people cannot
see and gather information on people just from the way theu carry themselves or through subtle
features on their clothing, faces, etc
Planning:
Behind Foswell's timid demeanor is a expert tactician and planer. He is able to think up rather
clever strategies and schemes in a matter of hours where it would take most people days.
Resources
Big Man's Costume:
The Big Man costume is Frederick Foswell's most important possession. Without it he would be
unable to pursue his conquest of the NYC Underworld and more importantly, bask in the respect and
power the Big Man has that Foswell never had. The Big Man effectively disguises Frederick's
identity, especially his height, voice, and build. This is accomplished due to padding in his
clothes, hidden platforms in his dress shoes, and a voice distorter sown into his sweater neck. The
most striking feature however, is The Big Man's metallic mask. Made out of pure titanium, this
facemask affectively covers the front of Foswell's face, masking his face, but not his eyes. The
back of Foswell's head and his scalp is wrapped up in a type of cloth that closely resembles medical
bandages, thus hiding his hair and other discernable features. Finally, his hands are covered with
gloves, thus keeping anything he touches free of fingerprints.
Drugs:
Like most Crime Lords, The Big Man is neck-deep in the Drug Trade. This is mostly due to the
works of Los Monteros and The Sons of the Dragon. Los Monteros have connections to cartels in
Colombia and Mexico, which they use to acquire Crack and Meth, which they sell to both junkies and
to the Mods and Comets in wholesale. The Sons meanwhile have access to the higehst quality heroin
and opium money can buy, thanks in part due to the contributions of Fao Zhao, a notorious Opium Lord
in China, and Ping's cousin.
Money:
The Big Man's network so far has netted him a profit of over 500,000 dollars a year. Which,
combined with his meager salary of 45,000 dollars a year at the Bugle allows him to spend a lot more
than he could've in the past, which is quite useful for tasks like buying weaponry and hiring
assassins.
Money Laundry:
The Big Man, thanks to Wu Ping, has recently found a way to clean The Network's dirty money.
This process involves the money being shipped overseas to Europe and Asia, where it's knowingly
laundered by corrupt banks, and shipped back to America via Ping's chain of restaurants.
Rackets:
The Big Man's Network has plenty of rackets to supplement their income. Among these are drug
dealing, gambling, car theft, extortion, and arms dealing.
The Enforcers:
The Enforcers are The Big Man's most important assets in his domination of the NYC Underworld.
The Enforcers are made up of Fancy Dan, a master martial artist, Montana, a master of the lariat,
and finally, Ox, the dumb, almost superhumanly strong muscle. The Big Man gathered these three
together and uses them as his emissaries and muscle, having them bring his orders to his various
crews and putting down discontent, often violently.
The Network:
The Big Man's syndicate, The Network is currently made up of 4 gangs which Big Man consolidated
together. Big Man is currently working on expanding this Network, eventually hoping to gain enough
power to topple The Maggia once and for all. Each of the four gangs currently in the Network bring
in their unique talents and rackets that brings in benefits and profits to The Network as a whole.
The 4 gangs are as follows-
Los Monteros- Los Monteros is one of the oldest gangs in NYC,
spanning back to the 1950s. Los Ramones is lead by the Montero family, a family of Cuban immigrants
that arrived in The Bronx in the 1950s. Los Ramones specialize in The Drug Trade and in Arms
Dealing, making them one of the most profitable arms in the Big Man's Network. Los Ramones are
currently being lead by Papa Montero, the Patriarch of the Montero Family, with his three sons
acting as Lieutenants. For the longest time the gang only allowed Hispanics, but have recently begin
allowing Caucasians to join their ranks, mostly due to the insistence of Papa's youngest son,
Ramone.
The Mods- The Mods are the newest of the Big Man's gangs, only showing up around the
last five years. However, they have cemented a rather vicious reputation during those five years,
which is quite surprising considering the gang's rather innocent origins. The SoHo Mods were birthed
from a small revival Mod culture had back in 2016, and never left. The Mods are mostly made out of
punk rich kids and middle class hooligans who are more focused on their fashion and scooters and
view petty crime as a thrill. The Mods specialize in the theft of bikes, scooters, motorcycles, and
deal in Amphetamines, which they sell as party drugs.
The Sons of The Dragon- The Sons of the
Dragon are a gang based in Chinatown and are the second largest crew in Big Man's Network. Comprised
of Asian and Caucasians, The Sons are lead by Wu Ping, a influential Chinese-American businessman
who bankrolls the group and smuggles in heroin for them to sell across the city, and his nephew Yao.
Besides drugs, The Sons are avid street racers and car enthusiasts, often boosting high performance
vehicles for either sale overseas or for use in high-risk street races.
The Comets- The
Comets are a gang of thugs and sports hooligans deeply entrenched in the NYC sports scene. These
vicious sports fans mostly specialize in gambling and drug dealing, especially during Sports Days
Weaknesses
Enemies:
The Big Man has quickly earned many enemies. Chief amongst them are the other Crime Lords in
NYC, who seek to squash this upstart before he can make a big impact. There is also the various law
enforcement agencies and the hero community, who frown at the idea of uniting NYC's gangs and will
no doubt seek out the mastermind behind said plot.
Family:
The Big Man is married and has two children. Foswell is a intensely devoted family man and often
fears what would happen to his family if anyone were to discover his identity. Foswell's family
could be used against Big Man by his many enemies in the Underworld, enterprising supervillains, or
by clever superheros.
Human:
The Big is still human and has no chance against those more powerful than him.
Split-Personality:
The Big Man was originally meant to be a way for Foswell to live out his fantasy of being a big
shot and amassing the power he had never had before. But, the more he puts on the costume, the
harder it is to turn back into "puny" Frederick Foswell once the costume is off. Foswell does not
know this know, but the Big Man is becoming a distinctive personality of his own, one that is slowly
taking over his mind. This will eventually cause him to act more and more like his criminal alter-
ego in his civilian life, which will mean trouble, especially considering Big Man's violent
tendencies.
Suspicions:
Foswell so far thinks his family doesn't suspect a thing about his alternate persona. However,
Foswell's ever vigilant wife has begun to notice that Freddie has began throwing around more money
than he ever had before. So far, she doesn't suspect the full truth, but thinks her husband is still
up to something, something that might not bode well for her and her family and will investigate if
things get more suspicious.
