Character Info
Profile
An immortal warrior, this Eternal has faced some of the most fearsome creatures ever to plague the Earth. At one time he was so well known as a hero that he was crowned King of Uruk in ancient Sumer. At other times he's served as a Centurion in the Roman Legions and as a soldier in dozens of armies. Lately, however, he has focused his immortality not just on mastering combat, but on mastering cooking and brewing. How long this peaceful existence will last is unknown.
Timeline
Timeline:
50,000 BCE - Gilgamesh is created by the Celestials as part of the control group of Eternals on
New Genesis called the Forever People.
45,000 BCE - Gilgamesh and a small number of Eternals
travel to Earth to fight the Deviants. The Deviants are largely destroyed and Gilgamesh remains on
this new world to protect its inhabitants, spending much of his time in the Eternal's city of
Titanos.
25,000 BCE - Gilgamesh begins spending more time around humans, helping them fight
off monsters and would-be conquerors.
15,000 BCE - Ragnarok. Gilgamesh finds himself
entrenched in the fighting on the side of the Celestials. As the Celestials are defeated Gilgamesh
decides to devote his existence to the betterment of humanity, helping the species survive the
brutal Hyborean Age.
3000 BCE - Gilgamesh becomes King of Uruk, in Sumer. It was not
originally his intention, but after saving the city from numerous threats he was adopted by the
dying king and pressured into inheriting the position.
2500 BCE to 1000 CE - Gilgamesh does
much traveling and fighting across the Eastern Hemisphere of Earth. Most of the time he serves in
the armed forces of a variety of nations and Empires, including Rome. As a Roman soldier he rises to
the rank of Centurion. At various times he commits great deeds and slays horrible monsters and
Deviants. He also meets a number of other figures of myth, especially demigods and
heroes.
1500 CE - Having grown tired of over fifty thousand years of war, Gilgamesh decides
to try living a quieter life. He develops a love of cooking and brewing and becomes determined to
master these skills as he's mastered combat.
1900 CE to 2020 CE - Moving to Australia,
Gilgamesh wins the Emu War single-handedly after the Australian government forces are defeated. He
invents the emu burger, determined to use as much of the birds as possible. Though he should have
been a national hero for besting the massive birds, he took care to hide his identity and was known
only as Hero for his service.
2021 CE - It is time for Gilgamesh and the Eternals to return
to the public eye...

Personality
Fearless:
Fear is in Gilgamesh's vocabulary, but having fought for so long he has the utmost confidence in
his abilities and knows very few beings have any chance of standing up to him.
Heroic:
If someone needs help and Gilgamesh is around he will almost inevitably become involved. He
can't turn down assisting people when they're in genuine need.
Character Sheet
Powers
Energy Projection:
Eternals tend to have the ability to project energy in some manner. Gilgamesh projects his
through his hands, usually when they're balled into fists. This energy is capable of striking with
tens of tons of force and incredible heat. With his energy projection Gilgamesh can slice through
battleships and cause damage to other extremely tough beings.
Immortality:
Gilgamesh can not be killed by conventional means and doesn't age. In order to destroy him
permanently one would have to disintegrate him or break him down to sub-molecular levels. Without
doing so Gilgamesh will be able to fully heal in a matter of time. Of course, the worse he's injured
the longer it will take to recover.
Invulnerability:
Gilgamesh is absurdly difficult to damage. He's capable of trading blows with the most powerful
of beings and can withstand all manner of conventional weapons. The heights of space and the depths
of the ocean cannot cause him harm, nor can being submerged in molten metal. To do damage to
Gilgamesh one would have to be very strong, imbued with magic or possess truly fantastic
armaments.
Levitation:
Eternals can fly. Gilgamesh is a fair flyer, capable of reaching the speed of sound in Earth's
atmosphere. In the air he is maneuverable and agile, but he can't approach the skill of his fellow
Eternal Ikaris, among other flying sorts.
Psychic Powers:
Most Eternals possess some degree of psychic ability. Gilgamesh has not honed his skills very
much and is a minor telepath and telekinetic. Out of the five ranks of psychics among the Eternals
(with five being the highest) Gilgamesh is rank one. He's capable of reading surface thoughts,
communicating with people close by, implanting suggestions in people's minds and can move up to a
thousand pounds with telekinesis. He prefers to use his mind over his body and almost never uses
these abilities.
Super Strength:
The strongest of the Eternals, Gilgamesh's strength rivals that of any being on Earth. With the
ability to easily lift over 100 tons, the immortal warrior's strength would allow him to challenge
the mightiest heroes and villains.
Teleportation:
Most Eternals can teleport. This is incredibly disturbing, however, as they break down every
molecule in their body and reassemble them elsewhere. It is a heavy drain on his energy, as well,
rendering him tired for quite some time. He can reach anywhere on Earth or its atmosphere with this
ability.
Skills
Ancient Warfare:
Once a masterful strategist, Gilgamesh's knowledge of tactics is now no longer practical. Having
been away from any form of strategic responsibility since the fifteen hundreds, the Eternal doesn't
possess much knowledge of modern warfare. Though his skills are antiquated there's no reason he
won't be able to play catch up and adapt to modern warfare techniques.
Combat:
Having been a warrior for over 50,000 years, Gilgamesh is a force of nature. His skill at melee
combat and with thrown weapons is nearly unmatched. Even unarmed, this Eternal can conquer almost
any foe. His preferred weapons are the axe, the spear and the warhammer.
Cooking and Brewing:
Having devoted himself for over half a millenia to mastering the arts of cooking and brewing,
Gilgamesh is truly a master. You name it, he can make it, and better than most chefs in three star
Michelin rated restaurants. His beer brewing is unparalleled as well, with a special focus on lagers
and pilsners.
History:
He's lived so much of it that he's forgotten more than the most attentive historian can ever
hope to learn. He's a walking, talking treasure trove of historical knowledge. Well, at least of the
societies he's had a chance to live in. Ancient Sumer and the Roman Empire, in particular.
Leadership:
As a military officer and former ancient king, Gilgamesh knows how to lead. He's not the best at
it, having been long out of practice, but he knows what motivates warriors and he's not afraid to
lead from the front so he can still be expected to be effective in a leadership capacity.
Multilingual:
As an immortal world traveler, Gilgamesh is fluent in numerous languages alive and dead. If it's
not a secret or rarely used language the Eternal either already knows it or can learn it incredibly
quickly.
Resources
Eternals:
If push comes to shove, Gilgamesh may be able to call upon his fellow Eternals for
assistance.
Fortune:
More or less accidentally, Gilgamesh has been sticking his extra money in a savings account for
a couple of centuries. He's got a lot of dough saved up that continues collecting interest.
House:
Gilgamesh owns a house in Trenton, New Jersey, near the train station. It is here that his
secret food and beer lab is kept safe. The Eternal practices his most challenging recipes here and
may even invite people over to entertain them once they've gained his trust. He must keep the fact
that he is one of the world's greatest chefs a secret, lest people bother him.
Job:
Gilgamesh works as a short order cook in a diner in Manhattan. It doesn't pay very much, but it
keeps him close to the action and lets him interact with people from all walks of life.
Secret Identity:
Gilgamesh has a secret identity. He's known as Gilbert "Gil" Sumer. It is not the most creative
secret identity, but he's got all the necessary identification for it and can pass employment
background checks.
Weaknesses
Celestials:
These nigh-omnipotent beings created Gilgamesh and he would likely serve their wishes should
they return. Note the 'likely' in that statement, he may not be able to work for them again should
they target those he views to be innocent.
Heroic:
Gilgamesh can't help but intervene if someone undeserving is in trouble. He'll sacrifice
anything in order to protect someone, even a mortal. It's incredibly difficult for him to sit on the
sidelines. This can very easily endanger his ability to keep himself hidden from the
populace.
Overconfident:
Gilgamesh is an immortal warrior with strength surpassing almost any other creature in
existence. It's hard for him to imagine anything that can defeat him in a straight fight. Even if
he's clearly bested he may not be able to realize it.
Radion:
An extremely rare form of energy, Radion can quickly nullify an Eternal's powers. Longer
exposure causes physical harm and can even kill them.
Secret Identity:
Gilgamesh's secret identity is pretty good. Should it fail, however, he might quickly be outed
as an immortal. There are a few paintings and statues of him dating back millenia and some
photographs of him at diplomatic meetings in the nineteenth century. There's even a few pictures of
him in chef's attire at various restaurants throughout Australia.
