X-Corporation
Following the destruction of Genosha and the attack on Bushwick's "Mutant Town" in New York in 2020, Charles Xavier founded a worldwide nonprofit organization to assist displaced mutants, as well as employing legal representation and search and rescue teams to assist oppressed mutants to freedom. X-Corporation could be described as a combination ACLU and Peace Corps with a focus on mutants.
The organization advocates for mutants and investigates related civil rights violations. They also spearhead efforts for the betterment of mutantkind, such as infrastructure projects, work programs and mutant-friendly medical facilities in areas serving large mutant populations.
X-Corporation does engage in some amount of political lobbying, though prefers to build grass roots support by improving mutant-human relations.
Offices have been opened by X-Corp in many major cities, including Amsterdam, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Melbourne, Mumbai, Nairobi, New York City, Paris, Salem Center, Singapore, and Washington DC.
Various graduates of Xavier's School have had a hand in guiding the organization over time, including Jean Grey, James Proudstar and Warren Worthington. X-Corp was largely funded by an endowment from Charles Xavier and a few allies. In late 2022, Da Costa International was added to those supplying funding, and Roberto da Costa assumed the CXO position. Charles Xavier still maintains an important role as a member of the board of directors.
Superhero teams from Xaviers School have assisted X-Corp investigations at various times when more expertise was needed. In 2024 the organization began training Unity, an additional superhero team that could focus on X-Corp investigations and rescue missions.
